If you think government policy is unreasonable, do you have a better solution? Or do you just sit there and do nothing and criticize the government? It's funny when many people criticize the government, while the government is the ultimate authority, and others are just commoners who go online to slander the government and do nothing for the country.

Government make unreasonable and somewhat stupid policies all the time to favor some certain few individuals. I think I’m actually doing something when criticizing the government on policies I think aren’t beneficial to the general populace.
Elections which require the citizens to vote are held that put these people in government. If they’re not elected, they won’t have a position in government. Who then has the ultimate authority? I’d say it’s the voter that elects whoever in government. And it’s the commoners who has the ultimate power. The power to vote.

With your mindset, I bet you’re the type to be sucking up to anyone that has power and money. Defending the indefensible and ignorantly giving your rights away for peanuts.

1543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is ready to become Twitter CEO for bitcoin pay on: December 19, 2022, 07:51:16 PM
Yeah, I doubt Snowden’s application to step in as CEO of twitter would receive a second review. But it is interesting he’s opting for the job and more interesting, the choice to be paid in bitcoin. I think the fact that he sees bitcoin as a legit means of payment and is indirectly spreading the word about bitcoin is what’s note worthy. I personally don’t care who runs twitter as the CEO.
Lately Elon, with his newfound incessant twitting habit has been  in my opinion, doing a poor job of running the app that anyone other than him would be better.
1544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few Days To Christmas - How Are You Preparing? on: December 19, 2022, 07:36:12 PM
I think we’re all allowed to chill a bit and enjoy ourselves, at least for the Christmas holidays. During this festive period, we exchange gifts and try to spread joy and cheer to family, friends and everyone around. And if that means letting go of a few satoshi to achieve that, I personally don’t see anything wrong in that.
You’re right on the fact that the Christmas Day is just a 24 hour period and then it’s gone. All the more reason to cherish, chill and make merry, isn’t it?
1545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the world be if Bitcoin wasn't created on: December 19, 2022, 04:36:10 PM
Many people are thinking of other ways to make money. There are many people who have become rich because of Bitcoin, but there are also many people who have lost their money because of Bitcoin.
The world will not change much. Other innovative technologies would have been discovered without Bitcoin.
Bitcoin does bring a lot of convenience to people.

Yeah, lots of people are looking to other means of making money aside their main job to make ends meet. And to some, bitcoin has helped with that as there are lots of people who invested and held bitcoin in its early stages and reaped a bountiful return on their investments.
I think the majority of people who lost money on bitcoin are people who had and stored their funds on exchanges that later went bankrupt and folded up, like the recent FTX mess. No doubt, bitcoin has helped change the lives of a lot of people.
1546  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 19, 2022, 03:51:29 PM
It was not hard if you are determined to do that but if you just talk and do nothing, this is certainly impossible.
But there are a lot of factors why some people don't make it; like if you only have one source of income and a low salary, I don't think saving will be their priority. In fact, even saving at least 5% is too difficult for them, especially if they are in debt already. A lot of people have this situation, they grow old and are still broke. They keep working but have no chance to improve their status.

To actually save funds over a long period of time requires a strong state of mind. That said, if you haven’t got the will power to save, there would be no savings. But there are various reasons like you indicated that would make any savings impossible.
Despite having only a single source of income and an extremely low one at that, people are more inclined to live a false life of luxury and affluence in order to feel socially accepted leading them to spend more than they earn thus leading further into debt. And an individual with a debt to his name cannot have any savings just yet.
1547  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 19, 2022, 01:57:49 PM
Based on the CBN governor explanation concerning the limit cash withdrawal in the country few weeks ago, show that this new policy will bring good result to Nigeria economy in the future, that will make other countries to copy the strategy from Nigeria government. This policy will help the individuals in the country not to spend money anyhow than to endure to save more money that will make them not to experience poverty from their various places in the country.

I’m curious on how exactly would you think that this new policy would bring a good result to the Nigerian economy in the long run. You also mentioned that the policy would help citizens in the country not to spend money anyhow. That’s amusing to me. A policy stopping citizens from withdrawing a certain amount and you think it’s great because it helps citizens not to spend their own money anyhow. They should ensure and save money so they wouldn’t experience poverty later on. Your reasons for thinking that this policy is good cause it helps people not to spend money anyhow is absurd.
1548  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: December 19, 2022, 09:54:03 AM
Many think real estate is the most profitable investment, right now too much advertising is too much, for example you can get RoI in 5 years because prices will continue to rise, the fact is the opposite is true, when you want to sell property it will be difficult and if you want fast of course should be priced cheaper than when buying.

Real estate, in my opinion is indeed a profitable investment. But like all investments, there is always some certain level of risk involved. There are several factors that affects the price of real estate as well as other investments. That is why you’ve got to do your research on these factors that affects the price and value of the investment you’re about to venture into.
There are lots of real estate investments that appreciate periodically and steadily, as there are some that lose some of its original value. Real estate has been profitable to lots of people and would continue to be.
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: December 19, 2022, 03:08:07 AM
It takes great effort, skills, a boatload of perseverance, hard work and a shitload of money to enable someone efficiently start and manage a business. So for people that are leaning towards being a business owner and an employer, you should very well know it isn’t a walk in the park to employ and manage people.
A business owner must be up and doing. He/she must be knowledgeable in the craft so as to stay ahead of competitors and other business owners.
Not everyone can open and manage a successful business and that’s why everyone can not be employers of labor. To be an employer and your own boss would seem rosy to some and we could all prefer to be employers but can we all put in the work required? And there is a lot of work required.
1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 06:09:56 PM
Finally, after reaching the finals and losing out numerous times, Messi has carried his Argentine squad to the World Cup and has now won it.
As soon as the game entered penalties, I knew that Argentina has won the game as they’ve got a very good keeper that’s a superb shot stopper. I think the Argentine keeper really tried to help his team as he literally helped them to keep balls out of the net during the penalties.
Messi is arguably the best player of his time having won all the major tournaments there is to win. He really is the greatest of all time. He can now rest easy from country football after now carrying the country to victory.
A great and very emotional tournament, the much anticipated World Cup has now come and is now ended with Argentina as the victor. Great game!
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 03:46:30 PM
It’s now 45 minutes, almost the half time and the score is 2 goals to nil in favor of Argentina. The gameplay so far has been in favor of Argentina as they’ve been playing superbly and totally in control of the game. I think Argentina is more aggressive in this game and in my opinion, has played far more better than any of their matches in this tournament. They’re hungry for the World Cup and their aggressive play as well as the two goals of course in the match shows that. Overall, it’s been a great half time for Argentina as they have clearly dominated the game.
I think 7 minutes extra time is a bit too long. But I think Argentina has the first half of the match in the bag.
1552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just can't get my eyes off my wallet. on: December 18, 2022, 11:31:22 AM
I do not think your habitual behavior of regularly checking your wallet to know the current price of bitcoin is abnormal. On the contrary, lots of people can’t get their eyes of their wallets and I think a lot of people do check their wallets periodically for want to know the current price of their investments.

As a new bitcoin holder, I think it’s understandable that you would check your wallet numerous times daily. You stated that you intend on holding bitcoin for the long run and that’s why you’re accumulating bitcoin monthly and storing in your decentralized wallet. As a new bitcoin holder, It’s great to see you’re saving your funds off exchanges.

As an intending long term holder, you should learn to put aside the habit of regularly checking your wallet. As you intend holding bitcoin for the long run, the present price of bitcoin shouldn’t be an immediate concern to you. You would only kill yourself with worry and perhaps doubts by regularly checking your wallet.
Don’t beat yourself about it and take it slow and easy. You’ll be fine.
1553  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 18, 2022, 05:42:54 AM
This is so true. I had the same thing nearly 10 years ago now, I worked at an office, had a side hustle and then I started to end up earning enough to quit my job, to be fair I got fired and did not quit, but the job I found was such a wonderful job that I kept working at it and now I am still working with it.

This is an amazing job for me and I am super happy about it and I am going to keep being happy about it for a long time as well. People who are not entirely sure about side hustles should try some, I guarantee you that it will give you some happiness. The weird part is, we used to spend this free time on hobbies, now we use them on trying to earn money.

I think happiness while on the job matters a lot. Like you stated, you are super happy and most likely would be happy for a long time as well. Employers who prioritize employee happiness and satisfaction on the job would have happy and satisfied employees who are able and willing to work and an employee that is actually willing to work and not just working for the pay is precious to the employer.

Side hustles were formerly looked down on as a thing poor to middle income families did to survive and make ends meet. But today, almost everyone has a side hustle to bolster their income gotten from their main gig. And it seems side hustles aren’t limited to poor to middle income earners anymore as people from all walks of life are now having second jobs and side hustles to earn some more.
1554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 04:46:21 AM
The result is according to people predictions that Croatia can able to beat Morocco yesterday and i am sure most of bettors have already wons their bets and odds @2.38 for Croatia at that time indeed quite high so this is decent odds to those who bets for Croatia win however talking about Morocco they ended this tournament with fantastic achievement although they lose and only gets 4th place but i think people will remember Morocco current squad can be recognized as golden generation and probably their achievement will be hard to repeated by other generation in this team

Yeah, the Moroccan team would be remembered as a dogged team that showed perseverance in the tournament. And I think being the only African team to reach this level of the tournament is note worthy. I had hoped the Moroccans would win and make history to become the first African nation to reach the third place in the tournament and win it.
Croatia played really well and thus, became the victors and winning the third place spot in the World Cup tournament. They worked really hard to get here and I think the win is well deserved.
1555  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 18, 2022, 02:24:23 AM
Unfortunately, not everyone has that much income from work, the average resident in my area earns $ 256 from work, this is still somewhat difficult or not comparable to what you describe, $ 3000 income is usually obtained by government officials with incentives and incentives and entrepreneurs who have has a sizeable market capitulation, of course, this is not easy for every resident in my area who relies on his job.
but it's not impossible that I can save a third of my income, if from $ 256 I can save $ 85.3 of the needs that are minimized as investment funds.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter how much your income is, when you can minimize expenses and only prioritize basic needs, there must be money that you can save.

It in fact, matters a whole lot on how much your income is in order to have some savings kept aside. With some extremely low income earners, they just can’t afford to save as they earn so little and would be obviously living hand to mouth.
If you could save some funds from your income after tax and expenses, that’s great for you. There are folks that, after working long hours, barely have enough fulfill their basic needs. How then could they put aside money to save when there isn’t any?
1556  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: December 18, 2022, 01:49:39 AM
Surely this depends on the place of property, I also bought property in an area that looks good, but when I want to sell the house at this time, the offer from the buyer is lower than I bought 4 years ago, the house certainly has its own risk because there are many factors influence, and I suggest to invest other than home.

It really does depends on the location where the property is situated. You mentioned you bought a property(a house) in a good location and after 4 years, you wanted reselling the house and got a price lower than what you got it for years earlier.

It’s either you’re bad at bargaining or the location of the property or perhaps even the property itself is shit and isn’t worth it. Cause I’ve always had the thought that land appreciates in value. So, if the land itself appreciates in value over time, the house built on it should be a plus.
I think real estate investments are quite profitable in the long run.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 15, 2022, 11:15:33 PM
I can't predict who's winning between Morocco and Croatia. The two sides played very well both In the knockout stage and the semifinals.
The last match between Morocco and Croatia was drawn and none could make any goal. This will be still difficult to predict again. Moreover both have their own spirit and expectation to at least get the third place. Croatia has string midfielders and Morocco also has strong midfielder and defense. Well, we will see interesting match even for the third place competition.

The battle for third place between Morocco and Croatia will be fought. I think Morocco had a good chance of winning Croatia and therefore taking the third place slot. If Morocco can play the way they did in the match with France, they’re sure to beat Croatia and win the third place.

The finals between the defending champions, France and the contender Argentina would be a very exciting game to watch. France has to defend the title of champion and Argentina wants to win and take away the glory.
Argentina has a good chance of winning the World Cup this year. They’re hungry for the cup and they might just go ahead and win the game with France. It’s going to be one hell of a match!!
1558  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 15, 2022, 07:20:29 PM
If an individual with no dependents earns $3k monthly after tax, it’s very possible to save a $1000. It’s also very for an individual earning $3-4k to go broke very quickly. Everything all depends on the way of life of the individual.

There are people who do not know how to put aside funds for savings, they are quick to blow away their income as soon as it arrives. So those individuals would definitely find it hard to put away a third of whatever their income was. It’s not as easy as it might seem for some folks to put aside some money for savings.
1559  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 15, 2022, 06:46:09 PM
It's a very difficult economic situation right now. Those who are working for the big companies, are constantly under pressure to ensure that they aren't fired. Still they do not know whether they are going to have their job in the coming month or not. So the situation is very different and the outlook is grim.

So side hustle is a requirement nowadays especially for people who are the sole bread earner for their family.  Probably this is what going to gain prominence as the loyalty and trust  is decreasing in the job field. It's all about making money in an honest and legal way. Time will soon become a premium.

I think the economic situation isn’t all that bright all over the world at the moment and there is little or no job security coupled with raging inflation in some countries. A side hustle is slowly becoming a necessity in our society as income gotten from the regular job is never enough for life expenses.

Low income earners have been long engaging in side hustles to foot their bills and survive in this harsh capitalist world we’re living in and it seems middle income earners has now joined the mix in looking for side hustles to survive. In these times, side hustles has become somewhat of a necessity. For an individual to comfortably live in any given society, your income must be far greater than your expenses.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 14, 2022, 08:54:56 PM
Until the final whistle, the game is still on. The Moroccans could still pull a fast one and score two goals to push it into extra time and perhaps penalties. The match could very well end with 2 goals to 1 in favor of France. France met a tough opponent in Morocco as they’ve been playing a really energetic. They came with really high hopes and really tried their best.

It’s now 5 minutes into the extra time and France has all but won the game. Both teams have played well but France was the better team and really shown that they were the defending champions.

I bet the appearance of the French president have bolstered the morale and strength of the French team and made them go ahead to win the game. Mbappe is no doubt a skillful player and contributed a lot to the success of the team.
