1581  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: August 20, 2012, 06:13:31 AM
Hm... i have 0.39630179BTC available from dividends and wanted to place an order into orderbook that should not match the ask-price that is at 0.09989BTC. So i added to buy 5 for the price of 0.0789. That makes 0.3945BTC. Which clearly is below the available BTC i have. Why doesnt it work? The fees doesnt have changed have they? And when i go into order book and someone sells to my price he has to pay a fee, not me. So whats wrong now?

I've had the same problem in the past.
It's a known issue.
No matter if your order goes to the book or is instantly matched - either case, you need to have +0.5% to place it.
If it went to the book, the fee is eventually returned to you after somebody takes your order later, or you cancel it.

I'm dying to hear if the conference call has taken place and what the feedback is  Smiley
It's finished. This time I had some kind of problem with my place so it turned from a video chat to a text-only meeting soon.
Though I can confirm taht we saw his face and heard his voice for some time Tongue
1583  Economy / Securities / Re: (GLBSE) TYGRR.BOND-P 4.85% weekly uninsured pass though bond to BTCST on: August 18, 2012, 02:31:09 PM
I don't know why everybody says that the bonds will be worth 1.0 next Tuesday

According to my knowledge, if Pirate keeps the promise, each bond is worth at least 1.068 BTC on Tuesday.
Pirate said that he is still paying the 7% interests - so why are you talking about 1.0?

People have waited one week, their money was (and still is) exposed at BS&T default - they earned the weekly dividends and there is no reason why they should give them to Goat.
He earns anyway 0.02 BTC from every bond he issued, plus almost 3% from all the interests the bonds pay - and all this has been risk free for him.

So mind your business people, because for me talking about 1.0 today is like shouting out: "Goat, we love you, please screw us more by taking the last 1900+ BTC of interest entirely for youself!"

And there are currently 5917 asks at 1.066 BTC or less - so Pirat could actually get some risk free money on it, if he only wasn't so reluctant to open a GLBSE account Smiley

He bought back the "turd bonds" from you at the price you initially paid, before selling new bonds at a lower price - and you are complaining?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84963.msg1068606#msg1068606

In my opinion he did you a favor - so no wonder that he makes fun of you now, because it is actually quite funny Smiley

I initially paid? LOL!
Oh, sorry.
So you got them for free? Smiley
Even less reasons to bitch at the guy now.

The pass through bonds are now essentially bets if pirate will pay back or not... it's a pretty equilibrium, interesting...

If pirate knows hes going to pay back he should buy every single bond out there for massive profits  Cheesy
He doesn't have GLBSE account Tongue
1587  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: The sorry and thank you thread on: August 18, 2012, 12:29:24 PM
If he returns the funds it will be a boost for the bitcoin economy, 30k + coins now available for investment elsewhere.
right time to invest and who pays what?

I believe he mentioned on IRC yesterday that "BST is over 500k BTC"
1588  Economy / Securities / Re: (GLBSE) TYGRR.BOND-P 4.85% weekly uninsured pass though bond to BTCST on: August 18, 2012, 11:37:19 AM
In the contract does not say that anywhere, all the benefits of the new purchases are not deposited in BTCST, nor will generate no interest if Chaang Noi repurchase at 1btc he would lose money.
What you see being traded are just bonds which already are deposited in BTCST.
They are just changing owners - some people obviously dont want to wait for BTCST and then the PPT to close down next week.

Pirate pays zero percent now. There is no more BST.
Who told you that?

Starting Monday I’ll begin systematically closing and withdrawing accounts as coins are transferred.
The moment your account is closed you’ll receive your coins plus any interest accrued up to the hour it was sent.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50822.msg605957#msg605957

So in fact, the last payment should be even more than 1.068/bond - depending how late Pirate will actually close Goat's account.
1591  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: August 18, 2012, 08:00:59 AM
You call people who sell your bond <1.0 stupid, but the truth is that they are actually not that stupid, because the main reason why the TYGRR.BOND-P have been underpriced for weeks is that you simply don't honor your own obligations.
To be fair, I have talked with Goat via PM, and I've already sent in my shares to be paid out at 1.0485 (or whatever the new Pirate rate is, minus Goat's fee) per share on Tuesday.
But Pirate still pays 7%, so you should be getting 1.068, if he was buying them back from you at 1.0, as promised.

If fact, after Pirate returns the deposits with the last week interests, as he says he will, each holder should receive exactly 1.068 per bond, as the last payment.
But will this be the actual case? Having my experience with Goat, I just cannot wait to find out... Tongue

After further investigation, I have to admit that now I do believe that Alberto, vel jjfarren is the guy who created bitscalper.
There are not too many people out there who use capital letters while typing, but don't use a capital letter for "I"...

Plus, what has already been pointed out, like the DNS records.
Thanks guys for opening my eyes.
1593  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: August 18, 2012, 06:33:18 AM
Hmmm... now I'm starting to worry Smiley

But what do you guys mean that he has bitscalpers source code?

bitdaytrade is an exact clone of it apparently.
how can you say?
did someone look into the code?

the ui looked different to me.

he is the bitscalper scammer, seems like he is failing again. scam or epic fail, who knows.
For the record: there were couple of posts referring to this statement, but they got removed by theymos, after the author of the quoted post reported to the admin that my reply to it was "off-topic".

Though, after my further request, theymos moved the deleted content to the relevant topic.

1596  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 17, 2012, 03:36:34 PM
Is the fact that you managed to collect the capital so quickly going to seed up the project, or are you going to wait till end of August anyway?

Also, if I may suggest something, please cash the bitcoins over the counter - we like the price high as it is Tongue
1597  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: August 17, 2012, 03:00:36 PM
The following post got moved from another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93445.msg1106708#msg1106708

Yeah.
And those whose bonds have been traded below a 'promised' buy-back price for another week already - they shouldn't be the ones who throw the first stone.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
I mean Goat's TYGRR.BOND-P

Oh this is off topic trolling. He derailed my thread too. About 3 pages of crazy rants. A mod should clean this up.
Don't be impudent. Despite of what you think, I'm not stupid and I see quite well through what you're actually doing.

You advertise yourself as the most honest guy out there, more trustworthy than OCT rating, asking people who don't trust you to keep off your bonds, you even sacrifice for the investors, but when it actually comes to fulfilling your commitments, i.e. to buyback the bonds as you promised, you just look away pretending that you haven't noticed the question. Or you are just too busy with your next holiday...

You call people who sell your bond <1.0 stupid, but the truth is that they are actually not that stupid, because the main reason why the TYGRR.BOND-P have been underpriced for weeks is that you simply don't honor your own obligations.
So next time, before you start throwing shit onto others, why won't you just try looking into a mirror first?

As soon as password hashes are compromised - I assume the site hacked.
For me if doesn't matter if they were made with md5, sha666, bcrypt or just stored in plain text - in any case it is completely unacceptable to let the user database to be leaked out.

So I don't care about the hashing method, since I learned long ago to use a different password of different sites.

Not exactly true, bcrypt hased passwords with sufficient rounds makes it a lot harder to crack. They'll have your email alright but getting the password will likely take months possibly years, of course this depends on the password difficulty.
TLDR bcrypt FTW.
That is true, but I don't use the same passwords on other sites, so I don't care if it gets decrypted or not, after the hack.
If someone was able to dump the database on a site (using SQL injection I'd guess), in 99% cases he would as well be able to modify it, which would allow him to log into my account anyway - whether he managed to decrypt the original password, or not.

Sure, but just saying bcrypt helps... a little.
It does help a little indeed, but making the withdrawals manual helps much more as when it comes to the actual security.
Though, I would still be concerned about how they handle the hedging, because it'd be quite risky to do it manually... and even more risky to do it automatically with so many issues reported by now.

I also agree and fully support your approach of shutting the site down each time there is even any suspicion of a malfunction - which obviously didn't happen today, even though one guy has managed to multiply 0.1 BTC into millions... Smiley

This way when one site gets hacked I don't care what hashing method they used - I only care if they have managed to protect my money from being stolen. Tongue
