gldcoin is now at 0.00002000/btc, it has doubled in 24 hours ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I think it is still around half that price ( I hope so, because I want to buy more at 0.00001 or less) but yes, it has risen substantially in 24 hours. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Ft0b1Jxr.png&t=664&c=1BilzR0en7OyAw)

Suggestion - offer 16 and 64 packs of chips?
Right now to populate one of the upcoming 64 chip boards I'd pretty much have to order 50 + 5 + 5 + 5 and throw one away.
Edit: blimey that's spooky, I'm in Solihull. *wave*.
Any chance you can do some recon for us and check out the operation?

Just FYI. The good Professor was also on the BBC the other day: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=210828.0. Hopefully he will become a media staple and friend of the coin. I'd be curious to know his opinion on Ripple and Open Transactions etc. Re: "...they need to do a bit of a charm offensive with the regulators and make them comfortable with it while being true to their principles.” I always preferred the bitcoin slogan that someone suggested on the forum a while back: "You fucked up. Thank you. We'll take it from here."+1

The post title should start with the date the article was published in the format 2013-05-21 to conform to the press section's guidelines. Its part of globalisation. If they cant make one currency, then we will do it.
I thought the same thing. I know certain sections of society oppose all forms of globalization, but personally, I think they are confusing global tyranny with globalization in general, which also includes global liberty. I am rooting for the global liberty side of things. Why shouldn't I want my fellow human to have the same freedoms that I have and work continually to expand those freedoms. I certainly haven't found a valid reason. updated for posting rules

Who is your ASIC supplier?
BFL - Butterfly Labs (6 Thash confirmed) . Avalon (custom assembly of 2 Thash initially confirmed). In the process of adding a third supplier (8.7 Thash) For all of those that have sent them money, please do some research into their vendors/suppliers.

Lol guys, no need to fight younger people read this thread too, shouldn't be talking like that. Some people hate goldcoin and that's ok, some people hate bitcoin, some people hate litecoin. Rather than focusing on insulting those who hate the coin, let us focus on taking people who are on the fence about goldcoin or just getting starting to the world of crypto-currencies and recruit them. There are reasons not to like goldcoin and there are reasons to like it. I personally support it, but I don't go hating on people who don't. I don't support other cryto-currencies and I don't want people who support them to go hating on me.
To further this idea from BitshireHashaway, For those of us that are just getting started, mining a new coin whether it pans out or not is not the point, it is the thrill of getting something/anything accomplished. The thrill of seeing that little window pop up announcing an inbound transaction can't be beat. Sure bitcoin is THE place to be in economical terms and actual ROI but the emotional return on a new coin that sends you 10,15,20,100 coins every few minutes for a newbie is nothing short of miraculous and will help grow our budding eco-system beyond what we can fathom.

There's been another big spike in searches, just look at that: http://stats.grok.se/zh/latest90/%E6%AF%94%E7%89%B9%E5%B8%812x the previous all-time high! Something has happened today (Monday 20th). Anyone know what? (Baidu and Google stats aren't available yet. Sourceforge downloads show an increase, but not as much as Wikipedia.) Nice find, it looks like we are in for a huge demand spike, will be nice if it happens
