It's got to be on my side because it's only like that in Chrome, no problem with Firefox... any idea what could be causing this ? (Win7)
Is the issue gone now or not ?

Besides that, I've been using your pool for a while now and really enjoy it, keep up the good work  ;)
Thanks, you are welcome :)
1542  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 08:19:18 AM
That's why I said a day, not a few hours or so.
Actually a whole two weeks can be more than 15% off.
It's normal for days to be +-30%.
1543  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 05:20:24 AM
Guess I'll just run it the other way for a day and check the stats.
Yes, but you should remember that the luck can be different each day :)
1544  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 05:17:01 AM
Ah, I see.

Which one would give better results with a single 6950 (~300mhash)?
Oh, not again :) Please, read this thread and tell me - what exactly is not clear in the description ? :)

It doesn't depends on your speed. You choose between stable income and luck-dependent one.
1545  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 05:10:04 AM
How exactly do you change between the two, by the way? I couldn't find any related option under the account options.
Mode can be changed separately for each worker on it's properties page.
1546  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 10 - 15k in mining equipment on: May 02, 2011, 05:08:51 AM
2x5850 per case is VERY bad configuration. You'll need 0.5 PC per each GPU.
With 2x5970 you'll need only 0.25 PC per GPU, that's very noticeable difference.
The cost of a single 5970 is more than the PC + 5850's combined.  I don't see any money-savings there.  If you buy two 5970's and put them in the $250 base computer, you'll spend $1550 and get about 1200 MH/s.  If you buy two 5850's and put them in the $250 base computer, you'll spend $550 and get nearly 600 MH/s.
Oh sorry, i didn't knew that 5970 is twice as expensive in your country.

Seems many thing happened while i was sleeping & after i woke up, i saw everything running smooth only.
You didn't missed anything, it was only a few minutes long.
1548  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 10 - 15k in mining equipment on: May 02, 2011, 04:13:45 AM
I'd go for AM3 sempron rigs with 1GB ram, Corsair 650W PSU, random mobo (whatever's cheap and has two PCIe x16 slots), $20 ATX case, and recertified HDD.  Then add two 5850's.  Total cost should be about $550/machine, and it'll give you more mhash/price than anything else you can build.  Just build as many of them as you want to spend money on, and use some form of Linux for the mining setup.

А он уже пусть сам ломает голову, как эти деньги выводить.
Главное ему лапшу на уши навешать  уверенным голосом, что вывести будет несложно.
Aga, pervyi takoi sluchai byl kogda odin bitcoin user ubedil drugogo zakazat' emu pizzu za 10 000 BTC i eto srabotalo.
1550  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 03:38:45 AM
so you are the same person i chat with last night?
Yes.

So if the pool as a whole have lower than normal "luck" when compared to the entire BTC mining community, I will get lower BTC if choose Proportional?
Not compared to the community. Luck should be measured by comparing average number of shares per block to current difficulty.

This is what I am understanding:
1. When the pool operates at normal to above normal luck:
PPS gives lower BTC, while proportional gives higher BTC.
2. When pool operates at normal to below normal luck:
PPS gives higher BTC, while proportional gives lower BTC.
Yes, but...
1) Luck is different for each round.
2) PPS income is the same in both cases.

Does how powerful a CPU or GPU change the above facts?
No.
1551  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 03:35:48 AM
The current explanation is ok, I just think people would like seeing some estimated figured for either choice based on their performance.
It's the most asked question ever :)

About the calculator - using "last 24h stats" is wrong because future results do not depend on past ones, so luck can be -15% all the night, but then instantly turn to +15%, for example.
It may work as "sample values", but people should know that they must not make decisions on PAST data.
1552  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Windows Gadget: Miner Status on: May 02, 2011, 02:22:37 AM
ok.. newb question for sure :p
How do I figure out what my deepbit API key is?
It's on your settings page.
1553  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit.net. Pay per share or Proportional? Which is better? on: May 02, 2011, 02:15:27 AM
Mining for deepbit.net.
They have pay per share, and proportional to choose from.
Which is better for high end GPU?
and which is better for CPU? or low end GPU?
You can help me to improve PPS/Prop description on the site - tell me, what should I change to make it more clear ? :)

Choose PPS if you want a bit lower, but very stable income or Proportional if you are feeling that pool is at normal or higher-than-normal luck.

European server will be rebooted shortly, this will pause mining for 2 minutes and will only affect 20% of users.
If you see some problems with RPC connection during this time - it means that your DNS server is not respecting TTL field and you should consider using some good and fast DNS like Google Public DNS

EDIT: Reboots are over, everything is fine.

I just switched deepbit to another server.
Sorry for this pause :)
Did you switch servers because of the outage our as an upgrade?
Technical problems unrelated to mining, don't worry - it will not affect you. As you may see (well, after the one hour delay :), some nice blocks were found around this time.

I hope that m0mchil or Kiv will implement my failover extension soon so the switching will be instant in case of something like this.

my client is mining and successfully connected but it is not listed green in My Account settings :/ damn =( can somebody help me?
It should be blue approximately at least once per hour.
Number of received shares should be greater than 0, but you may need to wait ~20-60 minutes for this.

2 MH/s is a VERY slow mining speed because you are mining with your CPU.
GPU miners run on average at 100-600 MH/s, so their stats are much easier to track on the site.
1558  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~270 Gh/s Mining Pool] INSTANT PAYOUT,+1% with LP! +0.8% for no failed blocks! on: May 01, 2011, 11:14:30 AM
I justed tested your service. My ufasoft miner is running with 2mhash since 30minutes but in My Account I can not see any activity! Is it required to run the official client while mining with a rpc?
No.
Average time to generate one share with 2 MH/s is 35 minutes and 47 seconds
So there may be no activity even for one hour (depends on your luck).
When a valid share will be received from you, worker name in the table will turn blue - it means that everything is working.

Remember that balance and blocks history are updated once per hour.

Seen any botnet activity on your pool?
I have no reasons to suspect my users of illegal activity yet.

...says they have seen some
might pay to watch out.
That's a very strange decision.
Of course i'm not going to close registration, new users are welcome :)
