15881  Economy / Speculation / Re: Housing Market Inventory At Extreme Lows [Dec 2012] on: December 05, 2012, 07:44:20 PM
well if the banks are holding to artificially increase the price of homes, they will continue to do just that... so no worries there

I guess it all depends on whether or not the economy recovers.

if it recovers, then people will continue to pay their mortgages and more and more people will be buying homes, even if the interest rates rise a little.

If the economy doesn't recover, and people start to default on their homes once again, this will create deflation. If deflation happens, paying the mortgage will become increasingly difficult, making even more people default,  creating even more deflation!

if the government tries to combat deflation by printing money like crazy, that wont help because cost of living will increase, and home owners will be no better off.

so everything hangs by a thread as we wait for the economy to recover.

did i get it right? lol
15882  Economy / Speculation / Re: When in 2013 shall Bitcoin break its all-time-high of $31? on: December 05, 2012, 06:13:40 PM
The price will drop back down under $4 when people cash out to buy Christmas presents like last year.

price went up like crazy last Christmas....
15883  Economy / Speculation / Re: I forced the 10 day high last night. What do you think about that? on: December 05, 2012, 06:00:58 AM
So even though the price has been drifting higher ever since the WordPress announcement, you seem to think that your 700btc purchase is the reason it went up during the past 24 hrs?

Don't overestimate your effect on the market Wink

Don't underestimate the effect a rogue 700BTC market buy.

I believe OP 100%!

15887  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Silk Road Crash of 20** ...? on: December 05, 2012, 04:45:02 AM
You think that Europe is a safe harbour for drug buyers?
Quote
Pretty funny would be indeed to be arrested because of buying drugs on SilkRoad.
When you get busted, I m sure you will have fun.

Go and crawl back under the rock you crawled out from. I know it makes you feel like a big man to try to scare people, but no one is worried by your stupid FUD.

You're right.  It's absurd FUD to think that contacting a random person you never met on an imperfect privacy network and buying something illegal for them could ever get arrested.  Yeah, all those COPS shows are actually actors.  FBI agents actually process tax returns and all TOR nodes are owned by lovely volunteers and not companies or governments.  Oh and the SR servers exist in a quantum state where they do and don't exist and cannot ever be found.

If you think the FBI is trying to catch people buying an ounce or less of weed on TOR, click this link

at first they thought bitcoin would implode on itself, so they didn't bother, but after the rise to 7$ they took the treat more seriously, and came up with a plan to destroy bitcoin!

the "budget" is of little concern to them, they will pay wtv it cost, but they don't want to wast money.

Any sources for what your saying?

15891  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fun Conspiracy theory! on: December 05, 2012, 02:48:58 AM
Yaaaa conspiracies are fun! So how far along in this plan are they? What's the budget for buying up all the coin? Just US central banking, world banking?

Bitcoin is a threat to the very essence of banking, and so the highest levels of banking ( world banking ) are taking care of it.

at first they thought bitcoin would implode on itself, so they didn't bother, but after the rise to 7$ they took the treat more seriously, and came up with a plan to destroy bitcoin!

Central banks don't like competition, and since it can't flat out go after bitcoin ( because that would make them look like the bad guy, and wake up too many people to the reality that fiat is actually a scam and worthless) they have taken it upon themselves to destroy bitcoin from within  Shocked. they are now in the process of acquiring a large % of bitcoin which they will use to crash the market, there by destroying confidence in bitcoin.
