15922  Other / Meta / Re: The end of an era for me: Leaving Signature Campaign on: September 22, 2019, 11:03:39 PM
Hence, how to drive up pay rates? I only know to cut supply (less shitposters sigcamp participants) or increase demand (more casinos service providers).

Or simply, the campaign manager should come into an agreement to set a minimum payrate per rank then projects willing to pay participants above the minimum payrate are free to do so but no projects will pay below the minimum. This way project hoping to employ the best posters on the forum will be forced to increase their payrate to attract them. Some signature payrate are just so ridiculous they only attracts spamming.

For the payrate, I recommend minimum;
Member = 0.002BTC
Full member = 0.004BTC
Snr member = 0.006BTC
Hero member  = 0.008BTC
Legendary  = 0.01BTC

Something like the above with 25 posts per week as the minimum to get paid. Paid weekly.

Better yet something like the above with 25 posts per month as the minimum posts to get paid.

Paid monthly.

I have not done a signature in so long I don’t even know what it pays.
15923  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: September 22, 2019, 10:48:32 PM
I just went to Lowe's to pick up the last items that weren't being shipped.  Instead of the tongue and groove you are using (which looks nice in your basement BTW), I bought a 5/4" thick cedar board.  Should I just use one of these, or should I double it up?  I also have some cedar fence boards that are just under 3/4" thick, I could do one of each.  I'm just wondering how thick I should be building these wedges.   Obviously I want it close enough to channel the air but not so close it is a fire hazard.

did you get the foamed silver insulation I linked?

It is pretty heat resistant.

I had two wedges say 1/2 inch away from the center board.
I ended up using only the center hash board and I pulled the two outside boards.

I have around 26 s9s with five or six of them having dead boards so it was easy to make the one board s9.
15924  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Terminus R606 on: September 22, 2019, 09:19:45 PM
I would love 1 th/s but even at what seems stable - around 630 will eventually retume to lower until it gets to 550

I am about 180 gh for the 3 sticks and 1000gh for the r606

It just runs and runs.  I have a quality plat psu that feeds  the pc the usb hub and the r606.

Maybe a titanium evga.  I will check later.
15925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 22, 2019, 06:12:46 PM
As pangolinminer promised to ship out before 31 august 2019, in fact they dint do it , during august 31-sep 15 pangolinminer still selling instant stock which is usd 4000, that mean they purposely dragged pre order customer stock and selling it for higher price to make profit , they thought microbt have enough stock to supply but guess what,  they were wrong . This issue happen because of pangolinminer greedy , they wanted to earn more but sacrifice our pre order customer profit . Now they are just keep silent , without answering any email . what a coward.

I understand you are pissed off.
Still go on microbt twitter and complain.  Try to be professional.
Maybe they will do something for you. I noticed an issue with pagolinminer's telegram  they went dark for a long time.  Say Aug 20 to Sept 7  I thought it was right after the mudslide flooding video from china. Looking at what happened from the outside  it looks like  they were told gear would be late and still sold some gear.  I don't know.

At o-scott  you have listings for late october  nothing current  for m20s  what is your situation?

Frankly  not to knock anyone  but I would be very careful ordering any whatsminer gear.

Since the builder is admitting to delays of 2-3 weeks  at the moment and none of us really know how slow they will be.
15926  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 22, 2019, 04:51:29 PM
Seems there were issues with chip delivery to microBT causing delays. Though this shouldn't affect customer service.

I posted  microbt's tweet  if you read between the lines  it appears they are pointing a finger at pangolinminer

Twitter announcement made.

https://twitter.com/Whatsminer_MBT/status/1174010108549853185

https://i.imgur.com/ww1tzDo.png

Looks like a delay on all those m20s units on order.  Things are swing in the favor of bitmain  and maybe avalon.

It is possible that this gear could face  longer delays then 2-3 weeks.  Based on other companies and delays that have happened in the past.

The part of the tweet that appears to place blame on pangolin is as follows:

"...Secondly, some third party sales channels have possibly promised the customer's delivery date earlier than the date agreed between WhatsMiner and the channel in the contract..."

I would post every place pangolinminer is and everyplace Microbt is  and ask directly  wtf is the story.

I would post  thanks and nicely.

If neither answers  then I would post both should pay some coin or coupon for the delay.

Saying "fuck you blow me bitch you are a thief"  is not the way to get some $$ back.

this is  an appeal to peakmining  to act like a businessman  about the delay.

He can ask the 2 parties  for a better explanation and what they intend to give him for the delay.

15928  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: September 22, 2019, 03:18:17 PM
I put in my order for 2 s9k  units they shipped today.

They were due to ship  sept 20 to sept 30

I paid 310 each.

They reduced price to 253.

So I should get coupons.

Dhl says my gear arrives on the 24th.

These should be under the  de minimus 800 tax number.

I wish they would give me my coupons I would order again.

I wonder has anyone received a coupon?  Typical of bitmain  they saw  microbt broke news of late shipping and then decided no competition from the m20 and m20s  fuck sending promised coupons.

Really bad news  that microbt is going to ship late as bitmain won't issue us the promised coupons.
15929  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 22, 2019, 03:11:16 PM
Please understand you were fucked read my thread on this.

As to whom to blame you can blame Pangolinminer and choose to ignore MicroBT the manufacturer if you want to do this it is your choice.

I see this as a fail on MicroBT not Pangolinminer.  What I don’t like is MicroBT is not offering people like you any compensation.  But if you dealt with them directly they say they will compensate you.

So basically they left Pangolinminer out to dry. Which means MicroBT the builder has fucked you and many others hard.

Btw as I type bitmain directly promised me coupons due to me on sept 18th which I would use right now.

Guess what no coupons and today is the 22 so they fucked me less hard then you but they still fucked me.

So far a four day delay on the coupons.

And Innosilicon was 9 days late on my gear a t3 t50 cost me 100 bucks. They offered me zero compensation on it.  I purchased it with a reseller Minefarmbuy that did give me a refund .

So. Bitmain failed me innosilicon failed me. But the reseller Minefarmbuy did the right thing.

You posted nasty against Pangolinminer I don’t know what they will or can do to help.

But telling them fuck you you suck is pretty dumb move.
Be a professional and post us info about your attempt to get compensation.

Be patient about it. If you ask properly you may get some compensation.

Pin down MicroBT on the tweet they wrote as they hint that Pangolinminer was deceptive.  So if they will answer that exactly.  Yes we told Pangolinminer the correct time .  Right now. At this moment you are not sure if pangolin is a villain if MicroBT is a villain or if they worked together.  Lastly you don’t know if the wafer cutter was bribed to delay MicroBT.

So. Work at finding that out.
15930  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 troubleshooting - bootloop and possible malf. chip on: September 22, 2019, 02:07:47 PM
To clarify.

You can run two boards. And do 9th.

And most likely your third board is dead just detach it.

To be able to run part of that bad board is not possible with the firmware you have.
15931  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos vs Roger Ver (2:0) on: September 22, 2019, 03:20:20 AM
VER vs Bitcointalk cencorship =  Ver very well may have a point right now. We still have very good standards of free speech here over many aspects but if you question the observable actions of some DTs or moderator members you may find your posts vanishing, and you may find one liner insults  that are groundless being merited by moderators. Let's fix this so people can not criticize this great forum and substantiate their claims with observable instances.

Compared to VerForum
Bitcointalk is a paradise.

There you can't even write Bitcoin.com inside post...
If you don't believe me then try it yourself  Smiley

VerForum is like Phantom Zone
from Superman universe

As we said this place is great until you want to bring up some observable instances of financially motivated wrong doing by DT members. Try that and see if you get away with out a ton of scam tags screaming you are a defamer and scammer. You say you can't give me a scam tag for presenting FACTS in the history that anyone can verify

THEY WILL SAY

"I CAN I WILL AND I JUST HAVE"

this is from a confirmed and documented auction scammer who supports a proven scammer who was caught red handed denying the project he held bags of tokens for was premined/instamined and he knew this because he was on the POW launch. It is accepted and documented FACT that it took place, there is strong case for him extorting people and a shady escrow to his name that many believe was for a small fortune.

You mention any of it and you will get a scam tag and THEYMOS allows this to happen and says if you whistleblow on observable financially high risk DT members - you MAY have a case for saying this is wrong, but now you got angry about being trust abused by proven scammers that means you are CRAZY so therefore there is some mental gymnastics that say although you have been here years, done one trade (successful) and never attempted any others, fought the largest scams and won a 2 000 000 000 USD airdrop compensation offer to the board and made many people rich from presenting your trading advice for which they have been publicly grateful. That even so.. because you got angry the same scammers you fought and defeated to induce a 2 000 000 000 usd compensation offer have BRANDED ALL YOUR THREADS AS ONES STARTED BY A SCAMMER... now you are actually a scammer yourself?  errrr okay theymos

What about them the real scammers those with observable instances of financially motivated wrongdoing ? well Theymos says, I will talk to OG and other members and work things out so any scam tags the REAL SCAMMERS have on them can be taken away so there is no more fighting. Fighting is counter productive.

Only because people Theymos is familiar with OG, lauda, Vod and other meta board people were effected did he bring forth the much needed flagging system. Theymos does not care about other members not from meta board in our opinion because he does not hear about it and can get back to watching tv.

You don't have to be dishonest or against free speech yourself when you are running a forum to indirectly allow an environment that crushes free speech. If you want to be warden of this board you need to ensure you are keeping an eye on things like this and not allow a 2 tier system to spring up where rules only apply to "some people".

This is a very important movement taking place and this is the center of it. You don't want a censored ANTI SATOSHI  2tier system springing up at the center. Fair transparent rules FOR ALL MEMBERS. If best efforts are not taking place to ensure this then for sure ROGER VER and anyone else can start saying Theymos is responsible for it since he is the warden of this board. That is why it is VERY IMPORTANT that theymos stamps out any corruption or double standards as soon as he sees them. Not just say oh its a few red marks on their account what's the big deal, or a few deletes here and there. Stop squabbling and being counter productive.

Clear double standard from mod or system controller = Last warning before perm expulsion.

Clear scamming or financial wrong doing from anyone in the trust system = Out and perm ban

no sweeping it under the carper or roger ver can not be denied to having a point, whether theymos is directly or indirectly involved.

We support theymos as a person and believe he is honest and want the best for the forum. FOR SURE WHY WOULD HE NOT
We don't support the "oh it will sort itself out" "oh what you're and auction scammer and observable imbecile - sure DT and merit source for you",  " what you have never scammed anyone and have no observable instances of financially motivated wrong doing  but scammers gave you a scam tag.... shut up with your boring long winded moaning "

Wake up , Man up and get rid of the censorship on this board in terms of dirty corrupt moderators and scamming untrustworthy DT members and their weak ass supporters....this is all a form of censorship if you allow them to have power to damage other persons accounts and put notices on the top of their threads saying THIS THREAD STARTED IS A SCAMMER.... you are censoring their entire output here and years of their hard work.

Let's get on with it. So people like VER say hey theymos board is censoring me and deleting my posts. We can say NOT TRUE unless you broke the rules that apply to ALL MEMBERS if you stay within the rules your post was 100% NOT DELETED AND NOT CENSORED. We can not say that right now.

You can say what you like with a negative trust score but you will be censored because

1/ people will fear saying or asking certain things (even if they are true) because they don't want red trust
2. People will be  also be ignored (just because they spoke the truth) as they have big scam sign on their account. Who bothers to read what they have to say after that is on the top.

This is wrong.

We are STRONG SUPPORTERS OF THEYMOS HIMSELF because he seems to be the best person for this type of movement in that he does not seem greedy or dishonest and does support free speech.

However he is NOT perfect. He needs to man up and get rid of the corrupt and observably financially dangerous scum bags here. They are the censorship because you allowed them (as selfish , greedy and corrupt people do if you don't keep an eye on them) to gain a lot of power and influence here.

Theymos also does not like to debate. Especially if you start demonstrating his initial assumption (based on lack of bothering to examine evidence) is either wrong or certainly not accurate. He just vanishes and that's that.

So theymos 8/10  - ten for intentions being good , but room for implementational improvement for sure.

Ver appears to be more difficult to gage but seems willing to back scams - this we can not support in anyway. Especially when this was made clear and there were threads about those projects some from one of the best scam hunters here Bruno. If he was unaware before that is a possibility.

TLDR??

You don't have to directly censor yourself to be responsible for censorship. That is theymos's current issue. He needs to get on top of it.
Overall we think you can trust theymos on a personal level for sure.

If ver is allowing censorship then he is again open to criticism. Although why you can not mention the domain he owns is confusing. We have not used his forum and do not intend to. This is the prime forum for crypto and should remain so. That is why we need to make it a non hostile environment. We can only do that if if it is provably a fair and open environment where rules are applied equally to all members.

Yeah people do fear talking against staff and moderators.  But every board on every forum I have been on people fear pointing out staff and mods doing wrong.

I have had run ins on anandtech with a staff/mod I simply don’t post their often anymore.
It was easy enough to leave that forum as I came here and did not look back.

If staff or a mod really pushed me hard on this forum I would mention it and most likely leave the forum for a while.
15932  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1041 not hashing on: September 21, 2019, 05:46:57 PM
so what volts do you feed those psu's  208, 220, 230, 240?

and what is the welding job you did?

did you attach the psu's correctly to the units?

most of us added some nylon to prevent a short as the cables were close to shorting.
15933  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1041 not hashing on: September 21, 2019, 04:17:43 PM
I don't understand  your post.

Who used/tested the gear for a month?
15934  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 21, 2019, 02:11:27 PM
I am currently running several S17 56TH on 208V. I have randomly Amp Clamped over 20 of them at the lead wire coming from the Breaker. These units are pulling consistently 12 Amps. We all used to easily get away with using 12 gauge wire, particularly in our receptacle;e pigtails. ( so much easier to make them up ) I am rethinking this part of my grid build outs now. These new units are consistently into the double digit amperage's. I believe that 12 gauge COPPER wire can support these loads but due to the constant draw aspect of our game, it's a bit of a game of Russian Roulette as to when your wires heat up, and melt their clothing. IMHO, it's not worth the risk to save some sore fingers from twisting 10g to 10g during rig ups. 2 S17's on one 30amp Breaker gets you right at 24amps +/-. Perfectly at the 80% threshold. Run that on 10 gauge and you'll avoid that awful smell of burning electrical components. Oh....and also burning buildings.  Wink ( side note; When I amp clamp th T17 38 th they always come in under 10 amps. Again, running 3ph, 208V )

Yeah I have only the one 53t pro  which pulls 2225 watts  so 2225/208 = 10.7 amps

but we run around 227 volts so 2225/227 = 9.8 amps.

All my 30 amp circuits to l6-30r are 10 gauge under 6 foot runs.  So they can do 5000 watts  5000/208 = 24.04 amps.

every once in a while  we shift to a low leg  and volts drop as low as 187  fucks up everything.

I am working with power company as to why it happens.

With us gear drops out and comes back since the low volts do not last.

the danger for a steady draw setup is if the low volts lasts for hours
15935  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 21, 2019, 11:46:37 AM
NEVER BUY FROM PANGOLINMINER ANYMORE!!
they keep selling m20s for instant buyer with Usd4000 but dragging pre order customer stocks, if anyone ask in telegram about the issue, pangolinminer will delete the question and ban the user, that's why nobody complaint in telegram group, now August batch stock nobody receiving yet, if asking no1 will reply , this is how pangolinminer work.

There is an issue with all m20s  I did a thread about it here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5186263.0

My advise is don't buy any whatsminer units from anyone  until the delays are fixed.

This means anyone.

Brokers
alibaba sellers
ebay sellers
pangolinminer.com
whatsminer.net

I am not an insider  but I sensed an issue  and posted here  a while back. Sept 3

I found the tweet from the original  builder of the gear and posted it yesterday. in the link above.

there will be at least a 2-3 week delay of all gear.  and since pangolin is a reseller not the builder  micobt.  you may have issues on getting some adjustment for the delays
15936  Other / Meta / Re: creating a new section: Mini PC on: September 21, 2019, 11:26:07 AM
I would like to see a section on minicomputers, since forum users are holding nodes of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on them. And sometimes very awkward seek information about them around the forum, and so can be was would pursue debate on him in a special section, for example mini-the PC.

These can be summed up in mining section, doesn't it?

You don't have to create new section for every new thing, it's just makes things cumbersome.

not really since the mining section is one for alt coins and one for btc.

So you then would need at least 2 threads.

For instance I am on a mac mini 2014  uses and extrenal ssd as the boot drive.  I run two core wallets  with full nodes one for LTC and one for BTC  if I wanted to do a thread under mining I would need two thread one in alt coins and one in BTC.

My guess is this was or is the op's main reason for a small form factor section.

In the same desk area I have a dell optiplex micro it is hooked up to the same  monitor and has an xmr wallet/node  It would be nice to have a goto thread showing the advantages  of these small pcs for running wallets nodes etc.

There are a lot of different ones available.

four or five rasp pi models
many apple mac mini models
dell optiplex
lenovo tiny
hp elite
intel nuc
zotac has a whole line of them
giga byte brix

current rules of forum  would mean a threads in the sections below

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0  btc hardware
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=81.0  btc speculation
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0  btc technical support

those above would be for btc

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  alt coin mining  ---- I do the gpu threads here.

I can see why op is asking for a spot to have all this.  Also if a thread says  how to use a rasp pi you won't find it with a mini pc as  the search

If a thread says  are lenovo tinys good enough to run a core wallet you wont find it with a mini pc search.

If I wanted to spend the time to develop a thread  for using mini pcs.

I would need to do 4 threads to follow forum rules.  It starts to be too hard to do that.

My gpu threads 1 to 8 had more then 1 million hits.

For instance  if you go to dell outlet right now  they have

optiplex 3060 micro
optiplex 5060 micro
optiplex 7060 micro

and
a precision small form factor

I could write a few thousand words  about the pcs above no problem

But  I can't do it in one section.

I own a 7060 dell optiplex.  I could right how I use it why it is out standing for a core wallet/node how to mod it how to back it up.

I read meta a lot and I post on it once in a while  I read this thread and it caught my interest as I am in mining and crypto due to my mac mini mod business.  Apple altered the newer mac mini's in 2012 and  2014 thus it made my mod business obsolete.  I had lots of pc building experience with small pc's  and started doing gpu btc builds in 2012  when I saw the end of my mac mini modding.
15937  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WhatsMiner M20 to be delayed 2-3 weeks on: September 21, 2019, 02:00:09 AM
It is buried in there.  But I found link to confirm on a different thread.
15938  Other / Meta / Re: creating a new section: Mini PC on: September 21, 2019, 01:56:54 AM
I am willing to run a small form factor thread.  It would list small form / mini PCs / what nodes etc.

I would self mod it. Can’t be any harder to run then the GPU threads I ran.

I only ask a mod to tell me where to list it.

It would be inclusive of all coins and all nodes.

Even pos staking which I don’t like.

Not sure where to post it.  But since I use a lot of small PCs a good thread is worth while.
15939  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WhatsMiner M20 to be delayed 2-3 weeks on: September 21, 2019, 01:47:43 AM
Start messaging them for compensation. It won't be much but you should be able to receive something. Starting the conversation now at least gives you an idea of where things are going.
Odds are though it will just be a promise to give you a deal in the future.

They may send him a m21 as compensation. Worth about 880 usd.

I know biffa had late t3 t43s and got t3 t50 upgrade on some units.

Maybe he can confirm this. And sparow0841 could point out the upgrade biffa got.

In my case a 9 day delay I was not offered anything from innosilicon.

Yeah  I would like to see blocks go the 2x route every once in a while.

As for being able to process this not a problem.

the ryzen 3900x is cheap  and fast  with a lot of processing.

I have a new pcie ssd  it is smoking fast.

and 10gb ethernet is right around the corner.

So I can see us going up to 32mb size blocks.
