15801  Other / Meta / Re: How to know the account has been banned in the past ? on: April 11, 2015, 04:48:50 AM
Hi everyone,

I bought a Full Member account 10 days ago. But I do not know if that account has been banned in the past or not ?

Because I heard reputed members here said the account had been banned in the past then it is easy to be banned permanently .

So I want to ask you is :

Is there a way to know the account has been banned in the past or not , and how to handle in case it was banned ?

Sincerely thanks !

To be able to at least get a hint of whether the account was banned in the past or not, look at the post history. Usually, a ban that was caused by a spam tend to last for 14 days. If a user doesn't made any posts within that time-frame, you can at least infer that the account was banned. Well it isn't a surefire way to know what you're looking for, but that's just the idea that I have in mind that I think would be a possible way of determining whether the account was banned before or not. You need to sift pages by pages for you to get some information. It's better to be sure before buying an account. 10 minutes would probably be enough to find those because you're only finding for a "gap" in which the user hasn't posted for a period of time.
15802  Economy / Economics / Re: mining & electricity on: April 11, 2015, 04:13:56 AM
I wasn't surprised by the news at all. Only paid once and never paid the company again. I wonder how much money did Josh got from doing this, because if it isn't a lot, he would probably continue the mining operations with hopes of getting more money. Well, after all it did happen. Pity to those who got scammed by this man. They've been GAWed. Sad
15803  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: where you get bitcoin every day? on: April 11, 2015, 03:57:27 AM
If you're asking for passive income everyday, then I'll tell you that there is no such thing like that, unless you're a really good trader or you have a solid referral under you that's always active (referring to faucets). Given that you are already a Full Member, why not join a signature campaign and start posting? Well be reminded that posting means you should create constructive posts, not those that-will-do-it posts just to boost your post count and get a high payment. Doing so may result to a ban--which I think you wouldn't like. Also, try offering a service that you excel with and ask for BTC in return.
15804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8,400 bitcoin on: April 11, 2015, 03:33:05 AM
Sometimes, I hate BTC. It's awful that each time there's a big transaction, there's someone to report it. What about the right to privacy?

You can't blame bitcoiners on noticing and reporting big transactions that are happening within the network, because it may either affect the price e.g. someone dumped x amount of coins or someone bought x amount of coins. Also, big transactions can sometimes indicate a big player entering the ecosystem. If you're worried about other people's privacy, then maybe you're forgetting that there aren't any personal details attached to a bitcoin address. The anonymity feature of bitcoin does that.
15805  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Halving: Could It Actually Kill BTC? on: April 10, 2015, 08:38:23 PM
I was just thinking this morning, about the reward halving upcoming sometime 2016. Most ppl here are pretty assured that when the halving happens it will guarantee that BTC will increase in value. There have been plenty of guarantees over the last year or so and none have panned out so far. If BTC remains at its current performance level, wouldn't the halving merely drive any miners operating at a thin margin out, make mining not profitable enough for new miners to get in the game and basically slow the network? I understand supply and demand, but demand drives that, not necessarily supply. If no one wants a 200$ btc, it doesn't matter how many there are or how hard they are to mine?

just a shower thought, what's your take? and please, limit your "BTC CAN NEVAR DIE and you sir are a cock!" statements to provable truths, not opinionated speculation please. BTC could die and very well might. I hope not, but that isn't the point of this thread.

What do you think will really happen when the halving comes? anyone thought through any scenarios?

Keep also in mind that companies have invested tons of their resources solely for mining bitcoin. It may be true that the miners that do not have the specialized hardware to profit will leave the mining scene, but still we can't deny the fact that the majority of the hashing power of the bitcoin network are distributed to large mining companies. Also, there had been a lot of money that has been invested in btc lately. This might reflect in the future, making bitcoins a valued asset by many people and large companies as well. With it, mining could be profitable--at least for those who have the equipment. Bitcoin would sure end if all the miners shut down their hardware, but I highly doubt that it is possible, as there are still people who sees mining as a profitable business.
15806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Born + PICS] Wife is pregnant, how to incorporate bitcoin into the process? on: April 10, 2015, 01:25:20 PM
That baby is so cute! Congratulations to you and to your wife for having a baby that's so cute and healthy (from what I'm seeing). Anyway, you've been asking for suggestions on how to incorporate bitcoins together with the birth of your child. You should think first of her health, and her future as well. You should start putting in some bitcoins in a paper wallet that is laminated and kept in a safe and when she turns to legal age--or even when an emergency occurs (I hope there wouldn't be any)--you can give her the funds that you stored for long and maybe by that time comes, bitcoin is widely-accepted all throughout the world. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Again, congratulations! Wink
15807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if YOU could put 1 feature, change, whatever, into the Bitcoin protocol? on: April 10, 2015, 08:44:46 AM
I would like to find a way to remove anonymity. It attracts scammers and ponzi pumpers and brings nothing to honest people. If are not a criminal, what do you hide from?

Wouldn't that be against the feature concepts of bitcoin? Identity and credentials are a very vital part of ones' life--particularly people who are surfing in the internet. It can cause security implications if ever your personal information leaked in the interwebs.
15808  Economy / Speculation / Re: The market is really going sideways...? on: April 10, 2015, 08:12:22 AM
It can still go lower. But it really looks like 235$ is a level where strong support line is. Lack of volatility is odd... we are in 235$-270$ range for 20 days now. Bitcoin finaly stable?  Smiley

I think not, it's just that the support is strong but not strong enough to push the price upward. No one in the right mind who bought their coins for <$250 will sell at a loss. Also, from what I view it, hesitant investors think that the price could even go low to sub-$200 before considering to enter.

Bitcoin seems to be undervalued at its current prices. Considering that a lot of money and attention has been pouring lately, $350-$450 is quite reasonable. But I guess the markets is that complicated to understand, that's why one could only speculate what would happen in the future.
15809  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [BIT-X] Signature Campaign - Discussion on: April 10, 2015, 08:04:21 AM

In case you are really reading the forum rules and guidelines, there is actually no limit on how many you can post per day. As long as it is on-topic and is constructive, it will likely stay. However, most post tend to be off-topic and spammy, sometimes in the intention of boosting posts for signature campaign members. It is fine to post a hundred or even a thousand per day, as long as it is, well, constructive and helping the discussion.

the problem is that some of his post are not included in one post, there are case, were he posted 3 posts in a row, that is spam to me, it doesn't matter if those posts are constructive or on topic in this case

if that is allowed, i can do the same thing easily

He is a Indian, he is probably need this money.

Yes, most of his posts are constructive, but 100 posts a day seems to much for ordinary people, you can eat 10 hamburgers in one day, but you definitely couldn't eat 100 hamburgers in one day, this is same to this forum, Also, this forum didn't have that much topics that make you able to make 100 constructive posts in one day. 100 posts in one day, that means a you need to turn the whole forum topsy-turning.

Anyway, he didn't broke the rule even he makes so much posts in a day, that's most people can't be able to do.

I don't think his nationality has something to do with his needs for money. Huh

I agree that posting consecutive replies in one topic is another way to boost one's post count--especially if you are enrolled in a signature campaign. But sometimes, this is done for the convenience of other users/readers of this forum. Though you can actually cut out some important points that you want to reply to, still cutting out all those important points and replying to it in just one single comment is too hard to do--and too hard to read as well. The point and the idea in the topic might be messed up because of other topics under it is also included in one single reply.
15810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you mine it or buy it? on: April 10, 2015, 07:48:49 AM
I'd like to ask the users here about how you got started in bitcoins and how you acquire bitcoins.

So the two questions are:

1. When you started, did you MINE or did you BUY bitcons?

2. If you are a regular user of bitcoins currently, do you MINE or do you BUY bitcoins?

To start off the discussion, I can only answer question 1. I mined bitcoins when I started. Then I bought and sold bitcoins through an exchange.
I cannot answer question 2 because I'm no longer a regular user of bitcions.

To be honest, I started off my ventures in this world by means of receiving payouts from freebitco.in (if anyone still remembers it). When I first received the coins in my wallet, I was so hyped that I planned on buying it, and so my journey continued. I bought some coins way back February of 2014. It was not much, but i still managed to do something about it, especially the pump of a coin they called Blackcoin. That was the first successful trade I executed in my whole life. It multiplied my holdings to some extent that I can manage to buy a new cheap laptop back in the days. I never mined because I don't have the means to do so, but I tried cloudmining ni cex.io and just got some little profit, not from mining but from trading ghs in their platform.
15811  Other / Meta / Re: Why are there time limits for posting here? on: April 10, 2015, 07:30:02 AM
Hey guys, when I tried to make another posts after a minute of my previous post, it says "The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established."

Why is it so? Are newbies not allowed to make posts frequently?

I forgot to mention that even in higher ranks, posting limits are still present. I once tried to write down all my replies in different topics before posting them. Once I managed to edit all the points that I want to stress on, I wouldn't submit it yet, not until all of the other replies I am writing is finished. Well I did that for an experiment, seeing if I can submit post simultaneously within 10 seconds. And yes, a warning appeared, and it says: "The las posting from your IP was less than 8 seconds ago. Please try again later..." similar to what you have witnessed. There are posting limits for every rank, I guess. Not sure if the same thing exists on higher ranks because I'm not in the same rank as them.

Lowest limit is 4 seconds after 500 activity. Its barely noticable. I only notice it when I prewrite something e.g. due to a bad network connection. This also applies to reports btw.

So you mean the limits are still activity-based and not rank-based? I'm still uncertain as to how these limits are implemented on different ranks/activites. The warning I got when I tried to post 4 replies simultaneously is 8 seconds. Are there any threads that states this limits?

EDIT: Found what I was looking for. Posting it here just for other users' reference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.msg4131557#msg4131557

How to save money.  Let me think.  Maybe don't spend it?  Fucking retard

The amount of non-english speaking retards on this forum makes me sick

Learn how to speak and write english properly before you post you fucking faggot

Instead of hurling insults to non-native English speakers, you should at least try to understand them on what they are trying to say. OP actually has some good points on saving money, but it isn't that much clearly defined because of grammatical errors and different typographical errors as well. If you don't want  to read posts like this, why in the first place would you bother clicking the topic and read it if it's making you sick? This reply has gone way too off-topic.

Just my two cents.

15814  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Cloud Services legit? on: April 09, 2015, 08:34:45 PM
There are a bunch of posters on this site who call this company and that company ponzis.  They may be right and they may be wrong.  I am very new to all this.  Bitcoin Cloud Services is the first company that I invested with.  I based my investment on reviews.  (99% positive on this site)
So I purchased 1THS on February 8, 2015.  I have received my payment everyday since.  The time varies between 19:00 and 24:00 EST every day.
My payout comes directly to my personal Bitcoin Wallet.  ie....My payouts are not stored on a wallet on their site.  It seems to me that if they were a ponzi, they would want to keep all Bitcoins possible on their site so they would make a better haul when they walk away.  I have some experience with ponzis, I used to play HYIP's back in the day.  One poster here called them a very well run Ponzi.  Maybe, but you couldn't prove it by me.  Check the Bitcoin mining calculator at www.Allsocomp.com to see what you will receive daily based on your hashrate.  The amount that I receive daily mirrors the calculator.  When I first signed up, I would anxiously await payment until it arrived....and, arrive it did and does.  They had their first birthday last week.  All of these naysayers could have made a bunch of money by now. I hope this clears up some questions.  Read the reviews on the site, I could have written them all because they all reflect my experience with this company.  Here is my affiliate link if you are interested.
https://www.bitcoincloudservices.com/?ref=4163

Good luck...Morebit

Can you provide us with some solid evidences that you really profited from them? Also, a ponzi scheme can run for years if they are getting some serious money from it. Can you provide us details with what hardware are they using? Or even pics of the actual hardware will do. If they really are a true cloud-mining service, they would care to show the hardware that they are using for their potential investors to see. Oh, 1THS, you say? Transaction ID can help us prove that what you're saying here is true. Transaction IDs can help us verify that your claims regarding the "everyday payment" of this service is also true.

Last but not the least, posting referral links are prohibited, in case you bothered to read the forum rules and regulations.

Good luck with you and your "1 THS" investment.
15815  Other / Meta / Re: Please tell me why my account banned ! on: April 09, 2015, 08:23:39 PM

No. Special privileges for higher ranks do not exist in this forum. Everyone in this forum can be banned with the same grounds. You can point a finger on users who posts 100 times a week (or in some cases, a hundred posts per day) but if you read thoroughly in their post history, you will see that most of it were constructive--a reason why they aren't banned even though they posted a high number of posts. To be able to avoid being banned, you must not spam just to boost your post count (especially those in the signature campaigns, including me).

Yes, Sincere thanks for your advice ! Now, I understood a bit about this rules.

It is true that users who posts 100 times per week is only can point a finger on.

I will try my best to avoid spam posts

You should. If you look through the post history of users who are currently enrolled in a signature campaign, you will notice that some of them even managed to post 100 or more in just a single day. The reason they aren't banned? Their posts are constructive enough to help the discussion progress with more meaning into it. Just avoid the temptation of posting too much and sacrificing the quality just to be paid more. The consequences are greater rather than the privileges of doing it,
15816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate? on: April 09, 2015, 08:20:23 PM
This is a wellknown story:

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all"

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed".

http://www.psychologymatters.asia/article/65/the-story-of-the-two-wolves-managing-your-thoughts-feelings-and-actions.html

But why do we so easily succumb to feed the evil wolf? Why do we hate and feed it and react hatefull towards others?

We easily give in to the emotions of hate and anger to other people because it is in the nature of the people. Genetics? Can be a probable cause of it, but we cannot deny the fact that it is already imprinted within our genes. Also put into consideration that the actions of other people also triggers hate. If one person looks "good" to you, sure enough you won't feel any hate towards him/her. But if he/she doesn't, you might start feeling some hatred towards him/her. Sometimes, it's also a matter of how you put things into perspective; the more you incline in one side, the less you will feel towards the other.

I'm not familiar on doing that in Electrum wallet, or can I just add the date that I've done the signing of the message? Or should I do another one?

EDIT: I've just added another code with the date of when I signed this message. Thanks for your help, Muhammed Zakir. Smiley

Add that additional message you wrote in the message you signed and sign again with electrum.

For simplicity, sign this:

Dear Sir,

My account username: soowein

At the moment, it has been banned.

I really don't know the reason why my account banned ?

Please help me to better understand !

Sincerely thanks !

When you log into your account you will see a reason and a time period. If this is not your first ban you might not see a time period, this typically indicates a perma ban. The most common reason for bans is spam. I see that you had a period of 2 days where you posted >50 very short posts, I guess this is the reason.

link for the lazy -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=343958

First of all, Sincerely thanks for your help !

But this is my first ban but I did not see any time period.

And I see some of members that participant in Campaign. They can post even more than 100 posts per week without banned. I wonder if there are

any exception for them ? (most of them is full member or above)

I just have bought a account but I did not dare use it because I was afraid of being banned again. I also have read "Rules of Forum" but I think

should be clear especially for new members or members that English is not their primary language. (I am from Vietnam)

I really do not understand how called short post ? How called long post ? How called quality post ? It really is ambiguous for new members like as

me. I also saw some comments and guidance from respected members like you . They said that the need to post quality , longer than 3 lines , .. But

how long I can post more than 3 lines when participating auction ( sometime I saw they simply wrote out "@0.05" or "I bid 0.07" . That's all. )

Such postings can be called quality ? (only few words not few lines)

They are members, full member, Sr.Member,...I noticed they were not banned at all while the newbie , I banned

I really do not know what I should do with my account at this time. I bought an account "full member" but I'm not used to participate in campaign

(pay for posts) because I was afraid I would be banned . If so, as I took the money to buy that account

Honestly , so far I do not understand clearly how it is called a quality post ?

These are true words of my heart and once again I sincerely thank you !

15819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We just hit a new record of average monthly transactions per day on: April 09, 2015, 07:54:52 PM
Nearly 1 lac transactions performed in 2015 while only 60000 transactions were performed till July last year. It's a great sign that bitcoin is getting popular but is there any way to know how many people are currently using bitcoins?

Not entirely sure if there is a way to keep track on how many users are actually using bitcoins, given that there are too many addresses that has some balance on it but cannot be used because of lost private keys. However, we can still estimate as to how many bitcoin users there are in the world.

As for the chart, it is a great sign that we are still on the process of moving forward and upward. The price may not correlate with the actual transactions, but seeing that there is still an increase in the number of transactions made, we can safely say that the interest of the people in bitcoins is also increasing. Good times ahead, I say, and let those people who spread FUD be envious of what bitcoiners will have in the future.

SirLolicoin, shorena and dothebeats, thank you folks for responding to me.  Lot's changed since 2011!

Should I wait for it to catch up with the network before overwriting my wallet?  It's at 11% over the past ten hours and I'm in no hurry.  By biggest fear is corrupting a file doing an over the top install of Bitcoin Core V0.10.0 while Bitcoin-Qt is running (synchronizing with the network).  I back up nightly (Acronis > external Seagate HDD) so my .dat files are protected in there.  Or are you suggesting to just go into my C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin . . .\*.dat and stick it(them) on a thumb drive?  Where the heck are the dat files anyway, anyway?  There somewhere:  it's showing me a BTC balance.

All my Windows 7 (C:) drive is showing me inside Bitcoin named "wallet" is:

(1) wallet.cpp
(2) wallet.h
(3) walletmodel.cpp

Is my search engine flummoxed due to the age of my program?

The synchronizing of the wallet in the latest blocks are really long. But as many would say, patience is a virtue. Just wait for it to synchronize, and also, do not touch any of the files in that folder. You don't want to ruin your balances and the program that you are updating, do you? Smiley
