1561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 21, 2023, 10:02:05 AM

I don't know where you live right now OP, but in my country owning Bitcoin is not a crime, it's currently legal to own a bitcoin here, as long as you don't use it as a currency.

Wow, I'm shocked your country will not allow you to use bitcoin as a currency, which was the main reason it was founded before all other purposes.  Being used as a store of value is still acceptable, but not being acknowledged as a currency makes its use in your country appear unjust to me.

I think it's to protect the official currency, using anything but the government official currency is illegal here, including foreign currency like USD and EURO, same rules for Bitcoin. We are allowed to keep USD or other foreign currency in our Bank account but if we used it for transaction as currency it's against the law. Probably got jailed, but I don't know there is never any such case.

In  this case, how do we now say that bitcoin is acceptable in your country when it can not be used for transactions? From your explanation, bitcoin is not illegal to be owned by an individual in your country but it is illegal to be used for transaction that means it is not generally accepted rather your local fiat currency is the only recognise ligal currency that can be used for transactions right? I don't mean to doubt you but maybe you will need to explain very well so that myself and other members can understand you better.

Like in my country Nigeria, bitcoin is seen as illegal here but  the government did not ban individuals from making online transactions that's why you see a lot of people doing bitcoin transactions without the interference of government.

I don't really understand what is your question here because I think I was being clear. As I said earlier it is allowed to own Bitcoin you just can not u use it as currency meaning you cannot buy anything using Bitcoin here, it is not allowed to be used as payment tools, you can invest and speculate on Bitcoin just like on Stock but not for currency.

From what OP has said, I think the government of their nation prefers her citizens to own bitcoin and possibly use it as a means of store of value against using it for payment of goods and services and the major reasons why bitcoin was invented was to serve as a means of digital cash payment where people could exchange it for goods and services.

I just believe the government is trying to project their currency over any other thing that could be seen as a source of payment in their country. Some country has such laws governing their financial institutions and their country as a whole. Do it's not new but for the fact that it is legal to be own means that in the nearest future there is the possibility that it would be legal for payment for goods and services.

Where do i use this at ?

From the looks, seems OP has no idea how things works with bitcoin and Crypto in general. For OP to have dropped  wallet address here asking where to use it then it means OP might likely have no one to guide him or her.

I would advise you OP that scammers might likely be sending you messages as you have made this post  as a newbie here but do not give in to them. Never you send your key phrase to anybody for any reason because once sent, it would be used to steal your funds and assets.
Do well to also store your key phrase or better still use hardware wallet to save your funds and assets.
1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: July 21, 2023, 09:06:22 AM
OP, there is a saying that says "do not carry all your eggs in one basket" this parable is still applicable to investment which is of utmost importance.
Looking at your available or spare cash, you can split it up into two use part for Crypto investment and the other for other business depending on the percentage at which the investment funds was split into.

Fir the Crypto, you can see that the Crypto market is very much volatile and no one can really predict the what would happen so it would be nice you conduct your die diligence on projects you deem fit investing. As for bitcoin, the price in currently down compared to the previous all time high so it would be okay giving it a look and holding for a long time would definitely be of great benefits because halving is around the corner and when that happens, the price plummet to a higher one compared to the all time high price amd possibly a new price would be achieved.

While waiting for your bitcoin to appreciate in price value, you can engage in the other wing of your investment which is outside Crypto there you can be doing other activities so as to get in daily returns as it pleases you. I do not know your country only you so you could tell better the best business within your vicinity that can be done to get daily returns as you have planned.
1564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase and passphrase backup on: July 21, 2023, 08:37:43 AM
It is never advisable to store key phrase online as it is always prone to hackers. As long as internet is concerned every device with internet connection is prone to hackers. If sophisticated centralised exchanges could be hacked  then why can key phrase not be able to hack by hackers. It Is better avoided than allowed happened OP.

As for wallets, excessive opening of wallets compound  more key phrase for storage. I believe it would be nice for one  narrow down  the rate at which one uses multiple wallets as I can result to loss of funds and assets in most cases due to misplaced key phrase as a result of mix-ups.
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Return Hardware Wallet That Contains 3+ BTC in a Hotel Room? on: July 21, 2023, 07:43:45 AM
A good name is better than being noted for wrong reasons. I prefer writing my name with a golden pen on a golden book for such reason of me being good.

OP I would gladly and happily return it back to whom ever owns it if I know them otherwise I would make a public announcement for anyone coming to claim it to be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt if they are the true owners of the hardware. What belongs to another is not your own and can never be your own. I think it is bad holding back in your possession what belongs to another for greedy reasons.
1566  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 21, 2023, 06:47:02 AM
I am more curious if there are companies behind it that are suitable, and in need, to advertise on my very decent traditional news and opinion website.

As I understand it, you are trying to evaluate the possibility of finding a potential advertiser for your website on the forum. If this is the case, then you should create a thread in the "Service" section - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52, where you would need to tell about your website and the benefits that the advertiser will receive.

Possibly OP might be conducting a research on signature as the case may be because the question was kind of showing how curious OP is in knowing more about the signature as it is done here. I believe from the little OP must have read,  OPs doubt is now clear and his knowledge is enlightened about the signature and how it works and from the looks what you have said is quite not different from the truth. Op might possibly want to run a campaign but would need a guideline to doing such here.
1567  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much time for a Duelbits withdrawal? Been 24h+ on: July 21, 2023, 06:39:02 AM
Any update @OP? Did your withdrawal get processed or did you hear from heir customer support?
I withdrew before from duelbits and my withdrawals were processed almost instantly but I mostly withdraw small amounts.
Obviously, your request is being reviewed since a big amount of money is involved. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do right now but to wait.
No, « still no update ». I checked my email inbox and spam, and went to my account on website. Last message from 2 days ago that says « no update » and « no need to contact support », they’ll come back to me when there’s an update.

I think you should just be patient with them OP but my concern is that why did they not send you any message with respect to the situation of your withdrawal if they are conducting anything as to keep you updated and possibly inform you of the expected time of response from them after they must have been through with what ever they are doing so as not to keep you in suspense. It does not just sounds normal. That should be the immediate response they should have done to keep you calm. I see no reasons why such a big and reputable casino would do such irrespective of the withdrawal amount involved.
1568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 21, 2023, 06:28:28 AM
The difference is crazy between Venezuela and Luxembourg! It’s around 3000 times difference, it’s just crazy to think how little Venezuelan people are working for. Crazy how a Hong Kong resident has to work 1 day and a Venezuelan resident has to work 100 days for the same amount of money. Blows my mind! And makes me think more about how privileged I am to work in a country where working for a dollar doesn’t require a lot of effort. It’s a privilege afterall.

It is indeed crazy experience to see such gap between too nation's when it comes to minimum wage and salary structure. I was looking at the statistics of Africa and it pisses me off. An individual would need to work for some thousand day's before they can be able to acquire a bitcoin. This is indeed a crazy one for workers of the African nations. This shows that most of the African nations work below minimum wages which are not enough to carter for their needs. This is very disheartening and dissappointing. The government of various nation's needs to sit up and do the needful.
1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 21, 2023, 06:15:59 AM

anyone deposited very less amount and luckily won a big jackpot like a 100x or 500x or 1000x of base bet and withdrawn without kyc or without facing any problem from the platform?

if yes, how much was that amount? and what was the exchange?

i seen many people complaining about they don't give big wins easily or just don't give by making unanswerable queries like very hard KYC, freezing accounts, etc. this problem is very common with trusted casino's also/

do anyone withdrawn successfully the winning amount and if yes what was the process, it was seamless or you need to pass a hard kyc?

I remember my friend telling me saying "buddy if you want to catch a big fish, use a big bait" do not expect to use a small amount to win a mega prize on casino mate. Casinos too are wise and as such would not make such mistake. You win according to your X input. So do not be carried away.

Lastly, I have not seen any huge amount won on casino that does not requires kyc even the so called free kyc platform at some pint demand for kyc whenever there is a huge win on their casino. No casino wants to g against the polices governing casino operations in their various jurisdictions so they would deal with caution by obtaining kyc for huge wins.

What your friend says is very wise, but it also depends on the economic situation of each player, I can bet a lot of money, but if that much is my everything, well, my money runs out in two or three plays, I don't rule out the option of winning something, because sometimes luck can make the difference, but if I'm looking to win a lot, I have to have a lot of money that I can lose and then I don't regret it, that's why I say, you can always arrest. gar as long as you are not going to decapitate yourself and run out of money for anything else, because later how do you do it in daily life? daily life is not a casino.

For  sure I expected it such way just like the popular sayings that says " garbage in garbage out" expect it that way as  what you give out is what you get in. If you gamble with higher funds, the xfactor would be huge as well but when you gamble with small funds, expect it same way too. Nobody set up a business venture for charity purpose. Casinos are not exempted as they are for business too. Amd you should also not that in every game, there must be a winner and there must be a loser so the choice is yours to decide.
1570  Economy / Gambling / Re: cry-ex.com on: July 21, 2023, 06:06:27 AM
actually im not into gambling, i create the site in a form of lottery game, buy the ticket, earn the token and win additional prize.
Okay I understand now, then you have to hire a manager to create a befitting ANN thread for you. So that it will be more attractive to visitors and forum users. The manager will use some of the images in the site to create the ANN thread more beautiful. Normally ad I said before the site is okay but the ANN thread needs to work on it.
It is not managers that create ANN. Op themselves can create their ANN threads if they have the skill. Only what is needed is to buy a copper membership with few sats and they are able to post images.
If OP cannot do it, they can pay some designers to help them create appealing images for their ANN thread.
A campaign manager is only needed to manage a campaign, which also is not compulsory. Op can manage their campaign themselves if they want to run one.

I think signature campaign are professional done by managers hence the reasons why they are being contacted for signature jobs. It takes good experienced and skilled person to manage a campaign successfully. From the looks of OP presentation here and all other attribute, I think OP should seek the consent of a good manager for their signature campaign when the need arises so as to professionally handle it officially.

As for the announcement thread, if OP can still use this thread for that. Possibly by editing this thread and updating it with more information on and about their casino. Also upgrading the account to a copper member would be of good help so they can upload pictures of the casino making the thread unique and catchy. Just as you have said, if OP can not manage it, OP can pay someone to do it .
1571  Economy / Reputation / Re: Are messages like this leading to scam? on: July 21, 2023, 05:56:19 AM
It is difficult to find out why this member actually sent this message. Now it is difficult to trust someone easily, because we see many times people with bad intentions use different tricks to gain trust and complete their mission by deceiving that user. So if you think this user is suspicious, then do not continue the conversation with him. You can use "report to admin" option if you think this user is really suspicious.

These day's many funny things happen though possibly this invitation might be to lure the account owner to honour an invitation to physically grace an event and at such one needs to be careful because it is not all about scamming sometimes but of personal security matters. So far things of this nature has happened in the past. My friend was telling me her friend's experience years past when she received a message of invitation not knowing that it was a different game all together and it almost got sour but thanks to the security around that premises at that particular time for their quick intervention.

One needs to be very careful and take caution when handling such situations of unwarranted messages of invitation from unknown numbers and contacts. Always do well to confirm or call te contact to verify from them and take note of their voices and manner at which they respond to you do you could be able to decipher what they are up to.
1572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kuwait Bans Bitcoin and crypto payments, investement and mining on: July 21, 2023, 05:42:44 AM
Indeed, it took me by surprise. When I came across the news, I noticed that Bitcoin had not reacted as expected. Despite the negative news, there was no significant price drop, which left me astonished. I'm beginning to doubt whether a complete crypto ban is truly feasible. It appears that the authorities are primarily targeting organizations involved in crypto businesses rather than trying to ban decentralized cryptocurrencies outright. The fact is, banning decentralized cryptocurrencies is practically impossible. People will always find ways to utilize them, either through peer-to-peer exchanges or on the black market.
Most times these act of banning are just done by the government in power to targeting a particular organization or group of individuals that are perceived enemies or opposition. They do this to frustrate themselves and keep them on watch list. I am not surprised if in the nearest future news emanates that the sole reasons why the ban was implemented was targeted at some certain person's for some reasons because the government are always at it.

Lastly, I think that nation has no significance when it comes Crypto and probably they have no major players or big names in the industry hence the reason the ban did not effect bitcoin price and not only that, Bitcoin of lately has hard a tough time with the market pressure and is gradually becoming resistant to external force and pressure trying to control or manipulate the market direction and price.
1573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 21, 2023, 05:29:14 AM
By cybersecurity people generally mean security for application developers. Things like avoiding SQL injection and other common attacks. As a user, you don't need to know that. You only need to know how to keep yourself safe from malware and phishing/social engineering/scams, how to avoid unsafe Bitcoin wallet setups, like brainwallets.

Jameson Lopp's articles cover almost everything that a beginner needs to know

You are correct sir. Something like this is what I expected OP to have proposed not this whole thing of cyber security because not everyone would be feasible with it. The name alone would scare away people from even thinking about it. Although otis good for those fully into the system but not everybody would see it fit to give it a try. People do not want much stress going through things of this nature these days as they prefer this with no much stress or complications.

These links are quite alright for a beginner to fast adapt to and learn the basics of security and getting their wallets protected from scammers and hackers. I think anyone interested would find it okay to go by.
1574  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IMPORTANT regarding BC.GAME! on: July 20, 2023, 09:58:24 PM
Update : After 33 days of account in restricted mode, they accepted all the documents I sent except of my selfie holding my ID + paper so I sent a new one. Hoping it won't take another 1 month to get the last document accepted!
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the selfie, they just want to delay it intentionally it seems.

If I may ask, did you use vpn while registering on the casino site at your first login because sometimes they look at this and possible doubt if truly you are the real owner of the account. Maybe you have been using different device to login your account which seems suspicious s most casino take not of login IP  so they take note of how frequent some IPs are used to login some particular account for security reasons.
1575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 20, 2023, 09:45:14 PM
There is no bad in what you have said mate but I think this would just complicate things for the new beginners as most people you see in this crypto space are not technologically inclined. Some are just here to do their daily hustle and go away with their profits while some are just here because of what they told them about the crypto space. All this big talk gets them frightened and confused as to how to handle things that they have no knowledge about. What I  think you should have done or said is just to learn the basics of securing wallets properly at least that would help cool off the tension than raising dust. Sometimes when you end up painting something that is not whort it you succeed in making that thing lose value and people begin to see it as not important.
1576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wasabi or Samourai ? on: July 20, 2023, 09:23:53 PM
Which one would you recommend more?

I think the both are convenient to use but for  more secured transaction, you can go for samurai if you think your transactions are not secured. If you feel a mixer could help then yomix could be of great help.
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Bitcoin Wallets ? on: July 20, 2023, 09:09:14 PM
OP there are lots of hot wallets available but it depends on what you want to do or what you are actually looking for. Make or state what you are really after so you could get the best based on your description. Some of the wallets mentioned here are very much highly sophisticated and are of different operating formats. so it is best you say what you want to do with is so you could be guided by members who are ver familiar with the wallets that best suite your requirement.
1578  Economy / Reputation / Re: Pi4ur Scam Project on: July 20, 2023, 09:03:56 PM

Of lately I saw all the articles you have posted the one that baffles me most is that of the government investigating Pi which I believe something must have prompted that action. It is all over that the coin is trading via p2p market with no exchange value while i also saw some companies and automobile are accepting the coin for trading with their products. Some people are complaining that the adds on the app are what the founder of the coin is using to generate funds for himself so i was wondering what the coin was for if the founder would be using adds on the app to generate funds for himself and the listing has been delayed  for years before now.
1579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kuwait Bans Bitcoin and crypto payments, investement and mining on: July 20, 2023, 08:53:53 PM
Well, I see the ban as inconsequential as that would not stop the full scale adoption of bitcoin globally. I would not be surprise the Kuwaiti be doing bitcoin transaction secretly and there government knows nothing about it. Possibly they must have weighed the options they have at hand which is more favorable to them as every government does before implementation.

Bitcoin can do without Kuwait after all bitcoin never depended on any government approval before it became a global entity but rather government are now becoming dependent on bitcoin as a source of generating revenue for their nation. So who amongst the both needs each other for survival?
1580  Economy / Reputation / Re: What should I do if I think somebody soon will scam someone? on: July 20, 2023, 07:51:19 PM
OP, I think there is no much stress about this. When receiving any message or chat  on this platform which seems suspicious what is expected of you is to make use of the report botton and report the message to forum moderator for urgent actions so as to save yourself and every other forum member from falling for such scam.

Looking at the reply from other members here, it is obviously clear that the user is likely a scammer who goes around scamming people and possibly has many alt account which they use in accomplishing their nefarious act. I wonder how any forum member that must have been scammed by them on this platform.
