Sorry guys, I can't do escrow right now. I only have one address available to me (I'm at work) and it's currently tied up in another escrow deal. Please check with other trusted escrowers like John (John K.), DannyHamilton, or maybe BCB (not sure if he does escrows, but you can ask).

Sorry you had to learn the hard way, but out of all the veteran members with reputable trust ratings, you had to pick a guy who just registered a few weeks ago to do business with? Rule #0 in the "How to spot a scammer" thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137288.0) is: Newbies, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH OTHER NEWBIES, EVER. There are plenty of veteran members to do business with and ALWAYS use escrow. If you're a newbie you're doing business with another newbie, there's a 100% chance that you will get scammed (or you're a scammer yourself). |

I thought I smelled something fishy when I was asked to escrow two separate transactions involving BlackLilac and he canceled on the deals once the escrow address was funded.

This is because people are requesting collateral of greater value than the loan and just running off with it, correct? Hope you "older" users are willing to take up all loans then, since it is idiotic for people to lend out for no collateral.
It's because a common scam is to create a brand-new account and offer "loans" for collateral (a value of which is often a fraction of the requested loan amount). Once you send the collateral, that's the last you hear from the "lender". |
