Chelsea did not win yesterday and to me this was a surprise result especially after their recent form which were pointing to a great turning point since the new coach took over. While it cannot be considered the worst result as they were playing away from home not winning against Brentford is not something that many people expected, most probably few people bet on them anyway as their away results were not convincing taking into account both Champions League games and the Premier League ones. This year it looks like Chelsea is more of a home team rather than a strong contender to the title.
It's a shame, they're on a good run but the draw against Brentford is definitely a loss for Chelsea.
They played well as usual in possession but it seemed like it was difficult to break down the Brentford defense because when Chelsea came on the offensive there were at least 6-7 players in the Brentford area of defense to keep the Chelsea strikers moving.
But what caught my eye in the last few Chelsea games was the performance of Kepa. The opportunity he received from Potter was really well maximized in guarding Chelsea's last line of defense.
Both teams played very well, Chelsea created many chances and but failed to convert any of those chances. Brentford were impressive also, their defense was so strong and did everything possible to stop Chelsea from scoring and were able to secure a point in a goalless draw.
The fan is watching the MU team and Ronaldo for now.
United fans can’t wait for him to bounce. Way too much-unneeded drama for a declining finished player.

Bruno and Fred played well, but that doesn’t change the fact the previous game them were trash.
All players will always get criticized for their poor performance, and they have to be consistent up until the end of the season.

Congratulation to Manchester United. Good game and good job Cool

Manchester United is a declining club, it’s been that way since Alex Ferguson left. A few wins doesn’t change the fact the Manchester United are sinking. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored only 1 goal in the premier league this season. And frankly I don’t think that’s because he’s a “declining finished player”, he barely even gets game time. The team is not so great. I understand how the effect of this is on him and I can see it affecting his confidence too. You could tell by the way he celebrate his goal that he’s been worried. I hope things change for the better soon because he might decide to leave in the January window if he continues to sit on the bench.

It is reported that Aston Villa are interested in Mauricio Pochettino recently. They are aiming to replace Steven Gerrard with him.

As you know things have been going on really badly for Aston Villa since the beginning of the season. They have collected only 9 points after leaving 10 weeks behind. This is a pretty bad statistics for them. I mean that they didn't have a good season the last time also and things are going on even worse for them now. Maybe the problem can really be between Gerrard and the players. Pochettino is a much more experienced manager than Gerrard of course and he managed Tottenham for a long time here. Maybe he could be a better choice for the team to step up.
Almost a year Steven Gerrard train Aston Villa but until now there was no good progress for this team and since against Nottingham Forest i have already heard this rumour but until now it just only a speculation and so far Pochettino linked to Aston Villa still remains rumours because there is no plan from management will be sacked Gerrard in the near future but if Aston Villa will changed manager i think Pochettino is very suitable for this team because he know the atmosphere of Premier League while train Tottenham and can make Tottenham to competed along with the big 4 but my question is whether he willing to get this job or not because he has refused several offers from Chelsea and Nice before
Aston Villa are not doing so well at the moment but they did well last season, I expected they will kick start the season on that form but they have been a little sluggish this season. Stephen Gerrard is a good coach and I believe with team they will get back to form again. Pochettino to Aston Villa is still a rumour as there are yet no news about a potential sack plan for Stephen Gerrard so until we get concrete talks we have to stay put and see what happens in the coming months.

Due to the UEFA Champions League, Frenkie de Jong rejected Man United, but was benched for Sergio Busquets. The team is now headed to the UEFA Europa League to face Manchester United. Benching experienced players like Frenkie de Jong is disrespectful. Frenkie is being treated very badly by Xavi, he should continue starting the game, and Busquest should be benched. In the coming transfer window, he must move to a better club.
I think now De Jong is starting to feel that his decision to stay at Barcelona last summer was a big mistake, indeed Manchester United really wanted him at that time but I don't think the Champions League was the reason he stayed at Barcelona, because at that time there were several clubs playing in the champions league which want De jong but he also refused because he want to stay in barcelona, but now rumors of De Jong leaving are starting to come back after Barcelona condition worsened and also the difficulty of replacing the role of Busquest which was indeed more trusted by Xavi all this time, seeing Busquest contract which was only a year away and Also his age is of course the possibility that Busquest will no longer get a contract extension in barcelona and he also will most likely leave Barcelona, so if De Jong can still be patient maybe he will be able to replace busquet position later Grin.
It didn’t seem to me like it was even his intention to stay in the first place he was in a tight situation that I would also understand why the decision to stay back was the best. We all know the situation with his wages owed to him by the club, he only wanted those wages to be paid in full before leaving and as the club was unable to pay off he had to stay back so I don't think the champions league was the reason he decided to stay back.
1564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: Was Sadio Mane robbed? on: October 19, 2022, 09:12:41 PM

So I just saw the Ballon d'or get awarded to Karim Benzema and the best they can do is give the Socrates Award to Sadio Mane upon all he achieved last year. I'm not disrespecting Benzema but Mane is worth than some charity award. When will they give African players their credit. Mane last season won  the Africa biggest tournament that he contributed massively to his country lifting the AFCON cup also as his side defeated Chelsea twice in the cup competition they participated in and won two cups trophies also his side made it to the final of the champions league and completed for the title of the premier league tournament until the last day that they almost won it if not for Manchester city brilliance.

I can also remembered the season Mo Salah played all the football he can and yet he was rubbed of the same title, when will African players be rewarded with award they deserved. Why create some useless award just to justify what is been done to African players. African isn't some charity projects and we deserve better than how we're been treated. Anyways congratulations the Benzene.
I can think of many situations African players have been sidelined in the past but this year Karim Benzema deserves to be awarded the Ballon D'or. His performance was outstanding last season his contribution when it cones to team and individual efforts was second to none and you say Salah was also robbed, the season you say Salah was robbed I think Lewandowski was robbed of the award instead but it was given to Lionel Messi who didn't deserve it. Mane and Salah have being brilliant also and deserved to be nominated but lets face fact that Lewandowski and Benzema did better in these years.

The career of Gonzalo Higuain has come to an end. As a spectator, it was enjoyable to watch him play. A great deal of respect is due to you. It is impossible to deny that you were among the greatest strikers of your time. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors, my favorite striker! I wish you a happy retirement, Gonzalo. However, the hatred he faced is unimaginable. In the WC2014 final he missed out on a chance, but after all this is a game and mistakes are bound to happen.
It was very emotional seeing Higuain say goodbye to the crowd as he was in tears after his last game for his club. It is impossible to deny the fact that he had a good time and good career, he is retiring as one of the best strikers in the world no doubts. Most players never entirely leave the game and will want to go into coaching or football show anchor as the next career path. I wonder what path lays ahead for Higuain after retirement.

With the presence of Erling Haaland in the team I will be expecting Manchester City to win the champions league this season or the next season. At this point they have everything they need to win the trophy, they have very talented and experienced players, the have one of the best coaches, a lethal striker who can score many goals and they possess good team work so the team is good enough to win the trophy.

There is no doubt Aston Villa is doing not good in current season but here just change of coach is not going to work for them because they have no enough quality players for competing with Premier League teams which is currently the biggest concern if they want to have better results then surely they need to do something for improving quality and spend good amount which is important for having improved performance and better results in Premier League.

Steven Gerrard is doing good job with available sources but still most chances if they are not able to have positive results in coming matches then surely management will do some things which are not going to help them and bringing Mauricio Pochettino in place of Steven Gerrard without having quality players going to be not positive for them.

I agree, Aston Villa are not having a good season this time, they have struggled since the start of the season and have struggled to get wins even against average teams this season. The last games of the previous season was much better, they had good games and played better than they are doing now I just wonder what could have gone wrong. Stephen Gerrard is a good coach who has improved since coming to the league, I believe he will turn things around for the better soon and get the team to play well again.

Actually Liverpool weren't able to defeat Manchester City in Anfield recently when it comes to the league matches. I remember that they got one draw and one loss until this match. Liverpool were even in a better condition then but couldn't beat them. But now they broke this bad record even though they were having serious issues with their defense. It was like they magically improved their defending very much and made big difficulties for Manchester City attackers. As Alisson also had a great performance on some critical attacks, Liverpool were able to win this.

However it is still early to trust them for the upcoming matches of course. They are still not a stable team yet and we need to see them like this for some more weeks to be sure of something.
Yes this may be true but you know records are to be broken and recreated, It was an exciting and yet thrilling game to watch, I would say one of the best games I have watched this season. Liverpool were incredible and showed resilience, to me this game shows how much they are willing to improve their performance, eighth position is not a suiting position to settle for Liverpool and I hope they will be able to maintain this form and stay consistent in the coming games to move up the league table.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KARIMBENZEMA [Ballon D'or 2022]

Karim Benzema has just been announced the Ballon D'or winner 2022. The award was presented to him by his fellow country man and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.
Award well deserved. Last Champions league, Madrid wasn't a strong contender but Benzema with his wonder performance pushed them to finals eliminating strong Psg, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Well deserved award for Karim Benzema, in the past seasons he has made quite an exceptional contribution to the team, he is a team player and as well has shown great leadership and professionalism in his stay in the club. He deserves this and I'm happy for him, after many years of playing under the shadows of other great players he finally achieved a milestone in his career.

They are still a young team, which explains their current situation. Barcelona haven't stabilised yet and progressing with such a situation is difficult. Barca fans may feel uncertain about this team, especially if they look at Barca back-line.

Their problem is that they haven't found Pique's replacement. Pique is already 35 years old and his physique has declined. Even Pique always has a hard time facing a striker who can run quickly. I think Xavi should start thinking about the central defender. I think he should be brave to start the rotation, for example by installing Kounde as the starting line up. Because Xavi is carrying a mission of improvement and he deserves to give more playing time to the younger defenders.
If not for the current number of injury cases I don't think Pique would be starting for Xavi team. He is aged and a little sluggish now which is noticed when he plays and playing against an attack with good and skillful players with good pace what would you expect from Pique? I expected to see a rotated squad in the game but it seems Xavi was not courageous enough to make the big decision and we saw how it turned out to be, Real Madrid outclassed them.

Finally a game Liverpool fans can be proud of. We did really well for the majority of the game and we deserved both the win and the clean sheet.
I think Guardiola made the mistake starting with 3 at the back, when they switched to a back 4 in the 2nd half they were much more dangerous. But so were we though.

A win in the derby is nice, but it took us only to the 8th spot in the league. What we need now is consistency.
Liverpool had their chances and took it with confident while city couldn't converts their chances to goal. The red players were very active in the game and didn't give room for fatigue. All of them were serious especially their defend lines, Virgil and Gomez who hold down both Fosen and Haaland.  Amazing results from Liverpool at anfield and city will put more efforts in their next game. Consistency is the only option for Liverpool players and i believe they will have a smooth run up for top four.
Was happy for Virgil for being his old self and keep Erling Haaland quite, I think Liverpool midfield and defence did a great job on Sunday, I admire James miller high level of concentration at the right side of the defence, while Robertson was good defensively but awful at attack thought klopp will be tempted to go with Tsimikas and in the midfield thiago and fabinho thought Gundogan and Rodri a thing or two, I know Pep will imagine not playing kevin in the midfield three, for me Manchester City best player at the day was Bernardo Silva he was tireless for 90 mins plus.
Virgil was at his good form in the game on Sunday although not his best but it was enough to help the team secure an important win. They showed great team work and togetherness in the game which was so thrilling...I think the team are finally finding their confidence and balance again. Manchester city supporters were already bragging about them been undefeated and it didn't take more than 10 games to tell them it wasn't going to happen lol. Kudos to Klopp and the entire team for a perfect weekend lol.

Anyway, it was Arsenal got benefited from the Liverpool vs Manchester City match, the history of head to head record did not disappoint Liverpool fans and it is important that we have to think about it too. To be honest I also lost bet Manchester City, but seeing Liverpool comeback I am personally happy, so we will see a very competitive in the remaining matches ahead.

Well I think Arsenal should be grateful to Liverpool for defeating Manchester City in the derby. For the Arsenal team I think they didn't perform very well as I expected may be they are getting tired as their performance against Leeds United was poor, the Arsenal team was lucky enough that Patrick Bamford missed the penalty kick if not their performance wouldn't have giving them the win in the game.  Liverpool defeat to Manchester City gave Arsenal a 4-point gap against their biggest rivals Manchester City but I think Arsenal needs to go back to the drawing board to increase in their game play otherwise they will be back to their usual position in the League.

Liverpool's recent form shouldn't be a problem to any team because their gameplay is not like before and they are not consistent like a team that is interested in fighting for the league this season.
Arsenal fans are happy knowing they are 4 points clear off Manchester City who have been breathing on their necks for some weeks now and it puts much pressure on the team to perform and win games by all means. Talking about the game against Leeds I won't say they performed poorly because Leeds are a tough side to beat especially when they are playing at home we saw how the game against Chelsea ended, how Leeds beat chelsea, they are a tough side indeed.

There is a more epic coach on the market - Zidane. It's Mr. "Get the Champions League as many times as I want". I think one way or another they will be able to persuade him to lead the City. In addition, Mourinho seems to be regaining the status of "special one" and if he spends this season with Roma again successfully, then they can invite him. I'm sure the sheiks won't wait forever and give Guardiola endless chances.

Zidane is definitely one of the winner managers in the world. Just look at this record of him with Real Madrid in the Champions League I mean  Grin :

There is no guarantee like he would make Manchester City champions there many times of course. But I don't think that Zidane would have a big problem on winning it at least one time when he has an amazing squad like Manchester City have in his hands. I just wonder how deeply he would change the current system of Manchester City. Because Guardiola has brought these players taking his own system into account. Zidane had a way different system at Real Madrid.
Zidane has a very good record in his coaching career especially in his time at Real Madrid, a record of 3 straight Champions league wins is remarkable and if he decides he wants to coach again now a lot of big teams will come running after him. Speaking about Manchester city, this is a team a lot similar to Real madrid team and Zidane seems to know how to manage big clubs I have no doubt that he will also make history with this Current City team.
1574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 17, 2022, 08:38:58 PM
This is my guess and it is based on the subtle wording that Guardiola gives in interviews when asked about the future.
As for dominance in the Premier League, for us ordinary fans it looks like a cool achievement, but the sheikhs are ambitious guys. They created literally the most expensive club in the world but have not been able to get the main trophy for so many years. Do you really think that their patience is endless?
It seems to me that they do not care about statuses, reputation, etc. the most important thing is the result, at the moment it is not there and if it is not after the purchase of Haaland, then Guardiola will be fired.
Speculation about the future of Guardianola in Man City seems to arise because of Man City's draw with Copenhagen in the UCL and Man City's defeat against Liverpool. I personally see that this is a normal thing because so far Man City's achievements at UCL are still good. we have to give guardianola another chance to prove himself capable of giving the UCL trophy to man city. Guardiola will have a long future at man city.
A lot of times we have read similar speculations and in the end Guardiola only ends up extending his contract at the club so I believe this also is one of those speculations to gain audience. Guardiola is doing so well at the club and still feeling positive of achieving his most desired price with Manchester City. Probably if he is able to achieve this he would consider seeking a different challenge elsewhere but in the main time he is still at the club.
1575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 17, 2022, 08:31:19 PM
I really admire Napoli this season because they are able to keep their performances in the Serie A and Champions League at high levels at the same time. I wonder when they will start to have problems on this. However we might not see this for a long time because they have already guaranteed qualifying from their group in the Champions League. Hence they would focus on their Serie A matches more as of now. But as of last 16 round in the Champions League, things might start to get interesting. If they still manage to stay strong then they totally deserve the Serie A title this season.

Napoli won the Serie A title only twice in their history. These were in the 1986-87 and 1989-90 seasons. It's been 32 years since they became the champions the last time. This is their biggest chance considering their effort so they had better give their everything in it to make it.
Napoli are doing so well this season, I had the opportunity to watch the game for some minutes when the Arsenal game was suspended and for the time I watch the game, they played very good football, good team work and they created chances although they missed a lot of chances but were the better side in the game. They have managed to keep a good form in the league and in the Champions league, I honestly hope they go on like this as it won't be bad to see them winning the league this season.

I think cryptocurrency has a long way to go before it can be adopted into academic curriculum. However private institutions have the liberty and flexibility to adopt cryptocurrencies into their course curriculum. Personally I think the best place to learn tech related courses are in bootcamps. It's cheaper than going to regular school to study for four years and also students in bootcamps can learn at their own pace.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 16, 2022, 01:47:51 PM
I won't be expecting a huge improvement from Barcelona defense against Bayern Munich. The players wouldn't be very motivated to do so either if Inter finish off Plzen earlier in the day. If you've checked already, Inter - Plzen match is going to be played and end before Barcelona's match starts. In case Inter win that match the dream is over for Barcelona. This will surely come back hard to them in terms of finances as well.

This is all Barcelona's fault in the end as they couldn't stay solid from the beginning. I was pretty sure about them to qualify for next round before the group matches started. I was even thinking about whether they would manage to be the leader at the end. But they are about to visit the Europa League two times in a row now.
This is a tough one for Barcelona especially at this moment when this win means so much to them and their hopes of qualification to the next round. I am doubtful Barcelona will be able to get this win playing against Bayern Munich. If it was some other team I would be relaxed and say “oh it's a win for Barcelona” but not in this case I think it will take a miracle for Xavi to pull this one through.

El Classico is the trend in Laliga this weekend with the both great rivals meeting for the first time this season. Who do you think we win the game? because the both teams have every chances to win the game.

Well, of course we can't know. Madrid have the advantage of playing at home and, because of this, and because of the situation of both teams, they have less pressure than Barcelona, so if I had to bet, I would bet that Madrid win but not with a hig
I do expect it to be a great game with good football and a great spectacle in which anything can happen.
Ancetloti is a very tactical coach with more experience than Xavi. Secondly Madrid is playing at home which is another advantage. Madrid might win in the El Classico since they are playing at home. I don't know if Ruidiger will joins the lineup and if he does Lewandoski might be hidden all through the match just similar to what Inter did in the group stage first leg of the CL against Barcelona.

The lineup will speak a lot of what to expect anyways but for now i believe Madrid has a better chance of winning because Barcelona despite been formidable still has their weakness in terms of finishing because it is too bad that if Lewandoski get hidden Barcelona finds it difficult winning their matches
Indeed Ancelloti is more experienced and smart tactically, we have seen how well he has beaten top teams in the league and in the Champions league. His ability to read teams and find ways to outplay even the best of teams shows how good he is when it comes to big competitions and big games. This will be like one of those tough games in which he has to show his class and coaching expertise. In the El classico game the line ups will speak a lot on what to expect in the game so I can't wait to see the line ups before the game before making my final predictions.

Brighton - Brentford was a really thrilling game to watch and a good performance from Brentford at that. How they bounced back from their lose to Newcastle last weekend shows the level at which they are improving and want to be playing on, they played so well, Kudos to the goalkeeper who was the savior of the day, he made sure no ball past through his net even when Brighton pressed so hard, created chances enough to get atleast a draw in the game. Man of the match well deserved.

-snip-
Leicester City right from the beginning f the season have not gained their ground in the premier league and their performance has been steadily decreasing outcomes after each game this call for concern for Leicester City fans and club management and if care is not taken, and the right thing is done on time Leicester City may end up on the relegation zone in the next couple of weeks to come as the point presently is ow below average so I can see their performance is extremely poor this season.
I think Leicester City will be more serious in dealing with problems at the club. But until now, they can only draw against Crystal Palace. It's really a pretty bad performance, especially when they're playing at their home ground.

Leicester City is currently in the second-last position in the standings. But this is still not enough if they want to get out of the relegation zone. It's very unfortunate.
This is really very unfortunate. even their management doesn't seem to care anymore about the fate of the club, as if there has been no serious action to deal with it.
Yesterday goaless draw makes it 2 draws and a win in 9 games for Leicester City which is really poor, their performance this season has been terrible. Again and again they have struggled and failed to get a win even from easy games like this that they could score and ease past their opponent. I just wonder how long they will keep up with this kind of performance. I fear Rodgers will lose his job as the manager sooner or later If this continues.
