Obviously the whole Silk road thing was a setup from the Get-Go. Nobody from Texas that had the skills to develop such a website would EVER be dumb enough to follow through with such a ridiculous idea. In this day and age, I don't see how ANYONE would even consider buying drugs using the computer. The FBI database of SR users is most likely comprised of 90% middle school-aged boys.

1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I think Bitcoin will be over $5000 a coin on: November 03, 2013, 05:27:44 AM
You never know it could go much higher than that, but for the time being $5000 is a reasonable figure.
1594  Economy / Services / Re: Link exhange with us! Bitcoin Link Directory @ BitcoinBarrel.com on: November 03, 2013, 04:53:56 AM
As long as you post original content you'll be fine. Forum signatures could be considered a "Link Scheme" but Google is alright with that.

SEO is about monitoring Google's algorithm changes and adapting to it. These changes happen daily, with most not having much impact.

So be careful

1596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Urgent! Need to raise ~$1,200 USD in 24 hrs for South Pole expedition. on: November 03, 2013, 04:23:04 AM
I commend your determination, but realistically you won't be anywhere near the south pole. Most likely a ice shelf off the coast of antarctica. I doubt they'll let you get near where you ought to go. But, you may be able to reach the North Pole which I think would be more interesting anyway.

It would be neat if you could get a Bitcoin flag directly under Polaris the North Star at the real North Pole. Everyone could follow the North Star to reach it.

1597  Economy / Speculation / Why I think Bitcoin will be over $5000 a coin on: November 03, 2013, 03:31:49 AM
Many of you know Satoshi has mined around 1 million Bitcoins from when the network first launched. That being said, what do you think the net worth of an individual would be that created the world's largest and most influential digital currency?

Mark Zuckerburg's net worth is around $20 Billion dollars USD for creating Facebook. There's no doubt that Facebook has revolutionized online Media to become the largest social site the world has ever known.

But Bitcoin has the potential to change the landscape of the global financial system forever and could possibly become a worldwide standard for digital transactions. It's already moving in that direction and growing every day.

So if Satoshi's Net worth comes anywhere close to $20 Billion then it wouldn't be surprising if Bitcoin was valued more than $5000 per coin.

1,000,000 Bitcoins at $5,000 per coin is $5 Billion USD.

What do you think?

1600  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1893-S* Morgan Silver Dollar Coin! XF40 Great condition! on: November 02, 2013, 05:44:50 AM
If that's real you might be better off taking it to a coin dealer:

Quote
As a rough estimate of this coins value you can assume this coin in poor condition will be valued at somewhere around $6492, while one in "perfect" condition can bring $550000.
