1581  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: September 13, 2016, 03:56:47 PM
If I had 21 btc I would take out half and put in in gold, then leave 10 btc on my btc wallet to grow and for the remaining 1 btc I would trade with. 1 btc is enough to make alot of profit trading.
If you only trade with 1btc then also you cant lose all your money so its a safe thing. You'll get passive money from your bitcoin wallet and your money in gold.

Yeah its always good to put some money in gold as we know that gold will never disappoint us in future and 1 btc is really good amount to start trading as you can make descent profits with that capital.

Gold is too boring, you will never get rich from holding gold. Now, holding 21 BTC can make you very rich within your lifetime, it's definitely worth the try. Not to mention gold can be easily counterfeited by authorities.
1582  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where u use bitcoins? on: September 13, 2016, 03:38:38 PM
The website purse.io is a fantastic way to spend your Bitcoins. You actually have a great incentive to do so, since you are getting a ton of a discount. We need more like purse.io, because if people don't see a clear incentive to use Bitcoin, they will not use it. Eventually they will once government removes physical money, but I mean in the meantime.
1583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1mb is too big on: September 13, 2016, 03:07:14 PM
You'd be surprised how many people would be mislead by jokes like these and end up thinking that 'high' or 'unlimited' block sizes are a true possibility. The primary result of those is the lack of knowledge, or false knowledge. I do have to admit that the image has a bit of humor to it.

"640 kB ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates ... and look at us now.  Roll Eyes
I'd call false analogy on that one though.

The blocksize is too big if it does not allow for users to run their own nodes in a decent computer. It's as simple as that.
It's not as simple as that. What does "not being allowed" to run nodes on a decent computer mean? I've seen a lot of people throw around words without actually backing them up with specifics. Does this imply a lack of storage space, an inadequate internet connection/bandwidth, not being able to validate on time? I do recall a presentation where the potential of 'never being able to catch up' as a new node as presented (I think this was Hong Kong Scaling 2015).

Just common sense. When the computer is struggling to run the node then it's not viable. If you are not able to work with your computer while you have your core wallet opened, then it's not viable since you would need a secondary computer.
1584  Other / Archival / Re: Do you have paypal account even though you have bitcoin? on: September 13, 2016, 03:05:37 PM
I never use paypal but I own an account. If I have to pay with fiat I use bank transfer or VISA or whatever, even tho I actually own a paypal account and in most shops its used as a gateway but I have never deposited or received money in the actual paypal account.
1585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe the future of Bitcoin is in Loyalty points. on: September 13, 2016, 02:21:09 PM
The future of bitcoin is being accepted by people as governments get rid of physical cash. Then people will be forced to learn and use bitcoins and those who don't, will be trapped with the official cryptocoin of the new world order, so the sooner you are into bitcoin the better. Just wait and see, people will have to use bitcoin like it or not, if they care about financial freedom.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1mb is too big on: September 12, 2016, 07:17:32 PM
"640 kB ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates ... and look at us now.  Roll Eyes ... Bitcoin allow for scaling, but you should not run into it with

closed eyes, hoping you not going to kill yourself. This experiment needs cautious people with open minds... putting investors interest first. I

would like to see bigger blocks, but not at the expense of the whole experiment.  Roll Eyes

LOL, bitcoin block size can't be estimated, maybe in 2050, bitcoin block is 100MB, who knows? At that time, there will be over 10 M or even 100M people use bitocin, the population will be 10 B.

It can be estimated. The blocksize is too big if it does not allow for users to run their own nodes in a decent computer. It's as simple as that. If the node cannot be run on single computers but on specialized computers/farms, its over. Right now 1mb is a sweet spot where it allows for it to be run on single computers.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 12, 2016, 07:07:07 PM
What about the boring fight of Werdum and Browne? Man I almost fall asleep wIting for someone to get knock out or tap out. Werdum opens round 1 with a flying kick hitting Brown in the face. Browne avoids to go down with Werdum. You can hear the crowd shouting boos in all 3 rounds. Browne doesnt look like he is prepared for this fight as he only wants to stand up and slug it out with Werdum.

I thought it was pretty exciting. Sure the last rounds were a bit boring, but so were the last rounds of the Connor McGregor vs Nate Dias fight, why? well simple, most fighters start to gas out at the last rounds, specially if you are a heavyweight that starts out with flying kicks and shit, also the other guy had a busted finger (the fight should have been stopped). it was an unfortunate fight.
1588  Other / Meta / How about a sticky post in the speculation section warning about the bots? on: September 12, 2016, 07:04:32 PM
You know, all those bots with the generic nicknames like KG52Hfj3 or something, which posts all those generic FUD threads that are always the same.
If there is a sticky warning about those bots, people will hopefully stop replying and reporting them instead.
1589  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 100.000 to 1 million is a possibility in 2035 on: September 12, 2016, 06:55:51 PM
It will be way faster than anyone can expect, in 10 years we will see people killing themselves and jumping in front of trains once BTC is above 100k per dollars after they realize the big mistake that they did by not buying 10 years earlier.
1590  Economy / Speculation / Re: wtf is happening? btc drop on: September 12, 2016, 05:29:44 PM
Fear runs high in the bitcoin world. There are tons of morons that don't understand bitcoin is going to be huge in the long term and short term price doesn't matter, so any price swings will trigger big sells and buys, but the overall trend is still uptrend and it's only getting better.
1591  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ? on: September 12, 2016, 05:15:29 PM
There are plenty of projects that could have given you x10 gains in the last 9 months. Synereo to mention one, could have made you go x1000. Monero x10 as just recently we saw 100% gains.
1592  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is Bitcoins going to die? on: September 12, 2016, 04:57:01 PM
Well, obviously we are believers and don't think that bitcoin will ever die.
But, who can know the future, what may happen in next 50, 100, 500, 1 000 years?
It's very possible that someone will find better, more advance technology in the future which will replace Bitcoin.
Still remember Nokia, or Netscape?
Technology changing very quickly so we don't know what can happen in the future with Bitcoin.

Sill remember tcp/ip? Yes you do. Same will be for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a protocol, not some software or phone. Protocols can adapt and keep evolving. Bitcoin will live a longer life than all of us combined.
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FACT CHECK: Bitcoin Blockchain will be 700GB in 4 Years on: September 12, 2016, 04:30:36 PM
That is why core devs don't want to raise the block size, it is a very risky thing to do. I know a block size increase will come but not for now. Also we will eventually have a way to prune the blockchain and not need to download the whole blockchain the first time, or I hope so.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 204 Michael Bisping Vs Dan Henderson on: September 09, 2016, 01:11:47 PM
Dan Henderson should win. Michael Bisping has a lot of experience and he is robust and thought guy, and has won top fighters like Anderson Silva, but Silva is out of his prime already. I think Dan Henderson is a tier above this guy as a fighter.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling is Fun? on: September 09, 2016, 01:09:10 PM
You keep coming back because the adrenaline rush of gambling with your money is what makes it fun. Without that adrenaline rush and high risk scenario it would not be fun, that is why playing with fake credits on casinos gets boring really fast.
1596  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The first private key collision? on: September 09, 2016, 12:58:45 PM
I was talking to my friend and he has told me that while using bitcoin core, he generated a new address and found almost 0.2 already in it. It has received two payments in 7 days that weren't made by him, one 0.004 and another one 0.01.

Has he stumbled over the first private key collision?

In that case he had luck. It only happens once in 2110 times
I don't believe it until your friend gives you some sort of proof and posts it here. The chances of this happening are for basically impossible. Yes mathematically its possible but in practice it's impossible, so post proof.

Synereo Unveils Tech Behind Its Decentralized Web

Decentralized computing startup Synereo has revealed more details about its Technology Stack, as it also prepares for another fundraising campaign.

Synereo said the Technology Stack, which is still a work in progress, is scheduled for full release in Q4 2017.

...

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/synereo-unveils-tech-behind-its-decentralized-web-1473099722

I knew all of that already and none of those details change my opinion that Synereo offers nothing. Search for my posts archive for "Synereo" for my prior analysis.

And end of 2017 for release will very likely be too late.

Well, last time I checked Synereo offered like 1000% gains since the ICO, that is enough for me. Unfortunately, I didn't invest anything since I was too much of a pussy to gamble with it. I really need to start researching the ICOs and try to figure out what has the marketing/whatever that can make it pump beyond belief.

I think there are some legit projects. What do you think about Golem?
1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: September 09, 2016, 12:43:47 PM
I still think we will see 44k again.. when? Well who knows. Maybe 1 year, in one of those crazy pumps. But who has the patience to wait for an entire year? Certainly not me, so I got out and im waiting for XMR to correct and maybe I get in there, or somewhere else. Maybe now that I got out ETC starts pumping Cheesy
1599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: September 09, 2016, 12:38:16 PM
The ongoing battle for the blockchain will keep on going for the next 10 years. Bitcoin will continue as the blockchain that remains open source and decentralized, and the banks will keep pushing their agenda for a closed source blockchain with a coin that is 100% controlled by governments.
1600  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: September 09, 2016, 12:29:51 PM
Bitcoin will remain as a way to hedge against the collapsing economic system in the first world, because we can buy everything we need with fiat already so it is cumbersome having to convert your money to btc to buy what you can already buy with fiat.

Bitcoin will explode in mainstream usage once governments remove physical cash in the next decade.
