1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I doubt we'll ever go mainstream on: December 28, 2014, 11:35:43 AM
Actually bitcoin going mainstream is already happening.
Not everyone started using computers overnight.

This process will take years. Deal with it.
1583  Economy / Speculation / Re: How can you NOT be a permabull? on: December 27, 2014, 11:52:30 PM
Most people on here have no idea what they are talking about because they have no historical perspective. For example they were not around when the price went from $266 to $50 in April 2013.
1584  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoin? The maintained list of verified free Bitcoin Sites. on: December 26, 2014, 02:21:05 PM
List is huge I checked some of them. Which sites have the best rewards? Most seem not to be worth it.
Did anyone on here collect a lot of bitcoin in such way?
1585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shrem to jail for two years!!! Holy shit! on: December 25, 2014, 10:48:04 PM
If tomorrow I'm buying drugs with bitcoins I've bought today through an exchange, will the manager of that exchange company go to jail because he sold me the bitcoins I needed, providing me help in completing an illegal drug transaction?
If the exchange is compliant with all rules for financial institutions there is no problem on their part.
I guess Shrem's business was not compliant since he ended up in jail.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Safety question - using same wallet on phone and pc on: December 25, 2014, 09:34:53 PM
Hi! I installed the Bitcoin Wallet for Android today. Nice app, thanks!

For convenience I feel like using the wallet from my laptop also on my phone.
I put the encrypted MultiBit backup on my device and set a PIN for spending coins within the app.

By storing this wallet on two separate devices my coins in this wallet are less prone to hardware failure, right?
and
If my phone gets stolen will my coins be safe if I use MultiBit on my laptop to transfer my coins to a new address as soon as possible?

Who is 31 people which has more than 100 Bitcoin? I want to know all of them  Grin Grin Grin Grin. I have a small quantity of bitcoin, but I working very hard to reach a great result by the end of next year. However, with price raising we will see a more difficult for accumulate bitcoin..

Its just people claiming to have more than 100 Coins. Probably not true.
Legit owner of more than 100 BTC here.

Bought my first coins, Litecoins, in Nov '13 for 7$ and 13$. Sold them for $41.
Got really lucky there since I basically had no idea what I was doing.

Then bought Bitcoins with my profit. Been an emotional roller coaster since. Holding strong though.
1590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Bitcoin Markets Didn’t Rally on the Microsoft News on: December 15, 2014, 05:31:20 AM
OP logic is flawed since the bitcoins that are sold need to be bought first.

What will happen:
More people get to learn about bitcoin and possibly an increase in volume and market cap, which is something good!

Also, people can no longer see bitcoin as a scam these days since the most legitimate businesses in the world are starting to support the bitcoin technology.

This is all good.

From speculative purposes all I can say is people on here seem to make the worst decisions. Better quit trading and investing if you have no idea what you are doing.

Interested investor here! How much was this coins ico?

roughly 960BTC at 5800 satoshi
Alright thanks! Bought some between 3300 - 3500. I'm investing more soon waiting for good prices. Smiley
Feel like this coin project is undervalued at this time.

1593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Halcyon - x15 POS - MintPal Cryptsy Bittrex - HAL Store on: November 07, 2014, 02:01:31 AM
I dumped more than 150000 HAL into this wall the day before yesterday. Lost like 20 bitcoin on that trade.
Made 10 bitcoin on this coin before so still big loss. Best of luck to whoever is holding, I'm out.

I doubt that selling at 1500 sat. was very smart. How much did you pull out of this trade? Something like 2 BTC for nearly 10% of the coin supply.

2 BTC's better than 0.5
Market cap's still ~5500$ when recently dead coins proved scam can go all the way down to 1500$ without any hope to recover higher than maybe 3k$. Also, nobody is pumping dead coins right now seeing how bearish BTC is.
So he was right to stop loss now instead of 2 weeks from now when 1 HAL could be worth less than 500 sat.

You can of course gamble on getting news from the dev, it's still possible, even if more and more unlikely as time passes without a single post from him.

I managed to pull out like 2,4 btc indeed. And I agree with above post. It explains my feelings about this coin completely.

Got in UTIL at 6k and got out at 7k weeks ago.
Was actually checking this topic because of low price but after combining all the pieces I'm definitely not buying this shit ever again.

Also, I would exit before all buy support disappears. Last ones to sell will lose most!

1599  Economy / Economics / Re: Attitude toward daily Bitcoin price on: October 30, 2014, 06:27:42 AM
April 2013: Bitcoin price went from $260 per coin to just $45 per coin.
November 2013: Price reached $1200 per coin...

It might feel counter intuitive to invest in today's descending bitcoin market but from a speculative viewpoint it is an opportunity actually. Average Joe will likely not see this.
1600  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to create an exchange like crypsy or bittrex? on: October 30, 2014, 05:53:39 AM
I would advise against beginning an exchange without prior knowledge and education. If things don't work out it will become a disaster. We have seen it happen before, more than once...
