15781  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price will correct higher to $7,700 to $8,000 on: April 05, 2018, 08:10:15 PM
Didn't exactly specify a timeframe for this higher correction, though I suppose you didn't mean for it to happen in two days? I see your floor is holding true so far, in fact, last few times I looked it's been more or less the same $6,700, haven't had the time to look at today's charts properly.

You know what would be really interesting? All of you AI project guys start putting your products to work and see which AI/ML project calls the long rally first (or the converse).
15782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 05, 2018, 07:06:31 PM
Right! I've been doing well in Champions League betting but terrible in Europa. However, pretty inspired by Hhampuz's amazing parlay win. Let's see if I can turn $5 of Bitcoin into over $100 on a x21 acca with:

Straight winners Arsenal, Athletico, Lazio and surprise Marseille. A minute before kickoff! Mostly rides on the Marseille win @5.2, but I don't know. Have a feeling the Frenchies will come through tonight.

15783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn coming on for AMA in 6 hours. on: April 05, 2018, 03:46:25 PM
let us not forget that Mike Hearn was also responsible for one of the biggest FUDs that was spread about bitcoin. back in the days (i think it was 2015) that he became butthurt and decided to leave bitcoin, but instead of leaving it behind like a civilized person he decided to spread some FUD about bitcoin first. long story short he said bitcoin is going to die soon. this was when price was about $400 and it had a big dump afterwards down to $300 or $200 if i am not mistaken which is a large drop because of a simple FUD (near half).

Passionate people abound in Bitcoin, to be sure. Hearn certainly did cause an uproar... and he seems to take credit in the AMA for causing Bitcoin to slide in price (20% actually, not 50% as you say, which recovered shortly), but I don't think anyone ragequitting even in those days would have ever killed of Bitcoin.

I suspect the only developer that will ever have an impact on Bitcoin (price) will be Satoshi him/her/them self/ves.

P.S. AMA wasn't half as exciting as I'd have expected. Thought to see some of the old fire return.
15784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 05, 2018, 01:54:40 PM
Okay what the actual fuck  Grin City(Shitty?) got violated 3-0. Could Liverpool be a real CL title contender? I take back what I have said earlier lol. There is another fixture still so Liverpool are not in the clear yet. Shit I need to get my bets on Liverpool going  Cheesy

I think that City will be able to win the next match but the question is with what margin.. I mean if Liverpool scores once I think City are fucked.

As for them being a contender for the title, I doubt it, sadly. But they do give us some interesting games that's for sure.

Dunno man I still remember last season's games between PSG and Barcelona. PSG pounded them 4-0 in the first leg then Barcelona went on to win 6-1 at home. City could do some real damage at home and eliminate Liverpool even if they do get to score an away goal. One thing's for sure - we will get to see a very interesting match in Manchester  Cheesy

Wendigo you do indeed need your bets going on Liverpool! The Anfield cauldron is not a myth. That magic really drives the team on. Yet another fruitless outing for Sterling too, got himself another booking for his troubles.

Happy with myself, good Champs League run continues. Made a nice 3.1 and 1.7 win on Liverpool match winner and over 2.5 goals.

Now they just need 1 goal at Etihad and City could score four and still get knocked out. Counting on the Reds to do just that, but Hendo is unavailable so we'll be relying on Wijnaldum and Milner to break up play. As long as we keep the frenetic pace from first leg at least in the first half, we should cross the line.

Two own goals from poor Roma, but Barca should have won anyway. Looks really good semifinal setup so far!
15785  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening again. Bitcoin price went under $7,000 on: April 05, 2018, 01:43:40 PM
We are drowning in negative market sentiment right now. Everything is caused by the amount of not-so-pleasant news like the ban of crypto-related ads by facebook, twitter and google.
Troubles with adoption - which seems to be halted or even regressing at some places. More countries are trying to fight bitcoin - Venezuela and Afganistan and so on...
Given the situation, it's no wonder that we have not exactly the bearish market right now.

I'm normally of the opinion that all news is in a balance, more or less positive and negative. More or less non impactful on price, since price has historically been moving despite, rather than because of, what the news is telling us. Last year's forking and FUDing amidst ATHs convinced me of this.

But now I'm beginning to wonder if indeed the balance has swung towards the negative. Feel like I'm seeing and hearing "bear" everywhere. And some people I do business with are even off commenting that it's "expensive" business paying me in Bitcoin... Understandably, perhaps, if they bought it at high prices. Not that I complained when 20k was in sight!

Hoping for more uplifting news...
15786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mike Hearn coming on for AMA in 6 hours. on: April 05, 2018, 08:22:17 AM
Apparently, this guy's been away for a while but he'll be holding an AMA on Reddit. Early Bitcoin dev, even had contact with Satoshi. Was the source of some new Satoshi correspondence shared in this forum sometime last year. One of the first big blockers, he's turned his back on Bitcoin but might be interesting to see what he's been up to. Plenty of fans still, judging from the responses.

15787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm Mark Karpelès, ex-CEO of bankrupt MtGox. Ask me anything on: April 05, 2018, 06:28:34 AM
Karpeles looks or sounds like a good man after all. I think he was never trying to cause this massive clusterfuck, he just didn't envision such thing could happen.. or he did, but it was too late to stop it and he couldn't react until things went south.

Now he has no control of these coins, and due insanely stupid government laws, a ton is going to be lost. Since the coins aren't sent back to the owners, but sold in fiat, then sent in fiat (at the prices at the time, against hodler's will) there will be many losses due taxes. When Karpeles recieves the remaining coins (in fiat) potentially half of it will be lost in taxes, which means if he wanted to pay back what creditors actually deserve (current valuation of BTC) he couldn't.

The insane laws have created this clusterfuck. It would have been as easy as sending the BTC back to the owners in BTC transactions, but the government dumbasses had to ruin it all.

Hard to tell. On the face of it all, he does seem truly apologetic... but that's actually quite common for figures like him, same as the Dogetip app guy who was really sorry to let people down after losing millions. Let's not forget that he seemed to know what was going on for a long time, and did his best to maintain semblance of normality for as long as possible before eventually being forced to come clean. Again, not abnormal and certainly, a natural human instinct.

Plenty of ponzi operators started out well meaning too. Doesn't really forgive them for what they did. What's "refreshing" is to see just how many victims seem ready to forgive and forget. Also interesting to see how Blockstream just kept quiet on the whole saga. Surprised Ver himself didn't show up or did I miss his comments?
15788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Windows Phone App for Bitcoin? Is there? on: April 04, 2018, 05:56:37 PM
While looking just realised Bitcoin.org has a recommended wallet section: https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/windowsphone/

Only Coin.Space is listed there though and the devs stopped supporting it since July last year, so that's not an option for you.

Check out the Microsoft store why don't you? I see at least three recognisable ones there. Bitpay, Copay... but I doubt any of them have the functionality or control you'd want. Can't vouch for how good any of them are, but BitPay has its fair share of users, but you should familiarise yourself first with the way BitPay works.

Might I suggest just using a browser to access a good, working wallet, where only you have private keys? Like say... counterparty?
15789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm Mark Karpelès, ex-CEO of bankrupt MtGox. Ask me anything on: April 04, 2018, 04:28:23 PM
Not as interesting as I'd expected, although curious to see how he basically admitted that he would eventually be coming into billions once everything is settled down. Not much the AMA as a PR move can do to redress his reputation, be really interesting if he publishes everything transparently once litigation is concluded.

Also, note that he says Mt Gox isn't linked to Bitcoin's price plunge according to the trustee, but that's almost how he immediately starts his introduction.

Plenty of "I'm sorry" peppered throughout =)
15790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice on FortuneJack Scummy and NOT Provably Fair on: April 04, 2018, 02:19:37 PM
OK, first on to OP.

1. Probably never wise to complain like this unless you've already waited for an official answer and never got one.
2. I just went in to test. It does seem you can't bet on max payout (or min) if you bet really low. Can't seem to find the minimum values to "unlock" the odds/payouts, checked Rules and couldn't find it... so fair point that it should be easy to see this on a site - or at least a help button or notification should pop up to show.
3. You probably misunderstood what Provably Fair means. Your complaint doesn't in any way address if it's provably fair.

And on to BoxxoB's suggestion, what's wrong with suggesting a site that fits what OP seems to require? It's relevant to the main issue. I'll go on and suggest two more where all payouts are eligible to any player, faucet, deposits, 1 satoshi bets, or otherwise: crypto-games and Bitvest. Max payouts work fine for even 1 satoshi, with no withdrawal restrictions if you meet the minimum.
15791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 04, 2018, 11:35:31 AM
Crikey, I got my betting wrong last night. Thought Real was playing at home first, and then it all dawned on me when I saw the stadium. My mind must be too much on Liverpool, but should really be more careful. Ended up a small loss though, since Bayern somehow managed to win.

These are the odds for winning the Champions League as per Bet365 markets at the moment:
Real Madrid 3.75 Barcelona 3.75 Man City 4.33 Bayern Munich 4.33 Liverpool 15.00 Roma 76.00 Sevilla 101.00 Juventus 251.00

I am thinking of putting 1 unit on City, Bayern and Barcelona. That would make me a profit unless Real makes history by winning the 3rd in a row haha. I am rooting against Real  Grin I don't think Liverpool have what it takes to beat the big teams though. Juventus and Sevilla are goners. Roma very likely too after tonight's game.

I put a small bet on Liverpool, but I only got 14.00, should have waited! After last night though, I wouldn't mind a $1 bet on Juventus to win (odds are 700/1 now at Unibet). You just never know what could happen. 3 goals isn't impossible over 90 minutes.

But yeah I don't see Real as winners. If Liverpool don't make it past City, then my favourite is still Barca. But anyway, focus on tonight's betting: Liverpool a sweet money line @3.1 should be enough for a risk also on over 2.5 goals @1.7/

15792  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Fantasy Crypto League on: April 04, 2018, 09:37:26 AM
Call me a sucker, but I bought an entry into one of your leagues... and never received a confirmation of the order (Order was processed and Bitcoin purchase confirmed). Clicking on the league I entered and looking up my purchase doesn't show me anything. Was over a week ago, so I assumed to wait and see if the league would end but nothing in my email or account. I do something wrong?
15793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Labs on: April 04, 2018, 09:19:34 AM
Why not get your answers direct with them? If you really got a solid idea, I'd say just put it all down on paper, prepare the pitch, build as much of the code as you can yourself, and get clarity on your own product. Most startups work on a so-called minimum viable product (MVP) with these incubators.

Send it not just to Binance Labs... check out Waves Labs (which gives out their own seed funding too, as much as 100k WAVES). Or Satoshi Labs even if you're in Southeast Asia.

Then you ask them your questions. They tell you what you're short of. You got nothing to lose, since any feedback will strengthen your deliverables.
15794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🔥🔥 BlockChina.io - Unify China on the Blockchain 🔥🔥 New! on: April 04, 2018, 07:54:34 AM
I thought I'd seen them all. Reminds me somewhat of that old Romance of the Three Kingdoms boardgame. The idea would definitely appeal to those who like nation conquering, except that there has to be more of a gaming element, rather than just collectible value - or the richest players just ruin the game very quickly.

Gives me an idea for a similar on-chain game, but it'd need to keep all the political and economical aspects (how about warfare too yeah?) of ROTK.
15795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 03, 2018, 03:36:56 PM
Hey guys today is Champions League's day hurray  Grin Time to get the bets in and the snacks ready for the show tonight. Sevilla - Bayern Munich BTTS Sevilla showed they are no slouch vs United and Bayern are Bayern nuff said lol. Juventus - Read Madrid HT 0-0 well I am not completely sure how this match will go but I am gonna try that particular bet because Juventus are playing at home so one would expect minimal goals if any. GL everyone  Cool
I think we can both agree that Real Madrid is in an amazing form right now and it would be almost impossible to beat them. The way Real sailed past PSG (which was a very good contender for finals) shows us what this team is capable of.
On the other hand, Juventus had a very close match with Spurs and it was those 5 minutes and goals by Dybala that changed the course of the match. I feel it would be an easy win for Real tonight if Ronaldo and Bale can play at their peak.
The only issue with Real is their defense and hence I am predicting a 2-1 score line in favor of Real today.

Not impossible, but definitely always a huge task. I do find it strange that Real keeps on winning and yet they don't get the same amount of respect teams like Juventus do (or is that my imagination?). Eyes on Ronaldo as usual but I suspect the Old Lady will just do their thing - I'd love for both teams to just not be afraid of each other tonight.

Anyway, all talk. My picks tonight:
My gut says Juventus, even if Real Madrid at home are nearly unbeatable. ML @3.3 is too tasty.

Bayern should easily win, so I'll take ML at a modest @1.61 and take an Over 3 @2.0
15796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is back to 7k$ , bitcoin is rising again! on: April 03, 2018, 02:50:12 PM
Yes, I think this is the bottom of the bitcoin, now the amount of demand for bitcoin is increasing and the big investors are paying attention to it. The good news for the bitcoin people is gradually recovering and rising again, it will bring huge profits if all have kept it in the past.

the Death Cross is when a stock's 50-day moving average crosses below the 200 day moving average (MA). The price of bitcoin came very close to doing that or according to some reports actually did so. It has done this before on several occasions but has managed to recover in all cases so far.

Yeah, been seeing a couple of Death Cross reports recently (strange I never came across it before though) and when I look at the charts myself, it seems to be a real stretch to realise (lows that were barely a minute, and from a cherry picking of exchange price). Like you said though, all of these death crosses, dead cat bounces, whatever they come up with - they've all happened before and usually failed to unfold as predicted.

Doesn't mean Bitcoin is out of the woods yet. Far from, but doesn't mean it's time to book the hearse, either.
15797  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Launching Your Own Crypto Exchange on: April 03, 2018, 01:20:55 PM
Easy is seldom good. Good is seldom easy. I can understand perfectly why whitelabeling should be attempted for crypto, but there's probably a very good reason, or reasons, as to why there hasn't been any whitelabel offering from any of the recognised exchanges. We see casino whitelabels, faucet whitelabels, simple scripts mostly. My guess is that none of these big exchanges actually have any proper security, not the sophisticated kind they claim anyway.

Woe to those who try launching their own simple exchange. Forget technology, prepare to drown in support requests. One unhappy trader is all it takes to start the scam accusations.
15798  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-03] Bitcoin's Lightning Network Is Being Attacked for Its Own Good on: April 03, 2018, 10:43:58 AM
That's why it's not ready for main-net use yet, but nothing prevents people and services doing so anyway, which is all at their own risk, and I hope they realize that. I however find it better that we face these bumps in current stage instead of later on, because that allows quick intervention to take place. Interesting aspect of this market is that there will always be people with different motivations trying to game the system, but they don't understand that the only thing they are doing is giving Bitcoin and LN the stress-test it needs to iron out any inconveniences. I see people some times talk about how slow LN's progress is, but they don't understand how important it is to not rush such an crucial development. This isn't just an altcoin you can use as testbase. Everything that happens to Bitcoin or people's funds will only result in public damage, and that's exactly why it takes so long.

Precisely why everything "takes so long" when it comes to Bitcoin upgrades or tech updates. People keep asking why things move so slowly or why there are never any release dates. I've come to see the conservativeness of core as necessary. Every time I use an alt and run into issues, every time you see alt wallets push out update week after week, fork issues block issues... I'm always glad to return to the boring stability of Bitcoin.

Would love to test out LN but am aware of my technical deficiences...
15799  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin downtrend is limited. Here's why. on: April 03, 2018, 10:10:24 AM
I would say that most of the $15k/mainstream public already sold to avoid higher loses. And that's why the price crashed.

Those who sold and cut losses are stupid enough and didn't used their common sense, specially newbies, irrational buyers.
Maybe they are. Or maybe they bought at $19k just to sell at $15k. Would you be holding until now?

I'm a hodler no matter what, but I can't call someone who sold at an obvious downtrend to rebuy lower 'stupid'.

This is by far the most plausible. We know for a fact that a lot of new money came into the market during and after December, especially with futures lending Bitcoin a further air of "unignorable" buys. It's only sensible to think that these traders would have set stop losses above 10k and those who bought in at or above 10k stopped out around 8 and 9. That's definitely pressuring the price down, and it's just the gift that keeps on gifting...

Pointless to call traders stupid when they're practising perfectly sound risk mitigation strategies.
15800  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Trace transactions with Lightning Network on: April 03, 2018, 07:50:44 AM
I do like to level of privacy offered by the lightning network, and I also agree that this is a plus to the system, but wont this make it harder for governments to try to regulate bitcoin. We now can have thousands of of-chain transaction that will not be visible to anyone so how will taxes be charged, and how will KYC measures be implemented?

The onus is on governments if they should choose to attempt to regulate Bitcoin (they can't, anyway). Regulations so far have started with exchanges and it's not unforeseeable in future that some would require exchanges to make available their LN txs. I can also foresee exchanges or hubs requiring users to perform KYC before accepting to open channels with them.

As HeRetiK points out too, tax/revenue bodies still rely on individuals for reporting. So far, IRS in the US is going after those who didn't report. Whether or not those who did/do report are doing so truthfully...

Not sure if simply running an LN node would qualify any entity as a money transmitter... otherwise barkeeps are money transmitters for opening tabs. And all of those mom and dad shops who do the same with regular customers. Volume and if it is a significant commercial activity as with exchanges might be extra considerations.
