15761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoins and ICOs to invest 1000$ into and hodl till next year (I’m new) on: July 24, 2018, 09:38:37 AM
But altcoins usually scale with bitcoins and you can buy large quantities of coins, in the event they get popular you get a lot of money.... it seems much easier for a coin worth 1 cent to go to being worth 4cents then a coin worth 9k usd going to 40k usd.... and ICOs can go up super fast, so wouldn’t it make more sense for people with little amounts to throw away to invest in altcoins and people with large amounts to invest in a more safer option like bit lol

You are falling in to the common newbie trap of not understanding the relationship between coin price, circulating volume and market cap. A coin worth 2 cents might be overpriced, and a coin worth 1k might be undervalued.

You need to read more. I would suggest investing in BTC in the meantime.

Have you encountered this group and idea?

Yes. They are idiots.

I am not sure if you are aware, but water will expand roughly 8% when frozen. This is another way of saying that the area water takes up will decrease by roughly 8% when it melts (when it is no longer frozen).

It's actually closer to 9%. Regardless, sea levels will rise because the majority of the ice is not currently in the sea, but above it. When it all melts, sea levels will rise by around 70 meters.

Unfortunately, anyone who even questions the conclusion of global warming is shouted down, so there is little to no debate within the scientific community on the matter.

I have done zero shouting down. I'm the one providing evidence and facts for my position. You're the one refusing to read or respond to them. If anyone is ignoring the other side here, it's you.

I know the habit of meeting or hanging around to the most convenient place that your pack usually hang around, and it will always entice everyone to engage what the place have offer the customers. Specially in gambling where self-control is the main issue.

Absolutely. If you are a gambling addict trying to kick your addiction, then why on Earth would you agree to meet friends in a casino? You wouldn't invite a recovering alcoholic to a bar - why is this any different?

Actually he did concede 3, because the match ended 1-3 for Borussia Dortmund. I couldn't watch it yesterday due to being busy, but I was checking the Flashscore app at half time and Karius was shown as being substituted so I thought he did well. However that must have been an erroneous update by Flashscore. And today when reading the sports news I saw to my great surprise that Karius had made more mistakes in yesterday's match and was solely responsible for the 3rd goal. The fans weren't happy either and Karius had to sent a message to his critics on Instagram. That guy can't catch a break Shocked

I only watched the first half and also thought he had been subbed off at half time, hence my thinking he didn't concede any. Just watched the highlights there - I wouldn't say the third goal was solely his fault (you can see it here: https://streamable.com/cme1j). He actually made a reasonable save off a deflection, and was just unlucky that it fell to a Dortmund player. His defenders didn't do him any favors either.
15767  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Abortion is a God Given Right of Females like the right to bear Arms on: July 23, 2018, 09:27:31 AM
One last question to clear my clouds is what will be happened if husband and wife getting agreed for making a baby and wife got pregnant, then suddenly wife changes her mind for an abortion, but the father still wants that baby where they agreed on the first place. So bodily autonomy of a woman exceeds the fathers will? (I'm not talking about the unplanned pregnancy scenarios). "Bodily autonomy" can we take as a right?

This is more of a grey area, but I would still argue the woman should make the final decision.
15768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2000$ for Alt Investment for 1-2 years on: July 23, 2018, 09:21:02 AM
That's two people in this thread now that have suggested buying EOS. I'm always curious when I see people like this - do you genuinely not know that EOS is a completely centralised scam, or do you just want other people to buy so you can offload your bags of trash?
15769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Champions Cup on: July 23, 2018, 09:12:32 AM
Okay so apparently Karius is on for Liverpool tonight haha  Grin I am wondering if he has picked himself up already and how determined he is to show his best again after the blunders. Maybe he won't concede any goals today?

I mean, he didn't concede any, but he certainly didn't do himself any favors. His confidence has obviously taken a big hit, and that won't be helped by Liverpool breaking the transfer record for a goalkeeper.

I can't see him getting many minutes this season.
15770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2000$ for Alt Investment for 1-2 years on: July 23, 2018, 09:02:37 AM
Bitcoin is the best investment. We got a sneak peek last year as to where Bitcoin is heading long-term. All you will get in threads like these are people shilling you on whatever alts they are bag holding, almost all of which are trash.
15771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is falling. This numbers will blow your mind. on: July 23, 2018, 08:58:27 AM
After the BitcoinTrash fork ETH lagged significantly behind Bitcoin for most of the bullrun, but ended up with a higher percentage increase by the end of it. Also remember the scam that is EOS has been dumping ETH pretty constantly over the past few days/weeks.

Things will pick up. Panic selling now would not be a smart move.
15772  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Abortion is a God Given Right of Females like the right to bear Arms on: July 23, 2018, 08:37:04 AM
Can I know your honest opinion as a doctor, Is it required to safe access for abortion without considering the root cause of pregnancy or other reasonable exceptions?

Yes and no. Abortion is not without physical, mental and emotional risks to the mother, as well as being more costly than contraception, and so as a society we should always be striving to reduced unwanted pregnancies, in part through the methods I mentioned above. However, abortion should be safely and legally accessible to all who want it (up to say 20-24 weeks), without having to justify why they want it or prove that they deserve it.

I have doubts whether the fetus also has the same autonomy(my belief is women has the greater bodily autonomy than a fetus) and if not, what extent that the fetus has similar rights?

By definition, a fetus cannot have autonomy because it does not possess the capacity to make decisions. The question is whether you think the rights of the fetus supersede the rights of the mother, and the answer to that is no.
15773  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Abortion is a God Given Right of Females like the right to bear Arms on: July 23, 2018, 05:54:58 AM
- Do you believe since the world is overpopulated, women should give the licence to abortion?

Women should have access to safe, legal abortion, regardless of world population.

- Do you believe humans have "unnatural reproduction behaviour" and is that the ultimate reason for the world destruction? So, is that final answer "abortion?"

World population is growing exponentially, so yes, one might call that "unnatural", and it is certainly putting a strain on worldwide resources. The answer is better sex education, better methods of contraception, better access to contraception, and removal of religious influences from these areas.

I'd love to see a world with very few abortions, but until we can get there by doing all the things I just mentioned, I won't be trying to remove half the population's bodily autonomy and basic rights.

My passphase is just God now. Tongue

Not sure if you are trolling, but the address that links to "god" had about $100 of Bitcoin transferred through it less than 12 hours ago.  Cheesy
15775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My original Coinmarketcap.com bookmark makes me nostalgic on: July 22, 2018, 08:18:34 PM
You can see historical snapshots on Coinmarketcap at this page: https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/

For example, the first snapshot back in April 2013 only has seven coins: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Namecoin, Terracoin, Devcoin and Novacoin.
15776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are Losing it, which bitcoin is the real bitcoin? on: July 22, 2018, 08:15:25 PM
The only people that use the phrase "The real Bitcoin" are altcoin shills trying to promote their scam coin to newbies who don't know any better (see: BitcoinTrash). Everyone who is busy using Bitcoin just calls it Bitcoin.
15777  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitifi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: July 22, 2018, 08:05:50 PM
-snip-

I checked that address - no funds! You liar!

The address that corresponds to "correct horse battery staple" (also from XKCD) has had almost 16 BTC in it over the years. All the most common passwords (123456, password, qwerty, monkey) have held varying amount of Bitcoin over the years, as have a bunch of obvious Bitcoin-related ones (satoshi, bitcoin, blockchain).

People are awful at security.
15778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Champions Cup on: July 22, 2018, 07:25:28 PM
So I'm expecting Liverpool to rest most of their first squad - Salah, Mane, Firmino, Lovren, etc. Might get to see Keita and Fabinho in their first appearances for Liverpool. I'd also expect Dortmund to completely rotate their team, since they only just play Man City less than 48 hours ago.
15779  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Abortion is a God Given Right of Females like the right to bear Arms on: July 22, 2018, 06:46:03 PM
I think you're not seeing the whole picture of pregnancy. How about picturing your first kick of child, first baby shower, how you're going to play with your child, how he/she will be growing up with time...instead of being pessimistic all the time. Even though I'm a man, I know how it's being pregnant.

This is one of the most ridiculously condescending things I've ever read. A man explaining to a woman he has never met and does not know, and having no idea whether she has ever been pregnant, what it's like to be pregnant.

Why you think you can lecture her about what she can and cannot do with her life is beyond me. She is absolutely right - you are talking nonsense.
15780  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are some people still skeptical about climate change? on: July 22, 2018, 12:13:19 PM
the change over the last two generations is little more than a statistical anomaly.

This is provably incorrect.

It has been calculated that there is a >99.999% probability that the global temperature rise "is directly attributable to the accumulation of global greenhouse gases in the atmosphere".

Atmospheric CO2 has stayed within 2 standard deviations of the mean for the last 800,000 years at least. In the last 100 years, we have catapulted the levels up to over 5 standard deviations away from the mean. That means there is a less than 0.0000001% chance that this is a "statistical anomaly".

history has shown us that both humans and the world will survive.

The human race will survive, sure. But when sea levels rise, the land becomes too barren to farm and there is global famine and drought, billions will die.
