161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia 1060 vs 1070 vs 1080 vs 1080Ti on: May 06, 2018, 03:22:07 AM
1080 better

I agree.. 1080 better.. at current prices.. half the price of the 1080ti.. and much more then half the hash rate.. im about to get some Smiley

My opinion is that the 1080 is a bad decision, especially if you can get the 1080ti for only an additional few hundred bucks. The 1080ti has better hashrate for density and has the best power efficiency ratios. Not to mention that it has more resale value in the long run.

I highly recommend that you do the math first.

162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum in 2018 ? on: May 06, 2018, 02:22:19 AM
Electroneum is a sham. They are one of the biggest disappointments last year because they screwed over ICO investors by launching the coin but not giving access to wallets even though they promised otherwise.

Their development team is a complete amateur group who can't even launch a website without expecting traffic. They are complete amateurs and have wasted the $40 million dollars worth of ICO funding they received. They will never be worth much.

Sell all your electroneum while you can.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining - Need help on: May 06, 2018, 01:26:29 AM
You can mine thought nicehash( https://www.nicehash.com ) and the program will mine with the best algorithm at any time and you'll be payed with bitcoin
I would not recommend using nicehash to mine altcoins. If you're already doing it stop while you can.

They have high withdrawal fees and you'll basically just mine for them. Use a proper poll, wallet and mine directly to it using mining software you can find here.

I second this. In fact, don't use any AUTO-CONVERT mining software. They will most likely always charge you extra for providing the service convenience of the conversion. Mine the coin directly by checking its algo. If a coin has an Ethash algo or Equihash algo then simply search google: "Equihash miner GPU"
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS/ETH short term on: May 04, 2018, 11:16:26 AM
In my opinion buying EOS doesn't make much sense to do right now. Ethereum, on the other hand, would probably a good buy since it's already on the way up.

But more than that, ETH is a much more solid project in terms of use case, team, and of course adoption (i mean cmon it's #2 in terms of coin market cap for a reason).
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we heading for full recovery now? on: May 04, 2018, 10:47:21 AM
There've been some pumps and dumps, but somehow this last rise less than a week ago felt different to me. The prices went up about 20% without going down. The market seems to be surrounded by great news about serious companies talking about adopting blockchain. For now the situation is stable and if we gradually see the market going 20% up every week or two, it would be just right. What do you think? Is this low price nightmare close to being over? Do you still expect full recovery this summer?

Nightmare? My friend this is what i call a dream. I've earned so much with cryptocurrencies that it's allowed me a more comfortable and privileged lifestyle. Without crypto I would be saving every penny i spend. I believe we are still in the early stages and there is much more money to be had.

Just hodl strong and only cashout when you really need to. If all of us as a community think this way then anyone reading this today will probably rich in a few years time.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini - GPU mining killed ? on: May 04, 2018, 09:32:39 AM
-snip-

No, GPU mining is not killed.  This is the same thing we have seen with bitcoin and every other coin and every other algorithm that gets an ASIC or FPGA for it.  There are just too many reasons for GPU mining to carry-on as always.

For one thing, GPUs are so attainable and prevalent.  Gamers can mine and miners can mine and it's all good.  Some day people will get over it and just realize that ASIC and FPGA are just part of the cyrptocurrency ecosystem that was built by GPUs which have always been and will continue to be the FOUNDATION!

Super agree with you.

As a GPU miner, ASICs expansion more like a new challenge to do more. Just remember, thousands of coins out there, even every algorithm has a lot of coins and almost every days we found a new thing, regeneration keeps going each time. Just stay focus and keep going.

That is not the goal of crypto. Bitcoin was designed to be decentralized and distribute power to the masses. There are just too many barriers to entry for regular people to be using ASICs in their homes. It sounds like you've given up but i for one don't see why developers can't tweak algorithms and develop true ASIC resistance. Monero just should us that it is possible. Anyone else not doing it should have a reasonable explanation.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum: The second boom? Now approaching $800 with 10% 24 hour gains on: May 04, 2018, 03:12:45 AM
Thank you for your very informative charts. Seems like cryptocoincharts would be a good source for such things.

Going back to the topic, i agree that we may be seeing the second boom of Ethereum very soon. Ethereum has been oversold for far too long and it should now correct its way up to $1500++. I speculate it should reach $1500 within 1 or 2 months.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin are prefer for time term hold? on: May 03, 2018, 02:17:03 PM
i need to some advice for long term holding coin

Which coin are prefer for time term hold?

Do your own research and use google. Read whitepapers. Simply asking here on the forums won't get you much far and you'll end up losing money.

If you are looking for a place to start, i would suggest you read up on Ethereum and see why so many people trust and invest so much money into it.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 video cards installed affects network ? on: May 03, 2018, 12:18:07 PM
Looks like you are run out on your PCIE Lanes, have you tried disabling other on board perf like USB and sounds thru motherboard Bios?

Same thoughts as this guy. Here is a step-by-step of what you need be doing:

1. reboot computer.
2. open BIOS settings.
3. go to PCIE configuration
4. disable HD audio, and USB functionality
5. save and restart computer
6. shutdown
7. install GPUs
8. boot computer
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need to double 4,000 USD in 2 weeks on: May 03, 2018, 12:03:58 PM
You could try and do margin trading and leverage whatever you have right now. Given the current volatility you could make that amount in 2 weeks but you could also lose everything you own before anything else happens.

As usual, caveat. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. I wish you good luck!
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 2500 on: May 03, 2018, 11:44:55 AM
Here is another prediction:

Alexis Ohanian, a co-founder of Reddit, said that he predicts the price of Ethereum (ETH) will reach $15,000 in 2018, Fortune reports May 2.

Ohanian, who now works full-time at a venture capital (VC) firm Initialized Capital, said in an interview, “At the end of the year, Bitcoin will be at $20,000. And Ethereum will be at $15,000. Great, now people can call me out if I’m wrong.” He said that he’s bullish on ETH because “people are actually building on it.”

Read more at: https://cointelegraph.com/news/reddit-co-founder-says-ethereum-price-will-reach-15000-this-year

This is exactly why i am also so bullish on Ethereum. It could even overtake bitcoin because of it's immense value to enterprise businesses.

I'm pretty sure that not only reddit or this venture capital is also banking on Ethereum. Lots of other companies are counting on Ethereum. When people realize this, all Ethereum holders will surely be well rewarded simply for holding.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Shared Ideas of Ways to Manage Heat From Mining in a Home or Warehouse on: May 03, 2018, 01:50:51 AM
Currently what I have at my place:

12 x EVGA NVIDIA 1070 Ti FTW2
52 x EVGA NVIDIA 1080 Ti FTW3
12 x XFX R9 390
36 x Sapphire R9 Fury
24 x R9 380
89 x RX 480
7 x RX 580
TOTAL OF 232 x GPU's at my place.

Those RX 480s are pretty much the dream GPUs. How long have you been mining for? Congratulations you probably don't have to work a regular job for the rest of your life by now eh.

I would also love to know why you are still mining with power hungry R9 Furys. Is electricity so cheap at your location that they still give you a decent profit (for all the risk vs resale value)?
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty campaign - waste of time or great passive income? on: May 02, 2018, 03:08:36 PM
It all greatly depends on the bounty campaigns that you pick. Some bounties turn out to be scams, some turn out to payout but be worthless, and only a few rare ones will be really profitable. There is no 100% method for picking the right bounty but the ff. guidelines usually help:

1. Pick bounties that are managed by higher ranking forum members
2. Pick bounties that have a good-looking / well-thought-of ANN thread
3. Pick bounties that pay in both BTC and tokens
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Easy way to get listed in an exchange? on: May 02, 2018, 10:17:28 AM
Most of the posts here refer to how you need to pay a "hefty" listing fee or how you have to get the most votes on the exchange's polls. However, one should also consider that you need to have a good coin.

By good coin i mean you actually have something that is innovative and has a real world use. There are so many coins out there today but most of them are called shitcoin because they do nothing at all except fork code from existing blockchains. Until you have a good coin with a real purpose there isn't much legitimate sense to get listed on an exchange.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Am I in over my head? on: May 02, 2018, 08:25:43 AM
It sounds believable. Restaurant businesses are very tough and they are difficult to make a profit in and they usually don't go for much when they are sold to another party. Mostly it's the equipment which has most of the value in a restaurant business.

The issue here is that most likely this guy doesn't know what difficulty is and he most likely thinks if he makes $2.5k a month he thinks he will net that every month. Which is not the case.

It probably still depends on the type of restaurant business. If you have a well managed restaurant it's pretty much smooth cruising and all you have to do is watch your people (gotta make sure nobody is slacking off and endagering customers with unsanitary food handling). I've found that well-placed CCTVs do the job well.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchanges are you mostly trusted? on: May 02, 2018, 08:15:56 AM
I use mostly Bittrex because so far never faced any issues and their fees also not that high.

But the only thing you need to know is don't start trading until your account is fully verified even though they say you can trade without verifying small amount but based on my experience they may stop your withdrawals and ask you to verify your account any time. So instead of facing that situation you better first verify your account and start your trading.

Also, you should know by now that we shouldn't keep our coins in any exchange for a long time. If you don't have plans to sell your coins immediately then better withdraw those coins to your personal wallets.

I use Bittrex as well because they have a very simple user interface and seem to have a decent volume. Never had a problem with not being fully verified though. I've been trading on bittrex for 6 months now and not once have my wallets or coins been frozen.

Additionally, i'm looking to start more trading on KuCoin. Volume is increasing daily and the development team seems to be very active.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum on: May 02, 2018, 08:00:12 AM
What is your prediction for ethereum by the end of 2018?
Analyst predicts ethereum price will a record of $2500 in 2018.

Speaking as a software developer myself, i can see that Ethereum has so much potential that i'm willing to be that it will reach more than $2500 by the end of 2018.

Anyone care to take me on this? Just a small little bet probably, not much, but enough to buy a beer, or two..
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Questions about GPU mining (1 about ASIC) on: May 02, 2018, 07:57:36 AM
4. if i was to make a 1070 rig how many cars should i start off with

I would stay the minimum to start with would be at least three (3) 1070 GPUs. If you buy just one or two your profits would be less because your CPU and motherboard would simply eat up your mining profits (because they also consume power, more if you are a newbie and don't have the right hardware). By at least having 3 you are somewhat guaranteed that your revenue doesn't just balance out with the electricity cost.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 2500 on: May 02, 2018, 07:24:48 AM
by the end of the year Ethereum will reach $ 2500 and will continue to grow

Ethereum is a rapidly developing platform that opens the use of crypto to the real world.

Just take a look at how Ethereum has been used by ICOs. This is just the initial wave of support. Very soon it will be used in real decentralized applications that will have an impact on almost every industry in our world. $2500 is a far cry from Ethereum's true potential value.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: look for a list of windows 10 service can be disabled for mining on: May 01, 2018, 11:54:27 PM
i heard that someone can lower the power consumption to 720w for 6 x rx570 at 165mhs.

how they do that?

By doing BIOS mods and correct overclocking settings.

Basically you simply do the BIOS mod first using the best timing straps (varies depending on your GPU) then you find the best overclock settings by gradually decreasing core voltage while increasing core and memory clock speeds.
