161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Ether Prices Surge to Fresh All-Time Highs on: November 25, 2017, 05:16:23 PM
Pretty much all coins have been on the rise in the past 24 hours. I think the recent news that talk about various governments wanting to legalize cryptocurrencies is increasing people's confidence in the currency and leading to the surge in the price.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Fraud,' or the Future of Finance? on: November 25, 2017, 04:44:51 PM
I'm thinking we are slowly moving past the "fraud" stage, because people have started to see that cryptocurrencies are not a fraud. We are currently experiencing the "it's a bubble" wave, which I think will continue until the price stabilizes. It is currently unknown how strong a player bitcoin will be in the finance world in the future, but it will definitely continue to be influential.
163  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is on an uptrend on: November 25, 2017, 03:42:22 PM
It seems that all crypto currencies are now on an uptrend. Any fiat converted into crypto is booming and it seems to be a snowballing effect where more people invest and the value goes higher and higher. I believe this is because of the strong gains everyone is feeling right now and I now understand why some people think its a bubble.

But when you come to think of it, we are still early adopters right? Are there analysts who really project bitcoin or cryptocurrency value to skyrocket in the future? (aside from McAfee of course).
Yeah it seems that bitcoin value is gonna go way higher than now (looking at the present statistics). But i also think it is a bubble as of now bitcoin is becoming trend and everyone is investing in it . But with time may be there will be something new for the people to invest where there will be more profit for everyone. Still no one knows the future so anything could happen.

"Everyone is investing in it" is not entirely correct, in my opinion. The number of people who have heard about cryptocurrencies, let alone the number of people that actually invest in them, is a small fraction of people who are trying to invest their money. Everyone's been hearing about bitcoin as a buzzword, but most of those people are not investing in bitcoin at all.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [News] Analysts started talking about Bitcoin for 14,000 USD on: November 25, 2017, 03:11:32 PM
I think there isn't any doubt in anybody's mind that $10K will be reached soon enough. I was hoping for this year's end, but that seems difficult for now. Anyhow, the 5-digit mark is the next threshold for us and I would argue that it is possibly the most important threshold for bitcoin ever. If we manage to find support at $10K, we might never go back to 4 digits again.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rulers Can ban Bitcoin through the entire Earth! on: November 25, 2017, 03:03:46 PM
Bitcoin, or cryptocurrencies as a whole, cannot make fiat currencies disappear. At least not in the foreseeable future. Think about it, we measure the value of bitcoin based on how many dollars it is worth. And bitcoin is nowhere close to be widespread enough to replace fiat.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream Adoption of Bitcoin Throughout South Korea is Growing on: November 25, 2017, 01:57:22 PM
I think the first comprehensive bitcoin regulation will come from Korea. The cryptocurrency trading volume in the country is very high, and the government already has a task force which is working on cryptocurrency related issues, like regulating ICOs, for instance. Korea as a whole is a high-tech country anyway, and it shouldn't surprise anyone that they are among the leading countries that work on how cryptocurrencies can be regulated.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin on: November 25, 2017, 01:45:35 PM
Does bitcoin has a promising future considering most governments resisting to acknowledge and accept its use in their economies?

It is a perfectly normal behavior, if you think about it. If you work full time you will know this: How often does a new development happen in your sector, and your company is so slow to recognize it and take action and it frustrates the hell out of you? It happens all the time. And a company is fairly small in comparison to a government, which has hundreds of thousands of employees, and whose decisions affect the lives of millions.

As such, you cannot expect governments to react to every single development so quickly. Since cryptocurrencies are getting stronger, governments have started to express their intent to legalize it and/or regulate it. If you browse the press section you can see such news coming from various governments from around the world pretty much every day. So although some governments are adamant about banning cryptocurrencies or keeping them under control somehow, I think the overall trend is good so far.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization or public awareness? on: November 25, 2017, 01:37:12 PM
Public awareness has to come first. Increased public awareness will lead to more people investing in bitcoin, forcing governments' hand to legalize cryptocurrencies, because people will start to take their money off the grid. If people are not aware of bitcoin to the extent that they start investing in it, governments will feel no need to legalize it, since bitcoin's impact on the economy as a whole will be negligible.
169  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-24] Russia’s most famous billionaires are investing heavily in Bitcoin. on: November 24, 2017, 08:23:15 PM
despite a clear ban from the Kremlin.

Is this really the case? Recently, every day we are hearing a different Russian minister saying that they will ban cryptocurrencies, but as far as I know the Russian government has not taken any concrete measures against cryptocurrencies so far.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin MMORPG is a good idea?. a cryptoworld on: November 24, 2017, 07:44:25 PM
I'm not entirely sold on the concept, to be honest. Especially when you consider that recently people have started to stand up against microtransactions in games.

One further difficulty is that you need two very different sorts of specialties for this game to work: extensive blockchain knowledge, and game design/coding knowledge. It is difficult to find people who are knowledgeable in both. Actually, game design is arguably more important than blockchain knowledge because no matter how powerful the business model of the game is, nobody is going to play it unless it's fun.

So I think this is a bit difficult to pull off for now.
171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Doubts about 2018 Market cap and Price Predictions on: November 24, 2017, 07:07:01 PM
The year 2017 may be an outlier for all we know. The interest in bitcoin rose rapidly and this was reflected in the tremendous amount of percentage-wise increase of the bitcoin price. Will it happen again? Nobody can say for sure.

Pretty much everyone agrees that the trend will continue to rise, however not as sharply as it did in 2017. But, since established financial institutions are starting to realize the potential of bitcoin, market cap may experience a significant rise once again. So to summarize, an increase is definitely expected, but currently it seems difficult for the increase in 2018 to match the performance in 2017.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Are Your Greatest Fears As a Bitcoin Holder? on: November 24, 2017, 01:21:47 PM
Sudden fluctuations which could cause panic and also cause people to lose their trust in the currency is my greatest fear. Bitcoin is not established enough to the extent that people's perceptions about the currency become relatively unimportant.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people paid their debt and reached ROI status with Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2017, 01:19:40 PM
You never want to walk around with debt. I wouldn't, at least. If you have made enough to pay your debts, cash out, pay your debts and invest after that.
178  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-24] Swiss Central Banker: Bitcoin Is 'More Investment Than Currency' on: November 24, 2017, 01:16:53 PM
This is my view as well. Bitcoin is note widespread enough to become a currency, also the high transaction fees prevent it from becoming a mode of daily payment.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How fast Bitcoin is spreading. on: November 24, 2017, 07:37:21 AM
I would say faster than Facebook. It would be good if someone could come up with numbers.
