Hi everyone.  First post.  Is anyone here a vendor who accepts bitcoins for actual goods?  I am wondering if you see Bitcoins as a competitive advantage giving you more sales or just a useful payment method?

Bill

Hello all, Paul here.

I made my first bitcoin out of thin air (and GPU cycles) a week ago, and today spent it at pyramining, which looks like a very cool idea.  Mining without the mining.

On other hand, mining is pretty addictive, and my little nvidia gpu is looking pretty sad, more so now that pyramining has joined p2pool, which is where I made my coin.

I am toying with the idea of getting an AMD gpu, 7 series.  I do some gaming too so it won't be single use.  Decisions.

I note that btc is going up well against the USD and AUD, I finally have a way to purchase online, so bought a small amount the other day, which are already worth more than they cost.

All is cool.

Hello, all.  I’m Junko.

I first learned about bitcoins just a few weeks ago when I was looking for US friendly online poker sites and found Seals With Clubs Poker. At first, I was like, “WTF, Bitcoins? Hmm… well, it seems like these bitcoin things are worth something. What the heck, I’ll give it a go.” I’m now up to 2.225 BTC from playing their hourly freerolls.

While playing and building up my roll playing poker on Seals, I’ve been learning about btcoin from here and other sites. I only wish I had learned about them sooner.

Anyway, to make a long story even longer, I bought 25 bitcoin yesterday and hope to make more through trading and playing poker.

Thanks to all the members here who have freely shared their knowledge, insights and opinions on this forum in all aspects regarding Bitcoin. Its been a great help for a bitnewb like me to get started and get more in-depth information from others who actually own/utilize bitcoin. I look forward to learning more.

Hopefully in the future, when I become more knowledgeable and expert, I’ll be able to contribute something to the excellent discussions here and maybe help out other newbies.

Cheers!

Look into my company for a investment on the GLBSE https://glbse.com/asset/view/BITCOINMINV and welcome!

BITCOIN FOOTBALL POOL

Here is how it works, Every week you pick your teams that you think are going to win.
Put .25 bitcoins into the pot, all the funds are added up and the winner with the most points for that week takes home 60% of the funds. 25% is put toward the season winner at the end from each of the rounds. 5% For my administrative work.
Each time your team wins you get 1 point to your season score, the players with the top 25% of the score will get to play in the finals for the pot.
Finals are all post season games, the player with the highest score at the end of them is the winner of the grande pot!
During playoff's all scores are dropped from the regular season, these games will have a different score system.

If you want to play leave your team picks, ill send you a deposit address and I will confirm you picks and payment has been received.
This weeks games to bet on.

THIS IS THE POST FORMAT
Date of Game - Who VS Who     Winner
Aug 16     Cincinnati At Atlanta    Atlanta
Aug 16   Cleavland At Green Bay  Green bay

Ill try to update it at least twice a day.

Welcome, and good to see things are still going strong here.

This is my first post, as I work on getting set up with ABCPool, and Bitcoin in general.  (Been interested in the theory for a while, but just started actually getting involved.)

Thanks, and have a great day!

So what everyone is saying is they need legit lender on the forum that does not charge 3000% APR. The deposit rate of 1% interest return a week is not bad if your charging 10.5% per week. All these problems go along with decentralized currency and it is up to the community itself to decided what they will and will not except from people.

I have heard of this project before a bit and am trying it out now.  I was crunching for gpu grid for a bit and am finding that boinc gpu crunching and bitcoin do not play nice together.  Oh well.

I am having a bad time trying to set up namecoin and getting it running but one thing at a time.

glad to be here.
