Two upsets with both EG and Liquid losing, but yeah, mad props to OG. Guaranteed top 3 finish and so happy for them. Arteezy's fault I feel, he left EG playing 4v5 while he farmed, but never really came online.

I'll say it again, if only OG didn't have to resort to such incredible comebacks to win, but man they deserved it.

Check out the look N0tail gave Fly after the game: https://clips.twitch.tv/CarelessLitigiousTireSeemsGood
Must be so satisfying for N0tail to beat them.

Give me a break, one win and one lose from Manchester united and they are out from the champion race?

It's not the 1 win, 1 loss, but their style of play. Slow, sloppy, and directionless. Klopp, Pep, even Sarri have a clear style of play that the team are working towards together. Man Utd seem to rely on De Gea performing a miracle and throwing money at the attacking problem and hope it sorts itself out.
15583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dota 2 - The international 2018 on: August 22, 2018, 04:18:01 PM
Just realised that in the upper bracket yesterday, group A teams went 8-0 against group B teams.

Suggests group A was the stronger group, and since both EG and Liquid went 13-3 in that group, I'm predicting an EG - Liquid Upper Bracket Final and Grand Final.
15584  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The difference between science and religion on: August 22, 2018, 04:06:37 PM
I was wondering how long it would take BADecker to show up and completely miss the point.

If you could take all the other religions of the world and destroy them, you still would have your religion of destruction of religions. But that is what you are trying to do, isn't it?

Firstly, that wouldn't be a religion, and secondly, it's completely irrelevant.

As long as science has science theory as part of it, science is never the same. Why not? Because science theory changes daily as it is adapted to new findings in science.

That's entirely the point. Science adjusts its views to new evidence. Religion doesn't. However, if science was wiped out and started again, it would find exactly the same evidence for the big bang, the age of the Earth, evolution, etc. New religions would be entirely different, as has been historical proven many times.

1 + 1 = 2 is not a provable concept. It might be a provable in a virtual, visualized way. But 1 + 1 does not = 2 in reality, because there are no two things that are exactly the same. This means that 1 + 1 will always = 1 + 1.

1 + 1 = 2 is absolutely provable, and has been done so many times. Silly word play about things being different doesn't change a mathematical proof.

Perhaps you should take your own advice to learn about things before talking about them.
15585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thinkers of 2011 can be our motivators on: August 22, 2018, 09:52:10 AM
Some interesting quotes in those threads. People selling if it drops to $8 to recover their losses, or commending people for having the patience to wait until $100 to sell to make serious profits.

The parallel with today is obvious. If you are in this for the long-term, then stop worrying about daily price fluctuations. Accept that the tech is revolutionary and not going away - buy, hold, stop checking the price daily, and have patience. Check back in a few years and see where we are. If the guy in those threads who planned to sell at $8 to recover his losses had more patience, he'd be a millionaire today.

Christianity for example has lasted more than 2000 years. On what basis then do you say that it won't be around in the next 1000 years?

Egyptian gods were worshiped for a few thousand years. Now gone. Greek gods. Now gone. Old Norse religion. Gone. Semitic religion. Gone. Mesopotamian religion. Gone. Babylonian. Gone. Celtic polytheism. Gone. Etc. Etc. Etc.

The number of extinct religions vastly outnumbers the number of practicing religions. On what basis then do you say that Christianity will still be around in 1000 years, especially since we are proving more and more of Christian doctrine demonstrably false?

BTC will increase strongly again in the future

Of course it will. But BCH won't. Don't confuse Bitcoin with BitcoinTrash - you will lose a lot of money if you do.

people will not use Bitcoins to buy things with they will use another crypto currency, and here Bitcoin cash has a really good chance to be that cryptocurrency.

There are at least 10 other cryptos I can name off the top of my head that work better than BitcoinTrash as a currency, and aren't centralized pump-and-dump schemes.
15588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dota 2 - The international 2018 on: August 22, 2018, 09:20:48 AM
OG are just unbelievable. Another amazing comeback for them against Storm. If only they could play that well all game long and then not need to pull off such amazing comebacks, they would be serious contenders to win it. That gives them a minimum top 6 finish - so happy for N0tail after the shitty year he has had.

Also, this line from Sumail was the highlight of the day:

"What do you think is the biggest obstacle between you and the Aegis?"
"Artour"

3 months ago it was at 0.18 BTC. Now it's at 0.08 BTC. It's dying a long slow death as Wu and Ver run out of newbies to dump this trash on.

I love the look of Keita too.

This play by Keita was absolutely sublime: https://www.clippituser.tv/c/ypzabp

I agree, your team looks phenomenal this season. Salah took a few games to get going last season, and might be doing the same now, but Mane has hit the ground running, so to speak.

I think it's either you or City for the title, especially after Spurs making no signings and the same old tired Man Utd.

This section of the Bill Nye - Ken Ham debate sums it up perfectly.

"What, if anything, would ever change your mind."

Religious answer - nothing.

Scientific answer - evidence.

"Breaking: Bitmain insider says Jihan and team just revised down year budget from revenue of $8 bln down to $3 bln"

If it is true, things are not going as it supposed to be, or maybe new arrangements are being made.

I'd like to see a source, but this is hilarious if true. "Things are not going as it supposed to be" is probably a bit of an understatement. They went all-in on BitcoinTrash, own the majority of the supply, the price is tanking and they are running out of newbies to unload this scam on to. Their own fault, and they will find no sympathy.
15593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 97% bitcoin gold crash should feel like a bad omen to you on: August 21, 2018, 03:55:08 PM
Have you been to Telegram, Discord, btg forum, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit?
In total they have over 100k followers.
Maybe you just aren’t looking..

And the Garlicoin subreddit has 117k subscribers. Doesn't make it a legitimate project.

I'm actually laughing now that I've realized this. A meme coin created on reddit solely for "the lols" has a bigger following than Bitcoin Gold.

You are bag holding trash. Sell it ASAP.

15594  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10million in 2023 possible? on: August 21, 2018, 03:43:24 PM
I don't know at the time of $10 million what is the fee of a transaction? It is probably $10,000 for once. Although the analysis seems reasonable, it is difficult.

That is not how Bitcoin fees work. They are based on the byte size of the input, regardless of the price of Bitcoin at the time. Fees would go up solely because the price per satoshi had gone up, but the fees could still be as low as 1-2 satoshi/byte. It would work out as something like $20-30 for a 1 input transaction.

Still, this is all hypothetical because this is never going to happen.  Grin

Yup...  Me too.  I guess this will be another early donation for this season for me.  If by the fifth or sixth week I don't improve, I quit.  Enjoy my donation.  Grin

I got 0 - 2 in the Palace vs LFC match.

Oh, come on toke, you're way in there and even right now, the bottom (me) and the top doesn't have such a terrible gap to close. Round 1 2 guys managed to get 18 points or more so if I do that, I'll have almost closed the gap (heh heh).

As hilarious also stated in his first post, there are also weekly prizes for best predictions in that individual week. So even if you are way behind in last place, with no chance to win outright, you still have something to play for. Don't give up!
15596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaire Tricked Into Exchanging $2.3 Million BTC For Forge on: August 20, 2018, 07:49:14 PM
Why would you be trading 2 million euros worth of crypto for bank notes in a hotel room? There's obviously shady dealings going on here - money laundering, drug money, or something similar.

Still, apparently one of the two scammers has already been found and arrested by police, so their scam didn't exactly last long.  Grin
15597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Valueless Altcoins, what to do. on: August 20, 2018, 07:43:06 PM
There is no such thing as "occupying space". A wallet will never become full regardless of how many trash coins you have in it. There is also no way to "delete" them - the only way to get them out of your wallet is to send them to another address.

Also maybe stop signing up for bounties/airdrops/ICOs/whatever for trash/scam coins.
15598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins portfolio 2018 on: August 20, 2018, 07:38:44 PM
At least 50% of your holdings should be in BTC. You might get lucky with a random altcoin pump, but for the vast majority they just follow Bitcoin. You are increasing your risk much more than you are increasing your potential gains by not holding >50% BTC.

Also, EOS is a centralized scam. Sell it ASAP.
15599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dota 2 - The international 2018 on: August 20, 2018, 07:25:30 PM
Really happy OG went 6-2 during the second half of the group stages and pulled themselves in to the upper bracket like I thought they would.

EG looking pretty solid throughout the group stages - really looking forward to their round one match against Secret. I think that will be a very close series.

A friend in my fantasy football league sent me the following:
