Payments for week 2 have been sent: dcce530ecbd0170f6905b885ed33ef9450ef5bb588e8808e34fde4b6c8b9fd74
Unfortunately, as mentioned, this campaign will end with week 2, i.e with immediate effect. It didn’t bring Luckydice the attention they were hoping for and so they decided to cut it short. Originally they planned to let the campaign test-run for 4 weeks and then draw a conclusion whether to continue or not. But already after 2 weeks they decided to stop it, which is pretty unfortunate for everyone involved. There were some users, that violated the rules (again) and the post count and actual number of posts showed some discrepancy, but everybody was sent the full the amount as a gesture of good will and as kind of an apology for the inconvenience caused. Thank you all for your efforts, we hope you will be able to find a spot in another campaign soon.

It looks like this campaign will unfortunately end with immediate effect, so you can remove your signature, avatar and personal text, if you wish to do so. I will tally up and payments for week 2 will get sent today.
Sorry for inconvenience.

The Cowgirls' biggest issue isn't with their quarterback, or anything related to their offense. Yep, thats why I wouldn't break the bank for someone like Prescott. "Any" QB can do well behind that line and all the weapons at hand. Imagine what the Cowboys offense could do with someone like Brees, Rodgers or Mahomes. A dominant O-Line does so much to your offense. It gives your QB time when going through the air, it gives the WR time to get free and finish their routes, it opens up space for your RB. When you have a bad O-Line, this all collapses - it's a domino effect. I know what I am talking about, since the Giants had an awful O-Line for years and you can have the best QB, the best WR, the best RB, but without a good O-Line this means nothing. Defensively they always did only what is necessary in the last years, trying to get away with just injecting average talent (and some criminals). They just spend 25.84% of their cap on defense.

At what stage do you exactly need KYC on Sportsbet? I registered a few weeks ago, placed some bets and played some poker. I didn't need it so far, but I also didn't cash out yet. Any information on that topic would be great. I would also prefer playing without KYC. After reading 1miaus Thread concerning KYC I honestly don't want to share my private information with several websites anymore. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) They have the right to kyc you, but it's not mandatory. From my experience, as long as you lose, you won't get kyc'ed. When you start winning and make regular big-ish withdrawals, you are likely to get kyc'ed. And if something looks suspicious with your account, then you are surely getting x-rayed ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

This bookmaker is a scam. They probably pay off small amounts of btc. I deposit 2 BTC. played over 30 tickets won 4 btc. when i asked for payment they first came up with some excuses. then they returned my btc to my account and said I could continue to gamble. and that they investigate the matches I played (Vitalia Diatchenko v Maria Sakkari) . I played breaks and match winner, 13 bets, about 0.3-1.5btc per a bet (8 won and 5 lost) win about 2-2.5 btc, the rest I won in basketball (Russian vtb league). Do not deposit big sum to this bookmaker. if you get something big, it won't pay you. If anything changes i will let you know. I'm waiting for a response from them, if they want to deny me they can write to me here as well. I have all the pictures and video of the whole case, if they try close the account. I am waiting for their answer and hope it is just some mistake as they are still a young bookie. Thanks
Not sure, what you are normally staking on your bets, but why not just test with some smaller amounts first ? It's not like they have the most competitive odds in the world, so you are not somewhat dependent or urged to place your bets there. You should never trust a new bookmaker blindly and deposit tons of money right away. Just test them out a bit first, make some withdrawals and monitor what other people have to say. If you normally bet like 60BTC per bet, you can disregard what I said of course.

I found odd that Rivers is hitting free agency instead of straight out retiring, (...)
He has a lot of kids to support ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But on a more serious note, I often wondered why athletes torture themselves by playing up to their late 30's or even into their 40's and the answer is simple: They love what they are doing. And iirc Rivers never had any serious injuries, so he should still feel good playing football. Earning very good money with a thing you love is not easy to give up - even when you have more than you could ever spent probably. Rivers always gave me the feeling of really enjoying being on the field, so if he is still comfortable competing, why not. You are right about him not being an upgrade to most of the NFL teams. The Chargers always strike me as a bit of a messy organization, so I would like to see what he could do elsewhere. But QB needy teams will just draft a new QB and the others are not really in need, because they have QB's of the caliber of Rivers already (like Broncos, Jags, Panthers). Also it seems the negotiations between Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are going nowhere, he is simply asking too much money and while he has the right to ask whatever he wants at the same time the Dallas Cowboys can refuse if they think the price is not right, this most likely means the franchise tag will be applied to him and now there are some crazy rumours stating that Brady may be headed to the Cowboys, I do not believe it but if it were to happen it will be one of the biggest media storms we have ever seen. I don't think Prescott is that good tbh. He is a product from that very good O-Line and Zeke, but his throwing abilities I don't know. So I wouldn't pay him elite money. I would love Brady going to the Cowboys and think this is a team that fits his needs (good O-Line, good running game, good WR's) and playing style nowadays. But I would only love it for all the circus that comes with it ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

The business model of betting exchanges is commission. They are providing a platform, where people can bet against each other with no house edge. After a market is settled, the exchange takes commission on net winnings – you don’t have to pay commission on losing bets/markets.
At Betfair the base commission is 5%. So, if you win 100,- in a market, Betfair will take 5,- of that and you will get 95,- net win in your account. The good thing is, you can lower your commission by gaining Betfair points. You will get Betfair points for every bet you place, no matter if it wins or loses, it just has to be matched. The points you gain will determine your discount rate. Your discount rate can go from 2% up to 60%. Lets say we have a 60% discount rate with the above mentioned 100,- net win in a market. Our commission would then be:
100,- x 5% x (1-60%) = 2,-
So from previously 5% we managed to get our commission all the way down to 2%, which is the lowest it can get with Betfair to my knowledge.
The commission model gives the exchanges a safe way to earn lots of money, they just need volume/turnover (and that is what all other exchanges than Betfair are struggling with). On a Champions League match day, people will have millions of winnings and you can calculate for yourself what 2%-5% of commission means for Betfair then. And you have tennis, cricket, horse racing etc. running all day, where there is good daily turnover always.
The commission aspect with no house edge is very attractive when doing multiple bets (trading) in a market, this will be discussed in another post.

Went through the songs that were already confirmed and I am not really impressed so far ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) My ranking: Italy Greece Spain Georgia Albania Czech Republic Australia Latvia Austria Italy is really way above everyone else so far. They are odds favourite for now, but not sure, if this song is enough to win ESC.
I just read that the ESC will be available in the US via Netflix this year. Not sure, if many people are interested in ESC over there though or even know what it is. ESC is a big thing in LGBT community, so they might get some viewers there.
P.S. I happen to have my all-time fav Euro band representing Belgium (Hooverphonic). I've been listening to them ever since their cover of This Strange Effect hit my eardrums in the 1990s. So I actually have a band I support in this edition. If anyone wonders what 1990s triphop sounded like, without mentioning Massive Attack and Portishead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu2nSWSgFa8I like this sound very much and now you made me curious what the belgian entry will look like (or sound like^^). Hope you succeed in grabbing a ticket for the show ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

After 2.5 months Jürgen Klinsmann has already resigned as coach of Berlin ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) He said he had no trust in the Board of Directors and managers. Berlin has spent shitloads of money in winter break to get some new players and I guess most of them were players Klinsmann wanted. Berlin is in shambles again. Klinsmann is pretty sure done in Germany and won't get another job in Bundesliga again. Maybe some MLS team will bite ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Philip Rivers will not return to the Chargers and will be a free agent. I immediately thought about Brady going back to California, but they are no contenders in my book, so can't imagine that. According to this article, Rivers moved his family to Florida recently and though the article mentions Tampa maybe being interested in him, I would think it's more likely he will land at the Jaguars somehow. It will add some spice to the draft too. Bengals will take Burrow at #1, then you have Redskins, Lions, Giants that are not really in need of a QB and Dolphins and Chargers sitting at 5/6, who should be very interested in Tagovailoa and will both maybe try to move up to get him.

But it's biased contest with lot of politics inside. Many just vote for their neighbour countries and friebds, not for the song. That is why they introduced jury voting some years ago in addition to televoting and both count 50% each. It makes for a fairer competition in the end, but of course you still have a lot of neighbouring countries giving each other points. And then you have certain countries always getting a lot of points from country XY, because of some huge diaspora there. Romania always got a lot of points from Spain because of that for example. I wouldn't always call it politics though, if neighbouring countries give each other points. Often times these countries have cultural similarities and thus also tend to like the same style of music. The Ex-Yugoslavian countries for example often exchange points among themselves. They are attached to some musical elements which is typical in these countries and so it's not surprising, that Croatians often like the serbian entry and vice versa. The 2007 winner from Serbia, Marija Šerifović with the song Molitva, didn't catch me at all, but was very well liked in Ex-Yugoslavian countries (and lots of other countries). Different countries, different music ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
Is this event got covered or featured by some of the popular crypto-gambling betting sites before? I am not sure about this, but there are enough crypto bookmakers being present in this forum, so you could ask them, if they are willing to add some market(s). Kind of OT but I can't believe that out of 41 countries, our country, that is known for being involved in the music industry and music events, locally and internationally are not taking part in this.
Yes, its "EURO" but there are other participants outside Europe.
EDIT: my bad! I misread "Austria" into "Australia".
Europe and Eurovision are not the same ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) You have quite some non-european countries taking part in ESC (Israel, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Australia), taking part in the past (Morocco) or maybe wanting to take part in the future (Kazakhstan). It’s the same like in UEFA football, where you have non-european teams playing in UEFA competitions as well (the above mentioned apart from Australia and Morocco).

Kudos to sportsbet.io for branching out here & offering odds on what for them is kind of off topic betting. It's pretty easy to offer odds even for "off topic betting", since I don't think Sportsbet is compiling their own odds for events like Oscars, just like most bookmakers don't do ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) When lots of bookmakers still did, those were the golden years, but those are gone. Nowadays you can just copy odds or have services like betradar and put markets up without having to be knowledgeable in this very sports/topic. There are some frontrunners with early odds and the rest just copies, maybe adding some of their own insights and some juice here and there. Saves you a lot of manpower and headache and is a pretty safe way to make money as a bookmaker.

Betting OddsAs of February 16th 2020, taken from Ladbrokes: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fabload.de%2Fimg%2Fladbrokeshwjuu.jpg&t=663&c=XytiqAITjMCsjQ) Most countries, that haven't done so yet, will announce their entries starting this week, so the betting market should shape up a bit and more bookmakers will start to offer odds for this event.
The Eurovision Song Contest is not only a great event overall and lots of fun, but also nice for some betting. I will update this thread regularly with the latest news and all stuff surrounding this years ESC. Hoping for a good discussion and good insights from people all over the world that visit this forum on a daily basis and are interested in this event. Maybe we can make some bucks here together, good luck I made this thread self-moderated. I don't plan to delete a lot of posts, but rather let a fruitful discussion unfold. If it gets too spammy, I will delete posts though. So just stay on topic, share your thoughts, discuss the entries and don't spam useless stuff.

What was your best bet ever ? This might be a little braggy, but I have talked about my worst loss before and this bet wasn’t my success, but the success of a friend of mine since it was “his” bet and I just joined it and we split the stakes and winnings afterwards. It was a bet for the womens single Badminton tournament at the London 2012 Olympics. The nations are only allowed to send a small contingent of players to all the competitions. China had 3 spots for the womens singles. They pre-nominated 3 players: Wang, Wang and Wang (yes, they all had the same name ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ). Now Chinese sports authorities always like to play some games and keep people and opponents in the dark what they are really up to. My friend knew, what only a few insiders knew, and that is, that China will send Wang, Wang and Li to this competition. You can make last minute changes and they planned to replace one of the Wang’s with Li, a 21 year-old upcoming superstar, who was already in Top10 in the world at that time iirc. My friend said, she is probably already the best player in the world (it takes some time to climb up the rankings) and likely to win the women singles in Badminton. So we checked the odds, but Li wasn’t available of course, because China had nominated 3x Wang. But some bookmakers always list the most promising and likely winners and put everyone else as “any other” option. The odds for outright winning market looked something like this: Athlete | Outright Odds | __________________ | __________________ | Wang1 | 2.50 | Wang2 | 4.50 | Player X | 5.00 | Wang3 | 6.00 | Player X | 8.00 | Player X | 8.00 | Player X | 10.00 | Player X | 12.00 | Any other | 61.00 |
This is like offering odds for La Liga Champions, putting Barca @ 1,80, then Atletico, Valencia etc. and including Real in any other for odds of 50+. This “any other” option offered tremendous value, since fair odds for Li would have been around 2.50 (same as Wang1 more or less). So we grabbed our money and played multiple times maximum bet on” any other” (you can repeat bets at some bookies, even though you make max bets all the time). You can't stake hundreds of thousands on such bets, but it was still more than we expected. We brought the odds down a bit, but everything above 2.50 was value, so we placed more bets. We discovered another bookie that offered the same odds and placed maximum bets there as well. In the end we had staked a pretty huge amount on average odds of around 40 for any other I would think. The tournament started and of course Li was nominated for China instead of Wang3. She had no problems disposing of her opponents and won every match with 2-0 sets and reached the final, where she would meet Wang1. During the whole tournament (it lasted for 10 days I think), we prayed that she doesn’t get injured or sick. For the final Wang1 was small favourite, with odds around 1.70. The match started and Li was dominant, edging out a healthy lead in the first set. That was the point, where we decided to hedge out a bit. In advance we already deposited lots of money into our Bet365 accounts, since we knew they would offer live-betting for this event. So we started to place some bets on Wang1, whose odds kept rising during the first set, which Li won 21-15. After that first set, we were already guaranteed a lot of money, no matter the outcome. Wang1 won the second set 23-21, but Li won the third set 21-17 and was crowned womens single Badminton winner in the London 2012 Olympics. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fabload.de%2Fimg%2Flixwjdb.jpg&t=663&c=sYe5VewEyYuNpg) Unfortunately Li had to retire from professional Badminton quite early due to some knee injuries, but she will be my Olympic heroine forever.

Is the weather so bad in England and France? There is a storm approaching. You can of course play football when there is a storm, but at least the match in Bundesliga was postponed, because organizers couldn't guarantee the spectators safety while coming to and leaving the stadium. Postponing is for actuarial reasons then of course.

The opposite of back bets is lay bets, which means you bet against a particular outcome. Laying an outcome requires a little bit of math to calculate the odds and your stakes. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2FPTPBFTx%2Fpsg.jpg&t=663&c=t-Vemidwcx47bw) The pink fields and everything right hand from them are orders waiting to get matched from people who want to play back bets. So there are people that want to play PSG @1.40 for a cumulated amount of 3,420 Euro, for @1.41 for 3,728 Euro etc. Then there is people that want to bet on Lyon for odds of 9.00 for 48,- Euro total and people are waiting to get matched for the draw at 6.00 for 566,- Euro. There are more orders to the right, but they are not visible. Betting against something requires you to calculate the odds - you are playing bookmaker now. The formula is: 1 + (1/(back odds - 1). Lets say, we want to bet against PSG win, our odds for that would then be 1 + (1/(1.40-1) = 3.50 accordingly. For your staking, you would now have to think like a bookmaker again. The amount you let your "opponent" stake, will be what you get from him, if he loses his bet. The amount you would have to pay him, if he wins, is his stake multiplied by (odds-1). Lets assume we want to bet against PSG and risk 40,- Euro on that bet. Our lay bet would then be: Lay PSG @1,40 for a stake of 100,- Euro. If PSG wins, we would have to pay 100*(1.40-1) = 40 Euro. If PSG fails to win, we will get the stake of 100,- Euro. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2F9YHgzpg%2FPSG2.jpg&t=663&c=XeS6Mo9yGXinMA) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2F19ZbT7M%2FPSG3.jpg&t=663&c=Aj1cfKfHq1bmYQ) Laying 1.40 for a stake for 100,- is nothing different than playing double chance X2 on Lyon with a bookmaker for @3.50 for 40,- in the end. But you also have the possiblity of laying a correct score, for example the 0-1, and backing and laying on exchanges has other advantages, which I will discuss in some upcoming post.
