15681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COINBASE now accepting BRITISH POUNDS for trading! on: August 05, 2018, 10:04:35 AM
Coinbase, having a good reputation in exchange business, is now accepting GBP will add a new value in Crypto market in the Europe region. European are more interested than before and this inclusion will make them more engaged in Crypto space by making them more interested.

Firstly, Coinbase have a terrible reputation. Their customer service is appauling, funds regularly get frozen or go missing, they had to freeze all activity after their support of BitcoinTrash because of insider trading, etc, etc. I would recommend everyone stays well away from them.

Secondly, Europe largely uses the Euro, and there are already many other and much better exchanges that support Euro trading pairs.
15682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin have to detach themselves from bitcoin on: August 05, 2018, 09:51:00 AM
You can see this very clear with Binance Coin, when Bitcoin is dropping BNB is rising up. It's mostly because this coin is traded against many other coins and when the market is dropping they are going back to BNB to keep value instead of Bitcoin.

If the coin has a lot of fiat pairs it's the same case, that's why you don't see such drastic drops in Ethereum and Ripple.

BNB has an actual real world use, in that it reduces trading fees on Binance, which as we know is the largest crypto exchange in the world. That's more than can be said of the vast majority of alt coins, which are all hype and promises with no working product.

The way for an altcoin to detach itself from Bitcoin is to develop an actual use and not just be useless speculation.
15683  Other / Meta / Re: Voice assistance as newbies make posts on: August 05, 2018, 09:41:58 AM
Another good initiative Jet Cash, and I applaud your constant efforts to make this forum a better place to be. My only questions are who would be staffing this service, and how much time would they realistically be able to dedicate?

You could try using Discord or Mumble - both are completely free and just as good as TeamSpeak. If you really want to use TeamSpeak, you could at least trial your project on either of these platforms to judge uptake/efficacy before spending any funds on a server.
15684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance threatening the existence of most cryptocurrencies on: August 04, 2018, 02:03:07 PM
Bitcoin dominance threatening the existence of most cryptocurrencies

Not really. The fact that most cryptocurrencies are trash or scams is what is threatening their existence. Most altcoins don't deserve to have a market cap of $1000, let alone millions of dollars. BCH is a rip-off scam, $12 billion market cap. EOS is centralized shit, $6 billion market cap. TRON is plagiarized, $2 billion market cap.

The sooner these coins stop existing, the better.
15685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's English Premier League Football Pool £25 to join Prize Pot @ £725 on: August 04, 2018, 12:53:59 PM
Well I guess before the tournament starts which is Friday, though there's nothing stopping you from paying during the tournament like a couple did last season, but this will obviously put you at a disadvantage if you miss rounds.

Thanks. I'll get you paid well before Friday.
15686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's English Premier League Football Pool £25 to join Prize Pot @ £725 on: August 04, 2018, 12:33:04 PM
Add my name to the list for the £25 pool. When's the deadline for payment? Would be super helpful if I could have until Monday to send it, but can arrange to do so earlier if necessary.
15687  Economy / Economics / Re: ETA until buying grocery at local farmer's market with crypto? on: August 04, 2018, 05:53:49 AM
Real world scenario, we're far from using bitcoin dominantly over fiat and that's the truth.

True, but the question was when we could use crypto at our local farmers' market. I can already pay by card at every stall at my local market, and my point is that setting up a wallet to receive crypto is easier than buying and configuring a card reader.
15688  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitfi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: August 04, 2018, 05:49:39 AM
But why would you want to? Smiley

So you can hack it and claim the $250,000 bounty of course! (Except you couldn't, because they will never pay out, because the bounty is just a scam marketing trick for their scam wallet.)
15689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The eternal question on: August 03, 2018, 06:00:10 PM
TA is mostly guesswork in crypto. If it was foolproof as some people claim, we would all be millionaires. For any graph with lines drawn on it showing a bearish trend, there is another with different lines drawn on it showing a bullish trend.
15690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McAfee’s ‘Unhackable’ Bitcoin Wallet Allegedly Hacked on: August 03, 2018, 02:57:28 PM
They should really turn damage control on, pay up the bounty and if they are 100% sure about the whole root/access to funds stuff only then they should issue a second challenge based exactly on this.

They won't pay. As with most things associated with the serial scammer McAfee, it was all show and no substance. The bounty was a marketing ploy only - they had no intention of ever paying.

the hardware wallets are the best.

Some hardware wallets (like Ledger or Trezor) are the best. Definitely not this Bitfi scam.
15691  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitfi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: August 03, 2018, 10:52:43 AM
https://mobile.twitter.com/OverSoftNL/status/1025000286119780353:

"So yeah: you don't need a BitFi device to run a BitFi wallet.
I repeat: there's nothing in that device that is required for the BitFi app to function. There's NO secure element. They could've released it on the Play Store as an app."

Maybe this is a good thing - instead of forking out hundreds of dollars for what is essentially an unsecure old android phone, you can just download the APK and run it on any device with an android emulator.  Grin
15692  Economy / Services / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io 🚀 [Signature Campaign] 🚀 [Up to $120/week] on: August 03, 2018, 05:56:55 AM

No, that would not be ok, but jeremypwr admitted his mistake, apologised
It's interesting this user acknowledges the criminal activity, yet because the criminal says sorry, he is simply forgiven.

I never acknowledged anything of the sort.

If you read the full post, you had provided a ridiculous and incomparable analogy, and it was that analogy I was referring to with the words "that would not be ok". The rest of my post goes on to explain just how wrong you are.

Just like you did with yahoo62278, you've lied again by taking a single phrase completely out of context to make it look like it supports you, when in fact it is the exact opposite.

You are 100% in the wrong here, and as yahoo62278 pointed out, all you are achieving is putting yourself on more and more campaign managers' blacklists.
15693  Economy / Economics / Re: ETA until buying grocery at local farmer's market with crypto? on: August 03, 2018, 05:38:56 AM
Commodity exchanges at farmers' markets are difficult to trade with electronic money.

I completely disagree. It is trivially easy to set up a wallet and print out a QR code for buyers to scan. Much easier than it is to set up the hardware and accounts needed to accept card payments, which many already do.
15694  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: jeremypwr Bitcasino.io and Sportsbet.io Extortion, campaign mismanagement & scam on: August 03, 2018, 05:28:52 AM
he committed a crime ,punishable up to 20 years in prison, against me.

I genuinely laughed out loud at this. I can just see the headlines now: "Man to be imprisoned until 2038 for heinous crime of removing delusional spammer from internet forum bounty".

Once he's imprisoned, you should probably go after all DT1 and DT2 members - since red trust prevents you from being part of many campaigns, presumably they are all guilty too.

Thanks for the chuckle.
15695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $1000 to spend on coins. 5 years exile on a desert island. what do you buy? on: August 02, 2018, 07:01:25 PM
anything exchange related i'd be less enamored myself. binance is only a year old. i expect exchanges to be run by massive heavyweights in a few more years.

Fair points. I've always been impressed with how well Binance communicate with the community and their fast response to any problems or issues. Their market share is increasing, their profits are increasing and they are opening new offices in new countries. If any exchange today is going to survive the next 5 years, I think it's them. I understand where you are coming from, but I'd still pick BNB over the majority of overhyped, overpriced alts like Tron or EOS.
15696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Apple 1 trillion market cap, when will bitcoin... on: August 02, 2018, 06:43:51 PM
When you can buy it online in 5 clicks and use it in any major retailer anywhere in the world to pay for goods, like you can with the iPhone and Apple Pay. Maybe then it will be worth that much, but that is years away, if ever.
15697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $1000 to spend on coins. 5 years exile on a desert island. what do you buy? on: August 02, 2018, 06:34:29 PM
I'm probably going all in on BTC. If I was forced to spread out, I might drop $100 in to Monero (as the best privacy coin it will likely have a larger demand in 5 years as government surveillance continues to increase) and $100 in to BNB (essentially like a share in Binance - being the largest exchange, if crypto grows then it is likely to grow as well).
15698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware: SIM Hijackers Steal Over $5 Million in Bitcoin in First Reported Crime on: August 02, 2018, 05:57:15 PM
This is purely not the fault of the phone holder because there is no way to control what someone who steal your phone can do with it.

It partly is, though. We know SMS verification is inherently insecure, and has been for years. Continuing to use it is akin to using the same simple password for every account you own.

If you have enough IT knowledge to buy and store crypto, then you definitely have enough to use proper 2FA.
15699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is Celebrating Its One Year Anniversary on: August 02, 2018, 12:41:20 PM
This trash coin is struggling to hold on to its 0.1 ratio to BTC. They are running out of newbies to trick in to buying their scam coin. Its next move is to dump to zero.
15700  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: jeremypwr Bitcasino.io and Sportsbet.io Extortion, campaign mismanagement & scam on: August 02, 2018, 12:23:52 PM
If I was your boss, let's say roofing, and we had a 2 month project that we were working on and one day I think you showed up late because my watch was an hour ahead, and I fired you, is that ok? Is it then ok to say that if you say anything, I'll withhold all payment for previous work you've done?

No, that would not be ok, but jeremypwr admitted his mistake, apologised, and made amends by paying you for the work you had done. I will accept that he should not have told you to delete your posts, but those posts should never have been made in the first place.

A mature person would deal with this situation by PMing the following:

"Hey man. I think you've miscounted my posts for this week. Wondering if you could double check when you get a chance and let me know. I'm keen to stay a part of your campaign. Thanks."

Instead you spent half a day going on a spamming spree across multiple threads and boards. That kind of immature behaviour is enough to get you kicked from any campaign.

Additionally, your analogy is flawed because your agreement was not for 8 weeks of work. Being accepted in to a signature campaign has never been a guarantee that you would remain in it until the end.
