15921  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: April 01, 2015, 03:22:41 PM
Plnt trees, buy lands, invest in something that will give small but sure gain. Don't need to take it high in the skyscraper. I am an optimist so I like to gamble big, but saving sensible or investing sensible is the right way to go.
To do all of these you first need to make some money... it all starts with having a job or some sort of monthly income where you can save a % of it monthly. If you are only paying bills you are another poor soul trapped in the system with no hope.

The sad reality is that there are plenty of poor souls all over the world that works only to pay bills and sometimes need to make a loan in order to survive. Majority of the people in the world are still enslaved by debt, and we can say that it is because of their limited control over their own money. Regulations here, authorities there, banks and financial institutions that will strangle you to death with those taxes and fees that aren't really necessary. Bitcoin stood and set forth another chance for those poor souls to at least experience a life that is comfortable and favorable, but that is until bitcoin reach the masses and see worldwide adoption.
This is right, all of their salary was paid for bills, taxes. And if theres a few money that left,  they will not save but they will buy their want and not their needs.

You can easily agree on my point because well, as we know it, we live in the same country. The situations I've stated above is very evident in our place. Corruption and greediness of the authorities adds up to the already heavy burden of my poor countrymen. Add those financial institutions and banks that offer loans with an insane amount of interest rates? I don't know if you can still survive that mess.

These ASICs are way too old to be useful today. Just buy some Bitcoins, it's a much better investment!
but i want to make profit
how am i making profit by buying bitcoins ?

You can make some good profit by just simply holding those coins and wait for the value to rise. One of the safest methods of growing your money. With those ASICs, I don't think you will see even a slightest bit of ROI. Take the difficulty rises, the energy consumption, and the hashrate of your miners. The current mining scheme is only suitable for those who have enough $$$ to build a mining farm and collect some good profits. Those mining farms are also well-designed so as to maximize their profit and not suffer loss.

1. Buy bitcoins.
2. HODL.
3. Huh
4. Profit.
15923  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and macroeconomics: what influences BTC price on: April 01, 2015, 01:22:30 PM
the reason is simple, whales playing with the market

this is why adoption is needed, having few people with 10k coins each , can only lead to volatility and manipulation

And they're definitely enjoying the game they made all by themselves. Put in a large amount of new players (or adopters), even the small fishes, then definitely this whales will feel to weak against several schools roaming around their once controlled ecosystem.
15924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a way to earn 50$ in a month from faucets ? on: April 01, 2015, 01:14:59 PM
I'm just asking if there are people who earn 50$ in a month from faucets ?
If it's possible how ?

Thanks

Possible. If you have a good referral chain under you, then you can easily get $50 (or even more if you hold several faucets with also good referral chains) each month. The key here is you need to be good at advertising and endorsing. You can passively earn a decent amount of btc with those referral links. Smiley
15925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future looking bright. Going back up. on: April 01, 2015, 01:09:52 PM
Very interesting. I didn't expect this bounce so quickly
$250 already and going strong!..

Nah. I'm looking at the charts and it gave me a reading of $242. But hopefully we might as well see a rapid bounce up beyond (hopefully) $300. The last one was pretty good, though it doesn't last long. Anyway, happy April Fools. Smiley
15926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Decline To Support on: April 01, 2015, 01:00:36 PM
where you see this decline? it's been at 230 since january, sry but this is a bullshit claim

270 last week was nothing more then a trap, you could talk about decline when we return on sub 200

Even though we are facing a decline, I still doubt if we will see sub 200 prices in the coming months. Support still holding on though, bottom could be something about $220-$230, but sub-200 is just way low.
15927  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 12:57:22 PM
Haha what a great April Fools prank. I'm hoping that custom avatars stick after today too, I really like mine and must have just missed the window when I signed up to when avatars were disabled.

It will most likely stick around, but the avatars are randomized, so you can't really choose what you want to as an avatar as another user will view you differently as you can see for yourself.  Grin

If you especially dislike the avatar you were given, uploading a new avatar (or reuploading your current one) will give you a random new one. If anyone has any ideas for more "fool" avatars to add, post them here and I might add them later today.

The avatar feature will work properly after April 1.
15928  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 12:43:56 PM
Let's see what would happen when the clock come to April 2rd(UTC).

Cool! This proves a point that bitcoin users aren't really that serious as to what other people view us all along. We tend to be funny sometimes, to the extent that we end up fooling ourselves. Cheesy Happy April Fools! Cheesy
15929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin reveals Satoshi's been secretly working on BTC 2.0 on: April 01, 2015, 12:40:03 PM
Wow. I wish if only this turns out to be true. It sounds too good to be real and I mean to have Satoshi still around developing bitcoin means everything to the community. But anyway, nice April Fool's prank. It almost caught me as well.

What if I tell you, Satoshi still hangs around the forum with a different style of communicating and with a different forum account name as well? Wouldn't it be nice to have him/her all along discussing with us and reaching out with the community and at the same time remains anonymous to us all throughout this time? The perfect plan for staying anonymous: blend with each and everyone of us. Cheesy Cheesy

This is what theymos looks like to me:

No avatar at all. :3
15931  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 12:32:45 PM
Did you really upload a QR code or is it something different apart from what am I seeing right now? I see some doge memes and avatars here right now.  Grin  Grin  Grin
That's because you don't read topic before posting.

I read the topic, from page 1 to 5, before posting. Just my 2 cents.
15932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin reveals Satoshi's been secretly working on BTC 2.0 on: April 01, 2015, 12:25:35 PM
at first i was starting believing in it, it sound reasonable even so the name of this new bitcoin it's kinda stupid and sounds like a one of many altcoin scam out there

then i remembered that today is april 1...everything was explained after this

Everything is self-explanatory after all  Grin It's just that we tend to forget what day it is right now.

Code:
April 1st. APRIL FOOLS!
15933  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 12:23:47 PM

I'm sure we'll get them soon enough, though you can disable avatars like signatures (though it probably won't stop people from complaining). I was wondering how long it would be before sig campaigns capitalise on this or people start renting/selling them individually:

I don't want to sell my avatar else people will start ignoring my PMs as well  Cheesy I won't be able to even sell my gift cards or exchange money due to that. Selling my signature space is enough  Smiley

BTW, did Theymos actually play a prank? I don't like this man in my avatar. He looks awful  Cry Undecided

I want my "Mother Mary" avatar back.

We should wait tomorrow and see if all the avatars will change or not (but I think it is only an april fool). Don't worry Wink.

I'm seeing several funny memes on people's avatars. And it's kinda funny! Good one, theymos. Good one. Cheesy
15934  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 12:22:29 PM
Incredible! I thought for sure this was an April fools' joke!
Thank you theymos!

Why oh why? Tried changing my avatar just to be in with the trends, but then:

Already resized the picture to 100x80, still:

15936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where do i get my btc ? on: April 01, 2015, 12:07:12 PM
I want to get my btc to play around. I tried btc-flow.com but it closed, then I heard I can get from btc-wolf.com but it does not work also  Sad
What is the most profitable legit faucet I can get btcs quickly Huh

I'm so sorry but there are no available "profitable and legit faucets" that exists in the bitcoin ecosystem. Only the faucets themselves profit from what they are doing (ad revenues). If you have some skills and you are good at it, why don't you offer it in the Services section of the forum and earn some bitcoins as well? Smiley
15937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin reveals Satoshi's been secretly working on BTC 2.0 on: April 01, 2015, 12:05:04 PM
speaking of April Fools, Theymos is trolling the whole forum as we speak.
look around the forum and you'll find out  Grin

Hmm. Can you point me out to where it is? Does it have something to do with the hidden pages where in we can track mods actions?

EDIT: tried modlog, but I can't see a thing.
15938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin reveals Satoshi's been secretly working on BTC 2.0 on: April 01, 2015, 11:52:36 AM
Oh my. I almost got caught in that one! Why is April Fools even considered a holiday? o.O But I know somewhere out there, Satoshi is still among us, using different accounts and the different way of talking to others, so as to hide his/her identity.

Anyway, thanks for the nice topic. A fun read, though it is very unlikely that it is true.  Sad

same here. I went from curiosity to mad to embarrassed when I found out about the lie.  Grin

April 1st is one of my most hated days, yet I just can't stay mad for long because I know it's the day for jokes.

Well tbh, I even had to searched for the same topic over the web, to find out that it is indeed another April Fools joke. Sad

Satoshi, where art thou? Huh

15940  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: April 01, 2015, 11:14:46 AM
Waiting for too long and for a too low price isn't a good strategy if you want to increase your holdings in btc. If you're planning to hold on for a long time, then averaging the prices might be good to settle your coins. The markets are a rapid-changing environment; different trends come and go--sometimes within a blink of an eye. So waiting for such a low price might be another opportunity missed, if you might ask me.
