162  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Gamer Streamer to Gambling Streamer? on: December 25, 2023, 12:13:26 PM

163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 25, 2023, 12:03:57 PM
In the first place, I can't make gambling a full-time job, to be honest. Think before you win really big here; it will take a lot of money to make it happen if you are unlucky. It would be fine if you were sure that you would win every day.

As others have said in this section, the more a gambler plays for a long time and often at the casino, the higher the chances of the gambler becoming addicted. And this will be a big problem later, and it will be difficult to recover in this situation.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 11:53:48 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

According to the attendant, if you refer to this as a regular customer, that means that what you say "mentally unstable" is no longer appropriate, as if he plays normally and still knows what he is doing, because he can still gamble well.

As long as it's normal to play gambling, there's no problem there; maybe you just said that it's because of his physical condition, appearance, and clothes. I don't think it's right.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think Bitcoin ETF will be approved? on: December 22, 2023, 05:40:06 AM
Let this month pass and move on to January 2024. It seems that there will be approvals that might happen by that month prior to halving. But that's just a guess and it's still SEC that's going to decide whether to approve any of them or none. But with news like this[1], we've got some positive movement there.
[1] SEC takes new meetings with BlackRock, Grayscale as high-level Bitcoin ETF talks continue

It seems that in times like this, those of us who are waiting and expecting the approval they will get in Blackrock and Grayscale should hold our breath. When this happens, most of the community holders will see who will have the light for their crypto holdings, be it bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

So for sure, this main event of January 10 is just coming next year. There will be a massive spike in the price value of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency assets in the market as well.
166  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: December 22, 2023, 05:27:35 AM

167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: December 22, 2023, 05:04:00 AM
Well, I say... let them burn their money, if they are doing this to sabotage Bitcoin. Let the miners do their thing and let the developers analyze this threat and implement their counter measures.

We should never forget that Bitcoin is still experimental ... we still need to figure out if the tx fees will be enough to reward the miners.. once the Block reward falls away.

It is just part of the evolution of this technology and ALL other tokens would have collapsed under an attack like this.... Bitcoin is still standing.  Wink

Is Bitcoin still experimental after 13 years of existence in this field of business? What do you mean by this? A lot of money has been made here, and a lot of big companies have also invested, but I still can't see that it is still in the experiment with the value it has now.

It's just that the only thing that's not really okay is that the requested fee is inhumane and a lot of pain in the pocket to actually conduct a transaction here. If the developers would just fix this thing in the ordinals, there wouldn't be such a problem.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think Bitcoin ETF will be approved? on: December 21, 2023, 03:05:38 PM
Rumors are circulating that it will be approved before Jan 10th or so. I don’t think it will be approved in December unless it’s actually approved tomorrow, I don’t even think it would get approved on a Friday because it’s right before the holidays.

And usually nothing gets done between the week of Christmas and New Years. Markets are flat, because people are with family.

So if it doesn’t get approved tomorrow then most likely Jan 10Th or so.

I saw a video on YouTube where an influencer said that Blackrock might have been approved, but it's just a rumor; there's no certainty yet. I don't seem to see Blackrock reacting to this. The rumors about Blackrock could be true.

And there are also many who are hoping that Blackrock will actually be approved in the ETF, and when that is confirmed, it will be very good news for those of us who have Bitcoin holdings, to be honest. I'm also expecting Blackrock to be approved.
169  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Tutoryal]: Paano gamitin ang Viabtc transaction accelerator on: December 21, 2023, 02:55:52 PM

Kasi kapag saktong 00:00 to 0:03 medyo late na yan.

170  Economy / Gambling / Re: The most trusted casinos on BTalk on: December 21, 2023, 02:42:19 PM
The case which happened to the stake user is definitely the fault of the user and not stake, so I am going to disagree with you when you say it's the fault of both sides.

Stake have done their best in providing good security features for their users, Stake still can not be the one to turn on those security features for the user, a user is solely responsible for turning on any of the security features he or she feels he or she needs, and leave the ones he or she thinks is irrelevant to him or her, if a user having good amount of money on his or her stake account doesn't find it needful to turn on 2fa for the safety of their funds, then whatever happens that leads to the user losing those funds, that is clearly his or her fault and not the fault of the Casino.
It's true that the gambler messed up by not enabling 2FA which would saved him from this mess, but it's also true that he wouldn't have to go through this ordeal if Stake's security stopped the hacker in the first place.

The fact is that a Stake account got hacked despite the site being one of the top gambling sites these days which is embarassing to say the least.

I play gambling here in the crypto industry, but I have never activated 2FA on casino platforms. Also, I don't have an account so far in Stakes, though as far as I know, it has 2FA, and besides that, Livecasino also has 2FA.

Maybe I will only do 2FA when I am required to activate 2FA to secure the account I have on the casino platform. That's the purpose of 2FA in a casino, so that you can't be hacked by exploitative people.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 21, 2023, 02:27:28 PM
When someone experiences loneliness they usually do what they usually do to entertain themselves who are lonely and if they are gamblers then they will gamble, for those who like to exercise then they will do sports activities, and if they usually play online games they will play online game with friends.
For a gambler, when they are lonely they will still do that even though there are other alternatives to relieve their boredom. This all depends on their attitude who wants to avoid gambling when they are lonely and do other gambling activities. If they have a bad experience in gambling, they should be able to realize it and immediately avoid it because it will cause a repetition of the bad experiences they have gone through, especially if they have already gambled with borrowed money which ultimately makes things difficult for themselves.

There are lots of alternatives to do if they are lonely, it depends on each individual what they want to do, but the most important thing is to avoid gambling when you are lonely because it can cause you to not be able to control yourself.
Lonely people will try to entertain themselves by doing activities they like. Even though they are alone, they can still enjoy their alone time, but some people use their time to gamble so this is what makes them addicted to gambling because they don't have other activities that can keep them away from gambling. It would be better if they did sports activities because it can make their bodies healthy, and they would have a good mindset to avoid the desire to gamble. However, if they are alone, there is a possibility of gambling because their loneliness makes them feel very bored. It will go back to each gambler or person who is in solitude about how they can overcome their solitude and not return to gambling if they have gambled before or in their past.

By doing various kinds of activities, people will not feel lonely, especially if they can do activities that connect with others. This will help them communicate with other people so that something will be created from this activity or there will even be cooperation between them. This will allow people who feel lonely never to feel lonely again because they have other activities.

That's how we are, aren't we? When we're alone in life, we'll find a way to escape, and gambling is one of those ways. Sometimes gambling is not only for fun but, of course, also to have fun and forget for a while the problem they are facing, if any.

If you are shy and don't talk to others, chances are high that you will fall into a gambling addiction, especially if it gives you comfort every time you play in a casino.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: December 21, 2023, 02:16:57 PM
Everybody has a story to tell when it comes to gambling because it has had a way to affect or increase our financial status in one way or the other.Every beginner who wants to begin their gambling journey must know some good things and some bad things about gambling,in that way, they won't suffer loss the way most People suffered, that is why it is always good to follow topics that is related to gambling to know when to gamble and when not to.

A beginner should always know that gambling is risky, and when putting your money into it,you must be able to make up your mind that the money might return or might not return, there is no guarantee of a steady income, because the game is all about you losing or gaining.

You are right on this point; a gambler should know the casino he is entering if he even thinks of gambling. It's hard to walk into a casino and, at the end, suddenly regret why you gambled. If you are a newbie in this industry, don't be in a hurry to immediately put a large amount of money into a casino.

It's good to start with a small amount and, of course, feel or observe the casino you will enter here in the crypto gambling business.

Even when I never regretted the decision to gamble here in crypto gambling, Yes, let's say that it's true what others say: that the gambling place is full of money. It's okay, because I just want to pass the time and have fun.

So, until now, I've been doing this. And so far, the results are good, and it doesn't lead me to have an addiction to destroy my character; no scene like this happens to me.
175  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: December 20, 2023, 05:01:04 PM
Earning money requires talent.  You can earn money by selling talent without your mentioned topics.  If you are highly educated, you can earn money by working in any organization. It is not possible to earn money by sitting. To earn money, you must do some work.  Money is not possible without skill.  A cobbler or washerman also earns money by selling their labour.

In this era, that's how the battle is today: what skills or talent are we going to use to get profit? So the knowledge part is why we get profit. Without knowledge, you will not make any profit.

Even a bad person can make an illegal way to get profit; the method used is not good and can end up ruining him. So, that means that for us to earn, we need to have the right knowledge of the talent or skills that we have in ourselves.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: December 20, 2023, 04:47:31 PM
In this era, there are many types of insurance. We have health insurance, auto insurance, disability assurance, renter insurance, life insurance, travel insurance, and gadget insurance. These are just a few that we have in this era.

But there are many other types of insurance that I have not mentioned. But most people, especially the poor ones, do not pay much attention because they prioritize doing the important things for their respective families.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Used cars and real estate market very volatile and a lot people will fomo in on: December 20, 2023, 04:31:56 PM
I don't know which side the used cars and the real estate became volatile. My understanding and knowledge is that if the value of a brand new car decreases over time, what about used cars, they are even lower and we do not yet know how many problems there are with secondhand cars.

But it's the opposite of real estate, where as time passes, its value increases. So, it means that it is better to use investment in real estate at any time and depending on the place you will buy real estate.
178  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: December 20, 2023, 04:10:55 PM
Because there aren't many options for healthcare and life expectancy is declining globally, I find the idea objectionable. With the retirement age being raised to 64, some people who have worked and paid into the system for many years may not live long enough to get benefits. Thus, extending work hours shouldn't be required; instead, people should do it if they feel well enough to do so. Recreational pursuits, travel, time with the grandchildren are all intended to be part of retirement. They cannot appreciate life if they are broken down and in anguish.
I also think that it would be much better for someone who has turned 60. to have the option of whether to take retirement or choose to continue working for an additional few years as agreed. So that people who have the desire to retire at the age of 60 will not feel disappointed if there are options they can choose. and those wishing to remain employed will also not be disappointed as there are options for extensions of employment. and I heard there is a system like this in my country. what is referred to as young retirement or early retirement, namely retirement before entering retirement age. but they still have pension benefits. it's just not as big as when they retire at the retirement age limit.

In my opinion, it all depends on each person. because people's pleasures are different in nature, for example someone who is 60 years old and he does not have a family or only lives alone, in my opinion, a person like this will prefer to continue working because of his situation who does not have a family and the friends who are in his workplace are his family so maybe I he will continue to work even though he is 60 years old.
And there are those who choose to retire at the age of 60, because they have a family and realize that their old age must be spent with their family because their pleasure is in their family, and their family is the most valuable treasure in life.
So everything has its own portion.

There are many people in our country who, after their retirement, are still working because of the hardships of life here. Even if they don't want to retire from work, there is nothing they can do because there is a limit to the age at which they can work. There are others who, even though they don't want to work anymore, are still obliged despite their old age.

Because they are forced to do so because they don't want to be a burden on their children who are staying at home, that's why the parents who reach old age are lucky that their children take care of them.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 20, 2023, 03:52:23 PM
I have personally thought about this topic in the past. And to be honest, I am not sure on where I exactly stand.
I believe that indeed people who do manual labor should be appreciated and respected by their bosses and provide a good salary for them to develop their life as human beings, in a decent way.
On the other hand, those how go to college and learn a second language are more paid for the same bosses of those manual workers, and there comes the collision of ideas.

If the government and the private sector started to pay the same to all of the type of employees or increased the salary of those who do manual labor, then those who are white collar and educated workers would be discouraged to work, even students may feel discouraged to go to college and instead get right into do manual works, because they would get enough money, in their opinion.

Even though, I think Ai and the use of robots to replace much of the labor force is an idea which is gaining force with each year that passes, societies on the planet should get and enforce a set of rules so millions of people won't get unemployed at the same time and rates of crime start to rise out of control in developed countries.

Most people want to have a good job, an adequate salary, or pay an employee properly. The problem is that there are other employers who do not follow the correct procedure for paying wages to their employees.

There are also other employers who look down on employees. Which is not correct, but there are also other employers who know how to appreciate their employees. If that's discrimination, I think in every country there is something like that that really happens.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 20, 2023, 03:03:46 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it, get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire

It's clear that this is DACA's way; now if you do what you say with bitcoin, I don't see anything wrong; rather, it's a good way. And this method can be done with any cryptocurrency.

It's just that if you do it centralized, the 1$ to 5$ is not applicable to centralized exchanges because usually the minimum amount to trade in them is 10$ and up. But if it's done every week for 10 years, it's really good, for sure.
