I was checking on my miners earlier and notcied the s9 i have pointed here that every minute or so its ramping up and down on the fans. The other miners pointed at different pools arnt doung this.
The temps were 71 69 and 69.
Any reason why?
Nope, unless your machine is doing some kind of internal ramp up or down trying to find the best Freq, it shouldn't be doing that though. |

just a ? and maybe a sort of a heads up to kano in case it is an issue that you are not aware of..
for the last 2 weeks I happened to notice that any time a block is found on the network and then the pool starts working on a new block. I have noticed the time it takes for the pool to start on the new work is some times as much as 5 mins behind.
for instance block number 499476 found by slushpool at 2017-12-15 13:31 and then they instantly started working on block 499477 and working on it for almost 5 mins before the time kano pool switched and started the new work on trying to work on block 499477
sometimes its only about 15-20 seconds difference that the pool takes to switch on to a new block and get to work and figured that was just normal time its taking for other pools to switch work after another pool finds a block.. But over 4 mins seems like a real long relay time.
so incase that is longer then it should take I figured I would say something to let you know so if it is a problem you could see what the cause might be. Tho if not then I guess its no biggie and you would know its not any thing that could cause any issue with the pool missing out on the big race to find a block before any other pool ever did.
I had noticed the same thing. Kano assured me that the Pool immediately goes to work on the new work for the new block. No delays. He would know since he has the tools to monitor the hash on each block. He explained to me that many Internet providers use proxies for websites and they are not always updated properly. I pushed the I believe button because he would know since he is monitoring the back end. Now with that said... timing in this game is everything. Ensure that you mine to the fastest ping Pool node for your location. In my case, it is the NYA with a 14ms ping. MINE ON!!! KANO-SAN has got our back!! |

Just look at the Workers->Workers page when you first start mining.
It updates immediately whenever you send a share.
You can see the share count going up, ignore the hash rate on the right when you first start until you've mined for at least 10 minutes, but look at the "Share Rate" to see if those shares are counting.
Thanks! I’ll switch over. Can you tell me what a normal share rate range is for a single S9? Well it doesn't matter when you first connect. It takes a few hours for a miner to show a close approximation of their hash rate in the "Hash Rate" field. The point of the "Share Rate" field is to get immediate feedback that the miner is working ok and submitting shares, and to show what that is when converted to a "Share Rate", but it also fluctuates a lot. You really have to just let it go for a few hours and see what the "Hash Rate" settles down to. Sounds good. I’m back in. Welcome to the best little pool mining Bitcoin. What line 2 says, is that we expect, on average, 1 in 2.7 blocks, to be over 100% What line 5 says, is that we expect, on average, 1 in 20.1 blocks, to be over 300% etc. It's something that a lot of people don't realise about the expected results when finding blocks Just thought I'd post it again for the newer members Kano, What is the relationship between Pool Hash Rate, Diff and Probabilities, if any? What would be the reason that one would purchase this unit over the S9? Reliability is much better or so I have read, but power consumption is not. Would it be the fact that bitmain is not months behind and paying the scalper prices on ebay is absurd? Not trying to start anything here. Just attempting to confirm what I believe the reasons are based on my research. All in all given the retail pricing of both units wouldn't the S9 be the better machine 9 (not considering reliability).
Well with Bitmain where you have to pay 3 months in advance for an S9 ... that's 3 months of lost mining ... which is a VERY long time. If instead you can get a miner much faster ... then that also needs to be factored in. At the moment neither of them can supply miners quickly, but a few months back most people ignored the fact you could get an A7 when you couldn't get an S9. We'll see what happens when the A8 is released ... Then of course, as mentioned above, the RMA on an S9 is pretty much a joke ... so you gotta hope your S9 never fails ... Does Miner/Warez have the same policy as Caanan for purchase. I was reading from Caanan that I need an import license and a business license. I am essentially a hobby miner, this is not even close to my main business. Can anyone share their experience with Minerwarez and their requirements? Thanks and we are @100% of DIFF, Come On Block!!! The Bitcoin Kabookie Dance Session was performed in support of this next block. Mine On. I think the limit for buying from Canaan direct is a pallet of miners. I wish I had the power overhead for 60 miners (a pallet), but like many, I am limited in that regard. It seems Minerwarez, as a US Distributor, can meet my needs. How much power the A8 consumes and what the TH/s spec is, will dictate my max capacity. Mine On!! canaan 1,424.56THs, seems they have dropped significant Hash Rate. I wonder why? Also, I am about growing my farm with Avalons, does anyone have specs on the new A8 that is rumored to come out in January. Looking to add another ~150 TH/s to max out my available power. Any info regarding the A8 would be appreciated. THX Mine On!!
Keep in mind they ostensibly do burn-ins on their batches... Canaan has gone to great lengths to reiterate that any specs you see on an A8 at this point are BS. We (Canaan customers) have received notices to only believe what we see from corporate. I tend to rely on that, as they've always been considerably more honest in their overall dealings than BiteMe. it is a really good way to look at things, instead of getting manipulated by everyone's guesses, as fun as they can be. I guess I will wait before spending my next batch of cash. I was looking at those 16TH/s Miners that were introduced earlier but I saw that as a crap shoot since they have yet to ever deliver a product to anyone and they were taking Pre-Orders.
