161  Other / Meta / Received database errors when trying to post on: September 19, 2013, 10:41:21 PM
Hello all,
I tried to post a reply and received "database error...".  When I attempted to post the reply a second time I received "you already posted"

I see the site is incredibly slow today.
Is this the proper place to post issues with the website?

Thank you,
HowlingMad

Hey I was actually able to post this!!!!

We'll all be sending our miners to data centres in Russia at this rate - Russia 2.4 to 9.58 c/kw according to Wikipedia

I was able to find space mainland USA with 2c offpeak & 3.5 cent peak rates, which is where the miners are going...
and where exactly are your miners? plugged in at a power plant near you?!?

In the US don't forget there is a 'transmission charge' also.  Here in the wonderful state of NJ, it is $0.12 Kwh.  Now add the $0.067 transmission charge for a marvelous total of $0.187 Kwh.

Most of the 'alternative' electric companies fail to mention that you are still going to get charged for transmission.  So the guys that are offering $0.10 Kwh, your final cost is $0.167.

Lets see: 750 Watt 400Gh/s miner - from .187 to .167 yields a savings of $131 per year; and from .187 to .08 yields a savings of $600 per year, down to $579 per year.

I did a search for Russian electric costs, found a .pdf at academia.edu... $.08 Kwh this year, $.10 Kwh next year and rising $.01-.02 cents each year until 2020.  This is because they are going the deregulation route.

Really, if you are going to use COMED RRTP program, watch that 4pm spike to $.078 Kwh.  Oh to be in Illinois again.

I had suggested on BTCJAM that lenders have access to their Facebook accounts so we could splatter this on their walls.  No answer as of yet.

I'm sure facebook will jump all over that!   Cheesy

Where in Canada is your one deadbeat?
Sorry Vod, I was in error.  His profile on btcjam lists as Canada, but his ebay userid and Facebook profile list as Toulouse, France.

I am legitimately disabled with bipolar

You know there is something known as 'charity care' at your local hospital?  My employer has a whole building dedicated to outpatient psychotherapy.  If you are gambling that much, there are some other issues going on.

Bipolar disorder cannot be cured, but it can be treated effectively over the long-term. Proper treatment helps many people with bipolar disorder—even those with the most severe forms of the illness—gain better control of their mood swings and related symptoms. But because it is a lifelong illness, long-term, continuous treatment is needed to control symptoms.

You might want to ask your doctor about other underlying mental problems....and stay away from the drugs and alcohol.

If you punch yourself in the head 30 times.. and it hurts... and you do it again 40 times.. and it hurts... what do you suppose will happen when you do it 50 times ?

Actually I am immune to punches to the head!  It just contains a vacuum.   Grin Actually the named losers have only cost me 1.1 BTC, meanwhile I have made 2.6 BTC in the same month.

There is an opportunity to make money there just as there is at btct.co   And sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.  The best trader on Wall Street is only right 51% of the time.

166  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .4 BTC loan on: August 17, 2013, 03:25:10 AM
This was not a legal contract. And also Bitcoin is not recognized by the US government as currency. So I have no legal obligation to you. Goodbye

Wrong!  Pairateat40 just tried that and promptly got slapped around by the Judge.  The judge ruled that bitcoins are a commodity similar to gold or silver.  http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/bitcoin-is-a-currency-rules-us-judge-8770963.html Shocked

So guess what you 29 year old loser... You have committed fraud (by trying to sell you own debt) and theft in the USA.  If the Feds can slap around Pirateat40, they can slap you around also.

All a judge has to hear is that you wanted a loan to play online poker and you be finding new friends in jail!
167  Economy / Scam Accusations / latest btcjam scammers on: August 16, 2013, 10:41:17 PM
I have been hit by the following people on BTCJAM:
Butterfly AKA Viskas Merginoms from Vilnius, Lithuania.  Appears to be 15 years old.  Has eBay userid of zvaigzdeee, number of friends on Facebook grossly inflated.  Often goes by the handle STAR.

Joeyjmr8484, listed here as a scammer, AKA Joseph Rondini.  Has been banned from multiple sites and also created a second userid here as moomerycreamery and tried to sell his own debt.

Voodoo22 AKA voodoo2237 on eBay.  Not sure what the deal with this person is.  BTCJAM says located in Spain, eBay states located in USA.  I got sucked into this one because name, address and phone verified!!!  Oh well, not much else to go on here.

Finally, xavv2012 AKA Xavier Hinard on twitter.  Lives in Canada apparently.  Not much else to go on here either.

I had suggested on BTCJAM that lenders have access to their Facebook accounts so we could splatter this on their walls.  No answer as of yet.
168  Economy / Lending / Re: looking to sell joeyjmr8484 btcjam debt on: August 16, 2013, 09:28:59 PM
Yes I read up about him on here. That's why I was willing to sell it for $15 less.

Do you have the btcjam link to his account profile or one of his loans?  I can try to make sure no one else falls for his scam on there.
https://btcjam.com/listings/5981

Too late - he's already done as much damage as he can on that account.  He can't ask for new loans while old ones are overdue.

Actually, I just sent him a PM.  According to dashboard he is online now.  Too bad his real name is Joseph Rondini and can be found under the same login name (joeyjmr8484) on Twitter. Cheesy and has been kicked off of ebay!

What a moron!  I guess being the third person permanently banned on pokerowned.com makes him a real 'stand up guy'.

Can't someone lock him out of here also??
169  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: August 14, 2013, 10:06:22 PM
I am trying to get an ABA transfer out of Gox, which is supposed to be 2-5 business days.  I have had one there for a week now and am getting the 'canned' response.  "We are backed up excessively and are working the problem as fast as we can...I also asked for a guess-tamite as to the number of business days... No answer.  I am guessing this is going to be the "up to 3 weeks delay for a SEPA withdrawal" and that is when I will see it.

$1000 USD on August 8th, 2013.  I will post when I see it.

davos,
Are you sure you created this correctly?  0.18 percent on 15 BTC is 0.0324 Btc in interest; at $95 USD per BTC equates to $3.078 interest on $1,425.

My apologies for stating this but $3 profit on $1400 worth of risk is not going to receive a lot of user interest.

Question:  Is the Hash Rate in 1,000's?  If I have a 14Gh ASIC miner do I enter 14,000?  Thanks.
173  Other / Beginners & Help / magixx has bfl miner for sale. Ha on: July 13, 2013, 11:23:02 AM
Magixx has the BFL miner for $15,000 on ebay.  He must really want to get rid of it quick, as he has had it for less then 24 hours.

This brings up my basic problem with bitcoin mining, and ASIC miners in general.  How many more years can coins be mined?  Are we talking 5 years?
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking BitCoin in Quicken on: June 23, 2013, 09:34:51 AM
Hawks5999,

Thank you for the information.  This helps alot.

Additionally with precious metals this works out to be the same type of 'workaround' although instead of shares it is grams or troy ounces.  If you were to purchase metals in grams and ounces, you would want to setup each as a different stock and enter the prices individually, and not drive yourself insane performing gram/ounce conversions.

Thanks again

Unfortunately I am forced to use Authy with my Coinbase account.  See below email:

Good Morning,
After multiple attempts to actually install your Authy product I was finally able to get it installed.  Now when I attempt to use Coinbase the connection between the Authy code and the Coinbase website NEVER works.  I have been able to uninstall Authy and reinstall it correctly.

Additionally, when I attempt a SMS verification with Coinbase to my cell phone it NEVER arrives!

So at this point I am unable to use Coinbase.  With these type of problems I cannot trust that I will be able to access my funds.

My cellphone is a Samsung Blaze with GINGERBREAD.UVLF5, Android version 2.3.6, Kernel version 2.6.35.11
