1561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 22, 2022, 11:13:40 AM
Are judges on this fight will be a celebrity? Not an actual official boxing judge?

If that so, this will really be a pure entertainment and that will make fans to enjoy more the show.

But if those are celebrities, I can't imagine how they will able to score a certain round hehe.
The referees hasn't been announced, so we don't know which will be the judges. But it must be from South Korea since the fight will happen here, they might biased to DK Yoo, but I think they will give a respect to Pacquiao. I think it's kind of humiliating if Pacquiao loss this match since this is the first match when he want to comeback in boxing scene. However there's no odds for this match, I'm just curious how much the odds for Pacquiao.

Yes, there are no referees being announced or who will be the judges in this fight. For sure, judges should be from South Korea, whether their celebrities as we all know that K-Pop is making headlines and taking the world, or probably ex-boxers or someone known in the boxing scene.

No odds as well, maybe they will released it once the fight is near or weeks before the actual fight.

And we all for now is that Manny will be the odds favorite.
1562  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning]: Ongoing Coinbase phishing attack and other exchanges on: November 22, 2022, 10:13:33 AM
A crypto phishing campaign is underway right now, and they target mostly, Coinbase, Crypto.com, and KuCoin.

Mode of attack is the usual phishing email campaign, as the cyber criminals will impersonate Coinbase like saying that your account has been suspended.

And once you click the link, you will go to the fake website, and when you enter your credentials, the criminals will steal it at run-time login to the real Coinbase. Of course, you won't suspect anything at the beginning, because the fake website will also asked for your 2FA and then again once you enter it, they will automatically enter that to the real Coinbase website and then steal your crypto.

But this scammers will take to the next level and will asked for more info like in a live chat support.

Quote
For good measure, after successfully harvesting their target’s login information and 2-Factor pin, the attacker will now collect more information from them manually. The phishing pages will display a message that you are locked out of this account, and need to resolve it with Customer Support. Once that has displayed, a chat box appears in the bottom right corner, where the attacker will engage the target in a conversation to “recover” additional personal information related to your account, including phone number, address, email, estimated account balance, etc. This will help them should they have difficulty, or require additional validation, while they are accessing the targets account on their system. This also enabled the attacker to be live chatting with the victim to keep them engaged and distracted while draining their funds.

https://pixmsecurity.com/blog/phish/coinbase-attacks-bypass-2fa/

Again, first rule of thumb is that we shouldn't click any link that we don't know where it came from. "Think before you click".

Common sense, used it, one of our best weapon against this impersonations.
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 20, 2022, 01:10:54 AM
Definitely, we still want to see Carmelo in the NBA, although he is no longer in his prime, but he can still contribute just like what he did with the Lakers last season, he had games wherein he score 20++ points.

So it really up to him, to stay and wait if there will be an offer. Still hoping though that the Knicks will give him a second chance. I thought that he will play with them this season but it didn't go. But yeah, maybe after the all star break when body has been bruises, some team might find Carmelo, and be uses as coming from the bench players.
I sincerely hope Carmelo Anthony continues to play in the NBA and who knows, get a dreamed-up NBA championship ring.
Yes, in the previous season there were games that he played extremely well, and in most games he played he always helped the team, even in games where he scored 6, 8 or 10 points. He always did everything to help the team as he could

And that is what Carmelo is chasing, just one NBA ring before he retires.

Same reason why he joined the Lakers last season, and in paper it really looks that they are poise to at least be in the top 3 in the West, with Lebron, AD and the newly added WB. And they also have a young guys that can contributed.

Unfortunately, Carmelo might not able to get that ring though, and I guess he has to accept that already.
1564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality on: November 20, 2022, 12:29:47 AM
Good move in your end, just wondering though,

1. What kind of bitcoin wallet the barber are going to used? might be better as well to introduce him to LN (Lightning Network)
2. And probably it's important to let him understand the difference between custodial and non-custodial wallet. I'm sure you are aware of what is going on right now.

Best of luck to the barber and hopefully he can get clients to try and used bitcoin when paying for his services.
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana rise again? on: November 19, 2022, 09:11:38 AM
For me, it was normal that Solana experienced a huge dump because yeah FTX exchange is a big backer of Solana, and Solana for FTX exchange is like a BNB of Binance or CRO of Crypto.com
So for me, now that FTX exchange already filed bankruptcy and Alameda too. Solana is still here because it's not the same on what happened on Luna Ecosystem which it is direct issue with the project, Solana is different.

Yes, it could be very different scenario for Solana, but still though, they have been drag in this issues that it might take sometime for them to recovery (that is if they can bounce back).

So for me personally, this is not a financial advise, but I will stir clear of Solana for the meantime, until everything settles down a bit as the market is clearly very crazy because of this FTX collapse and everyone is very edgy on it's feet.
1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 19, 2022, 08:50:09 AM

Yes, that's correct, and this is the season that looks unpredictable again. It's better. Last year was a good run too as the Warriors was not really expected to take the throne again. They are either underdogs or they are neglected to be a championship caliber during last year season.
But now, it's different. Young teams like the Jazz and Thunder are making big efforts to enter the playoffs.
I bet even the pro basketball analysts are having a hard time to predict who will be the champion this year. Even the Bucks are losing while the Celtics are consistent.

Utah have been playing very well so far this season, their results have been pretty consistent since the start of the season, but until yesterday they had a bad streak, losing three games in a row. And yesterday, in a very difficult game, they managed to beat Phoenix and break this unsuccessful series. In general, Utah looks very promising, but it is still difficult to single out a clear favorite, there are many worthy teams.

I guess team owners know that they have to do something in order to compete with the Warriors and to some extend the Lebron era to become competitive. And that is why it seems that there are well balance, both divisions haven't had a dominant team. And Warriors are struggling now as defending champion and I don't see them going back to back NBA champs. So it will be hard to predict as who will be on top of both divisions this early.
1567  Economy / Service Discussion / 4500 personal data leaked by TokenSoft on: November 19, 2022, 08:30:46 AM
TokenSoft, a leading technology and security platform for companies seeking to issue assets on the blockchain, at scale, and within compliance, unfortunately, leaked or doxxed 4500 users.

Quote
Further probes into the mishap led to some rather startling findings. It was found that the company had doxxed more than 4,000 users.

In general parlance, Doxxing, also spelled as Doxing, refers to revealing information online that could lead to identifying someone. Such information may include a person’s real name, address, contact number, workplace details, financial information, etc.

The information came on the company’s Discord channel from a community manager with the handle “Nick G.”

To be more specific, the manager posted the list of users claiming that they were gaming the Tokensoft DAO’s airdrop.

https://www.securities.io/digital-securities-launchpad-tokensoft-doxxes-4500-users/

It's just ironic that a supposedly tech leading company preaching security has it's on slip on this industry and this is why personal and sensitive data should be protected by this companies. Not the first though, but for sure, if someone gets a copy of this information, it could be used as fraud, or spam our emails again with offers that can be a trap for scammers. So watch out, many in the next couple of months we will hear attempts to used this data by cyber criminals.
1568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hodl tight Bitcoin. We're going to the galaxy on: November 18, 2022, 08:00:27 AM
Lots of people have super high hopes about bitcoin and that’s a good thing but we can't fathom the thought that maybe for another year we could stay like this? I am not saying we will, but there is no way we could say it's impossible neither, it could still happen.

We better be thinking about that worst situation, this is like 2018-2019 all over again. End of 2018? I still vividly remember that, I mean I'm not making the money that I used to be in 2017, bull run and so a lot has change on my end. So I have to adapt and stomach what 2019 brings and to some extend 2020 covid-19 scare to the market.

And that's what I learn by this year, before I didn't reinvest by just sell everything and take whatever profit or loss I got.

But this time, the market is bleak, but we should learn how to stack sats and accumulate.
1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 18, 2022, 07:32:03 AM
It's just that Oscar Dela Hoya, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are bright enough to think about the future and how much money they could get if they will start their own promotional company from scratch and just using their fame as a capital to attract investors and boxers. Right now, the promotional companies of the 3 mentioned legends are already successful.

Actually, that was a good move by those legends you mentioned.

A promotional company requires lots of $$$$$$$ and boxers that will start a business like that should be really earnings huge money during their active days and that's the case of Oscar Dela Hoya, Mayweather Jr, and Manny Pacquiao.

That business wouldn't be possible to start by those boxers who don't have huge contracts regardless if they are champions or not.

I think sooner or later that will be the move of those boxers, we also have Cotto having his own promotions. They are at least still in contact with boxing and definitely since they are former champions, they could have connections and so they can used it to further their company and their fighters. So it's a win win for them, but the most successful of them all as boxing promoters is Oscar's Golden Boy Promotions, it has undergone a lot of metamorphosis but still up to this day, GBP is still one of the best promotions that we have right now.

1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF said: WHAT HAPPENED? on: November 18, 2022, 03:27:36 AM
And the plot still thickens, as the new CEO John Ray says:

https://twitter.com/kadhim/status/1593222595390107649

And SBF claiming it to be a billion dollar empire, however, "Fair value of remaining non-stablecoin crypto is $659".

I guess we can say that this is worst that ENRON, and it's going to take a lot from John Ray to clear this messed and the bloodshed left by SBF.
1572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: November 17, 2022, 08:51:45 AM
What a way to start the year by having two tough fighters I consider both fighters undefeated Charlo's loss was a fluke he is still one of the most dominating fighters in his division, but Tszyu is capable to wrest the title I have seen Tszyu fight on Youtube one of this is a knockout win against Jeff Horn his fighting style is very much similar to his father, my heart goes to Tszyu but I feel that Charlo has everything to keep the title, he is a more experienced fighter and have fought big names already.

Obviously, this bout is not any other champion vs the underdog fight because we all know that Tszyu can actually turn the table once he feels that he can take Charlo's punches. it just seems like they might gonna give us a more exciting fight than Crawford's next fight. Anyway, I think most of the spectators have already assumed that this fight will be easy for Charlo cause he was already able to overcome most fights like this but he needs to consider not slacking off because Tim can actually knock him out.

Ah yeah, I think compare to Crawford next fight, I think this is more exciting. Nothing against Crawford picking up Avanesyan, but he is a unknown fighter for us.

As compare to Tim Tszyu, who's father is a legend in boxing and has to work his way up to challenge Charlo at 154 lbs.

So we will have to see, Tim is known for his durability, although I'm not counting him as a knock out artist, but he can still deliver a win thru the old and traditional way of hard grind in the full 12 rounds.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF said: WHAT HAPPENED? on: November 17, 2022, 08:15:42 AM
And with that, SBF was hit by a class-action lawsuit:

Quote
The founder of the now-collapsed crypto trading company FTX has been hit with a class action lawsuit by investors alleging he and other high-profile celebrities — such as legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady and NBA star Stephen Curry — violated Florida law and made consumers suffer more than $11 billion in damages.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/ftx-founder-sam-bankman-fried-hit-class-action-lawsuit-also-names-brady-bundchen-shaq-curry

And the plot tickets, as there are reports that there could be lawmakers also involved, either as a investors and so this investigation will drag a lot of names not just sports personalities such as Tom Brady and Steph Curry.
1574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nothing matters more than transparency on: November 17, 2022, 07:56:44 AM
I wonder what would have happened if Ledger hardware wallet company belongs to someone like Sam, just imagine, this type of man could have leave a backdoor in the whole hardware system and catered away with users' funds.
Nobody can guarantee that current ledger manufacturer is not doing something like this right now as we speak, since they are making closed source device nobody can verify their code.
They don't even need to have backdoor, with new type of attacks they can slowly collect seed words through transactions sent by user, even if they use third party wallets like Electrum.
I really can't find any good reason why they are being so stubborn and why they don't want to switch to open source, unless they have some hidden motives.
Luckily, there are plenty of open source alternative hardware wallet devices that exist today.

Or someone really close to the project can do a back door without us knowing and suddenly it exploded when bitcoin price is like in the millions making a lot of investors and hardware holders lost big amounts.

Open source is the key for the rest of us, at least we really see what's going on inside and outside. So we really need to be very careful as who we trust in this crypto industry and anything can go wrong in an instant.
1575  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 16, 2022, 10:31:00 AM
Higher low across a couple days gives some hope of building a recovery here.  I still imagine price action explores the entire available area but its also possible the low is formed as a good one and feared effects by the market of recent events proves unfounded hence we build upwards from here.  Much left to prove that this isnt just a speculative or trading move.

Yeah, for TA guys like you, it's two fold, maybe we have seen the bottom area already and it's time for the market to bounce back. And then take this very opportunity to accumulate. Might be different for day traders though, as everything is based on pure speculation.

But for us long term holders, we might see this as a great chance to stack sats again and look for the long haul.

Going dip again to $13k-$14k? same, buy more, prices going up to $18k-$20k? good as well, specially if we have been buying around $15k-$16k, win win for long term hodlers and DCA boys out there.
1576  Economy / Exchanges / Australian crypto exchange suspends withdrawal on: November 16, 2022, 10:02:38 AM
Australian based crypto exchange Digital Surge said:

"Due to the impact of FTX Australia's administration, we are not able to operate business as usual and have suspended all deposits and withdrawals until further notice," Digital Surge said in a message on its website.

"Our current priority is to protect and support you, our users, and keep you informed as the situation develops."

In an email to customers the exchange said it "does hold some limited exposure to FTX" and was "working hard to understand the situation as it relates to our users".

https://nz.finance.yahoo.com/news/aust-crypto-exchange-suspends-withdrawals-041232691.html

Not sure if anyone here heard about this Australian crypto exchanges, but I don't like the sound of it.

They admitted that they have been exposed to FTX and we already know what have happen to them.

And if anyone here is not aware of this message from Theymos: Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 16, 2022, 09:30:18 AM
A very high-scoring game from the Sacramento Kings vs Brooklyn Nets.  Cheesy
Total is 274. It covered the Over 225.5 bet and had a lot more room. Fewer minutes to play for Fox and Sabonis as the lead was 30+ even at the early stage of the game.
I stopped watching in the 3rd quarter when I saw how the Kings are dominating the game while the Nets need to find Durant just to be able to score.

Yeah, I could have made the over bet during live game, but I said I will just stick with my pre game of -2.5 because I know that it's going to get hit as early as the 3rd quarter already. And I have been betting good amount of money on the Kings in their last 3 games.

What is the handicap for the Mavs vs Clippers though?

Clippers coming back and give the Mavs a scare, if not for Luka's magic again and Finney-Smith, they might have lost this game.

I haven't check the games for tomorrow, so maybe I will just have to post later.

Another big win for you mate.
1578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is spamming mempool on: November 16, 2022, 02:31:13 AM
Oh ok, that's why I was surprised yesterday that when I try to withdraw using my Electrum, I'm getting errors message that I need to upgrade or increased my fees, which I haven't touch for a while, but yesterday it says the mempool is full and my fee is too low for miners to pick it up.

Not good Binance, not sure what's cooking behind, but they might give a wrong impression on their users for doing consolidation as the timing is bad.
1579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 15, 2022, 01:34:33 PM
Congrats to those who win last night, I intentionally skip in my betting, just to reset and take a rest.

I'm looking at the Kings and Nets game, Kings is a revelation this season, they have the advantage of having a rest while the Nets are into a back to back and coming from a lost. So I will bet early -2.5 and then just look for other games and bet live.
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The worst events in Crypto history on: November 13, 2022, 02:28:33 AM
I think one that really stands out in the Mt. Gox hacked, I mean the impact that it has in the market till now. And I'm glad that I'm still not in crypto that time and probably could have lost money as well.

Nevertheless, the rest of the hacks or worst events, been there already and survived and didn't put a dent on my bitcoin holdings.

I guess, if we really seen and experience it, then we shouldn't say that crypto will be dead, we are going to survived this all together.
