161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quinlan Associates: Bitcoin Price will Crash to $1,800 in 2018 on: January 15, 2018, 07:03:20 PM
Goldman Sachs gave up their predictions around the $4000 ish mark. Why should be listen to anyone else? It'll do what it's going to do. That price is possible. It would be a deeper fall than 2013 but not by very much, but it'll take something pretty radical for it to happen.

Though all of this could be argued since all of them are just mere predictions. But from the article in the OP, giving the exact amount would be very intriguing. I am not aware of what really happened about the 2013 crash, I know it involved Mt. Goxx but I have no idea about the details. Supposing that 2018 will be like 2013, wouldn't it much more practical to drop at around 10k - 8k rather than that very low price? I mean, come on. Would whales and strong investors would wait for the price to reach that bottom. Seeing BTC at 10k would be a good entry point for them, right?

OMG...you guys remember Huge Black Woman, right?  I'm not here to be politically correct, and if you're fuming over some flowery offensive words--especially on the internet, you really ought to grow a much thicker skin.

Good, I'm glad my words stung.  It's a good learning experience for you.  If you people can't tell "over the top" from "crossing the line" then there's not much I can do for you and you probably take yourself and your race, your skin color, your sexuality, your cross-genderization, your political beliefs, and every other fucking thing way too seriously.

There is also this wonderful thing here called the ignore button, and if you really can't stand to read the solid gold bullion that I crank out on bitcointalk, you should avail yourself of it.

I would offer all the Filipinos here a group hug, but I'm afraid I'd be cannibalized at worst or come away smelling of curry at best.

Now read that line and ask yourself how seriously you're going to take it.  And then you can flame me all you like, to the best of your linguistic skills.  I can take it.

Welcome. Thanks for noticing this request from you Wink

Huge Black Woman? Never heard of her. I bet she's from Africa.

Your words stung for some. But for me, I don't actually know. I cannot feel anything.

No need for the magical ignore button. How can we see your fruitful posts if we'll do that, right? Cheesy

Hmm, we'd rather have a banana  Roll Eyes

Hey, no need to be so serious. This was your request remember. We won't bite  Wink

I have seen many many Users and Mods on Here bashing people about their posts because English is not their Primary language and seems "Broken" or sounds "Stupid"

This includes theymos  " - While some amount of error is difficult to avoid, if your English is so broken that you sound stupid, then your post will be deleted." topic is here can't be Quoted https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2722359.0

English speaking people who seem to think that learning a second language perfectly is easy should probably try it themselves.

Imagine that??

You have to ask yourself how many languages does theymos fluently speak? or how about The Pharmacist? or Mr. Prep?

That's not bashing. I think you have to recheck the definition of "bashing" mate.

That's odd. Was this thread about using English fluently? Guess many are lost  Roll Eyes

Do you need some baby wipes?
Not really, but if you insist then I'll gratefully accept Cheesy
I'm not here to be politically correct, and if you're fuming over some flowery offensive words--especially on the internet, you really ought to grow a much thicker skin.
Someone literally neg. rated me for using bad words. Roll Eyes

That's their decision  Tongue

He called Filipinos monkeys. 1

I would say they are malnourished cancer to this forum. And also include the Indonesians and the Bangaldeshi Beggars to this list. Even I am from a third world country but I dont shitpost across the forum like these people do. This "Who does not want free money" stance is what irritates me as well.

Wasn't Signature Campaign itself was the source of this cancer? Shitposters were just lured in because of the stench. Oh wait, include me as a shitposter, I'm from Philippines after all Roll Eyes

He states that the "collective contributions (of the Filipinos) to bitcointalk are ZERO" while there are 2 Filipino Moderators in this forum. Namely Dabs and rickbig41
It come from the majority decision. Few innocent people are always hurt in the crossfire. But those who know that they have contributed to this forum will not start this type of a thread but rather politely ask him to not make such comments.

Define majority?
Please read the OP, this is a request.

Your method of accusing The Pharmacist simply shows that you are butthurt. If you have the guts to accept the fact that even if 90% of the Filipinos are shitposters but still 10% are not and are worth being proud of, then you would not get touched by this words and would have simply moved on.

Accused of what? Attacking Filipinos? It's only the truth. Does anyone demands TP's appologize? None.
I am proud to be a Filipino. But I am not proud being called as shitposter.

There's no reason for me to move on lmao. I just had my last glance at this thread, that's all Grin

All of this reminds me....

Wasn't there a Filipino Bitcoin Whale named Leroy Fodor here a while back?

I wonder what ever happened to him?

~BCX~

Does anyone care? Nope. None. Sorry dude Tongue

Though you do have to admit that its 3rd world posters from Asia that completely ruin this forum. They just spam 24/7 in bounties, signature campaigns, they buy accounts and scam.

All of us very much agree.

*Agreed with hilariousetc, words don't kill, actions do. Its not like the Pharmacist is going to kill every Filipino he sees....*

Its not like the Pharmacist is going to kill every Filipino he sees....*
I'm not out to literally kill anyone, and OP here is blowing up like a borderline personality drama queenie here.

They are sharp enough to cause wounds and could even kill

Was this statement too difficult to comprehend? That was a figure of speech Tongue

^That's how you take jokes OP.

Joke is different from insult. But to be honest, some posts here were hilarious.

OK, so there are Filipino mods.  Does that negate what I said about the Phillipines' collective contribution to bitcointalk?  Hell, no!

It does. 1+1+0+0+0+0+0+...+0 != 0 Unless, of course, if contributing nothing would be scored as negative Roll Eyes

Not all shitposters are from the Phillipines, but most Filipinos from what I've seen are shitposters.  They didn't come to an English-language forum to discuss bitcoin in a language that's not their own.  They came here to earn money from campaigns that only pay for English posts, and they're wiping their ass with bitcointalk in the process with the results you can clearly see in sections like Bitcoin Discussion & Economics.

No objections here.

"Ask yourself, if Filipino were a shithole country, would this thread still have been created?"

Perhaps. It depends. Sorry I cannot see through parallel worlds Roll Eyes Tongue

Filipino is a citizenship, not a country Roll Eyes

Come to think of it, I assume many from the shithole country you speak of joined your twitter campaign. Oh wait, I was a part of it as well. And you haven't paid yet even though you said that it will be on the 11th of January. Oops?

It could be partly my fault, ever since I talked about Bitcoin on a game with 3000 Filipino players, I started to see more of them here, price was $2000 back then.

Guilty as charged! JK  Grin

Mr. prep talk to mr. theymos to change activity counting, for example if you are wearing a signature you wouldn't have your activity increased but even getting negative activity per post while wearing a signature. then make people to pay at least $0.1 per post if they would like to maintain their rank. then exclude bounty and altcoin sections from counting towards your activity.

This is not off topic, this is why we're here on this topic, when you have a signature on even for a day, your activity should decrease for 2 weeks per post, that way, no body could trick the system.

You're making things complicated for theymos. And btw, it's mprep not Mr. prep.

Theymos will not do that. It would be unfair for someone who's reputable and NOT a shitposter to loss some of his/her activities just being enrolled on a signature campaign. And how would the admin/mods will verify if someone is really in an SC? By wearing a signature? That's a dumb logic.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Price will go up or down? on: January 11, 2018, 10:15:19 PM
Hello every one , today bitcoin price is already @ 14724$. Where should it go from here? where i will go , it goes down or up?
If it will go up, how high it will go? and if it will go deep how low it is?
Can any one tell me where the support and resistance level?

As a personal opinion I think If it goes down than it will 12k$ and if it will up than it can be cross 20k$. According to me it will up soon and also hit 20k$ in this year.

Current price of Bitcoin based from cmc: $13,630. Clever speculation you got there.

Quote
and if it will up than it can be cross 20k$

$15 is much realistic at the moment Grin
Quote
According to me it will up soon and also hit 20k$ in this year.

I suppose your source is reliable. $20k is very close to the ATH recorded last time so $20k is very much possible. Your timeline is also clever, "this year" is a long duration and 20k USD would be an easy target.

164  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold, silver, or other asset secured coins? on: January 11, 2018, 09:59:03 PM
Full disclosure: I am a team member and advisor of a similar token which is about to launch our ICO to fuel growth, not initial development of the product.

I am interested in any ICO, Crypto, or other investment vehicle that is secured by a physical asset like precious metals, gems, land, etc. Does anyone know of these existing in the current market?

Yeah, there are several projects launched already backing value of their coins with traditional physical assets. Some of them are:

1. Xaurum: Gold backed cryptocurrency launched in 2015
2. Xaurum Gamma: Land backed cryptocurrency launched in 2017
3. SLVR Mine: Cryptocurrency backed by Silver launched in 2017, planning another round of ICO in 2018
4. Cedex: Diamond based blockchain exchange, launching its ICO in March 2018, worthy project with huge buzz already.

There maybe several more projects. I could only recapitulate these at the moment. Will add more if I remember.

This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing

GoldMint: Gold backed cryptocurrency. Launched in 2017 as well.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN DYING?? on: January 11, 2018, 09:56:03 PM
BTC PRICE IS FALLING RN

Define dying. It seams it's the first time you've seen Bitcoin falling, isn't it

A price fall does not mean it's dying. It just means many are selling instead of buying. This is normal for a very volatile type of currency. This is even an opportunity to buy more at a lower price. Do not be scared about the price fall and just hold your Bitcoin. Buy some if you can.
166  Other / Meta / Re: How to Change User name on: January 11, 2018, 08:53:07 PM

A: You can either donate 50 BTC to become a VIP or PM theymos asking to change your username (although he rarely accepts such requests nowadays).

If you don't speak English, don't post on English sections.
Quote
But there's no restrictions regarding that.
There is:

You can argue up to what point bad English is still English, but it's obvious there is a line somewhere.

My bad from cutting your post. My actual thought was: No one restricts users to post in English boards even though their English is bad. Well unless it's so bad that no one understands anything.

If you seriously get offended by some anonymous person on the internet, you'd better get your priorities straight!

Not really. Perhaps a pinch.  Wink

I know many Filipinos, and I know they're all very proud of their country. But they also leave that country instantly if they ever get the chance, and even then they remain very proud of the place they left behind for a better place.

Because they believe that there are more job opportunities outside Philippines.

Do I shitpost? Yes, who does not  Roll Eyes
Many people don't, it's the people who don't care that create a huge problem on this forum. I currenly report much more posts than I place by myself.

Depends on the definition of shitpost from every individual.

As far as I know, this forum doesn't have any rules against something as biased as "ethics"

Fully aware but did I said The Pharmacist break any rules? I just accepted his request Roll Eyes

I agree but at least you did not singled out Filipinos.
Why do you care so much?

Not much Grin

but it's also obvious the large majority of Filipinos on this forum are shitposters. What if he'd say the same about all Asians: would you still be mad? Or if he says the same about all humans?

I cannot argue with something obvious. I am not actually saying "why only us?" or something. Just the tone and language used.

If you don't speak English, don't post on English sections.

But there's no restrictions regarding that.

I apologize for shitting on your lawn.

Also, doesn't this shit belong in Reputation?
I think so, yes. Unless he considers this to be related to the forum, but as far as I've seen, much worse language doesn't get deleted by moderators. I think theymos values expression of speech much higher than possibly hurting someone's feelings.

I considered this as related to this forum so I posted this shit here. If I did a terrible judgement I'll be happy to move this (give me a go signal Cheesy)

I am not up to mods and admin to do something about this but just to say that The Pharmacist crossed the line and happily complied with his request. I so not even want an apology, that would be shit, isn't it  Roll Eyes
169  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Pharmacist - Attacks Filipinos here in BCT on: January 11, 2018, 07:29:19 PM
I don't agree with certain language he used and he could probably tone it down a little ...

Thanks.

but this is just a symptom of people's frustrations here with 'shitposters' and the sad fact is that a good majority of them happen to be Filipino (along with other South East Asians such as Indonesians and to a lesser extent Vietnamese).

I agree but at least you did not singled out Filipinos.

Whilst The Pharmacist was probably out of line I kinda agree with actmyname that you should direct most of your anger towards your fellow countrymen as it's them that are giving you all a bad name.

I am not that mad of The Pharmacist. I respect his opinion/statement but just like you've said, he's out of line.

I cannot blame some (or many) of my fellow countrymen here if they're not well in english (I consider myself as well) or if they're only here because of bounties. No matter what the reasons are, at least they are having a life. Some uses bounties here to sustain studies, to cope daily expenses due to unemployment. Some helps the community, the 2 Filipino Moderators for the most suitable example. Some wants to learn and be updated.

If the forum wasn't swamped with so many of you causing a good percentage of the mess here there probably wouldn't be so much hostility towards you.

It's hard to clean up messes especially if you did not make and/or cause them.

They are sharp enough to cause wounds and could even kill. I respect opinions but yours are too offensive in my side.

Not true. Words don't kill people. Actions do.

Also, sticks and stones...

That's figuratively speaking.
170  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Pharmacist - Attacks Filipinos here in BCT on: January 11, 2018, 06:50:50 PM
Honestly, you shouldn't be mad at The Pharmacist but rather direct your frustrations towards the account farmers that perpetuate this shit. How many times do you see chum bucket scum posting all this asinine crap? Perhaps not all people from the Philippines circulate garbage across the forum and spew diarrhea out the wrong end, but you certainly do see a lot. Enough to make such a generalization.

It could be harsh. But doesn't this highlight the problem with the forum? Up to you to stop them from being dingos.

Am I mad? Perhaps.

Do I approve shitposting? Nope. Others might label me as one and I don't care.

Do I shitpost? Yes, who does not  Roll Eyes

The main point here is not about shitposting or whatsoever. The point is that The Pharmacist called Filipinos (in general) starving and obsessed with bounties, pansies, and monkeys. Do you want someone to mock a community you're in, in general? Hell no. That is discrimination and racism. Not to mention unethical.

To The Pharmacist: Request granted.

The request:

You people are a bunch of pansies, wounded by words.  And if Filipinos wete any less evolved as a society, they'd all have fur and tails.  Their collective contributions to bitcointalk are ZERO.  If you can prove me wrong, do so in another thread, preferably in English.
Archived: https://archive.fo/QN9Jn#40%

The first direct attack:
Dude, lock the thread so as not to mislead these desperate shitposters--which are the only applicants you're going to get with an offer like this.  Nobody understands what's going on, and meanwhile the Philippines is starving to death whilst anticipating a bitcointalk paycheck.

Sad to say, but I'm loving the campaign UN-availability.  It's about time these sig campaigns have come to an end.  Perhaps the forum will shed these knuckleheads for good and for all.
Archived: https://archive.fo/JOfIS#60%

Directly stated that Philippines/Filipinos are "starving to death whilst anticipating a bitcointalk paycheck" and would only mean that Filipinos here are obsessed to be paid via bounty campaigns in this forum and are very poor (based from "starving to death").

He also may have indirectly called Filipinos as "desperate shitposters". Though this phrase may be addressed to everyone (who are shit posters, of course) but the fact that he singled out Philippines is just a clear form of discrimination and racism. (I am not saying that there are no shitposter from Philippines but there are shitposters from other countries as well.) Be fair, at least.

The second direct attack:
You people are a bunch of pansies, wounded by words.  And if Filipinos wete any less evolved as a society, they'd all have fur and tails. [1] Their collective contributions to bitcointalk are ZERO.  If you can prove me wrong, do so in another thread, preferably in English.

173  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin redistributes wealth or just makes the wealthy richer? on: January 10, 2018, 10:31:19 PM
Just that... do you think there is any re-distribution effect at all due to bitcoin?

How can Bitcoin redistribute wealth when Bitcoin is not backed by gold, currency or anything? Bitcoin is just like fiat, it has a value because the community believes it has a value. The community drives Bitcoin's value so there is no wealth that is redistributed at all.

Bitcoin does make wealthy people wealthier. Since the price of Bitcoin is so high, only rich people can easily invest to Bitcoin. Thus making then even richer.
174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uncertainty in bitcoin market. on: January 10, 2018, 08:45:27 PM
For the pass five days we have been find indecision in bitcoin pricing and I hope this is to  the holders favour!  I have started having a little panic as most of us may have the same feeling and I did not expect bitcoin to fall below $13,000 as this is going to push many to loss.  What happen next?

Well, for experienced users and investors, when Bitcoin's price drops significantly they do not panic because they are worried Bitcoin will not recover, instead they panic because they want to buy more and not be left out by the opportunity (yes, that's sarcasm). If you're still holding your Bitcoins then you haven't loss any amount yet. Yes, Bitcoin is volatile but many are certain that Bitcoin will continue to rise.
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: A stable Bitcoin on: January 10, 2018, 08:37:07 PM
What if Bitcoin started acting more like a real currency, becoming more stable on the $14000 to $15000 level without veering too much away from it. Would you support that kind of stability? Would that make Bitcoin a better store of value for you?

Would you buy more Bitcoin?

In order for that to happen, the buy and sell of Bitcoin should be balanced as well as supply should be proportional to its demand. We all know that it will never happen since Bitcoin is decentralized. Nonetheless, saying that Bitcoin would stabilize and behaves more like a currency, many will still buy Bitcoin. However, transaction-related issues should be considered and addressed first. Bitcoin is a good way of having money transactions but if the transaction fees will keep on increasing then Bitcoin might become worthless for some.
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: When bitcoin price will be increased again on: January 10, 2018, 08:08:30 PM
I invested about $3500 in bitcoin on 19th December, 2017. After that Bitcoin price has been decreasing and this decreasing is ruing non stop. Now I am in loss amount of $700. I am so much frustration with my investment  Shocked. I am waiting for better time. If you have any idea please share in this thread.  Huh

If you haven't sold any of the Bitcoin you bought then you haven't lost any amount yet. It just happened that you bought Bitcoin when it is at it's peak so experiencing down time is normal. Just keep on holding your Bitcoin since BTC is very much profitable in the long run. Patience should be your option for now. Bitcoin is Bitcoin, only weak hands suffer Wink

Hey, what action would you take if a large percentage drop occurs on btc. Would you ride it out with faith it would come back, or cut your loses at a certain point. In the past I've made the mistake of riding stocks down. I'm not comparing btc to stocks just using that as an example of past mistakes. At this point I might be tempted to ride it seeing how Bitcoin bounces back and has proven to be resilient. I don't want to be negative but it's good to look at different sides of investments

In most cases, experienced traders and investors out there are hoping for Bitcoin to drop in value. This is for a short while. The reason is that they want Bitcoin to be cheaper at the moment so that they could purchase more Bitcoin at a lower price. So when Bitcoin crashed or drop tremendously in value, buy. Do not hesitate because Bitcoin will recover quickly.
