162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best equipment to mine Monero? on: July 26, 2018, 05:04:43 PM
Monero is not a good coin for beginners
You need 2 or 3 days of mining with one good GPU to recover it !
and I think the best equipment on the market for mining monero are hacked botnets.

Lol. Grin ... You didn't think that one through, now did you?  What would you say makes a coin, a good coin for beginners?  Certainly the time it takes to mine with proper equipment doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it is a good coin for beginners.  There really is no such thing as a coin that is not good for beginners.

A beginner can choose what coins to mine just as someone who's been doing it for years based on what level of speculation they are comfortable with.

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy GPUs? on: July 24, 2018, 02:37:12 AM
What is a reasonable price to buy second hand 1080 ti? 650 USD?

299 usd, gtx 1070 will be faster than gtx 1080 ti and it might cost $399.

Metroid is a paid troll or either a bored moderator.

Nobody is this stupid.  Cool hehe.

7-8 months ago I thought Metroid was a medium size miner, trying to convince people not to buy up gpu's during the fall/winter btc bull run of 2017.  And into 2018, as gpu prices went through the roof, I agreed with him.  His numbers were usually way off on gpu prices, because I think he was getting them from re-sellers, but I did agree with the point.  I personally had only been mining for a couple months when I noticed him, but I thought he was putting fear into the minds of people that were spending a ton of money on something that would never even give them a return.  I thought he was doing this for his own benefit, to be honest.

He was and probably still is saying some really negative things about gpu mining, but what he really should have been saying was ... Be prepared to mine and not sell until the time is right.  That may be a year from now, or it could be five years from now.  Be prepared to mine until those gpu's and dead, pay for the electricity out of your own pocket ... And still hold your coins until the time is right.

That's when I learned that mining was never meant to be a largely profitable endevour on a day to day basis.  As I look back ... I have a friend/previous co-worker that mined with a couple 1070 or 1070ti's (can't remember which) when he was telling me capital recovery was 7 months on the hardware.  This was probably spring of 2017, maybe a little before.  He didn't understand difficulty, hashrate, used nicehash, ect ... Pretty sure he didn't even know what an asic was at that point.  He just thought he was always going to be able to do what he did and get the same prize for ever and ever.  Mining profitability kept going up and I started to build out my small home mining farm in the fall of 2017.

I started mining zen and zec ... xmr on my first amd rig.  For 90 days, I was rolling in the cash (although I still haven't sold any crypto to this day).  Only mined and traded for btc.  Btc dropped, alts dropped, asics for ethash and equihash were introduced.  Started spec mining ... One coins  that I still believe in is what I'm still spec mining and will wait for months, if need be.

The point is that mining isn't a business that you can take fiat from on a day to day basis, and be profitable.  Never was and never will be.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy GPUs? on: July 23, 2018, 12:07:07 AM
It's up to you. The market is done and nobody knows when it goes up. You'd better count the profitability then decide buy or not buy.

If you care about current profitability, you aren't buying any mining hardware.  The key is to not care about "current" profitability.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to mine in 2018 on: July 23, 2018, 12:04:49 AM
I would love to hear an elegant formula for determining the best coins to mine.  Maybe we should build a simple calculator app?  I'll design it and crank out a creative website for it, if someone wants to build out the calculator!

Or you could just read and make your own judgments.
167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on: July 22, 2018, 06:52:07 PM
Bitcoin has a lot of fluctuations this year. It has fallen continuously but it does not return to its original position as when Satoshi Nakamoto created it. Meanwhile, there are other types of electronic money, such as those that can not be recovered. Bitcoin is great and it has slowly devoured the entire electronic money market. You see it down a section then it's up to 2 sections. I can say the cost is $ 36210 in mid-January 2019

What does this have to do with alt coin mining?
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 50K+ budget, Suggestions? on: July 22, 2018, 03:13:53 AM
Those 50k you have can become 500k, just buy eth and forget, check next year or 2020, it might become 2 million usd.

LOL  Grin Grin Grin Sure, if they can continue to buy the SEC.  Swindling toilet.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 50K+ budget, Suggestions? on: July 22, 2018, 02:35:41 AM
If I had 50k of extra capital right now, I wouldn't purchase additional mining hardware.  I would start trying to figure out where you think the bottom of btc is.  Learn to trade on some level.  No need to day trade.  Dollar cost average in what you want to hold for the next few years.  That's what I'm doing with my extra 15K.  I also wouldn't be hell bent on selling in one year.  Could be in for a disappointment, if this is loaned capital that you have to pay back in one year without interest.

I agree with this, now BTC my be in the bottum with trying to get bullish. It will make you get more profit and wait to buy the newer vesion of ASIC.

I don't have any ASIC's, but I wouldn't buy the S9.  If you're going to buy a btc miner from shitmain, wait for the first batch of the next gen btc asic.  Currently, they are just trying to offload a bunch of dog shit for as much as they can get for that dog shit.

I also don't believe that the 5800-6000 range was the bottom, so my 15K usd is in cash at the moment.  Still mining away at the shitcoins that haven't been taken over by asic's and holding/trading for btc.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best pool for mining Monero? on: July 22, 2018, 02:30:07 AM
Profitability depends on your GPUs. Anyway, we hope that price will go up. That's why I mine and hodl.

If you're mining, take a lesson from this guy that I just quoted.  Mining and selling anything daily, weekly, monthly in the current environment is nuts.  Sell your mined coins for btc when the pair value is where you want it to be.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best pool for mining Monero? on: July 22, 2018, 02:26:37 AM
is it even still profitable to mine monero? with it actual price?

No one that seriously mines XMR, gives a rats fuck about the price.   Grin Grin Grin ... You're new huh? LOL.  Grin
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining on: July 22, 2018, 02:25:19 AM
I think that Cloud Mining is a very profitable business, but it's worth investing a lot to make a lot. It is better to collect mining. It's safer when your investments are in your hands, not strangers.

LOL  Grin Grin Grin ... WRONG!

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: July 21, 2018, 03:04:17 AM
Still making my truck payment here with my GPU's.

Not shabby.

Though my equip was paid off long ago.

Can not imagine buying in 6 months ago building a rig and being buried completely with GPU prices.

Ride er out til she dies.

Not six months ago, but I built my gpu farm in November 2017.  Not the best of times to buy gpu's, but not the worst either.  Haven't sold a single thing for fiat.  I don't really plan to for a few years at least.  I mine, trade for btc when the mined-alt/btc value is good, and I'm still on par for what I expected.  Don't build a gpu farm on credit, have funds to pay your electricity costs out of your other pocket, learn when to trade your mined alts for btc, and don't be an idiot.  I don't care what my fiat value is or if I can make a car payment with my crypto mining profits, I care how much btc I can get in 1, 3, 6, 12. 18, 24, 36, 48 months with the hardware that I have.  That is all.

How to make a good post ... Shut the fuck up, read more, and stop yourself from trying to make a good post.  After a few months, you'll get the hang of it.

I think the people contributing to this thread as of late who speak proper English are few and far between.  I almost feel that way about this entire forum.  Tired of decoding the bullshit.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Last call for those who will invest in low price for bitcoin. on: July 10, 2018, 05:28:13 PM
As we all know that to make optimal profit here in cryptocurrency specifically in investing bitcoin is to buy low price for bitcoin and sell in higher price. This is why others think that holding is the best way to earn and in fact they are right. So for those who are still eyeing to invest in bitcoin this is a call for  you to invest now while market price is still low.

Bitcoin rise is near therefore it is a good time for those who wanted to have bitcoin to invest as of this moment. It is a great start investing in a low amount then probably after a few moments the bitcoin will rise and therefore what you have invested will rise. Today is the perfect time for investing because tomorrow bitcoin price will rise.

LOL  Grin Grin Grin If you would have said that one day earlier, you would have been dead wrong, because btc fell several hundred dollars in the past 24 hours.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I shut it down tonight boys. on: July 08, 2018, 03:42:14 AM
$0.06 per kwh and you can't find a profitable coin for mining?
I'm paying $0.22 per kwh and i'm still mining, my rig has low net profit per day because my electricity is very expensive, but i can profit about $4 per day(bitcoin at $6500).

Anyway you can mine and hold some months until bull market comes.

Exactly.  Get rich quick miners who invested too much in hardware and don't have the funds to pay for electricity can't wait months or years, before they run out of steam.  They had a bad business plan from the beginning and now they are shitting their pants.   Grin Grin Grin  ... It's the difference between those who mine for daily profit and those who mine for annual or longer time frame profits.

My business plan back in the fall of 2017 was based on pure speculation, as should all who are developing a mining plan today.  Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.  Don't put all of your available funds into mining hardware.  Learn to trade, learn to read charts and indicators.  Buy coins for long term holding and set aside a small percentage to trade, just to learn.

Personally, I don't sell any mined coins for fiat, and probably won't for a couple more years.  I do trade mined alts for btc though, when the time is right.  I think that's the most important part of gpu mining shit coins right now.  Know when to trade them for btc.
