@fuguebtc I’m not entirely confident about Srilanka and West Indies qualifying because both these team’s have disappointed a lot in recent year’s with their overall performances hence I won’t be surprised if they get knocked out. Furthermore I’m not expecting anything from the Zimbabwean player’s too but from Nepal I’m expecting a lot as they have been doing pretty well for themselves.

I really want to say that Sri Lanka and the West Indies are certainly going to qualify. But I also do not feel very confident saying that, to be honest. they are certainly better than the others. That’s what I can say for now.

Sri Lanka and West Indies are a few levels above the rest, due to massive gap in funding and support from the pig-4. Zimbabwe is a volatile team. If their players are available, then they can spring a few surprises. If Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza and Brad Evans manage to play well, then it is not going to be a big task for them to defeat the associate nations. But in order to qualify they need to finish at top-2. And for that they need to defeat either Sri Lanka or West Indies. I am not saying that it is impossible, but given the current circumstances, it is going to be very difficult.

I understand that Sri Lanka and the West Indies are a few levels above the others. But the inconsistency is a little too much to depend on them. Who knows maybe they will lose a crucial match! Who knows, maybe we will be surprised!
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 14, 2023, 05:59:09 PM
Dozens of international cricket matches going on right now, and it has been hard to track all of them. These are some of the matches that are ongoing right now:

1. ICC ODI World Cup qualifier (warmups)
2. Asian Cricket Council Women's Emerging Teams Cup
3. Africa Continental Cup T20
4. Kwibuka Women's T20
5. ICC U19 EAP World Cup Qualifier

In the ACC Emerging teams cup, yesterday Hong Kong was bowled out for 34 runs by India. In return, India chased down the target in 5.2 overs, to win by 9 wickets. For the ICC U19 East Asia-Pacific qualifier, yesterday New Zealand won against Vanuatu by a record margin of 396 runs. New Zealand made a total of 431/7, while Vanuatu could only manage 35 runs. New Zealand were asked to take part in the qualifiers for the 2024 tournament, because they had pulled out of the 2022 U19 ODI World Cup.

I am not following these matches very closely. Honestly, I do not care about these one sided matches so much. I am just looking at the score of these matches. Personally do not have the time to follow or watch each match closely. I am actually more interested in the match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Bangladesh do not have any win against Afghanistan in test matches as far as I remember.

Actually, I am not watching the test match as well. But from watching the scores I can say that Bangladesh is doing well. Joy and Shanto had a record-breaking partnership of 212 on the second wicket.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 14, 2023, 05:46:31 PM
It is actually really hard to say that any other team is going to qualify instead of West Indies and Sri Lanka. I mean right now the situation in Sri Lanka and the West Indies is not very good. But the others which they are competing against are far worse, to be honest.
So I don’t see any other team actually beating either of these two, Sri Lanka or West Indies in this race. And a good performance from Zimbabwe is expected. After all, they are getting a good amount of money from the ICC every year. They really should be showing some improvement. Otherwise, there are other teams that can use that money.
Well.. I agree. Performance depends a lot on the fund allocation from the ICC. Zimbabwe receives around $12 million per year from the ICC. Sri Lanka and West Indies receive $16.5 million per year. For teams such as Nepal (who receive $200,000 per year), it will be an uphill battle to compete against such teams. There are 4 test nations participating in this tournament - Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe. There is a 99.99% chance that the two teams that qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup will come from this sub-set.
Recently we've seen more matches go against the favourites. So, we can't be sure of the performance from the four. I expect Nepal, Netherlands to give good competence. Even the situation could arise same as that we saw in the IPL qualifier. Almost every team were with same point and the thrill of entering the qualifier continued till the last match.

Sithara007, Well, I couldn't agree more. This is certainly going to be from these four countries. And if we are being a little more precise I think we have to say that Sri Lanka and West Indies are going to be the ones. I am a little doubtful about them though. The performance that they have shown are not very convincing, to be honest.

Vaskiy, Of course, we cannot be sure about anything. It is actually hard to say since Sri Lanka and West Indies have not been very consistent. So obviously it is not 100% sure if they are actually going to be the teams to go ahead. But the expectation is obviously there from them.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 13, 2023, 05:34:46 PM
2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier will start in a few days from now. Sri Lanka and West Indies are the favorites to qualify, and other teams are fra behind them at lest on paper. Anyone believe that either of these two would fail to qualify? Among the other teams, Ireland and Netherlands are in bad shape and they have lost all of their recent matches. On top of that, Netherlands will be playing in this tournament without most of their top players. Zimbabwe will be having the home advantage, but they are also in poor form. Don't know much about the recent performance from Scotland, but Nepal may be able to win one or two matches. And I have zero hope for the other three teams - Oman, UAE and USA.

1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 12, 2023, 08:47:55 PM
the answer to your question is the same answer to the following question: why do people still consume alcohol even though alcoholic beverages are the main cause of car accidents? Why do people still have sex knowing that sex can cause many diseases? the answer is simple: as long as people gamble or drink or have sex in moderation and take precautions then they won't be harmed, it's all about having self control and having moderation that people won't have problems. so we're not going to be blaming gambling here, because gambling doesn't have a brain, people have a brain

that they should think, they should look at gambling as something to have fun and not something to earn more money, most of the time people have psychological problems in real life and start to gamble and with that they end up triggering another disease, which is gambling addiction, what society needs to do is constantly tell people to play in moderation, play for fun, that's all that can be done. Years ago I kept asking myself why didn't all the beer companies close down, but then I understood that the problem wasn't the beer companies, the problem was the people, here in my neighborhood for example, every day I see young people drinking a lot of beer and then they start to fight each other, and it's sad how alcohol destroys people, but it's still being sold a lot, because it's the fault of people who consume excessively

I want to say, personal responsibility is important, but the broader context should also be considered. Again, some activities are associated with potential risks due to social aspects, advertising, and ease of access. In addition, individuals may face challenges exercising self-control due to various factors, such as addiction, depression, or pressure from others.

Yes, it is crucial to educate people about responsible behavior and raise their awareness. In order to reduce harm, individuals should be encouraged to engage in activities such as gambling, alcohol consumption, and sex in moderation and with proper precautions. I think in order to minimize the potential negative consequences of individual decisions, society can provide information, materials, and assistance.
1546  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 12, 2023, 08:18:06 PM
For me its not safe, but you cant do so much, also nowadays the goverment data sometimes its hacked so...... we dont know if already ou documents are in the web.
Generally there is a risk when KYC data is sent to any casino or gambling platform that have no license or comparatively weak. Because those sites can be hacked at any time. If a gambler can choose Trusted site he can send the KYC information. Because if they falsify that information, their site will be destroyed. When a gambler makes a new registration he must observe these things carefully before registration otherwise he may face danger later. Gamblers should not provide KYC data unless they can trust the site.

Actually, choosing a reputable and trusted gambling platform is essential for gamblers. It always happens sites that are licensed and regulated generally follow stringent security protocols. And also sites like these are more likely to be secured properly against hacking attacks. I would say, research the reputation, licensing information, and security practices of a gambling site before you provide any personal information. You know, regulated sites are more likely to adhere to security and data protection standards because these organizations enforce compliance.

In the end, as a sincere gambler you should avoid sharing personal information, including KYC data, with any gambling platform that you feel is unreliable or suspect.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 12, 2023, 06:09:11 PM
Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are rumored to be leaving Manchester City soon. I know they have been important players in the Manchester City squad in recent seasons, so I think Manchester City will have a very hard time finding replacements for both of them if both players leave this season.

Gundogan has been linked with move to Barcelona, then Silva will go to PSG. If these reports are true, then of course Manchester City are in big trouble especially about finding the right replacement.

Ilkay Gundogan had a wonderful season this year. He won the admiration and respect of everyone with his performance. However, Manchester City did not offer a contract that would convince him. I think he will definitely leave the team. However, Bernardo Silva has a contract for 2 more years and is one of the most important players of the team. I don't think there is anything that requires him to leave the team. Manchester City will make a transfer to the midfield instead of Ilkay, but I don't think they will make radical changes in the starting 11. I think it would be a risky choice and Manchester City would not prefer such aggressive changes.

First of all, I don't think Manchester City is going to make big changes in the team. And secondly, even if some players do decide to leave Manchester City right now I don't think Manchester City is going to face too many problems. Manchester City is currently the best club in the world. So, I don't think they are going to have any problems trying to find players who will be as good as the players that they had, if not better. I do not think unless the players want to leave Manchester City, Manchester City is actually going to make any big changes.
1548  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: June 12, 2023, 01:09:10 PM
If all the risks that everyone fears in doing business, whether in business, investment and whatever it is, what we need to do is learn from mistakes and make them a field of knowledge to become knowledge in making investments.

What to do.?
For those who have confidence in the development of their company, I think holding on to the shares they own longer, because from an economic point of view, today is still in the improvement stage, nothing is not falling at this time. So if a stock that's losing value, but has the potential to rebound is even better, why not hold on, if you're in doubt, then the option is to divert the remaining funds to bitcoin, given that today bitcoin is still cheap, and our bitcoin halving isn't much longer.

Investing in stocks or bitcoin doesn't make too much of a difference. What is more important is that we must have complete knowledge about it and be confident when investing in it. We should not invest in the advice of others when we know nothing about it. I would not advise stock investors to invest in bitcoin, instead, I think they should be knowledgeable because once they have the knowledge, they can make a profit in any market. It's not just bitcoin that is profitable, and stocks are not.
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ad sales down 59%, company valuation down 66% on: June 12, 2023, 12:56:42 PM
You just discussed about ad sales down but dont know how much musk/twitter got profit from their monthly subscription. Since Twitter now considered as private company the data out ther might is outdated or not really accurate tho.

and besides that I don't think Twitter will bankrupt anytime soon, especially with the hand of Elon looking at the other private company like SpaceX or the boring tunnel it eating billion of dollar but still stand out.

Admittedly, Twitter's revenue has dropped somewhat, and the company isn't doing as well as it used to. But we all forget that the world economy is in crisis, so it is normal for some companies to have difficulties. But many people looked at it and began to disparage and mock Elon.
In general, with the current world economic situation, I don't see too many companies reporting profits in the last 2 years of the economic crisis and not to mention a series of bankrupt companies and corporations. So, the fact that Elon helped Twitter survive and continue to grow through the great crisis has been a success, we should look at that positive side.

The way he does it is to repeat the phrase several times a day. That might guarantee that he won't be able to forget it, but it's a waste of time, and if something unexpected happens, there's no guarantee he'll remember it. Everything is at risk.

I consider it too a risky method and a waste of time and efford. To control that you memorized it properly especially in the learning phase, you need a written record of the mnemonic words. With the written record you have a backup, so no need to memorize it.

Once you learned the words and can repeat them from memory 100% properly and in order, you still have to re-check your memory regularly, maybe not several times a day, but still on a regular base. To then that your memory is still correct you'd need again a written record of the mnemonic words to be sure. Well, then memorizing is a waste of time. Not keeping a written record of the words is likely a recipe for desaster.
I'm not advocating that method either, it has too many risks that outweigh the benefits. But one biggest advantages the method gives is that you can access your bitcoins anytime, anywhere you want. Each storage method has pros and cons, we need to choose the one that feels best and works best for us. But regardless of the storage method, we should have 2 to 3 backups, not depending on just one way is too risky.
Self-storage is one of the biggest advantages of bitcoin over other asset classes, but it can also become a disadvantage if we are subjective.

Congratulations to the Australian team for winning the match so easily. Some of the bowlers in their team showed so much skill that the Australian team won the match by a huge margin. At the start of the team compliment I like to draw the attention of the bowlers. Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon took 7 wickets in the 2nd innings with a brilliant bowling performance.
The best part of this series was Australian Blowing because they have done it perfectly and won it. Specially Lyon took some wickets when it's needy. And the Boland was outstanding by his inswing outswing delivery. I will give the most credit to them. I can see the future of Pace bowling for Australian Cricket team at Boland's face. Best Wishes for him. India was too week to face this guy.
Australian bowlers bowled very well. Lyon and Boland's bowling in particular was excellent. But my expectations from the Indian batsmen in this match were much higher. Because a few days ago they performed in IPL. After the IPL is over, the players are usually in a good mood. But every Indian batsman played very badly in this match. Ajinkya Rahane was the only batsman who managed to bat slightly better in both innings. Besides, no other batsman on the team was able to bat well. But I would not say that the performance of the bowlers was too bad.

Australia won the match by a big margin. They have won the match by 209 runs. This was obviously a great performance from Australia. But the same cannot be said for India. India could have done a lot better. I absolutely agree that the batting from India was not good at all. If India could do a little better with batting I think they had a chance.

Of course, it was the home ground of Australia and Australia was certainly going to have some advantage over India. But India should have been more prepared. We all know how Steve Smith can perform on this particular ground. But I believe India was still not ready for him. The overall performance from India was not as expected.
1552  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can i download electrum for Bitcoin storage? on: June 11, 2023, 02:40:25 PM
I’m trying to download electrum to store my Bitcoin as I no longer want to use blockchain anymore since it’s not well secured. I don’t know if I should check on App Store and download electrum from there or I search on goggle?
You can download an Electrum wallet through play store depending the phone you are using, if you are using iPhone you can use an app store but if you are using android phone you can go with a play store to download Electrum wallet and perform your registration and write out your seed phrase immediately and document it safely

It is always advisable to download apps through the official site so that you won't end up downoading a clone app thinking you got the original app, take a look at this thread for example: [Warning] List of fake wallets/apps on Google Play. we still have so many other clone apps that are still in playstore that are yet to be reported.

Note that hackers are actively looking for means to gain access to your system just the slightest mistake you make that could have been avoided by using the official site can cost you alot of damage, mostly when it has to do with anything related to your finances.

I just went through the list of fake wallet apps, it's horrible. But one thing I noticed is that most of these fake apps are on Google Play, not a single app works on Apple's Appstore. I don't see any fake apps on the app store. Is it safe to use an iOS device?
By the way, as far as I know, Electrum does not have an iOS version, and that is very sad news for iPhone users. OP, if you only like to use Electrum, it can only be used on PC, if you use iPhone, it can't be used on phones, and that's really an inconvenience.
1553  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How do I secure my wallet on: June 11, 2023, 02:27:21 PM
But you should never try to memorize your 12 or 24 words seed phrase, that is a very bad advise and an easy way to lose your funds

I remember not long ago, there was a topic about memorizing seed phrases with our memory. The way he does it is to repeat the phrase several times a day. That might guarantee that he won't be able to forget it, but it's a waste of time, and if something unexpected happens, there's no guarantee he'll remember it. Everything is at risk. It's really a bad idea to store our seed phrase, too risky. I also completely disagree with this approach, and we have many ways that can be more efficient and safer.
1554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Also Girls Should Be Taught About Bitcoin on: June 11, 2023, 02:17:01 PM
My younger sister told me that how you bear your pocket money because dad doesn't give you much money without education fees. I told my sister that I have a little investment in Bitcoin and I am a short term trader (though the fund is little). She told that she learned about Bitcoin at her ICT related books. But she has not much knowledge about it. Then I tried to teach him the basics of Bitcoin. At last I succeed though there are enough information to learn by my sister. She told me that she is interested to be a Bitcoin user. And already she started to keep some money from daily pocket money and after that she will invest in Bitcoin. I told that not only you but also other girls should learn about Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. She told me that she will share her experience about Bitcoin with her college friends. I am now much happy by sharing with my younger sister about Bitcoin and will be more happy if she share information and teach other friends.

It doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. If a person is interested in it and he feels that he can succeed in it, then he should begin to dive in learning and take the time to study. There is no difference male or female. There are many women who are much smarter, more reserved, cooler, more patient and have a high psychological stability than men.
The market is not created for men or women separately. It's made for people

It's great that your sister learned about bitcoin through you, but you might be making sure that she researches this issue well, because if failure comes in her life and she loses some money because of bitcoin, it is likely that she will blame you, because you led her to this

Do you agree with me that men are currently dominating women in this market? Therefore, if any women participate in the market, they should encourage and guide them enthusiastically so that they do not feel lost in this market. While bitcoin is for everyone, for some reason, there are very few women in the financial markets, and that makes the market not as diverse as other sectors. So I very much welcome and support what OP has done, I hope his sister will introduce more of her friends to the market.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 07:15:25 PM
Manchester City is currently one of the best offensive teams in the world. No matter how good Inter's defense is, I don't think they can hold out in tonight's game. At the moment I think Manchester City will score two goals in the first half and win the game comfortably.
There's only half an hour left before the grand finale starts. We will watch Haaland and his friends with great pleasure Smiley

Guys, it's obvious that Manchester City is the favorite for the title, probably everyone here should be betting on Manchester winning in regular time (me too  Cheesy)
But take into consideration that every team is not unbeatable, and despite all the quality, Haaland, Pep Guardiola being one of the best coaches and very experienced, on the other side there is a team motivated to win the title in the same way, maybe with less pressure, that has also eliminated great teams, and has 3 champions league titles already
In the same way that Manchester City has a good coach, Inter also has Inzaghi who will try to nullify Manchester City's attack, and if Inter scores a goal they can hold the game until the end, Italian teams are good defenders

Anyway, my bet today is a win in regular time for Manchester City and maybe with less than 2.5 goals, with 1.92 odds.

Good luck everyone, I'm going to watch the game now  Wink

The match between Manchester City and Inter is about to start right now. It is going to be a very interesting match to watch. Of course, Manchester City is going to be the favorite to win. But I hope they are not underestimating the capability of Inter.  This is obviously a match which is not going to have any second leg or anything. My prediction is that if this match ends in the first 90 minutes it is going to be a win for Manchester City. But if this match goes to extra time, it is going to be 70-30 in favor of Manchester City. But if this match goes to penalties, it is going to be an absolutely 50/50 fight.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: June 10, 2023, 07:01:49 PM
Neymar seems to leave the PSG team. Because Neymar could not make any record in PSG team. However, if Neymar leaves the team and joins another team, I think he will be able to increase his career tremendously.
It is still not certain for Neymar to be able to improve his career in another team if he really leaves PSG, because apart from being very dependent on the new team environment, Neymar must also be able to create good cooperation with the players in his new team. So I'm still not sure that Neymar can make his career improve and recently Neymar has also been injured frequently so that will certainly greatly hinder him from improving his career and will also hamper him in strengthening the squad within his team.
One of the main problems experienced by Neymar is injury, so that Neymar cannot play optimally throughout the season. Therefore, Neymar doesn't look good or fit to play at PSG when in fact, for me personally Neymar can still play very well and promise good results. That way, there is no problem about an adaptation because Neymar is a star which of course, it will be easy for him to adapt to his new team.

But the thing is he cannot go to any club. He cannot even go to any league in my opinion. Because we all know that he is prone to injury. So if he does go to the English Premier League, he will be facing more injuries. Because the English Premier League competition is really Fast paced. That is not going to sort his body at all.

I am still very positive that the true potential of Neymar has not been unlocked yet. He actually spent his whole life living under the shadow of someone else. When he went to PSG, he wanted to make a name for himself, but that’s when the injury problems started. I believe he should go to another club, but he will have to take care of his body.
1557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 10, 2023, 11:28:44 AM
If you invest with knowledge, it cannot be called gambling, but if you invest without knowledge, it is gambling. So there is nothing wrong with some people saying that investing in bitcoin is gambling because it involves risk, involves winning and losing. But not just with cryptocurrencies, I think all financial markets are like that. It's all gambling if one has no knowledge of it, and it would be an investment for those with the knowledge.

Whatever it is, it's just a name, it doesn't really matter to me. If gambling can make a profit and enrich me, I don't have too much of a problem with that name.
1558  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 10, 2023, 11:18:41 AM

Do you think SEC's lawsuit case will create more damage to the BTC price ?

Is it possible for all crypto exchange companies in the US to avoid SEC's trouble ?.

It all depends on the outcome of this battle, if the SEC wins with Binance and Coinbase, the rest of the exchanges will be their next victims, and even the entire crypto industry will fall victim to the SEC. So far, the SEC hasn't taken any action on bitcoin as they don't know where to start since bitcoin is decentralized. But I think once they crack down on the top exchanges, followed by the crypto industry, bitcoin will definitely suffer.
Many people do not care and do not support this case, but we need to note one thing. Binance and Coinbase or other exchanges are holding a sizable amount of bitcoin, though not all. So there will be big impacts if the SEC wins.
1559  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your bitcoin May/June price analysis? on: June 10, 2023, 11:05:25 AM
Beginning in June I was optimistic that the market would soon reach $ 30k, unfortunately too many FUDS so that the market continues to be corrected, the best thing now is to continue to buy and make bitcoin as a long -term asset, I predict if the bear market is not over and maybe until August
That's a very high price guys, let's think realistically even since the beginning of this year the price movement of Bitcoin has not moved significantly, I do not believe that we will see a price of $ 40k to $ 50k in the next few months.
this June I think the price of Bitcoin will remain stable without any significant price movement.

So far, bitcoin has not had too much volatility, the drop from $27k to $25,000 is too normal and insignificant. But if we look at the altcoin market today, a lot of them have been dumped, most down 15%-20%. I don't know what caused the panic in the altcoin market and led to the dumping, but I think if it continues, it will impact bitcoin then it is quite possible. June is still more than 20 days away, so it's hard to say that bitcoin won't be dumped below 25k if the negative news grows more and more.
1560  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: June 10, 2023, 10:54:53 AM
I think the bear market is not over yet, there is still a lot of pressure and it seems that the price is difficult to go up, last March I was sure that the bear market was over and the bull run was coming soon, unfortunately the market has continued to be corrected until now and looks difficult to rise again.
I think it's possible that there will indeed be a sustainable bear market. If you look at this week, there has been a -4.7% decline for bitcoin, even for some of the leading altcoins, some up to -17%.
hoping for a bull run soon it is clear that it is very difficult to expect in a situation like this where indeed the world economic crisis has not yet improved. again, this is an excellent opportunity to continue buying and holding on to what you already have.

Many altcoins were dumped today after it was reported that the Robinhood exchange delisted several top altcoins.

I always say that the bear market is not over, even if we see bitcoin surge in the first 3 months of the year. But many people rely on that signal and subjectively believe that the bear market is over. Why do we always believe that history will repeat itself but are too hasty to conclude that bear season is over? Because if calculated according to a 4-year cycle, we are only halfway through the bear season, which means that the bear season will be very long, and there is no guarantee it will end this year.
Not only because Fuds is besieging the SEC case with exchanges, but I believe there will be many difficulties waiting for us this year. I won't think about a bull market until the halving happens.
