*Is it a policing agent that would help stabilize anonymous anomaly in the trading space thereby reducing volatility?
Not certain this question was fully thought through, or I am having difficulties understanding it.
Trading is part of almost all markets and they all have varying extents of volatility based on the frequency of trades and amount of regulation. Bitcoin with a decent amount of trades and no price regulation naturally has a higher volatility.

Volatility cannot be solved by an AI, and the trading system is not broken, does not need fixing.

1562  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: March 17, 2023, 08:36:05 PM
Bitcoin is volatile and cannot be predicted. The price is up about 30% over the past 7 days which can be an indication of further price increase, but it is impossible to be certain. Just buy if you want to, and now is a good price to do so.

Imagine a friend investment $2000 but what is currently left in his wallet is $400, and the deep is still bearing down the nuds.
This means your friend bought at or close to the last all time high, in which case they expectedly would need a bit of patience before they can break even and expect some profits. Only invest spare money and buy when it is cheap, the short term changes would not be important at that time.

1563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which sub-forum is suitable for posting bitcoin ordinals related nft project? on: March 17, 2023, 05:30:45 PM
Try to reply in a single post as making multiple posts in a row is against the forum rules as considered as violation so try to take care of these things and read Rules before posting on forum that will help you a lot.
I just reported the replies to be merged together.

Some users are not aware that they can 'insert quote' while making a reply, forcing them to send and start another reply.
OP when typing a reply, scroll down to previous highlighted messages and click on insert quote. This would automatically add the quote to the message you are typing.

1564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Significant effects of Bitcoin's rise. on: March 17, 2023, 05:21:49 PM
what did you get beside s the financial wealth? Did all of these things change the way you think?
Financial awareness. On average, most people live their lives without any worry as to how money works and only bother on how to file their taxes. I unsurprisingly have not gained financial wealth or freedom from bitcoin yet, cause I am still stacking sats, but I have learnt a lot on how the financial world ticks and what I have been doing wrong for so many years. I am also reading more financial books to acquire more knowledge.

Yes, it definitely has changed the way I think. Which should be same for everyone that actually apply themselves here.

To me whales are losing power with Bitcoin adoption
...
I am in agreement with you on whales not being as influential as they once were when it comes to bitcoin. Adoption means that the circulation of an asset becomes decentralized, making it difficult for the price to be influenced by any group.

And, if you are influential person, you can make the price increase by speaking well of it or with the Power from our CREATOR.
I have no clue what you mean by power of the creator and the influence of influential people is very limited, more notably if you are speaking down on bitcoin.

1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 16, 2023, 07:19:12 PM
A truly beautiful strike from Marcus Rashford put them ahead and almost with both feet in the round of 16 of this competition. They have played a very compact game up till this point and have all but finished off the tie.

Arsenal vs Sporting CP is the main fixture of the match week and the one all eyes would be on. Both team are in great form domestically, and as league leaders Arsenal would be looking to make a statement in Europe against next season when they surely would be in the Champions League. I have the feeling the fans would want all focus to be on the league, but a good team has to show their depth in situations like now.

1567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A reminder that with your bitcoin in a cold storage, you can be your own bank on: March 16, 2023, 06:55:04 PM
This is one of many cases which has occurred and yet people still trust others to properly safeguard their assets. Hopefully as the trust in centralized establishments drop we have more people moving towards full custody and act as their own banks and put more emphasis on their privacy, which would reduce the segregation of privacy websites like bitcoin mixers, if Chipmixer could be taken down, then any of such platform could come under similar attack.

Be your own bank!

1568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge Of Bitcoin Is Better Than Speculating on: March 16, 2023, 05:36:35 PM
And because of the rate at which the prices of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies increase or decrease in a particular time, it is better not to regard them as investment.
The rise and fall in the price within a short space of time is the reason it is regarded as an investment. Investors speculate on the volatility and either go long or short on it.

The other aspect of building skills is a different aspect and one that only a little percentage of the total people into bitcoin delve into. Interest in bitcoin does not translate to ability to acquire high tech skills.

1569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Kyc worth the risk? on: March 16, 2023, 05:20:11 PM
To answer the question, we would need to discuss the potential risks of submitting your KYC to different platforms and the benefits one can gain from doing that.

The Risks are quite long and revolves around mismanagement of your identity documents which can be used maliciously against you. There is also the risk of someone else posing as you to commit crimes or the government linking your assets to your personality, whic you might not want if you desire to remain private.

The only benefit it gives is access to trade on a centralized exchange.

Not worth the risk for me.

1570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are once again up to their old tricks - Is your money safe? on: March 16, 2023, 05:10:59 PM
The main factor that has been running the banking system for decades now is trust. The trust customers have in the system that their money is safe and they can get it anytime they wish to withdraw which extends to trust in the fiscal policies that they come up with to give economies a boost, and boost the value of the money as well. That trust has been on thin ice from before the turn of this century and the more it wanes, the closer the banking system is to collapsing.

This brings up the topic of alternatives, where else can we safely store our money where inflation and bad policies cannot get to it. Bitcoin? Precious metals? Real estate? Some other investment?
My answer is a combination of all. We need to hold some percentage of fiat, and cannot throw our remaining assets into one box. Keeping a bit in Bitcoin and other bits in other investments we trust would give a healthy balance of diversification.

1571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping more than one person with Bitcoin possible? on: March 15, 2023, 04:20:56 PM
Is the gas going to be fair enough for 10$ each per person?
Transaction fee with bitcoin is called feerate not gas fees and the amount paid would depend on the inputs and network clog. If there are lots of transactions coming in and/or you are spending from multiple UTXOs into that one transaction the fee would be relatively high.

P.S. Unless you are trollling, you should never post sensitive information
Or they could be trying to scam people who would try to steal the funds. But, it could be a rookie mistake after all.

1573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How's your bitcoin lifestyle? on: March 15, 2023, 03:20:39 PM
Keeping your bitcoin activities off the public space is less of a lifestyle choice and more of a security choice. A $5 wrench attack can happen to anyone at any point in time, so can a targeted scam attempt. To protect oneself from this, maintain a private outlook when it comes to bitcoin holdings or any investments at all.

Sure, people respect you a lot more when they know you're well-off,
Seems like sycophancy to me.

1574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I keep money in the bank or buy bitcoins? on: March 15, 2023, 02:57:47 PM
Your bank will give you a small profit on your capital month after month.  And besides, the bank can be robbed.
This is a cheap argument against banks. No one is worried that their money would be stolen from the banks. They are unfavorable for storing value because the money you put in is eaten away by inflation, along with any interest earned.

We need cash daily to get things done, but for investments Bitcoin is a better option.

But if you keep buying bitcoins then bitcoins will not be lost at all.
They can be lost if you are careless with it, and there is no alternative since you are your own bank.

1575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Unit Bias on: March 15, 2023, 02:08:57 PM
Unit bias is a thing and has pushed many people to go for alternative options that they can hold thousands of such coins at a time with a fraction of their investment amount. Using fractions of bitcoin would douse that illusion that it is too expensive.

While there are benefits of making smaller units popular, I do not see how it can work alongside the whole unit. People would have to learn how to change their settings on their wallets, a website which tracks bitcoin majorly in sats or some other unit would also be helpful.
I also have the reservation that basic research should be done before investing, if they do not now that there are fractions of it or that price increments by percentage is indifferent to amounts, then maybe they did not really do their research.

1576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "UNLOCKING THE POWER OF MERITS: STRATEGIES FOR GROWING YOUR ACCOUNT" on: March 15, 2023, 01:31:26 PM
Never seen 0.5 smerits, the minimum sMerit one can get is 1. So, 1 merit = 0 merits, 2 merits = 1 merit.
It is not a whole number, so it does not show up on the merit page but that is the smerit added to a user when they receive 1 merit.

To understand it better, you have 3 earned merit and 1 smerit. You actually have 1.5 smerits but it does not show up like that until you get another 0.5, when you receive an extra 1 merit. Altogether you now have 4 merits and 2 smerits.

1577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "UNLOCKING THE POWER OF MERITS: STRATEGIES FOR GROWING YOUR ACCOUNT" on: March 13, 2023, 09:42:39 PM
Merits can be distributed by other members who have earned enough merit.
Once you have earned a merit, you automatically earn the half value of that in sendable merits. With 1 merit you get 0.5 smerit, with 2, 1 and so on. With 2 earned merits, you can merit another user.

gaining merits can aid in the development of your forum reputation. Merits are a symbol of respect from other members, demonstrating that you are informed, helpful, and well-liked in the community. Obtaining merits might also assist you in gaining greater attention and visibility on the forum.
  • Merits does not add to your reputation
  • Merits are not a symbol of respect
  • Merits is not an indication of knowledge

To create good content, you need to be knowledgeable about the topic you are discussing and be able to write in a clear and concise manner. You should also be able to back up your arguments with evidence and sources.
Would you consider yourself knowledgeable in ranking up and earning merits?

1578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 13, 2023, 09:21:46 PM
Thank you for sharing this. People respond quickly to results and winning and tend to forget the periods of losses and they somehow wish they can have one without the other. In gambling, trading, investing, starting a business, or launching your platform, there is a huge element of risk, the risk that you could lose out in the end. If you do win after different trials, you should inform people of the losses which led up to it so they have a full idea, and I respect you for talking about that.

Gambling is just like bitcoin trading, but less reliable. Always let people know of the risks.

1579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin earning by sats on: March 13, 2023, 08:59:53 PM
You would be better off redirecting the energy spent on stuffs like this to actual productive work, like learning a new skill or gaining more knowledge about Bitcoin. Faucets were rewarding once upon a time but nt anymore and come with the added risk of identity theft.

Bitcoins are getting more and more expensive and getting scarcer, so there's no easy way to earn more from ad clicks and so on.
The price has been stable for sometime but historically been getting more expensive, so that passes, but it is not getting scarcer, the supply is actually increasing with each new block and has not fallen far short of demand.

Editing your entire post makes it difficult to follow the conversation and what other users are replying to. Alternatively you can edit in the appreciation text without removing the initial content or you can make a new reply.
I would recommend the former, but do not think too much about it.
