1561  Bitcoin / Hardware / BFL ASIC single shipping date for 2012-07-04 order after October on: August 20, 2012, 08:52:25 PM
Hi I just received a reply to an email from BFL about my ASIC single purchase on 2012-07-04 shipping date and they confirmed it would probably be after October.  I just replied for a more precise date and also for answer to if I ordered another ASIC single this week when it would ship.  Will update the thread when I get a reply.  This time took them three days to reply.

Hi our supplier has someone in the UK who will buy our ModMiner FPGA which is due to be delivered tomorrow for full price and all fees included.  We could get another ASIC ordered then but we'd have to be fast.  We'd have to sell about another 200 shares to fully pay for the ASIC plus tax but then we'd be on the magic 40GH/s a share.  Meaning each share in terms of cost would be more profitable and more value then buying your own 3.5GH/s Jalapeño ASIC.  I think we should do it.  We'd be very profitable post ASIC then at 40GH/s a share.  We'd be able to pay a dividend as soon as we receive them just having to decided by motion what percentage to hold onto for growth and expansion 90%, 85%, 80%, 75% 70%, 65%, 60%, 55% or 50%.
I think we should do it what do you think we'll have to be fast.

Another possibility is that's BFL. And they're using it to play the market with all the money from their pre-order sale.  Grin

BFL used Bit-Instant meaning they were paid in fiat cash for those BTC purchases.

In that case... I stand corrected.  Roll Eyes

Do I get a special badge or sticker for correcting you  Cheesy  Maybe it's Bit-Instants wallet but I don't think so.

Of course:

Although they also could have changed their surplus of USD back into BTC. Makes sense if you go long on BTC Wink

Except they used bit-pay, not bit-instant.

LoLz you get the badge then  Cheesy

Haven't BFL used that pool before for burning?

Isn't that the pool BFL has used before for burning?

1570  Economy / Economics / Re: What exactly is happening on Monday? (tomorrow) on: August 19, 2012, 10:44:37 PM
I think the price will be ~$9 by Friday then hover around that for a few weeks (no lower than $7 and no higher than $10) until starting to rise again.

1574  Economy / Speculation / Re: A potential top @ $12.16: the bearish case on: August 19, 2012, 09:37:43 PM
I think this drop to ~$8 is just opening a buying opportunity to a lot of people.  Although bank transfers to exchanges takes up to three days.  So I expect the price to be going to ~$9 for Friday but a lot of people could sell off their coins they receive back off Pirate so maybe staying around ~$8.50.  I can't see it going below $7 (for long) unless all the buying pressure that caused the rally was based around Pirate.  Even if it was I can't see it going below $6 and staying there.  That's my view on the outlook anyway.

Is there any news on timetables for release dates yet?

They haven't replied to my email sent three days ago either about my ASIC purchase.
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Blockchain.info graph for total transaction fees per day in $/€/£ ??? on: August 19, 2012, 07:01:00 PM
Here is one is USD.

https://blockchain.info/charts/transaction-fees-usd

Also https://blockchain.info/charts/network-deficit which shows the difference between transaction fees and the bitcoin miners income from block rewards. In theory this should be positive eventually but there is a long way to go yet.

Thanks.  It would also be good where you have USD charts to mirror them with EUR and GBP charts.  As they are both major BTC buying currency's being the second and third most common means of cash BTC exchange.
1578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Number of transactions per day at a prolonged high on: August 19, 2012, 06:52:17 PM
The price jump in June mirrors the increase in tx volume.
It also mirrors the days in the northern hemisphere starting to get shorter after summer solstice. Sure, the upward trend started few weeks earlier, but this was clearly in anticipation of the forthcoming solstice.

So there is no correlation between higher network volume transfers and the price of coins?

It could likely show increased bitcoin adoption by the increase usage.
1579  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: From nothing to something on: August 19, 2012, 04:30:51 PM
Try asking around for scrap metals like copper or lead batteries. Sell them at salvage place for money. Buy btc.
Amazing how many people have old car batteries and junk extension cords laying around.

In the UK we have vans going round every week doing that.  I remember as a child seeing the Rag'an'Bone man going round on a horse an cart doing the same but for stuff like old clothes too.

RSM offer changed to BTC0.30 in light of bitcoins price drop.
