1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Some coins or a hardware wallet? on: October 27, 2022, 03:49:47 AM
My uncle's birthday is around the corner ( two weeks to this time ) and I want to gift him something related to crypto, the last time we talked he is so interested in crypto and I told him to keep doing some research online, what do you think is the best gift for a 64 years old man? I am thinking about Doge coin or a Hardware wallet?
1582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too risky to leave BTC right now on: October 19, 2022, 06:18:57 AM
It's way too risky to be out of bitcoin right now because people are calling for 10,000$ per Bitcoin before they will start buying,  it sounds like when people are calling for 100,000$ per BTC months ago and the opposite happened, now people are calling for 10k again, the opposite might happen again, the best way to deal with this is start buying BTC every week, maybe on Mondays? This way you will feel better.....remember, when people are calling for the same thing the opposite always happens.

Do not sit back and do nothing

Honestly OP the price of BTC is volatile which means you can not access it anytime or know that the price will go up higher or lower, in short, it depends on the market. So if other said that they will buy BTC is the price will go down as they expected then that's their decision.  But for me now is a good time to buy because the price is lower 2x than  almost a year ago which the btc price is reaching $60k.
Exactly, I'm happy someone fully understand why I created this topic, I will still stand on my point, if you aren't already dollar cost average into BTC you are making a huge mistake, the useful ness of stable coins is to take advantage of the market but since no one can predict where market is headed we have to ease our risks by investing gradually as the market price goes down.
1583  Bitcoin / Wallet software / About BTC on metamask wallet on: October 12, 2022, 11:09:58 AM
Is there anyway to add BTC into metamask or its impossible? Also other wallets have BTC and alts in them like trust and atomic wallet but why not on metamask?
1584  Economy / Trading Discussion / My exorbitant lessons in last bull market on: October 10, 2022, 03:45:08 PM
What is your exorbitant lesson investing in crypto last bull market (2021-2022)? I will like to share mine...

1. I watch YouTube videos of people gambling on meme coins with just 100$ and making thousands of dollars, I did the same and I ended up with tokens that I can't sell on an exchange, buying works but not selling.

2. Friends told me that Vitalik have promised Proof of Stake on Ethereum for years and it never came to past, I believe them and invested in Eth mining equipment, I am now selling to gamers since they are not profitable, not even a bit.

3. 100k per BTC nearly brainwashed me, I escaped this though but I really believed it, if I had some funds at the time I might have invested on BTC at ATH, thinking its going to 100k.

1586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Give me a minute of your time on: October 06, 2022, 07:44:31 AM
With the way companies are going bankrupt this days I think I should warn my fellow Bitcointalk friends, give me a minute of your time.

Forget about how big a crypto exchange have grown, do not leave your coins on exchange, we can never tell which exchange will go down unexpectedly in this bear market.

I have some USDT that I plan to use to buy coins probably when BTC is down to 10k which I believed would happened in September but it never did so I moved the USDT out of the exchange back into my wallet.

Do not relent, do not trust any exchange, trust only your private keys, remember, not your keys, not your coins.
1587  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What will be the future of Binance till 2025? on: October 03, 2022, 07:31:57 AM
I believe that Binance will be here for many years but retaining the number 1 for long isn't something anyone can know, maybe FTX can take the lead then who knows? FTX looks ugly like some users said but more effort can be put into the design in future, the latest on binance is the war on crypto criminals, I read this online yesterday.
1588  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to know more about Safepal before buying on: October 02, 2022, 01:06:43 PM
SafePal is cheap but I will recommend open source hardware wallets instead.

SafePal is a close source wallet
SafePal software is close source
The hardware wallet can not be connected to other software wallet like Electrum which is open source
The software wallet only supporting mobile phones, not supporting computers
Not supporting multisig
No coin control for privacy

I think this below link is also legit, which is how you can access where the hardware are sold

https://docs.safepal.io/safepal-hardware-wallet/orders/buy-a-safepal-wallet

1) Is https://safepal.com the original or official website for this hardware wallet? That's what I found online.
On the link above where you can buy SafePal, the first site is their official site which is https://www.safepal.com/. This is the SafePal official site.

2) is it safe to buy it on Amazon store if I want?
Check the above link, if you are close to a reseller in a way you can buy it directly and not ordering it online, it would be better. Just for privacy reason.

It says that it keeps coins safe 100% offline < that's where I'm lost, to store coins on the wallet could work just like paper wallet, accepted, but what about if I want to send the coin out to an exchange for example? Will it still work offline?
SafePal has a mobile software for making unsigned transaction, sending it to SafePal hardware wallet for signing. After it is signed, it would be sent back to the software wallet to be broadcasted. Just like hosseinimr93 commented, the transaction is only broadcasted online (on the SafePal software on a mobile phone), but signed offline on the hardware wallet.
Really? Too bad mehn 🤦🏼‍♂️ I don't know it's closed source but which one is close to the look of safepal with shape? Ledger Nano X is the most rated of them all but I guess it's also closed source since it's not on your list, this sucks, what about Ellipal Titan? It looks more like a phone it will be easier to access but I don't know if it's closed source.

1589  Other / Beginners & Help / I want to know more about Safepal before buying on: October 02, 2022, 10:50:17 AM
Happy Sunday Famz, someone on here advice me to go for safe pal hardware wallet and after checking it out I've grown to like it more than few others but still I have questions that seeks your attentions.

1) Is https://safepal.com the original or official website for this hardware wallet? That's what I found online.

2) is it safe to buy it on Amazon store if I want?

3) Look the picture I get from safepal.com website below

1590  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can multi wallet address happen on hardware wallets on: October 02, 2022, 10:43:05 AM
Thanks for the info  Grin Grin I will probably order for one this week but I haven't come up with the best yet, which one are you guys using presently? @ Solosanz and @OmegaStarScream.
You can try SafePal S1 its affordable and trusted and it support about 20 blockchain community and supports more than 10,000 cryptocurrencies and NFT tokens. The hardware wallet is currently available @ approximately 40$ with 1years guarantee.
I've just looked this wallet out and I kinda like it, I do have some questions too but maybe I will create another topic for that since this is about multi address on single hardware wallet.
1591  Other / Beginners & Help / Paper can easily get ruined, fast. on: October 01, 2022, 06:27:24 PM
There is no paper wallet or books that are water resistance or fire resistance, how are you protecting yourself from natural disasters that can affect your recovery seed when you wrote it down in a book, big note or paper...

1593  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Can multi wallet address happen on hardware wallets on: October 01, 2022, 03:20:53 PM
Thanks to this topic I am now able to know the difference between a open source wallet and a closed source wallet, if anyone wants to check it out they can, good for newbie like me

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288971.msg55583288#msg55583288

I still have a question though, I am using metamask on my phone and I can create two Ethereum wallets in this one wallet but with different name, wallet 1 and wallet 2, question is can the same happen on a hardware wallet?
1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Optimism token! on: September 29, 2022, 06:27:51 PM
Given that layer2 is booming and optimism is on top of the notch theres a possibility that they can do more in the future. More layer2 will be sprout the market and surely defi projects will have a piece of the pie. More or less that would be good on overall market. Ive never got any op tokens but maybe if it go down I'll acquire some.
Arbitrum and Metis looks better than this Optimism, I have seen it's comparison online before.
1595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull Run and Bear Market on: September 29, 2022, 05:14:39 PM
Right now I don't wish for a bull market because it's way too early, we haven't even seen the final capitulation yet so I am hoping for an aggressive fall more than a bull market, I hope we see 10k BTC again so I can make use of the opportunity.
1596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon RX 7000 on: September 29, 2022, 04:51:47 PM
RX 7000? It doesn't matter anymore because mining is not profitable and those new graphic cards won't be cheap, even with free power your returns won't be encouraging.
1597  Other / Beginners & Help / Question about wallet seed in numbers on: September 29, 2022, 09:53:45 AM
There are a few numbers of crypto wallets today, from Trust wallet to Math wallet and atomic but I want to ask why some wallets have 12 words recovery seed and some have 14 and more?

Also is higher the number the better with security? I read somewhere that if you can get 6 out of 12 recovery seed you may be able to get the rest, is this true? I just want to know how far wallet security can go.
1598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Borrowing money to invest in BTC ( My own past experience) on: September 26, 2022, 05:26:30 PM
Looks like you invested in a good time, 2017 was a good year for crypto that's why you are able to make gains in a few months, would you dare borrow money in this bear market to invest in crypto?

1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 26, 2022, 05:18:36 PM
I am starting to have this crazy interest in crypto gambling projects like online casinos and stuff but I want to ask, this utility have been around for years but is there any old project that live this long and still functions?

Also what are the things that kills such project because even one or two survived for long I don't see many alive till now, they fail easily or turn scam later.
1600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 26, 2022, 05:06:05 PM
For newbies is a copied whitepaper still a red flag for projects? I heard they don't matter much anymore because big projects do the same thing too, if two projects have the same goals or utility one can copy the other, change some few words here and there?

What advice can you give me based on this? Is it right to say, yo any project that has a whitepaper that looks like another project is a scam or  bad for investment.
