161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 26, 2017, 08:16:37 PM
XZC is hit on MPH now that everyone has jumped on board.  That and the 20K+ difficulty has halved my daily take.  Looking for other options .....

Nemo/ahashpool. Look no further. And mph is giving some people hard time mining xzc, while others seem to be doing just fine hashrate wise.
1) Yes use nemo and ahash if you want to work for food. Nicehash slavery is also an option Grin
2) It was explained many times. Those who are doing fine with MPH are using correct miner.
1) whatever rocks your cage mate
2)explanations aside, i`ve tried djm34 both ccminers, both cuda 9 and the older one, tried other cc forks as well. no improvement. i should be getting around 40k at least, yet the pool is constantly reporting 34000 mh/s...

Just noticed and dunno, maybe it was there before.. but you can mine zcoin on ahashpool as well...

163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What does HODL mean ? on: December 26, 2017, 04:58:13 PM
Someone once misspelled the word HOLD, and it became a meme for anyone suggesting you hold your coins instead of selling them.
When the things look dire, and you`re holding the coin, not selling no matter what, HODL can also mean Hold On your Dear Life.

Someone has problems with Suprnova and XZC`?

I am mining correct but it doesnt show any transactions?!

In the dashboard everything is ok - whats going on?

I`ve had the same issue with mph and zcoin. Always had lower hashrate and earnings than what wth says. Luckily, i`m done with that coin.

Why is zcoin pool being closed?

167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3x 1080ti or 5x 1070ti? on: December 22, 2017, 09:43:49 PM
I`ve recently had the very same dillemma and opted for 3x1080ti. Better profit in most nvidia friendly algos, better resale value, less space, space for adding more cards later (if you buy 6 pci slot mobo right away), less power draw, etc...
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Profitable these days? on: December 22, 2017, 09:35:19 PM
Nope

I would love to hear your (and other's) opinion about why mining is not profitable, and what you are doing that makes it not profitable.

Let's look at the portion of my farm mining ZEC--of which I have 14 GPUs.

It costs an average of $5.79 per day to run all of them for 24 hours. In the last month I mined 4.18 ZEC. ZEC is currently trading right around $500 on Bittrexx (which is much lower than it was trading yesterday actually).

This means I've spent about $175 in electricity and have $2,090 in ZEC as a result. All in all, depending on fluctuations in BTC (the underlying currency that everything trades against), these 14 GPUs average a daily profit of $50-$85--consistently hovering in the $70s.

Mining can be extremely profitable if you know what you're doing, manage your farm correctly, make sure the pool you're with is getting you what the calculators say your setup should earn, and are adjusting/monitoring everything on a daily basis.

You`re not getting the meaning of that "Nope" obviously lol
And the whole calculus and wall of text...
Well, we are all miners (most) here and what we are especially butthurt about is a hashrate increase. So, any new guy popping up with "is mining profitable" is triggering the response. Also i believe that ppl are already fed up with newbros. But, we were all newbros once, so i feel for this guy. OT, mining can be very profitable, if you know what you are mining (hence the here domesticated phrase "only if you know what you are doing"), and if you don`t expect roi in 3 months. So, do some research (that way you`ll have to blame just yourself for failing, or feel like a boss for winning), not all profitable coins are on What to mine.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 22, 2017, 09:25:15 PM
Hey guys, i'm having a problem, wondering if anybody ran into this
i'm in the process of building my first nvidia rig, i chose 1080ti's, all my rigs until now were amd

for now i have 1x EVGA SC Black Edition, 1x Gigabyte Aorust and 1x MSI Gaming X with 3 more on the way arriving tomorrow (all 1080ti)
asrock h81 pro btc
EVGA 1600W P2
i3 44xx something idk atm, im not next to my rig, also 8gb of ram, idk what brand atm

at the moment i have 3 gpu's hooked up and i can't get drivers to install on all 3, only 2 at the time
and they all work individually, or when hooked up 2 at a time
but the third one doesn't...

i reinstalled windows at least 5 times, drivers, everything, cant get the fu*kin shit to work

Thoughts?

Do all 3 show up in device manager ?
Or one as an unknown vga device?

all 3 are showing as 1080ti, but one of them is showing it's driver is not installed... i reinstalled both windows and the drivers many times already...

Check if all risers are functional. Boot the windows with just one card, reinstall drivers with ddu. After driver reinstall, shut down and add one additional card. Boot up, see if it checks in device manager, shut down again, add third card, power up, see what gives. Also could be some bios setting.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pending Payments from Ahashpool on: December 22, 2017, 04:52:40 PM
If you refer to payout in Bitcoins - let me inform you that the btc blockchain is currently being overloaded because of the chinese pig fucker miners that are blackmailing the whole chain with incredible fees and mine empty blocks if not paid as much as they want.

The state of Slovenia should ban their operations until all miners are reimbursed.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 17, 2017, 10:49:38 PM
can someone post their precise stats for 1080 ti, like how many 1080ti's are you running, your hashrate / card, exactly which coin are you mining, and what is your monthly expected gain at current market price, so we can make an objective calculation on profitability.

Hope it helps. Those results are from 2 cheap ZOTACs (Blower and Mini), PL120%, GPU +150, Memory +700.

For how long you`ve been running it? I have zotac mini and from my experience it would melt in 15 minutes with power level this high.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine today?? on: December 15, 2017, 02:08:08 PM
It would be great if people can report actual profits (preferably USD) along with sol or mh values. I am mining zcash@flypool at the moment and with 6300 sol, I am getting about 0.11 zcash/day (about 50usd/day).

with that hasrate i would be mining bitcoingold!!!!! way more profitable than zcash

So true. Tons of more profitable coins to mine over zcash.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much longer will the 1080Ti be the king? on: December 14, 2017, 02:18:36 AM
King of what? Overpriced video cards?

Lol Cheesy It gives the highest hashrate of the cards available today. In that sence its king.

I think the new VOLTA card from Nvidia will overtake this position. We'll have to wait and see! Pascal is now 1.5 years old, should come something new soon.

It also has the longest ROI of any new card:

The new Volta gaming cards may take over as most overpriced when they come out. Switching to a 12nm process will increase the manufacturing costs on the new Nvidia GPU's.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op3h_bV3ohA

you don't buy a 1080ti to mine zec. Its king of the shitcoin for a reason and the roi is half that if you know what you're doing.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2567521.msg26162475#msg26162475

If you're buying the 1080 Ti thinking it's the most profitable card to mine with, then you DON'T know what you're doing. The 1080 Ti is a good card for noobs that think they can make up for their lack of experience with their wallet LOL.

You`re so full of crap... It is the best card at this time all things considered.

What are you using this winter for heating, wood or coal, or...? I`ll be using lyra2rev2 mate, and equihash on really cold days! When it`s a bit warmer, i`ll switch to lyra2z Wink

We have a natural gas well on our property so heat is free, but what I'd really like to do is install a continuous natural gas generator to provide electricity and heat our property with crypto mining that way. Smiley

Wow, turn it into electricity asap! Free power is every miner`s wet dream.
