161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 30, 2023, 11:50:05 PM
~~~
New gamblers tend to be filled with curiosity about how the gambling system works, so they continue to make deposits to continue gambling with the aim of getting big profits from gambling. Meanwhile, for those who have been gambling for a long time, they already know how the gambling system works, so even without a record it can make them more careful in gambling and continue to try to control themselves when gambling. and they also tend to gamble just to fulfill their desire to gamble because they already "choose and place" part of their enjoyment in gambling.
I don't know what the use of notes is in gambling, in fact I'm not sure they need to learn anything when they are againt the system. I'm not really interested in learning how to beat the system, it's obviously pointless especially in luck based games like slots, dice or some others. Usually notes are not made to prevent many losses, but they seem to want to learn something that they believe could be the main weapon to beat the system.
In my opinion, gamblers keep records of wins/losses for very different reasons. Someone to understand how much money loses in the casino for a certain period of time, someone to calculate the real RTP of a particular gambling game, someone keeps a record of all their income/expenses, so the activity in gambling is also included in these records.
And that's good practice, because keeping a record of track of your expenses is a good way of knowing how much your money has grown or lost, I personally keep a record of everything I do, especially in gambling, because I should know if my capital produces a profit or not. In that way, I will be a responsible gambler, not just gamblers who bet and doesn't have a concern on their money. I also keep track or record of my trading in bitcoin or any other coin and also in my investments, let's say, in all the things I do with relation to money. I think many think that it's a waste of time or they say that you should not have a thing that will remind you of your losses. No, you should have, so you know if you are a responsible gambler and know if you should continue or quit gambling.
It's not only a good practice but also to keep yourself on track of how much money you wager and your earnings. Knowing if your capital produces money or not is good, but do keep in mind that it might also be the trigger of chasing your losses if ever you see your records with negative profit. Self-control is still needed even if you're tracking your gambling activities.
162  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Mga ragnarok classic gamer maganda ito on: October 30, 2023, 11:27:32 PM
Parang kailan lang very optimistic ako sa laro pero noong parang inisip ko play to win itong larong ito tapos may legal bot service galing mismo sa devs, parang pera pera nalang talaga itong mga NFT games na tinatawag nila. Ang dami ko ring nakikita na pilot service at ginawang yun na ang focus ng laro, wala na yung thrill na pahirapan magpalevel sana tinaasan nalang nila yung exp tapos inalis yung mga ganung service na nabanggit ko kasi ibang iba na yung experience kaya parang lumaylow na muna ako. Hindi naman ako nag invest ng kahit anong crypto sa kanila dahil meron din silang sariling in game ION token pero yung oras na ininvest ko, parang libreng oras ko lang din at tinest ko sila.
Yan din ang point ko kabayan , dahil wala na yong essence ng Leveling , nagiging pera pera na para lumakas kaya sa dulo magsasara dahil lahat na malakas ano pa ang magiging kwenta ng laro?
Iba pa din yong katulad noon na super hard palevel , yong tipong magdamag ka maglalaro para lang maka gain ng konting experience or level , not like now may BOT na kusang magpapalakas ng account mo .
ano pa silbi ng laro kung ganon , eh di magbenta nalang sila ng pre created accounts na babayaran ng players depende sa kakayahan nila at kayamanan.
nagiging sa una nalang ang saya and after a while pagsasawaan kaagad.
Sobrang dami pang mga ads ang ginagawa nito ni Landverse lalo na sa Facebook. Kaya mas dumadami din ang nakakakita ng larong yan. Tapos sa mga pages na related sa metaverse at mga NFT games, isa ito sa nilalagay nila sa top dahil global map at maraming users. Kaso nga lang sa game play na nagkakatalo, noong una ang saya pa magpalevel kasi halos lahat sa mapa may mga novice at nagpapalevel lang. Ngayon, bawat mapa parang merong mga naka bot na automatic nagpapalevel na. Kaya noong nakita ko na sinasawsawan ako ng mga nakabot, parang nawalan na akong ng gana kasi unfair, naging play to win na yung laro imbes na play to earn saka play to enjoy.
Malay natin may mga pagbabagong magaganap at baka mas dumami pa ang mga bot nila, tignan natin at makikita yung mga changes na yan magkakaroon ng impact sa economy ng laro.
nauumay na nga ako sa Facebook eh halos bawat refresh ko lumalabas yong ads nila kaya Binablock kona para wag panay ang sulpot dahil di naman ako interesado .and para sakin kahit anong game play pa ang gawin nila kung nabibili naman ang Lakas eh wala pa ding sense , kasi lalabas na MAYAMAN LANG ANG MAGIGING MAMAW , hindi na competent pag ganon , at surely short time enjoyment lang to dahil pag nagsawa na ang mga willing gumastos eh magsasara na agad. katatapos lang ng isang scam game na naipost na din dito sa local kaya anong alam natin baka ganito din kalabasan nito dba?
Dun na kasi lalabas yung pay to win. Syempre hindi pantay pantay ang lahat ng manlalaro, hindi din pwede gawing libre ang lahat ng drop at item na makukuha mo dahil walang iikot na pondo sa mga dev. Kung gusto mo lumakas at competitive ka talaga sa laro, gagastos ka. Pero kung regular player ka lang, gusto ng mapaglilibangan na laro habang kumikita, kahit hindi ka gumastos ay ok lang.
163  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Lumang post dati na hindi nagtiwala kay Bitcoin on: October 30, 2023, 10:40:25 PM
May kilala ako na businessman na dahil sa inip ay pinili na ibenta ang kanyang hawak na Bitcoin para sa isang bagong business venture, kaya ang inip at kawalan ng pasensya ang isa sa mga dahilan kaya marami tayong mga kababayan na biglang nagbebenta.
Lalo na yung mga baguhan na masyadong mainipin na gusto ay kita agad pagka invest.
May ganyan talaga kaya dapat pag isipan kung kayang mag invest sa Bitcoin na habaan sana ang pasensya, gawin natin. Pero sa businessman naman yan tingin ko ay crucial din yang moment na pinag isipan niya na ibenta nalang yung mga bitcoin niya para sa business na gagawin niya. May pinuntahan naman yung pera niya at okay lang yun. Basta tayo kapag maisipan man nating ibenta ang mga hinohold natin, kailangan lang nating siguraduhin na hindi tayo magsisisi na nagbenta tayo ay may napuntahan naman na makakatulong din sa mga buhay natin yung pinagbentahan kaya panalo pa rin tayo dun at yun naman ang purpose ng paghohold natin, para kumita at magamit sa mga mahahalagang pagkakagamitan ng pera na galing sa kita natin sa pagbenta ng btc.
Kumbaga mas pinili niya ung pang long term na mas may knowledge sya at kaya niya ihandle, tapos magbibigay pa sakanya ng passive income. Yung monthly income na mag susustain ng needs and wants niya. Kumpara kasi sa Bitcoin na alam nating investment na long term pero walang guarantee kung kailangan mo makukuha ang profit ng investment mo, unless nag trading ka.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTT Token on: October 30, 2023, 07:08:22 AM
hi ,
my brother like most of Americans invested in FTT , what do you feel the future of FTT now ? Will it die a slow death ?
I don't know where you gathered the data that most Americans invested in FTT. Many traders and investors are avoiding that coin. As far as I know, FTT has no use anymore. It was created mainly to use in FTX, but as we all know, FTX does not exist anymore. It only means that FTT will no longer needed and only exist for trading.
2017 din ang best bull run experience para sa akin. Ayan ang kasagsagan ng bounty campaign na halos naging way para sa karamihan para makakuha ng malalaking income. Ayan din ang taon na nauso ang airdrop na mag subscribe ka lang ay makakakuha kana ng airdrop kumpara sa airdrop ngayon na madami na task bago makakuha ng airdrop.
167  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Nag Rug Pull Na Nang Inis Pa, Dev Abandon NFT games on: October 29, 2023, 05:19:39 AM
Ang laki na ng na-established na community ng game na yan lalo dito sa South East Asia region.
Ang laki din ng prize pool sa mga tournaments nila. Talagang marami silang players. May mga events pa yan na ginagawa sa ibang bansa. Di ako nag invest dito pero ginawa kong pamatay oras ang larong yan kasi ok naman sya laruin at di ko na ineexpect iyong pagiging P2E nya. Kumbaga pamatay oras lang gaya ng paglalaro natin ng mga offline game.
Sayang kung tinuloy na lang sana ang game at ang hirap pa naman mag build ng reputation. Pero sabagay kung may intention talaga ang Dev na yan sa simula na mag cheat buti na lang din na inabandon niya na. Pero as an established popular game, sana mahabol nila ang mga dev behind that game kasi sa pagkakaalam ko di naman hidden at anonymous ang identity ng mga taong nasa likod nyan.
Ganyan na pala kalaki ang naging community nila at reputation. Sayang nga kung sinira lang nila sa pagiging rug pull. Mas maganda sana kung pinasa nalang nila sa ibang management tapos binenta nalang nila, nagkapera pa rin sila at yung mga players ay tiwala pa rin sa laro nila.
Ang hirap pa naman mag establish ng mga players at reputation ng laro tapos madaming naglalaro na nags-stay, yun yung mahirap imaintain, sayang lang at hindi yan naisipan ng mga devs na yan.
Hindi din kasi basta basta ang pagpapasa ng management. Marami silang kailangan ikonsidera bago gawin yun. At isa pa, sabi nila planado na talaga yan, kung ganung nasa plano na nila ang pag rug sa LOC, wala nang ibang magiging plano yan kundi iwan talaga ang laro.
Sayang lang yung nabuild nilang community, pero mas sayang at kawawa ang mga players na hindi pa nakaka ROI lalo yung mga nagbayad ng $45 bago sila tuluyang mag rugpull.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to keep your seed phrase secure. on: October 29, 2023, 05:09:39 AM
Google is not going to track me for my 0.002BTC. and it's not simple, a seed have 12 words I will translate 4 words in 3 different languages in different papers and keep them in different locations. Maybe 2 papers is good choice.
The link above is not about translating the seed phrase but it is about if you want your seed phrase to be in other languages according to BIP39.
I will advice you not to translate anything. The reason is because the word you are translating have synonyms and very possible there could be a mistake in the future in a way you may not be able to translate the language back to the original 12 to 24 words.
And that is true, translator works online which is another reason it should not be used.
If we go by your method then it is even more better if we just encrypt the words using other algorithm and then keep those encrypted words at different places.
Encrypting the seed phrase is another good advice.
That's a very good point about the synonyms. A single word can have multiple synonyms and just imagine how awfully wrong we can be with 12 - 24 words.
So I guess it's way better to encrypt it after all. We just have to decide an encryption method and then store the encrypted seed on a secure location having multiple backups.
Just the owner would know which encryption method he had used.
In other words, OP's just trying to make it hard for himself to recover his seed phrase. The fact that there are multiple synonyms when you translate it back to the original word has the possibility of being unable to get back the exact original word.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 28, 2023, 01:42:20 AM
Investing is long-term and involves low risk
First, simply investing isn't "low risk" but rather involves lower risk when compared to trading. However, both of them work just fine. One main advantage of simply investing rather than trading is that you don't need any special knowledge, all you need to do is make the purchase. But on the other hand, not only do you need to have knowledge of trading, you have to be good at it and be able to make your own call. So, if you have the knowledge to trade, give it a shot to see how good you are. If it's not so good, you can learn more or stick to simply investing.
Aside from knowledge of trading, you also need to have more experience. Even if you have enough knowledge, you can't simply gain profit by only that.
But yes, if he's unsure what to choose between trading or investing, give it a try to experience what he prefers. Once he tries, he will know what is better for him.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 28, 2023, 01:26:17 AM
Keeping a record does not do anything good for a gambler. It only makes you stressed if you can check your average loss. Also, it's unnecessary, if you're the type of gambler, online casinos have the stats of every player showing the W/L ratio.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 14, 2023, 11:35:01 AM
When I read and understood what you said, I had the thought that if a gambler is addicted but has recovered from his addiction and is still gambling, but with a lot of experience he is able to know what the risks of gambling are and has very good control.
With everything they have, this gambling addict is able to have a strategy that can result in winning from gambling, but I am not saying that winning is certain, it just that the addict is successful in increasing the chances of winning that they will get.
This is possible because once he has recovered from his addiction, he can gamble calmly, not chase after winnings, and gamble in moderation. He was completely different from when he often gambled before in that he didn't have good self-control. His current self-control is so different from before that he will not gamble beyond his limits because he knows what will happen to him if he crosses his limits. Indeed, he cannot win more often because it will depend on his luck, but at least he can limit himself to gambling and not make gambling something that can give him money. He can treat gambling as a form of entertainment as it should be.
Is there really such a thing as recovering from a gambling addiction and still playing? I don't think so. What I think is that he gained experience by playing multiple times and he came up with some of the tricks and ideas on how he will be able to win. But the addiction will be still. If we're talking about recovering from gambling, there's no reason for a gambling addict to continue playing.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: September 14, 2023, 09:28:47 AM
I try to budget a certain amount for gambling on a weekly and monthly basis. It won't have a major impact on my gambling. If I lose  I stop my gambling temporarily until I come next time. If I win in gambling then I try to transfer that specific amount of excess money so that I don't have any difficulty in gambling. Although this kind of control in gambling was difficult for me in the beginning but later I was able to maintain it. If the limit is regulated by the fixed amount for gambling, there is less chance of losing and healthy gambling can be conducted.
You can do that great, sometimes I also do that to cover myself from losses, but if you do it continuously it is like you just want to get money from gambling, there is no fun, satisfy the pleasure, friend until the end of the balance. LOL
It seems that if I do the things that you do will improve me in gambling to be better and not too far in gambling, but fortunately I also have a limit in the deposit budget for several time lags in one week, so I don't think it won't There are concerns because they are accustomed to this kind of thing, but when you get a victory, more time gambling.
As long as we limit our budget, I think everything is good, but we need to control ourselves not to gamble too much, because if we follow greedy behavior, there will never be an end, we will continue gambling until our money runs out, especially if we win, we don't stop playing, that's all. Of course it will drain our winnings until they run out completely. It is important to control yourself before gambling.
Always make sure your budget and time for gambling are well limited because that is the basic step to avoid addiction because if you don't do that then we will easily get addicted to gambling all the time to fulfill our curiosity and greed, the point is to always limit everything so that we don't go too far in gambling. , there is still tomorrow to catch up on defeat.
I agree, limiting our budget will not be effective if we do not control ourselves. In the end, we will keep on gambling even if we have a limitation in our budget. A gambler will always think of taking back all the losses as long as he have some money in his bank. The best thing to do is to control or maybe there's someone that will help him to control himself like a relative or someone he will listen to.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 13, 2023, 08:01:39 AM
Gambling will be easier to quite if we have not dedicated so much of our time in it to the extend to making us feel uncomfortable when we don't bet. It will be more hard for people that had made loses in gambling and want to recover there funds before they leave gambling which can be very impossible.
If we tend to gain back our loses from gambling, it can make us to be very adamant and have greed that can cause more loses for us if we are not serious. We gamble to make money and if we don't make profits from what we are doing, mostly if we keep making loses then we need to stop that and look for another thing that will work for us..
I don't think so. It will only be easy to quit gambling if you have decided to change your life, without thinking of how much money you lose and how dedicated you are. If you truly want to quit gambling, decide for yourself and think of another hobby and source of income. That way, you will be able to make yourself busy and won't have the time to think of gambling again.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 12, 2023, 12:14:28 PM
Do you have experience playing at real casinos and online gambling sites? Is there a difference playing there? I want to know.
Yes, there's a lot of differences between online and physical casino. The experience depends on how you react when you enter the casino. But for me, the first time I entered the casino of course I felt excited and at the same time I felt nervous. You will see different people, play with them on a different table and you will see different emotions/reactions on their faces. The difference is like meeting people online and in person. You can easily read people, unlike online interaction which will be really hard.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: September 12, 2023, 09:54:41 AM
My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?
When I plan to gamble, I usually aim to spend around 15% of my income on deposits at gambling sites. I play casually and with small bets. If I win, it will be something good, but sometimes I lose quickly, making me angry and emotional so I deposit again, and again. Until my money was almost gone, the conditions were very bad. I don't do that often, but I have done it once or twice.
I don't have a winning target when playing gambling, I don't target a certain number such as having to win $100, $200, or $300. I use my feelings, if I feel like I've been playing for a long time and I'm starting to lose often then I will withdraw my money and come back tomorrow or next week. As long as I still think logically then it will be fine. But when greed come, it often has bad consequences
I understand you because we are just human beings living in this messy world where we need to survive every single day, we both know that it's not a realistic move because you ended with nothing but losses but I think, somehow, it's understandable as you're just trying to gamble to have more than your supposed budget. The thing is, we should just learn from our mistakes so that these situations will be avoided in the near future. I mean, at first, it's a mistake but doing it again is already a choice.
That's right, what he needs is to learn from his own mistakes and self-control. Whatever he do if he can't control himself from chasing his losses, this mistake will happen again and again. Instead of spending a little money from his income, every money he owns will lose. Most gamblers happen to do this mistake without notice which is easy to say, but it is really hard thing to do.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: September 12, 2023, 09:15:54 AM
Gambling addiction will always be closer to alcohol, drugs and other illegal drugs and we often see cases of someone who is ensnared by the law after being caught stealing money or robbing because they want to gamble again and the reason they steal the money is not just to gamble but to buy alcohol or drugs. and behind alcohol or drugs it is only an outlet for what they hate about themselves who cannot stop gambling but do not have family or friends who can help get rid of their addiction so they choose to destroy themselves by consuming illegal drugs or alcohol.
Another problem here is that all of this is just about irresponsible gambling which ends a person's life very badly in the long run and the story that we are discussing is one of the sufferings of gamblers who cannot stop their gambling activities or cannot gamble responsibly so they already become addicts very serious gambling.
Stealing to gamble? This is the height of it, why not steal to do business or better your life in other ways? I don't know how far this is true, but it might be true because I've seen people doing similar things, only that it's not as bad as this. The fact remains that when we gamble, we should gamble with sense and be sure of what we know and are doing, and gamble with what is not beyond ordinary. Gambling because of alcohol or stealing to gamble fully shows that these people are no more with their senses and the only remedy is for them to get help before it worsens. It's the responsibility of their close people to detect this and get them help, that's if they love them, and also the gambler's responsibility to be willing to change for the help to be effective.
I don't get the point of what you said, stealing to do business? That's ridiculous.
Anyways, as they have said above, people can do unimaginable things once they are consumed in gambling or any other vices. It is indeed the responsibility of the people around them to avoid these things from happening, however, this is not a simple thing to do. Most people hide what they are doing from their family and friends and keep everything from themselves. If this is the case, people around them can't easily figure things out what's going on with a person who's addicted to gambling.
