and we still have a non confirmation in the Transports.
15462  Economy / Speculation / Re: I just went full long with 1000+ Bitcoins. on: March 27, 2012, 03:40:40 PM
i certainly doubt it.  i'm willing to bet many early adopters have long since already sold most of their coins or lost them.  the pessimism was extreme back in November.

Not me! I doubled my holdings through trading Smiley And I will keep them and keep adding to them for the long term =)

Good for you!  i meant the non-smart ones!

Sadly several of my recent shorts are stopped out breakeven, seems gold still have some momentum, waiting for China's mass production come in second half year

There might be a problem. Just like BTC, what if chinese just mine the gold and keep them? With each price raise, they mine more gold and store them in the reserve, and their spending is by loan backed by these gold/silver reserve, so the actual availability of gold/silver is not getting higher, the price will go further up. Then, after FED begin to tighten, they can not get loan and try to sell gold/silver, then there will be a huge crash due to less liquidity

From this view, I tend to change towards long side in the coming years, at least until FED tightens

it won't take that long.

I have learned countless times to ignore walls..

They say nothing..

thats not entirely true.

yes, ppl can try to manipulate them but it comes at great risk as they might not be able to get out of the way of a market order which sweeps thru their wall.

also, true buyers and sellers do put up limit orders in plain sight in hopes of catching a wave of buying or selling thru their orders when they're asleep.  they're happy to accept the execution at that price point regardless.

this one is real.  it hasn't budged and any sellers or shorters are welcome to take the money now.

here's a couple of warnings for stock bulls.  TLT is rising which is another form of the fear trade aka deflation.  it bottomed 6 days ago.  they rose all during the 2008 crash.

the VIX is skating along the bottom and not heading lower.  there is a long term baseline that hasn't broken in years.  thats where we're at.

We really need historic depth.

yes ideally.  but if you're a Bear who's shorting, you'd have to say the same thing about ask depth.

today is a big day. for me if the Dow gets up over the 3/15 high and stays there, i have a problem short term with both my stock and pm shorts.  it wouldn't be a given though and i've set myself a deadline for the final roll which is the end of April.  if we get beyond that date then i'm wrong.  this is based on my cycle work.

Is it not possible for the Dow to go up through the end of April and still have a PM crash?  I would stick with your pm short for a while longer after you get rid of your stock short.

thats a long way off and it'll depend on what the market structure looks like at that point.

edit:  but i'd be on HIGH alert for a crash starting right about now.
15470  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Wall of March 26 on: March 27, 2012, 02:07:24 PM
the last time we had a wall of this size and determination was at $2.  i was a part of that.  i think we have a new bottom.

I thought the wall at $2 was much bigger? like 4x as many BTC and 2x as many $s

not that i remember.  it was only around $130K.  correct me if i'm wrong.

Could something like this remove the risc of transfer between two computers.

LOK-IT Secure Flash Drive
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2381269,00.asp

Or perhaps this company should make a safe bitcoin storage?

the problem is that once you plug it in to your online pc and unlock it, the contents are exposed to a USB specific exploit that could load malware onto it.  unlikely, but still possible.

15476  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh joy on: March 27, 2012, 05:23:24 AM
Just got home from work.  I've seen this before.  Don't care.  Price will probably be lower in the morning.  Good night.

don't forget to "cover" up before you go to sleep. Wink
15477  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh joy on: March 27, 2012, 05:21:11 AM
the longer this wall stays in place the more buying pressure sellers will feel.  shorts will start to get nervous and we've already seen some short covering i'm sure.  the price should slowly rise; or even faster if the buyers forming the bid wall get impatient and decide to start hitting the ask prices.
15478  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh joy on: March 27, 2012, 05:16:17 AM

Thanks, I understand it a little better now. But I don't understand how to factor in the graphs with the lines. On orange, you can buy 80,000BTC at $4.20?

It means if you sold 80,000 right now at market price, it will push the price down to $4.20, because you'd "eat up" all the orders of people offering to buy.

another way to say it is that if you go from the right end of the orange line up the mountain to the left, you are cumulatively stacking the number of btc's to be bought at a certain price on top of the btc's to be bought from the previous prices.
15479  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh joy on: March 27, 2012, 05:09:45 AM
one of them may be starting to hit the asks right now.
