161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does any bank accept Bitcoin? on: April 10, 2017, 09:30:25 PM
There are no banks who accept bitcoin, but with the majority of banks you can withdraw money to an exchange and buy bitcoin. Sad
Situation at germany: Fidor, Munich located bank once did that. They had for some strange reasoning Ripple in between their payment ways offered, but not Bitcoin.
Due to some trouble with the exchange site partnering and perhaps lack of revenue from this channel now slowly closing down operations. Got my account cancelled.
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 10, 2017, 03:05:13 PM
gold underpins lots of electronics and aerospace parts among other things. i still have absolutely no desire to own any.
why isn't this roach guy on a precious metal forum instead?
because people that invest in precious metals are too close minded to have any interesting discussion
and I doubt that there is a precious metal forum with any movement
Oh I think the goldbugs are quite on the right track. Maybe missing out on tech development a bit, but still on the right track. Momentum of history, first mover advantage of sorts.
163  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what do you know about Recep Tayyip Erdoğan? on: April 10, 2017, 03:03:39 PM
Hayır.

He's just eager to grasp the power. Will not do anything good to his country. But people are stupid, will grant him total powers free to abuse. They will only understand years later watching the destruction.
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It is good to invest in mining hardware or in btc stocks? on: April 10, 2017, 02:59:30 PM
If you have more money you can buy What is an ASIC Bitcoin Miner like this: https://bitcoinworldwide.com/mining/hardware/antminer-r4/
In financials "stocks" are debt based. Bitcoins are "debtless".

About the mining that depends upon your living conditions. Using electricity to heat a homing can pay of if the "heater" mines Bitcoins. In such a condition even some old secondhand equipment makes sense.
If your situation differs, and your electricity costs can't compete you might have a chance in renting hashrate abroad. That's a difficult market, some providers are just ponzi scamms.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0 would be the right forum part to discuss legit offers.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: April 10, 2017, 01:34:42 PM
Do not spread the lie that no body knows who Satoshi is. There are more than 40 Bitcoin community leaders knows who invented Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. So, they kept it secret for their secret interest. Satoshi Nakamoto is a Japanese pseudonym.  The man who invented Bitcoin and Blockchain, he chose to launch the Bitcoin Project in this pseudonym because it was needed to protect the Bitcoin Project from annihilation. Satoshi created the first Bitcoin Forum and created numerous monikers to propagate the Bitcoin Forum. The Cypherpunks gathered together and taken over Satoshi's Bitcoin Project and created the Bitcoin Market. Satoshi Nakamoto the inventor of Bitcoin and Blockchain is a single person but he is not alone.
Things like that touch the surface inevitably. May take three decades like publishing noforn secret documents.
However, maybe Wikileaks will some day publish the identity.

White Phosphorus ammunition being used by Coalition in Raqqa Province of Syria
3 apr
Not really nice stuff but not toxic on a compareable level. That Sarin mentioned can poison an area for a prolonged time period.
If the official information about disarmament of chemical weapon supply was of any good there should not be anything "fresh" available in the regionanymore. Shelf live. Hastily assembled toxics bear an even shorter shelf live.

Years back Iraq troops got assaulted with overlydue substances that failed to assembly before impact (binary weapon) but still been a huuge takeback on disarmamend controls. If western society does not manage to get that poisonous djin back into the bottle we are pretty much bummed.
167  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia accused of complicity in Syria war crime on: April 10, 2017, 01:12:41 AM
Do they have proof that the Sarin gas really belongs to the Government Forces rather than ISIS, mind you that ISIS got control of some millitary bases and all the weapons in them. I think the USA are becoming hypocrites in all these things seeing that they were funding ISIS and they committed all those atrocities.
Google "Timber Sycamore" will let you find some rather official info regarding the weapons supply that got sent into the region. Which was an epic messup, without any doubts.
But Sarin isn't exactly part of the game. If ISIS got a hold on stuff like that they would have had to overun a serious gov fortress which ain't easy nor would have happened unrecognized by world public eyes.
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 10, 2017, 01:00:55 AM
If you stay at these levels this month, I think there may be a rise in next May. But I think if I tell it from my own perspective, it can not protect this level much. It seems like we can see levels like $ 900 in a short while.
Next twelve days 1100$ that's a lower support line ranging back almost 180 days ago. 800$ would rediscover a support line that began 9/2015 but got invalid around 10/17/16 a date when something fundamentally changed.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girl,Tokyo,72hrs--Bitcoin Survive Challenge on: April 07, 2017, 11:49:21 PM
Yea, we also had a guy who paid $150 for a beer at a local pub when he got a bit tipsy and there will be people who would exploit this. This is no different for any other currency, because you can do the same with cash or credit cards. What you can do, is to use a separate wallet for "social" nights.... Just transfer enough for the night before you go out.
This will prevent scrupulous bar men to clear your Bitcoin balance.  Roll Eyes
BitKan App could contain some reference pricings in a database and popup an alert if figures don't fit. That would be the modern way to do. Easy on beer.
But..
I would not tell any App anything about what I am trying to buy or rent (Kimonos are out of question here) and many users might feel similar concerns regarding their privacy.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: April 07, 2017, 11:40:48 PM
I think no and yes, Paypal is a really popular for most of the people and almost all stores accept payments from paypal even payment from buying bitcoins. You can connect your paypal account to your Credit Card but in bitcoin wallet, there are only some wallets that has these feature. Paypal use real money and some users of bitcoin, still convert their bitcoins into real money.

People go for PayPal because of its convenience, high level of acceptance, and the buyer protection feature. It's very difficult for Bitcoin to gain ground in its current form. Simply having larger blocks won't do much as more is needed. In order to make Bitcoin a decent PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, etc, competitor, it needs Lightning Network. That's how you push Bitcoin into mass adoption.

PayPal ain't no currency. Can't be stressed enuf. A PayPal account gets ballanced in dollars. They are just a company providing a product, beeing hinged onto classical payment channels. Each and every Bitcoin startup could offer the service, just adding BTC along bank wire to fund the accounts.
That would work on current state of things, blockchain as a settlement layer. Nor bigger blocks or LN would expand any possibilities that allready do exist.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 07, 2017, 04:03:14 PM
At least if the Wang Chun finished to troll us about the SegWit signalling on the litecoin.

More people are panic caused by wang's tweet.

Wang Chun is a childish trolling right now, but, his tweet gives massive impacts for the litecoin market and that's really sad. WTF LTC is dying right now caused by Wang Chun.
Neither twitter nor bitcointalk are any good advisory for hasty tradings. On most of the pumpgroup twitter activities your best bet even is trading the opposite direction of their anouncement.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have u ever received BTC accidentally or randomly? on: April 07, 2017, 04:00:58 PM
No i never recieved btc accidentally or randomly. if i recieved btc by accident well i would be more glad. But i feel sorry for the people who send accidently there btc to other people because i experience that ! I accidentally sent in the wrong address. But whem the the time pass i feel alright and i learned my lesson.
How wrong? There's a chance that a typo adress might have been invalid, so transfer did not took place at all.
The randomness can be outruled, there are more adresses than atoms on earth literally.
173  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teens suspended from school for posing with air soft rifles on Facebook at home on: April 06, 2017, 11:47:03 PM
Isn't it required by law that "fake" guns have orange end of the barrel? That's the lw as much as I know and I'm not even american. :/

to be honest, I wouldn't tell that they were fake without reading the text.

I was thinking this too. After that kid got shot semi recently pointing the airsoft at the cop, I thought it was a legal requirement, in fact, for airsoft and pellet guns (even paintball guns). But, these could be pre regulation, they would still be airsoft guns even without the warning tips. Hell, if they were actual guns, you can still do this. They have a right to pose with non illegally owned fire arms.

yeah, this situation is pretty stupid in my opinion, they can be posing with whatever they want and even if these guns are real I don't think it should be that big a deal tbh... but from the legal side, fake guns should be painted with orange tops, because If I was in the situation where someone would point a fake gun at me being realistic like the one these two are holding, I'd defend myself too. :/

If a cop shoots a kid is not only about the color of the barrel. They will recognize the other details first, like face color.
174  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-05]Bitfinex Reimburses Hacked Customers in Full on: April 06, 2017, 11:39:13 PM
Well, there would be some customers who sold their Bitfinex tokens, because they needed money urgently. They will still be unhappy with Bitfinex. This is a good move, but things cannot go back to normal.
Which would have reduced their losses from 36% down onto half of that, since these tokens where traded at a half dollar level for some while.
The trouble lures if Bitfinex could get hacked again. And again. Are they secure at all?
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ASICBOOST Aftermath: What Now Must Be Done? on: April 06, 2017, 06:19:19 PM
Can't the exploit be fixed without Segwit getting activated?
This can be taken care of in the next upgrade, without getting into the Segwit vs BU debate.
Reasonable, since these are really three different things. A mining exploit is not exactly the same as the current war.
176  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What short lived or lesser known ASICs are worth noting? on: April 05, 2017, 03:53:16 PM
You can find a reasonable list of ASICs on the Wiki.  Generally people tend to go for ASICs by Bitmain (Antminers), because they are generally regarded as the best, but you could look around at different specs and prices for you.

"reasonable" would imply completeness. There are now specialized chips in existance that are targetting pure altcoin algos. philipma1957 made a point about changing landscapes. I would guess specialized chips are always outperforming generalized ones, just a feeling from a nontechnician. But the algos are a wide variety nowadays.

FPGA and ASIC are used in the same breath by folks who have no idea what they are talking about...  Roll Eyes A FPGA and ASIC are 2 very different things.

One renowned pool operator openly tried to make me believe those are the same. Even nontechnicians are capable of googling some facts. That left me flabbergasted about honesty in the scene.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Features Are Still True? on: April 05, 2017, 09:34:33 AM
You can send money anonymously halfway around the world for free in the blink of an eye.
Yes you can send money anonymously anywhere in the world but not for free, this was not even true during starting phase we have to pay small miners fee to get confirmation on our transaction.

Other than this all statements are still true.

The fees are an itch indeed. I'm mostly using lowest fees possible, adding some patience.

BitCoin

Capital "C" changed. Just Bitcoin.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying the new Bitcoin ATM near my house on: April 05, 2017, 09:31:14 AM
Looks like the usual, which will not cut it.

Extortionist rates of course, than looking further you see the more complex technology capable of recognizing paper bills. But only slurping them in.
Why can't any ATM pay out money for heaven's sake? So Bitcoin keeps looking like some one way street, seriously?

These sorts of ATMs do more harm than any good.
179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 05, 2017, 06:05:39 AM
Kraken showing weakest tendencies during last day. That's a small marker where the support is strongest at the moment, or not since Kraken is mostly the EUR gateway into BTC. You can watch BTCe to get a sense of RUB interests.
"Reading" fakevolume CNY sites I have given up on.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin won’t hardfork like Ethereum on: April 05, 2017, 06:02:51 AM
And what do you think the market will decide? People will be harassing the exchanges to credit them their fork coins and allow trading of them.

People stand to make a percentage of additional money when they get credited both forks coins as the sum of their value will likely be higher than the preforked bitcoin.

According to http://xtnodes.com/#all_nodes charts where one can see a clear majority for core nodes being run, I got the impression that all other node types are not distributed at all but merely in the hands of some single entities.
That's where the people are with their hearts.

Now watching the craze on Bitfinex or Hitbtc regarding split token exchanges ... you are right, that's where their money is. Less emotional habits developing.
I have no doubt the masses of people will rush into straigt direction to biggest revenue promises, in a bee line. Whoever telling them the biggest riches will win.
