1561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 02, 2022, 09:18:09 PM
^Same! I only have 3 early bets on the line. I thought the parlay games today will be profitable but it seems like it's actually unpredictable.
As I look at the opponents of the favorites, most of them have the possibility to snatch the win.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Orlando Magic - Cavs -10.5
San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Pelicans - Pelicans -7.5
Utah Jazz vs Indiana Pacers - Jazz -4.5

3 teams that I was not accurately sure to cover. I wish they can. Good luck to everyone.

I just like the Utah Jazz vs Pacers handicap at -4.5. Yes there are a lot of games to be covered by us, so very hard to choose which one is going to be profitable for us.

But it seems that the Jazz team has somewhat playing good against a low tier team like Indiana so I'm going to put money on them. Same with my betting in the last couple of weeks (although wasn't able to post it here), will do live betting, much better for me because we see how the game is turning and we have our own hunch.
1562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So USDT is what's keeping TRX alive? on: December 02, 2022, 08:54:04 PM
Now, I can say that Tron is only being used by the USDT, whether you are going to make transactions to another wallet or want to swap some Tron Coin. Secondly, the Tron has a faster transaction speed as compared to the polygon chain. I think, in the past, there was more usage of Tron as compared to now, and the reasons are above.

It could have a faster network transaction, but if no one is using it, then even that advantage will not be seen by anyone.

And so it's true, we've seen a lot of USDT transaction and obviously, you can't do any without TRX and so that is the only usage for them as this point. They are totally reliant on USDT to keep them alive, so to speak. Tether has been asked for a full audit but they don't want to, and so we don't know if they are running on fractional reserves or not. So if by chance they collapse then it will also spell doomed for Tron.
1563  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 02, 2022, 08:34:35 PM
I erroneously voted 'No', while I wanted to vote for 'Yes'.
I personally think we have hit the bottom for this cycle, but do not really have some technical analysis to back that up. It's of course an unpredictable market and can still go much lower than this, or have a dead cat bounce and then dip again.

No problem mate, as for me, I voted for No,

We still have the next year and we might see another worst year and so I predicted that we might still go North a couple of thousands of dollars. Heck, we might hear another exchanges just collapsing on the pressures of the bear market 2023. And so as much as we wanted to think that we have hit the bottom already, we might see the worst next year, just saying.
1564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 02, 2022, 08:10:10 PM
In two days Tyson Fury is going to have a third fight against Derek Chisora and YuginKadoya seems to be the only one who remember it, as there were only few posts about this fight during last 30 days. It is time to wake up boxing fans Cheesy Why so silent ? No one is going to watch this fight ? Aged Chisora is no longer dangerous? Because Chisora havent won anyone convincingly since 2019? Undefeated WBC champion is about to have a belt defence, or even might have his last fight before retirement, and people show low interest in that fight. Strange...
Because Fury cherry-picked someone that has zero chance of becoming a world champion. What's more strange is he already beat the better versions of Chisora twice and they aren't even close. And with Chisora picking this fight in less than 2 months, Fury can probably carry the fight and can decide which round he will stop Chisora.

DAZN has the better event this weekend. The trilogy between Roman Gonzales and Juan Francisco Estrada.

But still it is a WBC belt fight. It cant be not interesting. Who cares if it is a cherry-picked fight or not, both fighters will get this fight in their record and huge money rewards. Besides, this is a heavyweight fight; a fight where a single punch can be a game changer. Anyway, strange that no one is interested in that fight, and to see a daily discussion of a boxer against youtuber fights (Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo, or Logan vs anyone).

I'm interested with this fight because when Fury fights, the fight is very exciting to watch. However, I just hope that he would choose a good opponent, someone who has a championship caliber, not an old boxer that are close to retirement age already. By the way, I love Roman Gonzales and Juan Francisco Estrada than this one.

We might be interested back with real fight instead of discussing exhibitions, good fighter
will come up since the pandemic hits the economy but now that some recovery is showing
we might see more fights. I mean more interesting fights that will be offered to the fans,

we might be seeing cherry-picks, but better than watching charity fights that more on the moneymaking and not an actual fight that we will see real punches and close fist engagements.

Right, at least in cherry picking your opponents, there are chances that he might hit you with what we call Hail Mary punch and knock you out. As compare to like this exhibitions fight, there is no excitement because it's going to be just an exhibition and that's why there are boxing fans who doesn't want to watch it.

But since we are back in the normal already, we have seen great fights already this calendar year and even before it ends there are still a lot of exciting fights in the horizon, like the Roman Gonzalez vs Juan Francisco Estrada trilogy.
1565  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin December price on: December 01, 2022, 09:09:28 PM
I wouldn't say that there will be bullish again this December, because from the overall sentiments, we are still very much on the bullish state. But there could be some spike in the price this December. Maybe at least getting to the former lowest low of $17,500 will be a good target at least for me.

Yes, we did hit $17k earlier or in the last 24 hours, but now the price is slowly going down again to $16,800-$16,900.

So it means there are traders who maybe bought with the price hits $15k and trying to make some money at this price.
1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 01, 2022, 08:50:34 PM

Dimitry Bivol being tired of Canelo Alvarez's excuses just stated that he is willing to fight him at 168lbs.  So Canelo won't have any excuses that it is not his natural weight division.  This is very interesting in the development of their rematch, I wonder if the match would include the defense of Canelo's current title.  Would be exciting if it would be  Grin.

I don't think Eddie Hearn and Canelo will agree to contest the fight at 168 lbs. or that dumb enough to even consider that idea Grin Dmitry Bivol would loved to visit Canelo in his division where he doesn't have any titles to risk whereas Canelo got everything to lose, and if ever Canelo's camp will agree but with no titles on the line, I wouldn't be surprised that Bivol won't give him any attention because what's there to fight or where's the challenge if there will be no titles on the line. I think it will be unfair for Bivol because he also risked his belt during their first encounter.

Why not? This will be a true test for Canelo, how good he really is, by accepting Bivol to go down in weight.

And isn't it that will be in his advantage? Bivol is not a 168 lbs, he never fought in this division in his career. So all advantage points to Canelo in this fight, so why not give it to Bivol?

So yeah, we will hear another excuses for Canelo and Hearn, or maybe they will include like rehydration clause that Bivol can't go and rehydrate to this x weight during the fight. Meaning he can still weight drain Bivol even if he made 168 lbs in their fight night.
1567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 01, 2022, 08:32:40 PM
Tomorrow 13 games. Trail Blazers will play again and now it's versus the LA Lakers. High chance the Lakers will get the W here in a blowout game.

That is a lot of games again. I like it when there are lots of game, plenty of games to bet on.

The Lakers will need that win against Portland tomorrow because after that they will be on the road against 500 teams in the east. If they do not win it, they will be on a long losing streak again. I think their next 5 games are against 500 teams.

The next 10 games for the Lakers would be a tough one as they will once again face those teams above .500 just like how they started the season. Somehow, I've seen a better improvements and a good bounce back tonight against the Blazers. I thought they're gonna blow out another huge lead again.

I looked up on their upcoming games and just like you said, they will be having tough games until next month. The Charlotte Hornets is only the team that I can see that they won't have much hard time playing with but before that, they will have to endure a lot of tests to see if they are indeed improving this year or they are much worse than last season. Their game earlier wasn't that hard because Lillard wasn't there, they just had a nice game before the tough games ahead.

they need to keep winning and keep finding the right sets of players that will help LeBron and Davis to win the game, we see the contriutons of their role palyers.

I can say that they are getting some improvements, and if they will continue playing like this
the winning chance is possible even facing tough teams.

Adjustment and willingness to work with the system that may fit them all to play as one.

They are already winning games, although again, they won on a team without their superstar in Lillard. But the Lakers are still below the .500 mark in a very competitive West. They still need to go to at least the 6 spot to be able to go to the playoff.

Yes, very early, but who knows, LeBron and Davis might stay on the sideline again so just take advantage that they are healthy and continue to win games.

Or if they think they need to improve then probably trading or acquiring new role players will be a good options.

1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 29, 2022, 10:20:36 AM
Disappointed with the Knicks last night.  2 games in a row down to the wire and they come up on the wrong end of the game twice.  They need to learn how to win those tight games otherwise they will never get out of the lottery.  Frustrating..
The same with the Mavs they lack the power to close out games when they are on the lead. They are not weak, it's the plus-minus when their stars sit.
I am intrigued at why they keep on forcing the last plays of the game to Brunson when they have so many players that can shoot the ball or attract a foul, stop the time, and make free throws.
They did the plan, every eye is on Brunson so the next plan should be giving it to someone else who I am sure will be free.
Tomorrow they will play in Detroit. Even on road, this should be an easy game.

And speaking of Brunson, it seems that Cuban will bring back a replacement, it will be Kemba Walker,

Quote
DALLAS - Kemba Walker, once the the apple of the Dallas Mavericks' free agency eye, is nearing a deal to join the Mavs.

Walker, 32, is "in advanced talks'' to sign with Dallas, as first reported by Marc Stein. Stein, who notes that the deal could be completed "as early as this week pending physical examinations.''

The Mavs are struggling of late ... and so is Walker.

https://www.si.com/nba/mavericks/news/mavs-breaking-kemba-walker-signing-dallas-new-york-knicks-luka-doncic

Could be a win win for the Mavs and Kemba. I think Kemba can still play, he just need a team that will bring him the confidence that he had.

We know that his injury really ruined his career now, but this is his second chance and hopefully he can at least contribute 20 minutes a game and have like 10+ ppg and assists which is very important as Luka is struggling and so is the rest of the team.
1570  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC, more closer bullish days ahead. on: November 29, 2022, 09:52:36 AM
everythings looks perfect right now. I think this was necessary to get rid of those moon boy and scam project that was already creating liquidity gap for their mismanagement of uses funds. There are few more centralized entity that should be washed up for the greater good of BTC and decentralization. I am certain that we will get a better price action in BTC if those institutions back off.

From the buyers end, it really looks perfect right now because buyers will be able to buy Bitcoin at a discounted price.  But for those who had bought Bitcoin during the peak, it isn't looking good.

I think that's one beauty of this market, you can buy at a discounted, but there are those who get it on top. And so for those who bought at the top or at least $20k+ will learn how to become patience. The same with those who purchase it at cheap, they should wait for the right time to sell to get bigger profits. Just don't be greedy and we are all set to go next bull run.

Aside from that the current fiasco of FTX somehow greatly affected the recovering market and make it to dip even more.  We have not been through the FUD effect of FTX and now another centralized service filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after announcing that the company BlockFi is already bankrupt.

Facts, we are directly affected by those drama, like the FTX, but you can see, somewhat bitcoin is the collateral damage for the fiasco that SBF has brought to us.

This is the power when you've got, influence, money and network.

I'm expecting some mad off people that will be at the audience will throw some rotten tomatoes at him as he speak. If that really happens, I can't blame the person that will do such thing.

No remorse as if nothing has happened, people nowadays that have lost people's trust and money seems that they're the ones having no problem at all.

Yes, I think he was wielded so much influence from different industries and I wouldn't be surprised not just the financial market, but in the political arena as well as him and his family are well connected to the most powerful people as high as the White House itself.

Hopefully someone will troll him in this event, and then we can hear the crowd boos and everything if he really will attend this event.

And again, shame to those organizers.
1572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: November 26, 2022, 05:30:18 AM
David Bernavidez seems really hungry to fight Canelo, even though he only won the WBC interim supper middleweight title, but he want to a challenge against the top boxer in this division. I think he's a threat for Canelo, that's why Canelo reject his offer to fight with him. Actually Canelo doesn't in good position, he can't fight with light heavyweight boxer to get belt and there's few boxer keep improving themselves to challenge Canelo.

That is possible, although Canelo is like hiding on the "I don't want to fight another Mexican" narrative, but I do think that he doesn't want to face Benavidez who is young and hungry and has a father that is also a talker, just like Teo Sr and all other Father-son duo in boxing.

Hopefully, Canelo will have to give Benavidez some respect and fight the young lion.

As long though, Canelo will be true to his words that he is not shy to fight anyone and to proved his greatness regardless if his opponent has some Mexican blood in them.
1573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 26, 2022, 05:17:46 AM
Although I see horse racing in a traditional land base casino, but it's all based on pure luck and not the ability of the jockey and the horse itself to win that race. It might be the closest to see animals in a casino though.

But for cock fighting it will be very different scenario, and so I don't think it will be viable to create one, in my opinion.

As for the morality of animals being used in sports for gambling, it's debatable, but one thing that we can say is that it is as old as humanity itself.
1574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: November 25, 2022, 08:20:36 PM
You will never make a profit because it is best to DYOR first and get sufficient knowledge and skills. for you to end up in reliable decisions that will make you profitable in the end.

Bitcoin will continue to rise in the long term but if you want to be more profitable I suggest to keep speculating the price and know when is the best time to buy rather than relying on news alone which I don't think is a good mindset for an investor.

and don't forget that there is a widespread perception that with a few "skills" you can do just that. These people tolerate the pressure of losing their money because they believe they are making the right move.
Doing your own market visibility and speculation is the best way to get first-hand information about any asset you want to buy, not even Bitcoin is 100% a good choice at all times.
When you get into bitcoin at the wrong time you may still lose unless you are ready to hold as long as possible, so best to get in with the right price and better to buy when the price is low to avoid accumulating losses at any slightest market turn just like what we see with Bitcoin in the last couple of weeks back.

Well if you are in for the long haul, I think bitcoin is a good choice majority of the time. You can invest on altcoins, but what are the risks? we have seen two collapses that many investors think that it will not going to happen, and yet it goes down very hard bringing with it billions upon billions of investors money. So just imagine if those investors put their hard earn money to bitcoin that time, they could still be thriving and not crying on the spoiled milk in the last 2 weeks. But the damage has been done already and hopefully they learn a valuable lesson to just put their money on BTC long term.
1575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wrapped BTC depegged from BTC on: November 25, 2022, 07:59:52 PM
I didn't even noticed. I was looking for a possible reason for the depegging and saw a comment on Reddit claiming it was because the WBTC on Ethereum bridge were stolen. That caused some panic selling and so the drop. I can't verify the information right now so just do some digging if you want https://www.reddit.com/r/harmony_one/comments/oiz1uj/comment/ixgqrz3/

Thanks for this link, in any case though, if this is true then the effect from those investors or those who think that everything could be pegged on USD or BTC might be wrong. I'm not into this Wrapped BTC though, so personally I'm not affected.

But with the FTX collapse still hugging the limelight and the investors are still at the edge, this news might put some dent not just on the project itself, but for the whole crypto. So it's very important for them to bring it 1:1 again or at least very close to the price of BTC.
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: November 25, 2022, 07:38:42 PM
Tim Tszyu will hire many spar mates for his preparation with Jermell Charlo and Terrell Gausha is one of them. This is an uphill battle for the son of a legend, Jermell Charlo is not an easy foe. Jermell Charlo is the undisputed champion and in his part, he will train very hard to defend his belts. Tim is dreaming of becoming a great champion like his father and this is a shortcut, if he wins he will earn himself all the belts in one fight.

We will find out next year if Tim learned his lesson from his legendary dad and from the great Manny Pacquiao.

Tszyu had surgery on his hands recently, these injuries were picked up in the fight against Terrell Gausha and have kept Tszyu out of the gym for several months while Charlo is a devastating puncher and not to mention the guy seems to be quite arrogant, in the interview From what I could read he simply behaves as if he doesn't even know his opponent, he has contempt, maybe it's part of marketing but one thing is clear to me, this Charlo is without a doubt the winner on paper and on the day of the fight he will win without having many difficulty. I don't see him losing this fight

Jermell Charlo has been knocking out his last opponents on the way to becoming the best in his division. He is arrogant because he believes he will knock out everyone in the division he is ruling. Jermell has only one defeat but he stopped Tony Harrison and regained his title.

I must say that there are fighters that are really arrogant, for sure you are a familiar with Adrien Broner who trash talk a lot and very arrogant and even at the time he lost the fight against Maidana or Pacquiao, he can't accept their defeat.

Is Tim Tszyu biting off more than he can chew? Is this match-up too early for him? The confidence of Tim is at a high different level. He assures everyone that he has what it takes to win. He feels he has an extra edge and brought up that he was not 100 percent in his last couple of fights and this time he will be able to showcase everything.

We will have to find it out when they square in the ring. Tim Tszyu as well is very confident in his abilities, although not that trash talker like the champion. But he has proven skill wise that he can contend with the power of Jermell Charlo as he has experienced facing power punchers. He was even knock down, but come strong in the next rounds after being down and still win the fight.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 25, 2022, 07:18:14 PM
A lot of games today but sadly none that I will be able to watch. I would think the day after Thanksgiving will probably provide some interesting gambling results as you never know who was being good and who had a few too many helpings of pie.

I’m also curious how Anthony Davis is going to play once LeBron James is back in the lineup. If he could keep his recent numbers with LeBron along side him then the Lakers might again be a problem.

Its Lakers performance that has been the issue though, not AD or Lebron James. Both can have good numbers in a game, but if there are no supporting cast helping them in terms of production, then the same problem will occur, (not winning games). But the numbers that Davis has been putting in the last 4 to 5 games is really impressive.

I'll tail on the Atlanta Hawks vs Houston Rockets game, I think the Hawks will win and likely cover -7.5.
1578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 24, 2022, 09:18:38 PM
Everyone expects Crypto to return to its best growth after facing this long bear market. I hope that in the future we can enjoy the crypto market with healthier and more stable growth considering that Elon Musk is also here. Due to the limitations between these two crypto seasons it seems unfair in my opinion, because the bear market is very long whereas the bull market is very difficult.

We haven't even finished this year, and we still have next year for a bear market.

So I don't think that everyone is expecting crypto to return to its growth, unless you are really a newbie in this market and thinks that bear market is not going to last. It will be a long and hard grind for everyone here as 2023 will continue to be this bad. As for Elon, I think he can no longer influence the price of Bitcoin with this tweet or something. The only thing that I can see him move the price if he says that he bought billions worth of bitcoin. But it's not going to happen, on the contrary he sold a lot to acquire Twitter itself.
1579  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto prices crash as threat of war looms on: November 24, 2022, 08:59:25 PM
What do you think about the FTX crypto exchange collapse?
The ex-management of FTX was accused of concealing the illegal use of client funds.
Just like the others, I think of it as one of the major (negative) event in the history of crypto and it affected the price pretty badly. Using the customer's funds without their permission is a shady act but if not only because of this, the exchange won't suffer hard.

What can we do? It is already over but the people who got damaged are only seeking justice. Sbf and those who help him must pay big for this but before it, we have the Russia and Ukraine war of course but this doesn't directly impacted cryptos.

There are even positive events that happen like Ukraine and Russia have adopted crypto. That should have improved the price if not because of the other negative news including the collapse of FTX.

Yes, obviously we have seen the effect of the FTX collapse, it's worth billions when a lot of big time investors being duped by SBF as well. So it's hard to recover from time specially that we still have the war looming in the background, inflation every where and now the FTX issues

So I guess everyone is really shaking our heads in the last couple of weeks, from a good rise above $20k to now $16k because of again what SBF has done. And the bad thing is that it's not bitcoin fault, it was an exchange with their token that brought this effect to us.
1580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 24, 2022, 08:42:53 PM

Not sure if his particular statement can be considered as boasting because Tank Davis is really not that easy to defeat and defeating him by a KO is definitely a difficult task to pull off. I know that Ryan Garcia is a KO artist but that alone won't be an advantage in his favor because Tank Davis is also a KO artist and in fact, the latter got more chances than him.

Well, about the Ryan's capability, he can surely have the skill set to defeat Davis and so does the latter too. This fight will be determined if whoever catches the right timing first to pull that KO punch that will turn the tables to their favor.

So far, Davis would be one of the strongest opponents of Garcia that he has to face with.
This is why, this match if with proper marketing, they can really attract a lot of boxing fans to pay for this fight.
I also believe that Garcia will be the underdog here, though the gap of odds may not be far from each other.
This will tell us what is the caliber now of Garcia in this sports. Is he ready to face high profile boxers in his division?

I think it already created a hype for casual boxing fans as well, Garcia, good looking, has the social media presence, been calling Davis for so long now. For sure when this news broke out, everything is really looking for this big fan at 135 lbs or catch weight.

Might be with proper marketing, this could be one of the biggest fight in 2023. Two young fighters, who seems to be really hating each other. So there will be a lot of trash talking and bad mouthing between this two when they promote this fight.
