See this thread --- all transactions below 5430 satoshis will start failing when this code gets deployed. So your faucet is useless.

Yes I have heard, when that goes into effect I will raise the amount I give out accordingly. Thanks.

whats the point ?
how does one create a faucnet?
Im new so just asking

Faucets are coded in a PHP and MYSQL format. They are ways to get people who are interested in Bitcoins started with small amounts.

I like the newbie forums though. If I am ever to break free I would still come here often.
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: May 08, 2013, 03:16:43 PM
Almost all of the alt-coins are there are going to be a waste of time.  They're being created to take advantage of people who get super excited about different things and then get pumped and dumped.

Be careful about wasting time with too many alt coins.

I bet thats the kind of thinking many had about Bitcoins in the beginning but look where it is now. I am not bashing you in anyway, I just feel like qualifying your statement. People should really research what their going into because maybe one of the Alt-coins will have a boom like BTC.

btcfaucet.blogspot.ca added to the list.

0.00000001 BTC payout.

Thank you so much!!

De nada.

And I hope you put a reasonable portion of the money you make off all those ads and things into larger payouts of BTC for users of your faucet.

Most definitely. I am still looking for a decent pay per impression advertising network to increase the payout though. All I got is a-ads and their rate is really bad. I am waiting for operation fabulous to accept my website and in the soon future to apply to google adsense. If all goes well I will keep on increasing the payout.

What does it mean when you see a public note in your blockchain info https://blockchain.info/address/16CcNWYZjfYYNQFEFCXtxvzWmyYKFg4hyK

Cause my website's wallet has this note for http://www.btcfaucet.blogspot.com not the one just added to list http://www.btcfaucet.blogspot.ca

but they look the same Huh

Is this some form of wallet tags

Thanks for the info Grin

That is indeed my website. I don't know why Portnoy used .ca at the end, I think it has something to do with where he is located in the world. The public note is something that the sender can right so that the receiver knows who sent him the BTC. Enjoy the satoshi btw Wink

Useless, except for testing purpose (like first try with a wallet or Coin Control)
You will not be able to send these Satoshi's any time soon.

Thanks for the advice, but I have already sent out satoshis two nights in a row without a problem.

Yep I sent it out last night.

Confirmed payout of 0.00000001 BTC.

I guess its a good thing Bitcoin doesn't yet go to more than 8 decimal places.    Roll Eyes

Will add it to the list later today.

Also confirmed that Freebtc4all is still paying out... ten times what the above site is paying out: 0.0000001 BTC   Shocked

 Cheesy

Thanks for adding Smiley. Hopefully by the end of this week I will increase it to 10 Satoshis as well.
171  Other / Beginners & Help / I Created my own BTC Faucet! on: May 07, 2013, 04:19:52 PM
It is a daily faucet that gives 1 Satoshi every 24 hours. The faucet is found here: http://www.btcfaucet.blogspot.com

Just made a faucet, wondering if you can add mine to the list. It pays out once a day at 1 ubtc an address...

Hmm, in many places it says things like this, "don't forget to donate so we can finally open our Faucet!"

And what is with the faucet way down near the bottom of the page with this text:
"Successful request! You'll receive our payment in less than 24h."

Why does it say that when an address hasn't even been input into it yet?  And when I put an address into it and click the "get bitcoins!" button nothing happens.

I used the input form near the top so I will see if I get a payout... but it doesn't seem like you will be giving out much or for very long if you are relying on donations to fund your faucet...

Sorry, the one at the bottom was a test dummy that I made, I will be shortly deleting that. The top one gives out a small amount, about 1 ubtc, and I only needed donations to keep me going. I now have enough to give and stay stable for awhile with the help of some ads. I give out BTC from the top faucet manually, confirming each entry, at night, CST. No worries about the exploitation of the system.

Thanks for the explanation.

No problem, I sent out my first payouts last night and they have been confirmed.
Much thanks if you can add me to the list.
