On another note:

This coin is pure Proof Of Stake.
So technically it doesn't need any large amounts of processing power.
I'm using single board computers to run other Proof of Stake coins and would like to see if this coin is able to be run with minimum power consumption as well.
Sadly there are no technical details about it right now and I don't have any coins to do test runs.

Can anyone point me to a place where the technical groundwork is discussed or written down? Any lead is much appreciated.

I have my wallet open and mining 24/7 and can say that it does not put any load on my pc.
It's very eco friendly just as a POS coin should.

Yes, all POS coins are.
The interesting part is though, what load processing transactions will put on the computer.
This, as well as the target transaction amount and some further technical details like blockchain size and such.
Anyway. In general chances are good that a cubietruck or maybe even a raspie can run as a node.

This allows for 24/7 uptime using only tiny amounts of energy.
A consumption of less than 5W is possible, but very much depends on the further factors like the amount of transactions and transmitted data.

Yes ,indeed. POS is still a fairly new concept and is constantly being observed and tested. The amount of transactions and data and blockchain bloating will certainly increase over time but it won't cause substantial load imo.

You can request the dev for information on blockchain size and other tech details. Also wish you all the best  for getting the coins. Our community can make good use of some technical minds.

IMO Proof-Of-Stake coins are the future of cryptocurreny. Being Pure POS is one of the main reasons i was interested in this coin. It's ecofriendly , chance of 51% attack is very less and unlike POW it does not give unfair advantage to miners with big rigs and asics thus discourages centralization. It creates an even playing field and gives everybody a chance. This, along with a active , functioning community can become a very good recipe for creating some big waves and furthering the cause of cryptoworld.

Also everybody please keep voting. Smiley

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | No Premine! on: April 03, 2014, 04:46:24 PM
What did the wallet update do? My browser doesn't like the file..

same, malicious file blocked and dismissed.

I have checked and the file is perfectly fine. Google chrome as a security measure does not allow any zip files to be directly downloaded so maybe that's why it appears as a malicious file.
Try downloading it from different browser.

The online wallet is done. It will be redesign once the exchange and pawnshop are completed so that it can be compatible. It's simple to use, secure and slick user interface. The link will be up soon.
Nice. Can't wait to check it out.

What's special about this coin? There are already other Pure POS coins around with a fairer distribution model and active community.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PAWN] Pawncoin - Online Pawnshop /Reward decrease soon! on: April 02, 2014, 03:11:03 PM
For the record, Pawncoin success will be determined by the loan services that pawnshop will be providing to clients. The impatience of the IPCO investors is clearly affecting the road map of this project due to the constant changes to suit the investors. We outsourced some of the work to a software company in order to hasten the development because we know that the delay of the services will affect the pawncoin price. We are asking you to look around for the recent coins IPO and see if they are performing well at the exchange due to Bitcoin downward spiral.

We already implemented the Option A specs but due to some recent comments, we are changing it to Option B in the next 10 hours.
We will be putting in more buy orders after the implementation although we already had a lot of pawncoin but it would be nice to control most of the coins in circulation since the rewards will be changed to 50 PAWN per block.

looking forward to the developments.

Interesting concept! A pure POS coin with a genius distribution model.Distributing the coin this way gives the user an incentive to work for its further development. A good, active community can be built around this coin.

If down the line  it also  incorporate features like decentralized p2p distributed exchange etc. like we see in mastercoin ,counterparty and other bitcoin 2.0 protocols then this can be a game changer in the cryptoworld. Would love to be a part of it.

It feels good to see the positivity restored here.
We still have a long way to go but things are moving forward in the right direction. Thanks Ken.

From going manic depressive over the relentless fud ,trolling, speculation, uncertainty to getting excited with in stock miners being shipped and being used for our own mining ,this has been one hell of a ride.

Am quite optimistic now and hoping to receive some good dividends coming trickling our way soon. Please get our shares up and trading.

My order status has been changed to Shipped.

And I've received tracking that states it has been picked up.

Now I wished I had picked Next Day Shipping from Amazon :/ Tongue

Have been waiting eagerly and patiently to see the miners in action for quite sometime .please do post some pics when you get them setup. Thanks.

This doesn't look good now!
Court Orders Freezing of Hashfast Bitcoin Wallets
https://coinreport.net/court-freezing-hashfast-bitcoin-wallets/
Will Icedrill take some actions according to this?

More transparency is required in the dealings and negotiations with hashfast.
Please give us some idea about what is happening behind the scenes.

congratulations, solo seems to be going well for you all. stick with it.  Grin
(and if you can drop a couple of rigs back to ozcoin, that would be good too!)

We are having some good luck with the solo mining so far lets hope it continues. Smiley
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Would you support a Litecoin [LTC] to X11 algorithm hardfork? on: April 02, 2014, 08:05:27 AM
Hardforking in such a large scale to a new algo could cause instability and distrust .
It can be quite destructive for ltc.

177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] ↑ Up Coin ↑ Always going up! [IPO] Ever changing algorithm ↑ on: April 02, 2014, 07:18:18 AM

MATHEMATICAL ALGORITHM
Unique mathematical equations were done to ensure the coin gets increasing value over time. Invest and let us do the rest.

Yeah right! Unique mathematical equations , my ass.
Why do people even fall for this crap.
Another scamcoin trying to fleece money out of the gullible.
