no matter what you do, the house edge remains the same. you CANNOT do anything to change this!
Absolutely true.

Quote
you WILL LOSE in the long run.
Absolutely false. You can make this highly unlikely with betting systems. The vast majority of people who use a betting system correctly will win.

These are not incompatible. Imagine a system where you have a 99% chance of winning $1 and a 1% chance of losing $200 and the total number of bets required is always less than 100. The house certainly has a huge edge. But the vast majority of people who use this system will win. And there can never be a "long run" because the total number of bets required by the system is always less than 100.

The bold part says it all. If the house has an edge, YOU WILL LOSE whatever betting system you use. Vast majority (99 out of 100) will win negligible amounts (1$) and 1 person will lose a big amount (200$). This will give the house a profit of 100$. Who loses this? The players. When this thing is repeated a 100 times (long run), everybody will lose (100$ each) and the house will win 10,000$ mathematically.

So yes, if there is a house edge YOU WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE.

That is what I always say.

Sooner or later you will end up in the $200 loss group, and I guess before you can win more than 200 times $1

Which is better

Raise bet by % on loss or raise bet by % on win?

Deppends on what strategy you are following.

Classic martingale uses rise bet %
1566  Other / Off-topic / Re: VPN Vs Tor? on: November 25, 2014, 05:10:41 AM
They can get you if the VPN fails to protect you.

In other hand, Tor exit nodes are known so they can block Tor visitors.

Maybe send the packets by tor to a VPN, so the VPN will be like a non trackable exit node?

(does this even makes sense?)

biststamp becomes bugstamp for a while.

Happens from time to time to every site, it seems.

But nothing really bad, like problems with withdraws or deposit

Develop a module for tips would be an overkill.

There are more important priorities right now

It is not as some decades ago

1575  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: November 25, 2014, 12:47:17 AM
Not as far as I know, but I agree starting the term on the 1st would be a good idea, but if we miss the 1st of Dec it could start in the new year.

So,hilariousandco, could you please say anything more about the new campaign?
By the way,I am highly recommend the fixed-rate campaign, per-post campaign brings too much spamming to the forum .

Fixed rate with a minimum number of posts : 100/month

Senior Member 0.3BTC
Hero Member 0.4BTC Tongue
Legendary&Staff : 0.45BTC

Seriously or just a suggestion/wish ?

1577  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamblers: Please Martingale Carefully! on: November 25, 2014, 12:38:06 AM
Thanks for the heads up. I agree.

I once got up to 23 reds on martingale... Lost quite some money there lol.

Maybe, you should only martingale if you have the bankroll. I have seen players who martingales with base bet of few sats, and were betting 5 btc as their last bet. If you keep around 25 losses in mind, you should be fine with martingaling(for a short term)

Martingle is a great system if you have unlimited money. Please see why does the casino has the max bet limit?

But my best strategy ever is never stop playing when you are on winning streak and stop playing when is on losing streak.

I made a little money with it.

If you stop on a losing streak you are not doing martingale.

Also, if you have unlimited money you don't need to go to the casino.

Then no one can martingale in real life, because you can't double your bet forever.
1578  Economy / Gambling / Re: Autobets on: November 25, 2014, 12:35:17 AM
On PD autobet is good to reach certain achievements.

In general is good to try martingale or other strategies
