161  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum asked for my password but now it doesn't, I don't remember it anyway on: May 28, 2020, 11:19:08 AM
The password set in electrum are to access your local wallet file. The wallet files inside the electrum folder are encrypted with this password. Electrum would not ask for password if you access your wallet by mnemonic phrase or private keys as they can't be password protected. Your wallet also would be accessible on any supported device and wallets with just your mnemonic phrase or private keys.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Probit Exchange IEO Based Bounties Should Join ? on: May 28, 2020, 07:43:38 AM
Most of bounties that are running or ended based on Probit Exchange and Bounties Manger showing High Worth Bounties but when we get tokens and wants to sale on Probit Exchange that price is not as per bounties, should we joined Probit Exchange Based bounties or leave them ?

Whether or not joining them is your personal preference. One benefit of joining an IEO bounty is you are sure to get the tokens and the tokens are sure to be listed in the hosted exchange but they can't guarantee you a price as the price would depend on supply and demand. Not every IEO coin dumps after getting listed. The ones that provides a higher bonus are likely to have more dump. If the dump is due to bounty tokens, it could correct itself if you wait for some period.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Timing to Hodl tokens is very important. on: May 27, 2020, 04:16:10 PM
Long term hold and short term hold are two different strategy but you can always change your strategy according to the situation.
A short term holder would redeem his profit on a small margin while a long term holder would not care for the market fluctuation but would bet on the future of the coin. It also depends on how easy you feel to trade your coin and how much time you can spare to make your orders.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is gambling another good use case for coin to have more demand? on: May 27, 2020, 09:45:37 AM
Can gambling use case help a project to have good value in future? I was following a project called blockstamp and after they introduce their online casino platform in 2019 the coin surge over 1$ from 0.12$ I think, is gambling another way to make a coin demanding? Do you gamble online? E g casinos?

Crypto has been linked to a easy way of gambling. Bitcoin itself is one of the largest gambling coin and there are tokens that are made specifically for gambling. And gambling currencies has a relative success than most other tokens. Blockstamp for example is a gambling focused coin and if they are to receive success, it would be through gambling but it doesn't mean every coin should turn itself as a gambling coin as they are made for different intentions. And not every gambling coin receives similar success.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do anybody know if there is a Best Crypto Project that Failed? on: May 26, 2020, 10:22:15 PM
The best overall project would never fail. But there are projects that's good on paper but has failed to deliver due to incapability of the leading team. Many of the users have already suggested most of them. NEO and Stellar on my opinion were too good to fail. Similarly there were service based project like Gladius and Sia which were pioneer on their genre but couldn't deliver a fully working product.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of the ICO: Has the US SEC Closed the Global Window on New Tokens? on: May 26, 2020, 03:41:31 PM
US has strict regulations for ICO being held on US, by US companies and including US investors. That's why most of the ICOs exclude US investors or at least put that in their terms so that they'd be safe from a lawsuit. Though it has not stopped US companies and US investors from investing. It's a bit sad to see a free country like US is falling behind other open economies of asia and europe.

169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Political Betting Around the World on: May 23, 2020, 05:01:06 PM
Political betting are not much different than sports betting. It may seem like one party is wining over another but things can change pretty rapidly. Survey do give some insights but they often go wrong. Even the exit polls have been misleading. The popular candidate is like a strong team but it's better not to be too sure on it as anything can happen in this game.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hello everyone! Do you still have confidence in altcoin? on: May 23, 2020, 04:57:04 PM
I use altcoins for several things like buying, gambling and trading but I don't consider alts to be as worthy for long term hold as bitcoin. You know bitcoin would not fail you but you can't say the same for alts. I trust Ethereum but it's a utility token with infinite supply. You can't expect to get similar profit from them as bitcoin.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Getting Listed On Exchanges on: May 22, 2020, 05:11:50 AM
There are different policy for different exchanges. The liquidity is brought by buyers and sellers. Even if your coins get listed (paid listing), they don't guarantee you an open buy and sell order and you can have one or both of them empty if not enough users are trading.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $GHOST by McAfee & allegations from Pivx & Chimera devs on: May 22, 2020, 04:41:07 AM
Looked into the content of both of the project. Though ghost has changed some words, everyone would know, it's an exact copy and a case of plagiarism. Privacy based coins have similarities. But copying another project word by word is not a positive reputation for a project.
Specially when it's supported by a so claimed crypto promoter.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Games on: May 22, 2020, 04:18:06 AM
I'm a crash game lover. Crash with it's social aspect is just addictive. Not only you chat with fellow gamblers in real but the results for every players are same but their outcome of bet differs by slight margin. There's no game as entertaining as crash.
Blackjack as operated in most casino are zero skill. Real poker games do have skill factor and are interesting.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel this pressure on physical gambling? on: May 17, 2020, 11:31:20 AM
In physical gambling (whether it's a big casino or just small gambling), do pressure on your opponents or playmates actually happen? Like for example, you only set a limited capital but since your friends still want to play, you will end up using all of your money. Or let's say in a casino, you have used all of your allotted money on gambling but since your opponent is winning and he wants to play more, do you exceed on your limit? Just because you don't want to look like you are afraid, that you don't have enough money already, and that you are losing?

Many times had happened to me, but the good thing playing with my friends are:

1. If you're losing and your friend are winning, he/she can give you some kind of "goodwill" money so that you can extend playing.

2. Conversely, if you're the one winning, you will do the same to your friends

3. If both of you lose, then it's time to go home.

Sometimes you can really turn your luck around and won and give back to your friends, tit-for-tat. This is a unwritten rule between us friends, so I don't know if other physical casino players have this kind of setup with their friends.

It's easier to get up and go when you are losing but when you are winning and you have valid reasons to leave, still you get a weird look from everyone as if you were stealing their money. That is what I hate most while gambling physically. And you need to buy a round of beers on each win. That makes you get nothing even when you win.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Visa applied for Digital Dollar Patent in US on: May 17, 2020, 11:15:51 AM
They could try to go for a stable coin too but their one will have stamp and "back up" by them. They saw how lucrative cryptocurrency is especially with their reputation pretty much guaranteed success. But because they were a big company they have to follow the law with a lot of restrictions.

They are calling it a digital dollar. So, most probably it's going to be a stablecoin pegged to dollar. If VISA be able to make cross border payments with it's own stablecoin, it could save some fees with the banks and provide money with just Forex rates on supported countries. With the resource and structure of VISA, they could be the Ripple killer.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker games that are providing free plays to earn real money on: May 17, 2020, 10:53:07 AM
The main clarification: will there be any problems with the withdrawal of real money from these sites? Has anyone encountered this already?

I have withdrawn from Swcpoker without depositing anything. No questions asked. The minimum payout is also very low. I haven't been able to withdraw from any other sites yet. Maybe ones that have reached the minimum threshold would share their experience with other sites.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: J.K. Rowling, Author Of Harry Potter Is Interested in Bitcoin, Time To Short? on: May 17, 2020, 04:34:41 AM
I'm reading her tweets for the last 24 hours.

And it's like a drama that's full of scenes, you have to check her account and follow all of her tweets about bitcoin.  Tongue

https://twitter.com/jk_rowling

Definitely good PR campaign both for her and BTC. Doesn't even matter if she owns it (ofc she owns it, it's magic money for god's sake)
With 14.6M followers, definitely that's good exposure for bitcoin. It's difficult to know if she has but it looks like she doesn't like it.

Anyway, the drama's done.

She said she doesn't understands it rather than not liking it. You can't like or dislike bitcoin. You can either use it or don't. The more merchants accepts and deals with bitcoin and the more financial services accepts bitcoin deposits, more would be the adoption. There are things to be improved in bitcoin as well. If they are improved, people would keep using it, if they don't something else would replace it.

2. Poker.com - Free tournament twice a day with 25,000 satoshi rewards each.
Poker.com is just sponsoring some other sites with the affiliate link or may be taking payment for sponsoring. Which site in there is paying 25,000 sats and does it need KYC? I think I tried a site other day and found that they have KYC so I thought not to join there.

The large Playnow button on visiting Poker.com leads to Poker.co.ag but they call themselves Poker.com on the site and title. They are bitcoin only gambling site and I haven't seen any suggestive KYC in the site. I have not made an withdrawal from them so can't confirm. But I have made one from SWC without a KYC.
179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Poker games that are providing free plays to earn real money on: May 16, 2020, 04:15:52 PM
For Pokerfans who would like to try their luck and skill without risking their money, these sites do give real money to free entrant of the tournaments.

1. SWCPoker.eu - Free tournament every hour with 1000 satoshi reward. Quarantine special free tournament twice a day with 20,000 satoshis each. And other free tournaments for high Krill users.

2. Poker.com - Free tournament twice a day with 25,000 satoshi rewards each.

If you know any more keep on adding.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin after the year of 2140 on: May 16, 2020, 04:01:01 PM
Have you ever wondered how the future of crypto land will be once all Bitcoin are mined by 2140? By that time, Bitcoin miners will be living off fees. It's expected that Bitcoin's price would be high enough to help sustain miner's operations. Bitcoin could be well worth over $1m by 2140, if all goes well. There will be a lot of demand for altcoins as digital cash, while Bitcoin will be the world's store-of-value asset. Scalability and privacy may no longer be an issue within the Bitcoin blockchain, as developers would've found a way to make the pioneer cryptocurrency useful for the world.

While we still have a very long way to go for this to happen, it's great to imagine how the future of Bitcoin and crypto will be after a century since their inception. I'm curious to know what do you think Bitcoin's future will be after 2140? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

2140 is a long time in future. None of us would be alive at that moment. And it would be quite absurd to think about economics at that time.
If I were to imagine, economy would be a whole different from what we have today. The society and the systems would too be different.
Imagine 1900s and where we are now. Similar would be the difference now and in 2140. And I don't think bitcoin would be perceived and trades as it is at that date. We may be keeping the coins with us as an antique but I don't think we would be trading them with value.
