161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 13, 2016, 04:59:04 AM
I am reasonably certain that cryptsy has been hacked by the people behind cryptsy-refund. They have gained access to at least some or all customer email and phone numbers. They may have gained access to more personal information than just that including SSN's and DL #s if that was available unencrypted.

This is a shitstorm.....

I know they got at least email addresses since I just recently changed mine to a domain I recently registered. They also text messaged the phone number I have listed there. Fortunately I never gave them my SSN or DL#.

This breach of may cause crytsy to incur big fines from the federal government if SSNs have been taken?

My guess is that cold wallets are not being used to replenish funds. Once the funds in the hot wallets are depleted withdrawals have to wait until there are more coins available from trades or deposits.

The reason funds are not being replenished from cold wallets could have something to due with them being considered assets in the divorce. The company was most likely not set up to correctly to protect those funds from such things.

So the config file has:

DataDirectory=C:\\WorldcoinChain

Does it have to redownload the blockchain or can I point this to the location of the old data directory?

Something like:

DataDirectory=%appdata%\Worldcoin

or

DataDirectory=C:\\Users\\cartman\\AppData\\Roaming\\Worldcoin

Huh

Hi new worldcoin team! Does version 8.6.1 still work?

I am adverse to installers and would rather not have to install 8.6.2 on a burner windows system just to grab the worldcoin-qt.exe...sorry, just the way I am.

I appreciate the work and effort people are putting into this project. Good luck!

Sorry for the late response.
Yes, 0.8.6.1 is perfectly compatible! But some considerations below:

1) Installer is just a tool, not mandatory, you can download and copy files manually as previous wallet, no problem. Download link http://worldcoin.global/wallets/02.00.01/WBC - Windows - 020001.zip of 2.0.1 version
We also modified download page adding this option for people who dislikes installers (you are the first! Smiley )
(Edit Daemons.cfg and change variable DataDirectory where you want to install block chain, use double backslash as separator)
2) In new versions worldcoin-qt.exe does not exist. It is replaced by WorldcoinPanel.exe
3) We strongly recommend to use newer versions because we need to know that enough people is willing to upgrade in order to tweak block chain with newer features.

Awesome! Thanks! Smiley

BTW, the DL link in your post works...but the web site gives a 404.

There is really little to no good reason to get legally married. If possible two people should consider a union or marriage outside of the legal system. There is information on the internet that detail how this is done. Some go as far as considering a "legal" marriage going against the commandment of "Thou shalt have no other gods before me".

here in Australia though it makes little difference once you've been living with your partner for a year (or some similar period not 100% sure the length), similar rules apply as to the married, defacto relationships here get registered and are treated similar to marriage.

(gov prefers it that way as we are a wealthfare state ie a way to reduce the wealthfare payouts)

Same true in Alabama - six months. Wait, no wonder she left me after 5 1/2 months while living in Florence. Damn, I miss her pussy, fuckin' slut!

Thankfully California did away with common law marriage a while ago...stopped having to kick out the GF every 6 months only to move them back in later Wink

If you have any amount of wealth or assets you should absolutely not consider entering a legal marriage unless the other party has an equal amount of wealth/assets. Even if things are equal going into a legal marriage during the course of the marriage one party may start to have greater earnings than the other thus skewing the relationship financially. This can be considered an incentive to the lesser earning party to dissolve the union but continue to receive a financial benefit.

Benefits of a legal marriage are:

Social Security survivorship
(...and that's all I can think of!)

Maybe two different wallet codebases should be maintained. One for the new version with the new features and other for the standard one based on bitcoin. I fear that the new feature rich client will require an installation program to operate and not be just a simple executable like the old version (and bitcoin). It is the reason I have yet to install the newer version of the CSC wallet and have no plans to do so if it requires an application installation.
Why would you not want to use an installer? I think 99% of the users prefer it as its the way they normally install software. Anyway, we could also just create a zip file that contains the extra Qt files and supply that as secondary install method, then you just unzip and run from the directory where you put it. A second codebase is not going to happen, at least i will not maintain that ...... for now the old wallet still works and i suspect that with the new additions i am currently developing it will all still be backwards compatible with the v1.3 wallet as well as we do not touch the blockchain itself, you will just be missing out on all the new v2.0 release features!

Also by having an installer for CasinoCoin, is doesn't make it portable right? Because in the old version, it was a standalone executable wallet (no installer) and I could put the same on my USB flash drive, and take it anywhere and it would open on any Windows PC. If the new one could also be like this, I think it would be pretty cool.  Smiley

Usually for QT clients that only have installers I have been able to install it using a burner system (VM) and then copy the resulting .exe in Program Files to my main computer. Haven't tried that with the new CSC QT but it might work...and if it does this whole conversation is moot...but the additions sounded like they needed an installer to work..so I brought it up.

That...and not everyone has the ability to install software on their computers.

I put all my QT wallets on OneDrive...that way I have access to all of them when I switch to a new computer....there are soooo many that having to install each one would not be something I would do. I switch computers a lot since I usually get the latest and greatest.

Also, doing an install makes it available to all users on the system. I have different user accounts for personal and business and do not want QT wallets showing up in my business account.

I don't put my wallet.dat files on OneDrive even though I have two factor...just in case. Tongue

Placing QT wallets on OneDrive is a clever idea. About placing the wallet.dat directly into OneDrive is not safe, but you can make it safe by using TrueCrypt or VeraCrypt to make an encrypted file container and place your wallet.dat there. The safest way for encryption would be using a password with at least 60 characters of length (you can use password generator for this) and also a keyfile (any file that could be used as a token to unlock your encrypted file container) for maximum security. I have done this with most of my wallet.dat files and they are safely encrypted on that file container within the cloud storage service (such as OneDrive or Dropbox).  Smiley

Thanks...good idea. I don't put my wallet files (and the large blockchains) on OneDrive due to security AND storage space constraints on OneDrive for personal use...bumping up against the limit as it is.

Any integration into a real casino will greatly increase the value. I honestly don't know what the limit would be.

If the Prypto program launches I would think that $1 would be the floor not the ceiling.

For those wanting to get their BTC out of Cryptsy it looks like CSC is one option. Unfortunately there is not a lot of buy support on alcurEX so it wont work for large volumes.

Hi All,
Just released a 2.0.1.0 version of the wallet for windows to fix some small bugs and coin fiat value information, you can get it at: https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases/tag/2.0.1.0. Just install it over the 2.0.0.0 version and your all fine.
Enjoy!

Thanks for making just the executable available...hate installers.

I wonder why "pot shops" haven't started accepting bitcoin yet? Everything is there for them to do so.

Guys I have a lot of CSC in Cryptsy and want to take it out but there is no damn wallet for MAC
looking at how bad cryptsy is I am going to have to dump them if I cant find an answer

There is a mac wallet. It just might not be compiled for your particular osx version. That being said, you cna compile your own mac wallet.

https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases/download/1.2.0.0/Casinocoin-osx-Qt.dmg

Build instructions if the above doesn't work:
https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/blob/master/doc/build-osx.txt

This is the wrong version no ? We are on https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases/tag/1.3.0.0

Yes, the available Mac version is for the older version before the fork that reduced supply and subsidy. DO NOT USE!
