15901  Other / Meta / Re: Bunch of idiots/bots spamming the hell out of press board on: February 06, 2016, 04:51:17 AM
Yeah I've noticed at least one of them spamming the press section.  I'm not so irritated that I report any of these topics, and in fact I think I'm going to put the press section on ignore all together.  I never read what's posted there, so why have the feed of new topics?

The fact that they get paid for this sucks.  I have signatures turned off so I don't have a clue which ones they're running.
15902  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: February 06, 2016, 04:47:34 AM
I lived thru Blowjob Bill's presidency, though I can't say I followed his every move or anything like that.  I never trusted Hillary.  Any woman who would let her man stick his dong in a thing like Monica Lewinsky would not get my vote.  That's a marriage of much convenience and it never sat well with me.
15903  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi court sentences poet to death for renouncing Islam on: February 06, 2016, 04:44:22 AM
For fuck sake, what else is new.  I remember the big brouhaha about Salman Rushdie back in the day, and it's just this crazy part of Islam that calls for shit like this.  Oh to not have religion do this, and I'm not against Islam in particular.  It's all of them.
15904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best choice of alt coin on: February 06, 2016, 02:38:56 AM
My man, I don't know anything about mining as far as difficulty, but you ought to mine one of the better altcoins, doge or ltc if possible.  All the rest are completely useless unless you're going to slap them onto an exchange and trade them for bitcoin.  If that's your goal, go for whatever coin gives you the best bang for your buck.  And that's almost impossible to tell unfortunately.
15905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPay Appreciation Thread on: February 06, 2016, 02:35:39 AM
I will be the first to admit that I don't often spend bitcoins like cash--I've come to view cryptocurrency as a speculation tool and as a store of value.  But I did buy some precious metals from Provident last year and I do believe the transaction was processed through Bitpay.  I'm not 100% sure.  It was fairly painless, though for some reason I had to transfer btc to my Xapo wallet, because Mycelium wasn't allowing the bitcoin to be withdrawn.
15906  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think the price will rise again above $400 on: February 06, 2016, 02:30:37 AM
I've been buying and will keep buying as my horizons are pretty long-term.  Though I do hope we get above $400 sometime soon, I'd be OK if the price stagnates for a while.  Good sleepin' weather out by the bitcoin shithouse.
15907  Other / Meta / Re: How do we report scammers here? on: February 06, 2016, 01:38:23 AM
Yeah OP, as others have told you we kind of police our own neighborhood here.  It's like a neighborhood watch in a community that doesn't have a police department.  Almost like an episode of The Walking Dead.  We have a fire department and a guy who sells porn, but that's about it.  Put up your scam accusation and we have a painter that comes and slaps on a coat of red.  Tues & Thursdays on the nose.
15908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Returning to gold standard? on: February 06, 2016, 12:45:39 AM
A return to a gold standard is completely unnecessary.  Money doesn't need to be backed by anything, it never did, and it's not likely that we're going to return to that sort of archaic thinking.  I do like precious metals in spite of this and I think they're a good way to store value.
15909  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: February 05, 2016, 10:39:28 PM
OP would have to find some other outlet for trolling, but other than that the world would continue to spin on its axis and we'd survive.  Information flow would be a lot slower, that's one of the big differences between today and the pre-internet world.  It's so easy to get information about anything, and it's one of the things I love about the internet.
15910  Economy / Speculation / Re: why I bought on: February 05, 2016, 10:04:51 PM
Good deal, OP.  I bought in for many of the same reasons, plus I enjoy the roller coaster ride that is bitcoin.  I don't think we'll see economic disaster like that which has been predicted by the silver/gold hypers within our lifetimes but who knows.
15911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 05, 2016, 10:00:55 PM
I suspect you're right, but one never knows about unforseen events, does one?  And what I mean by that is that something could come along and blow bitcoin out of the water, or we could lose the need for it entirely, e.g., Armageddon.  A lot of things could happen.  But barring all that crap, yes I agree, bitcoin probably won't die within our lifetimes.  As long as there's gamblers and dark markets bitcoin will thrive.
15912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: February 05, 2016, 09:55:33 PM
It's all I hear on a good part of this forum is Etherium.  I supposed I ought to look into it, eh?  Is this supposed to be like the #2 altcoin or something?

Also, just because it's a pump and dump, doesn't mean it's a scam necessarily.  Well, it does if you've been lied to on the pump and I guess that's what usually happens right?
15913  Economy / Economics / Re: GERMANY CONSIDERS $5,450 LIMIT ON CASH TRANSACTIONS on: February 05, 2016, 08:25:34 PM
It's the end of the world,  and this is why bitcoin and the altcoins are going to be useful.  You'll see.  It's not just Germany.
15914  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: why there are very less xapo faucets ? on: February 05, 2016, 05:33:39 PM
I'm trying to find out reason why there are very few xapo faucet around us ?

xapo asks identity verification and all .. I dont think many users like and use it .. So i think there are less faucets that use xapo

Sorry but none xapo users also can claim from xapo faucet without creating a xapo account and without giving personal data .

one more thing faucet box holds minimum 13000 sats to get payout in your wallet but in other hand xapo hold only 5500 SATs and. once you reach at this limit you'll be paid automatically .

so I don't see any reason not to use xapo faucets .
I agree with this except Xapo pays to the Xapo wallet and there's no "automatic" payout.   The limit is 5500 sat after which you can withdraw to another wallet.
15915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am so glad that BTC is rallying again. on: February 05, 2016, 05:15:33 PM
Rallying?

Somebody wake me up when we power past 450, this is nothing to get excited about man.
I second this sentiment. What we're seeing now is just fluctuation, and nothing as bad as we've seen before by any means. I'll go to sleep until 450 as well, so wake us up together. Lol
15916  Other / Meta / Re: Admins---Please stop allowing users to lock threads on: February 05, 2016, 02:36:22 AM
Gift cards are obviously stolen and you didn't use escrow and you now want to disable thread locking.   Yeah, good luck.  You're going to need it.
15917  Economy / Goods / Re: very expensive phone VERTU signature -[HOT]- on: February 05, 2016, 12:36:43 AM
That phone is a piece of shit, my man.  Also:  Pics as requested or GTFO.

i have provided photo of proof!!!
You're selling a knockoff of a phone that's about 6 years out of date with no photos that prove you actually have said piece of shit phone.  I can tell you must live in an undeveloped country that wouldn't stand a chance if ww3 broke out.

to be fair.. an orig vertu sig s still sells for 9k-31k new depending on specs..

the auto maker Bently is still one of their partners so that shows you the demographic, i bet all the sheikh's in dubai have one of these in solid gold wrapped in some endangered leopard skin as a burner phone
I take your point, sir, but this is a knockoff and as such it's basically just a phone.  And this model is rapidly becoming a thing of nostalgia and is far out shined by smartphones.

And in reference to my above post, OP never posted pics with his name written on a piece of paper which would prove he is in possession of this phone.
15918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get sex workers to use bitcoin? on: February 04, 2016, 11:59:27 PM
I haven't clicked on your link for fear of clicking on links, but here's a suggestion:  Next time you use one of your local sex workers for sex, why don't you mention bitcoin to them and tell them how convenient it is.  But be sure to explain the transaction times and the upcoming hard fork just so they're well-informed about potential problems they might have.  You might want to suggest the Mycelium wallet or something for androids and that breadwallet for IOS.  I'm sure it'll be a hit with him/her.

But it's going to be tough trying to stuff some satoshis into a strippers g-string.
15919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Geopolitics and Crypto on: February 04, 2016, 11:51:12 PM
With the market cap as it stands now?  Bitcoin is tiny and there are over 200 countries in this little world we inhabit.  If bitcoin reaches a market cap that's at least an order of magnitude greater than it is now, forget about this.  But it is a good idea, sir.
15920  Economy / Lending / Re: ➤➤ DarkStar's Lending Service [COLLATERAL OPTIONAL] on: February 04, 2016, 11:43:20 PM
I'm going to give your thread a bump and also pay you a compliment:  You are bloody more organized with your loans than I've seen anyone be here.  Props to you, sir, and good luck in the lending business.
