1541  Other / Beginners & Help / Where did it all go wrong on: January 22, 2023, 06:26:05 PM
I managed to safe a friend ( not very close ) from a scammer today.

This friend lost some money to a crypto scam in 2021 and he still feels bad about it because the money is over 10k dollars but someone claimed they can help him to recover the fund, he got so happy and rushed down to my place this afternoon but unfortunately, I broke the news that this person is a scammer..

1. The person DM him first.
2. Mysteriously he knew he lost some crypto in 2021.
3. He wants 10% of the missing or lost funds deposited first to his wallet.

I knew this is a old tactics but with the way this my friend felt after hearing about the possible refund I felt bad telling him that it's all a scam, I am still confused how this person knew he lost some funds in 2021 though, since this person is not ready to tell more about himself there is no way to find out.

What do you guys think? I am getting this vibe that maybe the first hack was done by the same person or the same organization?

I don't want to start asking questions about his friends and stuff, he is way older than me and we aren't very close, I called him a friend because he live nearby and he is into Bitcoin mining. I guess he has a lot to learn and understand.
1542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is gxc coin potentially good? on: January 21, 2023, 05:41:19 PM
There are some shit coins on coinmarketcap with 25 million to 30 million max supply, focusing your attention on max supply instead of the problem the project is solving in crypto space is a waste of time and money, look at the max supply of Polygon and look at it's value.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins or tokens related to the AI or ML on: January 21, 2023, 05:08:58 PM
Metaverse and A.I will work very well together, that's why I am so bullish on these two utilities, Fetch AI and Singularity Net are old skool, though they can upgrade but I won't be focusing much on them, I will go for new AI projects like Alethea AI and VAIOT, I believe that few promising projects will show up before 2023 runs out.
1544  Other / Beginners & Help / Trying to steal our Bitcoin or simply hatred for Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2023, 03:18:19 PM
Are people like JP Morgan intentionally bad-mouthing Bitcoin? I thought he knew better, in 2020 this man was saying something good about the future of crypto and Bitcoin then today he said something else, he called Bitcoin a fraud, what is he doing?

Who doesn't know that the max supply of Bitcoin is 21 million and will stay this way forever? Maybe he thinks he can cause chaos using this stupid idea? Because it's stupid to me.

If Satoshi adds more bitcoin to it's supply which is impossible wouldn't that collapse all the decentralized / freedom ideas that Bitcoin was built for? I think now I lost respect for Morgan, he thinks like a child.
1545  Other / Beginners & Help / Be patience when you trying to make transactions on your wallet on: January 20, 2023, 12:42:22 PM
New investors are always advised to have patience when investing in crypto, there is no shortcut to making money in crypto space but there is something else I want you guys to be aware of

Whenever you want to make a transaction using your crypto wallet always take your time, do not rush as this can lead to regretful mistakes later, always check the receiver's address very well.

If you want to deposit to any exchange always log into the exchange and copy the address, do not copy the exchange address in a sheet and keep using it, exchanges can update the address.

Scammers have also found way to create addresses that are identical to the one you sent payment to last, do not look at the last four numbers/ alphabet and say it's the same, that's what scammers want you to think.

1546  Economy / Economics / We are not out of the woods yet on: January 18, 2023, 04:23:58 PM
There is always this most painful season in crypto space that hurts even the strongest of crypto holders out there where they will almost give up, I don't believe that this bear market will be different, if you are here in 2019 you knew what I am talking about.

It will get to a point where many will start losing hope on crypto, a more painful bottom will occur and holders will lose faith, the bear market will look like it will be here forever.

We are not at this point yet so do not get too confidence that a new all times low is no more possible, no one saw COV-19 coming in 2020 and anything can still happen between 2023- 2024.
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Massive amount of GPU returns at my local computer store... on: January 18, 2023, 04:13:15 PM
Strange, in my country you can't return any brand new GPU after making payment unless it's not working on the same day you purchased the GPU, once you open the box it's forever yours  Grin Grin.

I have abandoned GPU mining lol, I never knew I could until I see how better Bitcoin mining is doing right now compare to GPU mining.
1548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel happy on: January 18, 2023, 04:09:22 PM
You are happy before of the relief rally? What happens if another dump take place? It's very possible we could go down to 15k BTC again, how would you feel then? Crypto investments hurts emotional investors more than others because they don't really understand how crypto market works and they invest based on how they feel.
1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody else confused by the dead-coins pump ? on: January 16, 2023, 07:28:35 PM
I will rather invest my money on something that still has it's reputation intact than those that are already labeled scam, are you blind or what? Better not let greed control you, Chain Link is better than all these FTX crap projects, it's time will come.
1550  Economy / Service Discussion / Iancoleman users I want answers on: January 16, 2023, 06:49:28 PM
I was warned a few times on this forum not to type my recovery seed into any online website or platform but I am surprised that people are using the Iancoleman website by fully typing in their recovery seed, how can we be sure that this is safe?

Some high ranking members even talk about this iancoleman, saying it's safe to use if you know how to, but typing your recovery seed into a website automatically brings down the security wall, correct me if I am wrong friends.

How sure are you that iamcoleman is safe? It's open source? My foot, because this website is just like every other websites out there, someone is always behind them, typing in your recovery seed means it's not safe anymore.

I am waiting for answers.
1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Solana takes back top 10 position on: January 15, 2023, 07:59:52 AM
Solana is once again a top ten coin, I am starting to feel like I will regret not buying solana and hold for a long time because if this project survive it will bring the highest ROI in the list of top coins on coinmarketcap, the present value is even looking good, what is your take on Solana? Are you a believer or you think it won't do well for long.

How does AES 256 encrypted keys works in a crypto wallet?does this makes a crypto wallet more secured in any form?
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are the gigabyte ga-h1110-d3a and asus b250 mining expert still viable boards? on: January 13, 2023, 06:17:09 PM
Found a gigabyte ga-h1110-d3a and asus b250 mining expert in a cupboard in work. Boss says I can have them FOC. Wondering if worth building a system around these two boards as I know they are quite old now. Dont mind doing the leg work if worth the while

Thanks in advance

The gigabyte board is nice, but i hate this asus b250 mining expert. I have 2 of them, but very very very very unstable  Cheesy

I have one b250 motherboard and it's working perfectly, I wonder why you said yours is unstable, the only problem I have is always on Risers not the motherboard.
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence on Ethereum and the danger of a AI without limitations on: January 12, 2023, 07:38:35 AM
OP you've watched too many Artificial intelligence movies  Grin Grin Grin, there are many smart people out there and they don't see any danger in the present AI projects of any kind, do you think that Vitalik is not scared for his life like you? If it's not safe then the alarm would have risen..

The only unsafe part of AI is creating beings in with AI and with full consciousness in them, able to think, react and make decisions, this was the part that Elon believed it's not safe for humans.

1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Not To Use Mobile Altcoin Wallet - But Use Desktop Wallet on: January 12, 2023, 07:30:27 AM
You will see more hacking on a desktop PC than a mobile phone, take this or leave it, I don't like storing my coins on a PC wallet because it's easier to get hacked than using a smartphone.

I have been hacked on a smartphone and I lost some money but that was my fault because I have saved the recovery seed online and also import the recovery seed into a few new wallets and even iancoleman.

I can't point that this is where things went wrong because some people even blamed the coinomi wallet team for lost of assets on the wallet.

But on PC the hacks happened more than once.
1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LCX vs BNB on: January 12, 2023, 05:16:52 AM
I have LCX token on my watchlist, it needs to crash even more if I am going to buy and hold, forget whatever anyone is saying, some times, those tokens that people don't like end up doing so well, you can still make profit from LCX in a bull market and moreover, you made 70%+ already.

There are few coins that people don't like and they performed so well, for example, Shiba inu, doge coin or Hex, look into GNS ( Gains Network ) it's dex but has more potential to grow, invest only what you can afford to lose and you will be alright.
1557  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful buying alts that already surged high in past bull market on: January 11, 2023, 06:34:01 AM
Yes, indeed many of them may never get ATH again in the next bull market because if we look at this time there are thousands of new altcoins on the market that use more sophisticated technology than their predecessor altcoins, so investors are not too interested in investing in old altcoins, but I optimistic that ETH, BNB and LTC will get ATH again because these three coins have strong fundamentals.
Based on the history we already know that altcoins will never reach their ATH (peak price when they were super pumped) ever again. There is no exception to this rule either which means shitcoins like ETH, BNB, LTC, etc. that you mentioned will also never reach their ATH prices ever again.
Just look at the history, a shitcoin like ETH was once worth about 0.15BTC and today after 6 years it is half that value and has not been capable of regaining that ATH despite all the pumps that the centralized authorities have attempted so far.
Is this right? You are using ETH - BTC while we know that ETH reached a new ATH in 2021 of 4,600$, it feels more right to use ETH/USD not ETH/BTC.
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are good AI coins to buy and HODL? on: January 06, 2023, 01:09:26 PM
I doubt that A.I will be a big thing in future unless one way or the other Metaverse projects can coexists with A.I project and work together, the reason I said this is because crypto Artificial intelligence projects have been around since 2018 and they have failed to stay alive too many times, it feels like it's not the right time for them at this moment.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 06, 2023, 12:34:01 PM
BONK is a big surprise to me this year, how can a meme coin from a dying smart contract project called solana gained so much attention in a very short period of time? The website is also a big red flag because the information is very limited, only three tabs are available on the website. Are people completely crazy or what?
1560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what are blockchains? on: January 06, 2023, 12:05:20 PM
My friends don't have much experience in crypto, and I often hear the word blockchain, so I want to ask all of my friends? namely, what is blockchain, its function and how does it work? please help to explain?
Google has all the answer mate and today we have smartphones and the internet, I learned more about crypto using google search engine, with this topic of yours I believe you need to start your crypto research using google at first.
