15461  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam - Cryptual ICO - Fake Team on: September 06, 2018, 12:51:52 AM
But wait! There's more!

This guy isn't even part of your team. He's just an advisor. Yet he, like the rest of your team, seems to have picked a generic stock photo and then flipped it!

It strikes me as a bit strange that all your team members and advisors were in a super secret pact to all pick flipped stock photos for their picture, but not mention it to you. How peculiar!

Also, I'm laughing pretty hard at all the pictures on your website disappearing one by one. Your team is shrinking rapidly, haha.

In any case, thank you for pointing out the discrepancy, administration will investigate the issue further to ensure this is no more than a mistake, rather than a purposeful act by a team member of ours.

It is designed this way on purpose... we had assumed this thread well before it was posted.

You might want to try getting your story straight, scammer.

15463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Diamond/ BCD coin of the day on: September 05, 2018, 10:57:48 PM
What about that old Silk Road wallet that has been inactive for 4 years? It just started moving money around again, maybe they started to sell.
They moved those coins and bought BCD? A hard to believe story, the reason for this must be something else.

Nah, I meant more that they moved those coins and sold them for fiat, dropping the price, triggering a chain of stop-losses, and then the dump down to $6,950 that we saw earlier, with the BCD pump-and-dump just being coincidental timing.

Not saying that did happen though, just speculating.

Here's the difference between science and religion:

While science is busy inventing the internet, curing diseases and putting men in to space, religion is busy foaming at the mouth with whatever you want to call that incoherent rant in the previous post.
15467  Other / Meta / Re: Most entertaining person on bitcointalk - POLL - 12 days - 3 votes per member on: September 05, 2018, 03:12:17 PM
Dude, are you feigning ignorance or you truly don't know that it's an offence to own an alt? It might not have been a problem from Genesis but there's something that says otherwise now somewhere in revelation here.

what the fuck does that mean? am I missing something or is this total nonsense?

For lo! It was written in Genesis 14:3-5 (New International Bitcointalk Version):

Quicksy fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many alts. No longer will you be called Quicksy; your name will be Quickseller, for I have made you a father of many alts."

But do not fear my children. Instead, rejoice! For in Revelation 9:3-6 (NIBCTV) we are told:

And out of the smoke locusts came down on the forum and were given power like that of scorpions of the forum. They were told not to harm the grass of the forum or any plant or tree, but only those people who were using alts. They were not allowed to kill them but only to ban them forever. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. During those days people will seek unbans but will not find them; they will long to be unbanned, but unbanning will elude them.
15468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops sharply by about 300$ today! on: September 05, 2018, 01:20:32 PM
So when the price increases by 5%, you like to say, it increased a lot, it starts to go to the moon, it's huge!
But when the price decreases by 5% just over an hour, you say, it's not a lot, it's nothing, ect...

It's like when we were on the big bullrun and everyone was praising the unregulated market, talking about how great it is that crypto is free from regulations, etc. And then as soon as we starting dropping everyone was shouting for regulations to reduce volatility and help to stabilize the price.

People are funny/stupid.
15469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Diamond/ BCD coin of the day on: September 05, 2018, 01:15:36 PM
What about that old Silk Road wallet that has been inactive for 4 years? It just started moving money around again, maybe they started to sell. Either that or Bitcoin Diamond pump and dump being arbitraged as mentioned.

Still, calling BCD the "coin of the day" is laughable. It's a piece of trash. It will dump back down to nothing soon enough.
15470  Other / Meta / Re: Politics and Society Censored unfairly on: September 05, 2018, 12:23:02 PM
Maybe we should move this thread to Politics and Society, and then when Hellfish doesn't nuke it we'll know that no one is being censored.

People need to stop blaming others for their own problems or lack of success.

So much this. I have no problem paying taxes to fund programs to help out people who have, through no fault of their own, ended up in hardship - serious illnesses/disabilities preventing people from working or forcing them to provide care to relatives, unexpected deaths, natural disasters, that kind of thing. I'm definitely not "rich", but I worked damned hard to get to where I am in life, and I continue to work damn hard to provide for my family, and I'm fed up of being forced to subsidize the lazy.
15471  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 05, 2018, 12:13:33 PM
That's insane!
I wonder what would be the results of the same analysis in Altcoin Discussion board knowing it is the most crowded board by replies/posts right now.

Altcoin Discussion works out similarly to Bitcoin Discussion, at a ratio of 4.36.

Now, if you sort by new threads in Bitcoin Discussion (and therefore include no spam-megathreads in the analysis) the ratio increases from 3.81 to 6.51. If you do the opposite, and only include threads with >200 posts, the ratio drops to 3.40. Some of the individual spam threads are coming in with ratios below 3.

I think this correlates with what we all suspect - no one is going in to a spam thread with 10+ pages of replies, and reading what is written. Half the time they don't even read the OP. They just churn out a line or two that has almost certainly been said before, that no one else will ever read.
15472  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 05, 2018, 11:09:42 AM
I doubt anyone actually reads threads anymore, and instead just reads the title and makes a quick post for a couple stakes.

You just got me thinking, so I performed a quick and dirty snapshot audit and analysis:

I just copy-and-pasted the first page of a selection of boards, dumped them in to excel, summed all the replies and all the views, then divided total 1st page views by 1st page replies to get a ratio of views per reply. In other words, for each reply posted, how many views are there, per board.

The results are exactly as expected:

Development & Technical Discussion: 19.57
Technical Support: 21.11
Project Development: 56.53
Economics: 32.56
Meta: 18.69

Bitcoin Discussion: 3.81.
This is about 10% of the average ratio of the less spammy boards. I think this is proof that people aren't viewing threads on Bitcoin Discussion out of interest in the topic or replies, they are doing it to pad their post count.

-snip-

You're definitely getting a vote for that one.
15474  Other / Meta / Re: Politics and Society Censored unfairly on: September 04, 2018, 11:12:53 PM
I mean, there's literally a thread entitled "Socialism vs capitalism ,which one is good for us ??" that begins with the words:

In my opinion Socialism is good for us.

Flying Hellfish has been a good mod. He cleans up the spam without censoring anyone. I've seen him disagree strongly with BADecker numerous times, but he has never once tried to censor him. I would struggle to believe he is doing that to you now.

15476  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN][BGL]🔥Bitglo Exchange ATTENTION 🔥 on: September 04, 2018, 10:32:47 PM
This is good work. You should move this thread/post a link in the Scam Accusations Board. You will get more visibility there, and you might get some Default Trust members to tag the offending account with negative trust.

Fuck, that is genius.. cant work out if I respect the effort needed to do this or admire the crazy in him that made him do it...

The more concerning thing that it wasn't a one time thing - he's left it to multiple people over a 6 month period. How does someone live their life in such a constant state of endless rage? Surely you get tired out eventually? Or does he just keep going till he has a stroke?
15478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: LedgerWallet - 24 Seed Phrases and one Word is missing/lost on: September 04, 2018, 08:00:59 PM
First thing to do is to check all the words are in the BIP39 word list here: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt

If they are not, then one is misspelled. Easy. If they are all in the list, then you need to brute force it.

That means you'll have to brute-force it. I haven't tried this myself, but I assume there's software out there to do this.

There is indeed. Take a look at: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/docs/Seedrecover_Quick_Start_Guide.md

Alternatively we could use the untrusted feedback abuse as the decider of how effective they are as a DT.

I dream of one day pissing a scammer off so much they leave 30+ pages of "Ass giving people negative feedback for no reason" on my trust page. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=740675
