Relax, buddy. While you may have enjoyed Real Madrid's poor performance, it was actually the result of Benzema's on- and off-field injuries. I anticipated Barcelona to win today's match by three points, assuming Villarreal didn't mount a comeback in the second half. However, this doesn't mean that Barcelona is far ahead of Real Madrid; they still have a chance to lose to some very tenacious relegation teams, and before you say jack, they are only a few points beside Real Madrid. I've seen this happen in the Premier League, and it could happen here as well.
How can you say that when everyone in the team is worried that Barcelona will leave Real Madrid far behind? You know, 11 points behind Barcelona is a lot, it's not a small number of points to expect Barcelona to give up its good chance for the title. But optimism is necessary, especially if you are a supporter of Real Madrid, and yes, just relax.

You made it sound like having standing on the table is a continuous process to win over and over, 11 point is a wide gap that will be so hard to overlap over night but even Barcelona wouldn't continue to win each of their matches, common!

Real Madrid won the Club World Cup yesterday with good finishing, I didn't expect them to have so many goals, none of Madrid's players are currently injured, we should expect good results soon in here in Laliga.
I hope that doesn't mean much because I'm even very surprised why Real Madrid fielded their main squad only to beat a mediocare team so mercilessly. I think that is the only title for Madrid this season, the rest is highly doubtful.

Lmao, wait, did you expect them to bring in their under-17 players when Al-Hilal came in with their best squad, the same squad that beat Ronaldo's current team to nill, the same team who dominates almost all Saudi's League, lol say something else because Al-Hilal is that team that no one could be compared with, they even create chances to score 2 goals in that final, that tells you that they are a good team. Madrid will bounce back, they are known for this as a Miracle team.  Kiss

I think Liverpool is really not doing well. Their performance drops, and they haven't even won in their last 4 games (draw once and lose by landslide score 3 times). Everton is not in great form either but Everton tends to play well against big teams, where they won against Arsenal and drew against Man City. So I think both Liverpool and Everton have the same big chance in this match.
However, let's see if Klopp's strategy remains the same as putting Nunez up front for 90 minutes. Gakpo was also lamented by the former PSV coach for following Vandijk advice while his wish at the time was to go to Manchester United. Now, with Liverpool's condition getting worse, not only in terms of performance but trust in Klopp will fade if you still can't get the Red out of this bad zone.

What more can Gakpo do than to do his best, not that Liverpool's power rest on his shoulder, he is good but he can't do more than his reserve energy, not even the already established players could save Liverpool from his own mess talk more of him, and by the ways, we all have our choices, he could join Manchester United that his former PSV coach wanted him to go and would probably end up being a bench player, I don't even think Erik would want to replace him with Bruno Fernandez. Gapko has a dream, despite Liverpool not been able to beat their opponent, we all could see how that guy converts his energy with ball possession.
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 12, 2023, 10:10:40 PM
I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.

You made mentioned of Nigeria and that caught my attention, I wouldn't say your argument is false, it could be that your fact is coming from your circle but I can assure you that I know people who take gambling as a business and they do risk management every day, they know their budget and how much to stake, how much they are willing to lose and also know their limits for the day, they don't just play to earn, they have a foundation and channels they support the street financially because only a street knows a street.

You might heard of the famous Nigeria Sporting bet guy name Ekitipikin, this guy has won millions and millions multiple times, even last week, I witnessed it my self as I also won from his betting code, he is living his dream, nice house and also other business he is running from all the money he won from gambling, so get your facts right before you say things.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 12, 2023, 09:54:10 PM
Farmers who have chickens for eggs especially on a large scale, easily get tired of eating the eggs from their chickens or even eggs in general. Caterers get tired of eating their own pastries, just as people who are exposed to certain produce get tired of them due to over exposure. Do you think this experience is the same for casino owners and owners of sports betting platforms?

Do you think that the owners of casinos and sports betting platform, gamble as much as other people do? If they gamble, do you think they gamble on their platform?

There is an extra satisfaction you get when you consume the same goods over and over, you don't have to be a farmer to have this feeling, and you will get tired at the end of the day, but gambling, on the other hand, is all about addiction, there is no marginal utility or satisfaction you can get from gambling except winning of bets that can make you happy, and before you can achieve that, you may experience plenty of losses, that been said.

Low key, the casino owner understands gambling better than the players; they know why they established the platform; they wouldn't be so stupid to do so when they know they could lose everything (I'm talking about the sport aspect), but they might play the casino aspect for entertainment purposes with some dummy money (not real money). In my opinion, a businessperson will remain a businessperson.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 12, 2023, 09:43:44 PM
There are two games on Tuesday, but everyone is focused on the game between PSG and Bayern Munich. Actually, I'm going to do like everybody else and watch this match. PSG have too many injured players. Also, we read a lot of news that there are some minor disagreements within the team. They will continue to be champions in the French league, but I do not think it will be easy for them to advance further in this arena. I think it's hard to talk about the result of the first match, but I think Bayern are the favorites of the tour.

The fact that PSG's key players have already been injured while they have decisive matche in two days is another reason why people are paying close attention to the club. In addition, I personally want Messi and Mbape to win the Champions League as I'm curious as to how Fifa will decide this year's winner, specifically whether they will favor the Adidas-sponsored player or the France favorite. Back to the game: Messi and Mbape won't be missing our match against Bayern Munich, and their absence against Monaco yesterday was the reason they dropped points. This was a wise decision, by the way, they can adjust in their domestic League while Champions League is just home and away, two chance and they are gone.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 12, 2023, 09:24:41 PM
Barcelona is gaining more traction. I don't believe Real Madrid will win La Liga because Barcelona currently leads the standings with 56 points to Real Madrid's 45 points. Real Madrid has also won its last five games. It is currently playing Villarreal and winning 1:0 thanks to goals from Pedri and Lewandowski assisting. I don't believe Villarreal will win because I know Lewandowski still has goals in him and more attacks coming.

Relax, buddy. While you may have enjoyed Real Madrid's poor performance, it was actually the result of Benzema's on- and off-field injuries. With the convincing win against Aston Villa, Man City are only 3 points behind Arsenal although Arsenal have a game in hand. This is the kind of pressure I would have loved Arsenal to avoid. We all know how Man City can get at this point of the season. They can even get up to 15 games winning streak when they are in that mode. Topping with the fact that Pep is angry at the league because he feels there are direct attacks against them.

Arsenal lack consistency in their last 5 matches, they had the opportunity to give more gap to Manchester City when they first secured 50points but that was the moment they began to start their sluggishness and difficulty to win ordinary Everton, they don't disappoint with the other Arsenal they are know in the past but better still, they have good form than what Manchester City had played; the two team next outcome will be determine who will move next by point.

Quote
I still have a lot of faith in Arsenal and I believe they can win this. The season is still long and anything can happen but Arsenal's chances of winning the league just got smaller. If Man City wins their next fixture which is against Arsenal and goes top of the table then that's a wrap because nothing is bringing them down at that point.

Arsenal has every reason to beat Manchester City but City recent Media attack should be an advantage for Arsenal, Guardiola has been hiding it but it is all in his face, their today Aston Villa defeat was normal because there last matches says it all.
1588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 10, 2023, 07:20:15 PM
Manchester City is a really great team. It would not be fair to match their game with any other team. They play very good football and the coach of their team is a very competent person. Under whose leadership, Manchester City is moving forward.

We're not saying Manchester City is a bad team they are one of the best teams in the Premier League at least in the last 3 years
But there is a team that is better than them, yes that is Arsenal who still consistently dominate the standings until today.

How do you feel after saying this? Feeling ecstatic after conquering the Premier League for a season after five years. Grin Don't try to compare Arsenal to a team that has won three EPL titles during that time, Arsenal doesn't even come close to where Manchester City is because despite consistently finishing in the Europa League, the Gunners have never taken home a Europa Cup. I still believe Manchester City would like to follow Arsenal until the end of the season because it is not over until it is over.
1589  Economy / Economics / Re: The fear of global recession is real or just a speculation? on: February 10, 2023, 06:50:12 PM
There is much discussion in both the print and electronic media regarding the probability of global recession as a consequence of ongoing war in Ukraine, but I think unlikely to happen any time soon, even if it does, it is expected to be less severe than recession in 2007, as global GDP is still growing albeit at a slow rate. The real challenges for policy makers are growing debt, climate change and increasing frequency of natural disasters, such as earthquake, hurricanes and floods, which pose significant risk to world economy. These need to be addressed by global community urgently, in order to ensure a stable and thriving economy.

Lots have happened within the space of 2022 in both the traditional environment and crypto market that could lesser recession even it comes as they say, it is possible that we might experience a recession or maybe not but the more I look into this headline, the more I see it as a tool by opposition government to tackle democratic party as a message to people that he didn't do well in his regime and should be replaced after his first time in office. Another reason why I think the recession is a tool that people have been trying to exploit is the bears in crypto and also Tradfi, they are trying to make people fear that we will be going down another history where the economy will be in a downtrend so that everyone can sell their shares and bitcoin, it is all visible from their write up and reaction.
1590  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 10, 2023, 02:54:16 PM
Well, I have to clarify that personally I have never had any loan or debt in my life so this thread has nothing to do with my experience but intends to find out how people in loan/debt deal with the problem. Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.

I always make sure that life doesn't give me problems that would be heavier than my pockets, sometimes the people we see often as loan takers don't do it on purpose, sometimes life challenges them with problems that are more than they can chew and as result, they don't have any choice than to accept been a borrower. You see health challenges is one of the biggest that can ruin your financial ladder; when your health consumes more than what you earn, you will be left with nothing, trust me.

In other ways, there are these sets of people, they are the very lazy types, they would rather borrow money than work their way out and that's how they move from one lender to another place until when they couldn't borrow more and how to pay back becomes a problem for them which is regarded as an addiction.
1591  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 10, 2023, 02:35:05 PM
There are two categories of people when it comes to the choice of when to receive payment for work. There is the category that prefers it be paid weekly so they can off set bills as they come so they do not become a burden, while there is the category that prefers it monthly so they can plan well for the month.

If employers put out the option before you to either to be paid weekly or monthly for your job, which will you prefer? Please give reasons asides the ones I have stated to support your answer.

This is all about choice, I can choose to have my paycheck handled to me weekly for some reason like early access to money before the end of the month to settle bills as you have said, and also counter emergency calls when there is a need but on the other hand, I prefer monthly payment because it can come in a bunch and I can use it wisely with a well draft scale of preference, I can't spend wisely with weekly payment and it will also be difficult to save with that method. If a company gives MOU to their workers, I will choose monthly, which will save me to cover emergency situations and home bills.

Quote
Would you prefer to be a contract staff for a company that is being paid a certain percentage for every job delivered, or would you prefer a job with a fixed monthly or weekly income? (Give a reason for your answer aside the reason that will be stated)

With percentage earnings, you can earn more and you will be very motivated to work, but the disadvantage will be when there is no job.
With Fixed earnings, you are sure of what to receive, but sometimes the workload you may encounter may be so much that the salary you are paid does not befit the work you put in.

This particular one depends on the environment you work in, Contract staff are been treated as nothing, and they are underpaid, I do not want to see myself as a contract staff but a full time that guarantees full benefits.
1592  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 10, 2023, 02:15:48 PM
I mentioned somewhere that my closest friend has been unemployed for over a year due to the devastating collapse of his line of business and and his wife's sickness. Last time we met was a month ago and he was depressed in certain ways which worried me a lot. I called him to see if he was fine last Sunday and he told me he was looking for jobs and the next day he would go to several interviews. I was glad to hear that. Last night I called to follow up and he said the interviews were not going well. I aksed why. He told me that nowadays most companies are not doing well, barely making even actually. The interviewers would just say the job is not entitled to any insurance or benefits, what they can offer is a very low base salary and the commission part would be subject to how many sales the employee can bring to their company. My friend was not willing to take any of them because he has a family to feed and his wife's condition is unstable which could need a lot of money for surgery at any time. I understand him and am trying my best to help him find a high-pay job.

My friend's story sends me a signal: no matter how much I earn right now, try to keep my job and souce of income stable. I am also a family man and have responsibilities. Anything bad can also happen to me so I have to be prepared to the unforseen problems, although I am doing fine now. Make hay while the sun shines. If you have any advice for my friend, please let me know. Thank you.

There is a reason why the government set the minimum wage for workers, some companies are not following the rules, and they will rather see you suffer under their umbrella than see you earn what you deserve, this is the problem people face with private companies. I believe your friend knows his worth and what he presents to the table at the end of the day to sort out bills, we all want to work to feed the family but that doesn't mean we have to go the extra mile to be a slave under people.

Know matter what you earn, one source of income is not enough in this generation to feed a family, you need a side hustle or passive income in addition to what you earn today, look at inflation impact and things have become supper expensive for a common man to afford, we need to double our efforts in the ways we earn but passive income should be a priority in this new generation.
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My greatest fear about Bitcoin Halving. on: February 09, 2023, 10:55:08 PM
I have this kind of vibe that bitcoin will revive in price and the network usage will multiply come 2024, the short term wave will come before the bull run and the mega wave will come after the halving, this is how the bitcoin cycle works and that's how it will continue to be except may be some little changes in its metrics but rest assure, it will move.

There is something I also understand earlier this year from bitcoin, what did I learn? Bitcoin price will be move by the whales regardless of how you feel, the price you think as support and resistance, if they wish to move past them, they will without thinking it twice, this is what I have understood about the bitcoin market. Also, litecoin having is some months away and some whales are already preparing in advance, bitcoin will move regardless my friend.
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: February 09, 2023, 10:40:32 PM
Cryptocurrency can be accepted as payment for your goods, but the main price for the goods must be indicated either in your national currency and only as a secondary price already in Bitcoin.Since the price is different every day,the buyer needs to declare the price in the BTC personally. So far, this is only possible, or use automatic payment services that convert cryptocurrency themselves at the exchange rate.

This things are not so difficult to implement, just like the way sellers do make used of invoice in shopping and paying of items, the same can be done with crypto, the QR codes are easier to make payments, the seller should mount it on the items they are putting for sales and the equivalent amount will be displayed on the buyer screen, not necessary that conversion should be required.

If I'm the seller and I sell small items that are not too costly, I will make them have my payment done in sats, it encourages buyers to think of Bitcoin in lower denominations than in larger caps, imagine telling customer to pay 2 bitcoin may sound too big for a small item even if it worth it in usd, it might discourage the buyer.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 08:08:03 PM
Gambling has become an everyday thing for some people and this act has lead to serious addiction which is not good. When gambling we should understand that we are just playing for fun. Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again. Me myself am a sesonal gambler and i only gamble on the sport i know which is soccer, i think exploration of new gambling games you are familiar with also causes this repeated feeling of always quitting gambling. I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I tend to experience this, especially when I suffer losses that I wasn't prepared for. Gambling is intended to be enjoyable, I know, but there may be emotional harm when you lose some games, such as those you were so confident in but lost in the end.

We all know how difficult it is to predict football games to draw, so I had 6 games selected. Of those, 5 ended in draws with no goals scored, and the sixth game was going smoothly until the final minutes (about 87 minutes after a substitution) when this s*lly guy came off the bench and scored a goal. I was outraged because the odds were high, and I was expecting free weekend money only for that player to spoil my tickets and change my mood, but the funniest thing is that I have opened more than 3 bets after that, I find it fun to play when I am bored that's why I keep coming back to play.
1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 09, 2023, 07:42:02 PM
After the Manchester City win, Erik ten Hag's team continues to lose points with yesterday's Leeds match. There is a bit of bad luck, there are injuries and suspended players, especially the absence of Casemiron is a big shortcoming, if he was playing in this match, the result would not have ended like this. Rasford continues to score, trying to carry his team every game, although not enough in this game. They are also under stress for the UEFA match with Barcelona, it will be very difficult in that match.

Am I getting the wrong message about Manchester City's win? The last time Manchester City had a match was with Tottenham and they lost to them after Kane marked to become the highest goal scorer in Tottenham and again Manchester United didn't lose a point, they drew with Leed United with 1 point each for every team and funny enough, it was a fixed game in the sense that it was supposed to be played since last year(round 8 ) and they allowed Lead United that is strongly running away from Relation zone stop them from having full 3points.

I have noticed pattern teams follow from the beginning of this season, ones they strategize and become the talk of the people, when it is time to do something important, that is when they start playing nonsense, look at the last top 5 teams match at the standing recent matches, it is so hard these days to make money from betting, so sick of this teams.
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 07:20:55 PM
Many times we are in a situation and we do not not realize the intensity of the problem. One such case is compulsive gambling. In simple words, it means that you are unable to control the urge to get involved with gambling even after understanding the potential harms associated with it.

Here are some signs of compulsive gambling :

1) Gambling related thoughts are always in your mind even when you are working on other activities

2) You keep increasing the gambling related money with each game

3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss

4) Ignoring other important work like job just for gambling

Would you like to add to these signs ? Have you ever found yourself trapped in this situation and how did you get rid of this ?

I think the major cause of the highlighted problems you listed is from loss precisely, but you made mention of it among the list anyway. Ones you see a gambler is having disturbance about his gambling ways, then it could be that his trying to recoup lost or probably borrow money to gamble and he is in a state of denial trying to get back what he has lost, it is this moment you see them with unrealized calculated risk but they forget that gambling doesn't work that way.

You know what gives me comfort any time I stake a game or wager my money, I make sure that I zero my mind off that money I used as soon as that game becomes accepted, if the result comes as I predicted, it is fine and if it doesn't, I'm still good to go but I make sure I don't stake my money blindly, I go through my options before I bet, and the earlier you realized this, the better days you have with your normal life.

Nunez is being considered as Sadio Mane's replacement. But the gameplay of these two players is completely different. So if Klopp doesn't come up with a different match strategy then I don't expect a better performance from Nunez and Liverpool. Liverpool will definitely need to change their match tactics if they want to get better performances from players like Nunez and Gakpo. Also I agree with you. It is difficult to perform well in the first season of the Premier League. It is hoped that they will adapt themselves well to the Liverpool squad by next season. These two players are very talented. They will not disappoint the Liverpool management.

Whatever Liverpool is seeing is well deserved, they were paying Mane around $100k per week, the agents asked for an extension of his contract to around $400k per week but were adamant to pay the same wages, and clearly, Mane is playing for himself and his people, we can all deny how he is helping people back home, and as soon as they got a better deal of $350k at Bayern, he left for greener pastures. They should have at least made him equivalent to Salah's worth because Mane is responsible for the majority of his goal assists.

Putting pay asides, Nunes and Gakpo are good players but the fans shouldn't expect a miracle from a few games, it will take time, I also look forward to what Gakpo will do when he starts his first minutes in the Champions League, if he manages to win against Real Madrid, then they would have some hope and future for Liverpool.

There is a good news for Man United, a new takeover bid from Qatar come for Man United. If the deal come true, MU will get more money to buy new players. The source says on media:
Quote
“There are significant funds available," sources told the publication. “These people are serious. They want to make sure that United are where they should be and they are confident theirs will be the strongest bid. They want to strengthen the squad to put them back at the top but they also want this to be for the good of the community."

Read: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1731942/Man-Utd-Qatar-takeover-Erik-ten-Hag-Premier-League-football-news-Glazers

But, the real questions is not about how much money they have, but "how MU can manage their position to back on title track, even with the new money power they have"? Because sometimes even a club spent hundred million pounds to buy player, they are still failed to win anything.

I think it is all about coordination; using Chelsea as an analogy is ideal because they had the most signed players during the January transfer window but have yet to reverse their poor trend; the more I look at Chelsea, the more I feel for Potter because I think he is a ticking time bomb that will soon explode his career.

However, when it comes to Manchester United, Erik is a competent manager who was able to overcome many criticisms and media lies throughout their misunderstandings in the club; if they obtain new mints of cash flow and can afford new players after this season, their reputation will become strong again ( the red devil).
