1541  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The way that Biden works. on: July 01, 2023, 03:00:07 AM
I am not a resident of the United States, so I am not 100% sure on how politics work there. However, if these crimes and illicit deals with Chinese businesses are true. Would not be a matter of time before a Republican get to the White House and used that power to gather and proof the guilt of both Hunter Biden and his father?

Because, in the end a Republican presidency will happen eventually, when comes and they do not show off the evidence then what one can expect, specially since conservatives continue to talk often about this case on TV and social media.

It don't matter whether the sitting president is DEM or REP, they are both under the deep state. You can see that when it comes to serious war issues it becomes a bipartisan decision. What these DEM or REP parties are is to fool the public that they have a choice but in reality, we don't.

You see when it comes to people dying like Eipstein, nothing was said about those friends he seem to be his very close friends. Hunter Biden gets a slap on the wrist after the obvious crimes. No media will ever say a word about it.

Democrats and Republican are two wings of the same bird; the deep state still control them. However, what I find so strange is why America become stronger under Republican and weaker under Democrats. For instance, under Biden, America have become more like a joke as people rarely take America seriously these days unlike how the BRICS nations are becoming stronger and better organized. America have left things of importance and are enmeshed in major distractions. Let's hope they elect a better leader that will start repairing the damages we are seeing today.
1542  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Was Nigeria actually paying subsidy on fuel? on: July 01, 2023, 02:09:42 AM
Hello my country people, I want us to reason an issue that have been bothering me for a while. I suppose majority of us in this forum are youths, so we have to deliberate on some key happenings in our dear country and just maybe, we can do things differently when we have the chance. Today I want us to talk about the fuel subsidy hoax, as I would love to call it because there are chances that we were never paying subsidy or that the supposed subsidy was never what and how they say it. Walk with me as I give my perspective on this issue.

      THE CRUDE OIL SWAP DEAL
In a bid to meet local consumption of fuel, subsequent administrations of the Federal government of Nigeria via NNPC developed what is called crude-for-fuel swap deal. By this deal, Nigeria give crude oil to selected companies and in exchange they give Nigeria fuel. Nigeria is not supposed to pay for these fuel so I wonder where the subsidy comes in. I have attached a link to the list of companies that won the bid for 2021 till date. As you can see, both foreign and local companies are involved.
https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/05/13/nnpc-picks-16-companies-for-new-crude-oil-swap-deal

BLENDING OF CONDENSATE AND NATURAL GASOLINE FROM BONNY
Another aspect of this "organized crime" happens through NLNG Bonny and Bonny River Terminal (BRT) operated by Exxon Mobil. NLNG produces Condensate as part of their finished product in addition to LNG and LPG. Foreign companies like TOTSA comes to buy the Condensate, move the vessel to Offshore Lome or Offshore Lagos where the product is blended (mixed with some chemicals) and the same vessel bring the final product back to Nigeria as PMS (Premium Motor Spirit aka fuel). Similarly, the natural gasoline from BRT is blended to DPK (Dual Purpose Kerosene) just somewhere around Nigerian waters and brought back as imported just to deplete our forex.  Why they cannot blend these product at the various terminals and distribute locally is just the same reason they claim to pay subsidy for fuel gotten through swap deals.

These are few of the reasons I feel there is more than meet the eyes in regard to the glorified subsidy payment. What is your view?
1543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Equal society is possible.... on: June 30, 2023, 04:25:39 PM
Human nature full of greed and selfishness will not permit Equal society devoid of class, class as been part of the  society, it can never be eliminated in nor no time, we have to live in harmony and peace, regardless of the class, this the only equal society that is visible if we all work toward it.

In this society where the poor see no good things, the Rich get richer, classes society is not possible

You actually made wonderful points that throughly reflect my view. Actually,  the concept of equality have no known history. From ancient kingdoms through the Biblical era to even our traditional African setting, there has never been a place for equality rather we have seen social stratification tailored in such a way that there will be law and order.

If everyone in the society is equal in all ramification, there will be chaos.  What we should focus on should be ensuring that we all enjoy peace and live in harmon; everyone should have a sense of belonging.
1544  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can BTC or crypto users play politics in Nigeria? on: June 30, 2023, 02:57:57 AM
There is no law stopping politicians from being involved in cryptocurrency.  As a matter of fact, many of them are actively involved in cryptocurrency.  I wouldn't be surprised if crypto is one of their means of hiding funds.

During the time former president Buhari banned Twitter, the then Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami deactivated his Twitter account and shared the screenshot. Unfortunately for him, people noticed he uses Latoken exchange... as captured in this article : https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2021/6/reno-omokri-calls-out-agf-abubakar-malami-alleges-cryptocurrency-trading-and-use-of-vpn-which-is-banned-in-the-country.html .

So, obviously, many top ranking politicians uses crypto and there is no law against them.
1545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam on: June 28, 2023, 03:59:15 PM
I doubt if you were actually scammed because this post gave no real information and offer no help to others. Assuming you were scammed, then you would have stated:
1. What website
2. What they are into and what they promised users that motivated you to invest
3. Any other information that might help other experienced guys in this forum to assist you in recovering your funds if possible.

By this, others, especially beginners, will learn from your experience and be safe. This I suppose is the primary reason for this board.
1546  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why Binance Dey Successful Pass Oda Exchanges for Naija? on: June 27, 2023, 03:42:29 PM
I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion of Binance being the most successful exchange in Nigeria but I must admit that a lot of people I know in crypto uses Binace, even the person that introduced me to crypto.

I have equally seen the flexibility and accessibility, especially the p2p functionality, that Binance offers and I think this should be the reason for the acceptance. However, I feel that the p2p aspect of Binance that makes a lot of Nigerians go for it still have it's associated risks.
1547  Other / Off-topic / Re: BrutePrint: bypassing smartphone fingerprint protection on: June 27, 2023, 02:51:36 AM
Fingerprint protection have been the most convenient security measures that is used by a good percentage of users in the digital space. So, if this turn out to be unreliable as suggested by this post,  then it becomes worrisome.

A link to the study of Yun Chen and Yiling He publication on bruteforcing will help us learn more about their discovery.
1548  Other / Off-topic / Re: When was the last time you visited your hometown? on: June 27, 2023, 02:32:39 AM
There is a growing rural to urban migration in my hometown. Part of the reason is that crude oil exploration activities such as gas flaring, oil spillage and others have resulted in serious pollution of the air, land and water. Not forgetting the attending insecurity that follows anywhere there is oil in Sub Saharan Africa.

So, my once cherished hometown has become a ghost of itself and people who can afford to leave are doing that in drove. Actually, it's getting to six months since I last visited.
1549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Some Merit really boosted my motivation on: June 26, 2023, 02:56:18 PM
I hope someday I will experience this feeling. Generally, everyone love gifts especially when it comes as a form of reward for your contribution to something posive or a job well done.

I am still studying the forum, checking up on the big guys especially how they contributed and grew to where they are. I will get there someday.
1550  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN Mandate Banks to Use Social Media Handle for Customer's KYC on: June 25, 2023, 11:15:23 PM
I think this is censorship in disguise! What we will see from this is that people will get punished for the opinion they hold in public discussion on social media. Considering the country we are, they will use this to gag people from expressing their opinion.

I am not surprised because social media have grown so big that it now posses a serious threat to the conventional media and the powers that be. Take for instance,  they have silenced the mainstream media as regards reporting the activities of terrorists and the only way we hear about killings and ethnic cleansing happening in some quatters is through social. media.

Furthermore, think about how social media was deployed for major events that impacted so much on our polity and governance such as the Endsars, 2015 and 2023 general elections and others.  Indeed, if not because of fear of insurrection,  this idea wouldn't have been conceived.

My humble opinion is for all Nigerian youths to lend their voices in rejecting this move as it has no link with tracking money laundering and whatever name they might give it.
1551  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Banks send emails to customers ‘no more forex at CBN rates (NEW UPDATE) on: June 25, 2023, 05:31:59 PM
Just as expected, there is serious volatility in the doreign exchange market and I few of the BDC dealers will want to take advantage of this to make quick profits. Well, the decision by FG is the righ t decision and overtime, we will see some stability in this.

To assure the people that there is full implementation of this policy by the commercial banks, they should lift all the limitations on our Naira debit cards as regard the FX market... this way, Nigerians can fully access the forex market, pay for goods and services oversea and not resort to other rigorous means for their businesses.
1552  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin Atm on: March 22, 2023, 02:11:21 PM
Nigeria got their first Bitcoin Atm in 2020 but since 2021 After the crypto ban,am wondering if The Atm still works? And was anyone here fortunate to use it before the ban? .
It was installed by Blockstale in Dazey Lounge and Bar, Lagos State. Their goal was to install more across Nigeria
but this was halt by the crypto ban

There was actually no official statement of ban of cryptocurrency from the government but there are internal policies of CBN that prohibits dealing on cryptocurrency and they push these through the commercial banks. For instance, GTB, Access and some other banks go as far as closing the accounts of anyone associated with cryptocurrency trading as reported by Sahara Reporter : https://saharareporters.com/2021/02/12/access-gt-banks-close-accounts-cryptocurrency-traders.

The uncertainty in government policies is also one factor that is hindering the penetration of cryptocurrency in mainstream as I have come to noticed. According to some of my friends that trade crypto, their fear is that government fit just wake up one day ban everything forcing them back to square one. So they gat shine their eye and remain anonymous.
1553  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Why the hate? How did we get here? Where do we go from here? on: March 21, 2023, 12:11:38 AM
Nigeria is at her worst state after the civil war. From history, the same things that lead to the avoidable civil war that claimed the lives of over 3 million people from the then Eastern Nigeria are all happening all over again.

The 2023 general elections have created so much hates and animosity in the country. It is rather unfortunate that politicians have resorted to tribalism and bigotry as a means of achieving their political ambitions at the expense of our peace and unity. So worrisom is the fact that there is open confrontations along tribal lines.

How did we really get here? Can anything be done to change this trend? What does the future hold for a country like ours where people are treated or judged along tribal lines?
1554  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The after effects of flood and to combat them. on: March 20, 2023, 04:44:44 PM
This flood matter is a very big issue that has and is still causing many problems; from loss of lives to food insecurity. As a matter of fact, my community, at the bank of the Orashi River, was 98% submerged under water and this turned the once agricultural community to a place of hunger and starvation.

Worse still, there are still predictions that the flooding of this year will be bigger than that of previous years (source: https://www.thecable.ng/actions-should-be-taken-early-nema-warns-of-massive-flooding-in-2023/amp) .

Combating the flood will need the intervention of government and various stakeholders as the process is capital intensive and requires strong political will. Some of the measures that presents a feasibly sollution include but not limited to :
1. Dredging of River Niger, River Orashi and other tributaries.
2. Building a tunnel that will connect River Orashi to the Soibriro River to take some of the volumes at peak period.
3. Building artificial water storages in Adamawa, and other northern states where such water can be used for irrigation purposes.
4. Ensuring proper drainage system and strong orientation on amoral dumping of refuse.

If these measures are put in place, am confident the flood will be checked and we can even realise some gains from it in terms of agriculture.
1555  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: AMONG THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES WHO DO YOU THINK LOVE NIGERIA? on: March 13, 2023, 02:24:49 AM
One way to measure love is showing empathy to the people of Nigeria. You cannot claim to love a people yet you are divisive and insensitive to our unity in diversity.  So far we have listened to the candidates and have seen their actions and inactions. Therefore, I believe we all know who love the country and the citizens more and genuinely want to help salvage the deplorable situation of the country.
1556  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 2023 Gubernatorial Elections Discussion Thread {Focus on Lagos & Rivers States} on: March 10, 2023, 09:31:55 AM
From wetin me observe for this whole matter, na the court case of Peter Obi/Atiku and INEC concerning the inspection of ONEC sensitive materials and BIVAS reconfiguration be the main reason for the postponement.
Now concerning Rivers and Lagos gubernatorial election, I dey see big fight for those two states. First be say, the status quo may change in Lagos but Rivers State is too hard to predict. Make we see as e go be sha.... but make every omah stay safe.

1557  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Is Yahoo(Street)the last hope of a common man? on: March 10, 2023, 09:21:32 AM

1558  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tinubu's plan for Blockchain and eNaira is appealing despite lacking details. on: March 10, 2023, 09:05:27 AM
Inasmuch as I know Nigerian politicians can promise anything during campaign,  Tinubu will do everything to get the sympathy and acceptance of the youths. Blockchain is one area he will achieve this if truly he care about the youths.  Nevertheless,  I will take this statement with a pinch of salt.
