161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confused on: July 01, 2015, 03:37:58 PM
Every man his own currency you may think in these modern times...and even more confused when sites like XAPO offers collective Wallets and sites like BitMixer offers a Wallet of mixed currencys.
Can someone please explain how to act with theese to be on the safe side?

You are getting these points wrong.

Xapo is a Switzerland-based company that provides a bitcoin wallet combined with a cold storage vault and a bitcoin-based debit card. (from Wikipedia) and Bitmixer is a mixing service wherein you mix your coins in different wallets so as to conceal any traces of you and where the bitcoins will be after the mixing process. To simply explain this, Xapo is a wallet provider and Bitmixer is a service to help you cover the traces of your spending.

A mixer is also good if you are super rich, and don't want your money associated with your address (to avoid being a hack target for instance).

Unfortunately I do not have this problem.

I think that online wallets are pretty safe, but if you have anything more than 2-3 btc I would seriously look in to getting a HW wallet.  I like the ledger, and they even have a pretty cheap version for ~15$.  But to me it depends on how much funds you have because at some point you don't have enough to bother with all of the super high tech security measures.
162  Economy / Gambling / Re: DoodleDice(dot)tk - new dice site on: July 01, 2015, 03:33:50 PM
This is a dicesite? with free domain and not have any graphic, only a white page? Gambling/dice is nice already for the color, who play to one dice like this?

This is what I was thinking.  Thanks, but I will stick to dadice and a few other places to scratch my dice.
163  Economy / Gambling / Re: SLOTOBIT.COM #1 TOTALLY ANONYMOUS BITCOIN CASINO on: July 01, 2015, 03:32:16 PM
This looks interesting, but I won't download anything like this to play.  Is there any way you can have your site web based only?  My guess is that by downloading you save some server costs right?
164  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Investor wanted for CryptoCoin gaming website! on: June 30, 2015, 07:43:35 AM
I suggest you rethink the scheme you are offering.  I don't think too many will be interested to wait a whole year to get paid.  You might have better luck with a bunch of small investors providing the bank roll, as seen on some gambling sites.  You can offer them daily payouts on their deposits.  Good luck Smiley

I detect a sock puppet in our midst Tongue  A hedge fund?  Seriously, you guys should try harder than that if you think you will be able to scam some money here.  I think most of us have seen this thing too many times to fall for it.  Maybe sell a bridge or something?
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Twitter Campaign for Greece ! Mustread for All on: June 30, 2015, 07:34:42 AM
But how will they buy the coins?  It is a pita to get them, they can't just buy them at the store.  Plus their money is stuck in the banks.  There will be serious limits at the banks for the near future because the Greek government knows that the run will continue.  So imo it is too late for the Greek people to take advantage of bitcoins.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Greeks are rushing to Bitcoin on: June 30, 2015, 07:32:14 AM
This isn't the Greek people running to bitcoins.  The data shows that the increase of purchases in euros is about the same as it was last month.  BTC was bouncing off of the 220's and 30's for a little while, and the upward momentum seemed stronger than the downward momentum.  I think that the Greece thing might have been a catalyst to bring in some investors, but I don't think the Greek people are doing it.  We (people in general) don't tend to fix things until they are already broken.  Almost no one would have had the foresight to buy bitcoins, and even if they did they would have done it weeks ago, not now when all of the banks are closed.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 07:28:47 AM
We focus too much on Renewable energy... why not focus on developing Asic technology that use less energy, like these people did.
http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/08/15/german-startup-says-its-new-chip-halves-bitcoin-mining-energy/

Combine that with renewable energy and you will have a WIN/WIN situation.

Spreading the load and using energy more effectively is the key to success. http://www.coindesk.com/bitfury-light-bulbs-mine-bitcoin/

The problem is that mining profits are tied to electricity costs.  So if they come out with a mass produced unit that uses 50% less energy, it seems to me that people would just buy 2x of them and we would be back to square one.

The real problem is how we get our juice.  Here in the usa we use quite a lot of coal, so almost anything would be a better alternative.  I think the best solution is to have government run nuclear power plants.  Private run plants will always cut corners, leading to problems if not a meltdown.
169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Video: Bitcoin 101 - What is Bitcoin? on: June 28, 2015, 05:22:59 PM
I agree dude, bitcoin is the real deal here, litecoin is his little brother.

The other shill coins will just fail like ripple. But i think NXT and maybe Ethereum has nice future too

i don't agree, something like monero or dash, can survive, because they offer something that other coin does not have, untraceable payments

so you can add one of these two to the bag of the good coins

well one could argue that no merchant will accept those because they are fully anon, and so you need to use convert them in bitcoin ultimately, which is pointless, because you will lose the anon fueature

but still in the used market, they are great, especially here on bitcointalk

I think so.  Monero seems to have nice momentum behind it, but it is really hard to predict which will come out on top.  Just look at doge lol.  I totally didn't see that one becoming as popular as it is.

172  Economy / Gambling / Re: Who tried betexpert.me? on: June 28, 2015, 05:12:03 PM
Stay away, even if they do have a good system, there are always surprises tha tcan not be predicted.  For example the mayweather-pac fight, I was thinking of betting something on pacman because I thought he had a real chance for an upset.  But it turns out he was fighting with a torn rotator cuff or something like that.  It is why when he got may on the ropes he didn't pull the trigger.  The point is that there is no way to predict these things, and a few unexpected surprises can wipe you out.  I am glad I didn't bet on the fight!
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion about Wimbledon 2015 on: June 28, 2015, 05:07:58 PM
I think it is too hard to call the winner, but once we see how everyone is playing come game day then it will be easier to see who has the best chances of winning.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [BOT] NiceHashBot - FREE bot for auto. order and profit management on NiceHash on: June 28, 2015, 12:20:01 AM
Can this bot automatically buy hash and then put it in a pool, and only buy at a price that you will make a profit?  That would be really cool, but by your description it is hard to tell if this is the case or not.  I looked at nicehash, but one thing that stops me from using it is that it is really hard for me to tell if I can break even or not.

So is this basically like chain profit.com?  It looks like the same sort of thing with out the time limit.
176  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free $25.00 ND Also selling several sites on: June 28, 2015, 12:15:45 AM
um, wait what?  What does all that mean up there?  Is this a review of the site or something?
177  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Tips share] Road to 0.1btc on: June 27, 2015, 11:57:31 PM
You will have to bet the underdog to win that much.  You might be better of with higher paying games, but I guess if you know a lot about sports then it isn't a bad way to bet.
178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brothel Offers Free Sex To Protest High Taxes on: June 26, 2015, 04:06:32 PM
A brothel in Salzburg, Austria, is offering free entrance, drinks and sex this summer, as a way to protest what the owner sees as being high taxes.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/15/austrian-brothel-tax_n_7589458.html, "Austrian Brothel Protests Taxes With Free Sex"
So, how many of you are going to spend your vacations in Salzburg, Austria, this summer? Cheesy
Obsolutely, I am not going to support such things, let they pay tax or not. Their professional itself is not good for any place and it is forbidden in all the aspects of life and religion. This type of professions are the causes for slave industry and human trafficking.

-It may not be good for any place, but there is no way it will ever go away.  There will always be prostitution, so having it legal provides better health safety and better working conditions for the women.  And I disagree that it is not good.  How is it not good, do you have proof in some way, or do you just think that sex outside the missionary position with married people is icky?

-So, if it is forbidden in YOUR religion, then everyone should have to follow your rules?  I don't think so.  I have some beliefs that you would be very upset at being forced to follow.  This is how other people feel when you force your contrived morality on them.  It is also not forbidden in aspects of life (?).  You may not be aware of it, but lots and lots of people have lots and lots of sex, much of it against the antiquated rules set out by religion.  Money may not be exchanged in most cases but there is plenty of adultery, sodomy (technically any sex not for procreation), and other types of naughtiness going on.  Just because you don't get any doesn't mean that other people should not.

-To the contrary , the illegalization of this industry contributes to the slave industry adn poor treatment of workers.  If everything was on the table and regulated, then it would be more difficult to use slaves for this.  Again we have the case where antiquated religious beliefs end up hurting people because of the refusal to accept reality.  Prostitution will never go away, it will be the last thing to go right after the cockroaches die off.  So you can pretend that it doesn't happen, or you can deal with it in a way that is best for everyone.  I hope that we can stop saying "lalalal LA LA!!!!" with our eyes closed and our fingers in our ears.  You want to stop human trafficing then you need to deal with the problem in reality, not some make believe world where no one has sex.
179  Other / Politics & Society / USA finally approves gay marriage on: June 26, 2015, 03:53:46 PM
USA finally approves gay marriage.  The shocking thing to me is not that it took so long for the bastion of "freedom" to make a decision on the issue, but the fact that the supreme court vote was 5-4.  That means that nearly 50% of our supreme court justices disagree with our constitutional right to freedom of religion.  I find this very worrying, but I guess after the constitution has been gutted the last 10 years or so it should not be too surprising.

Thoughts?
180  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: (NEW) CRYPTOSPEED a cryptocoins speed competition! starts 29th June on: June 26, 2015, 03:47:45 PM
So how does it work?  You have a target confirmation time, and the person who sends coins closest to tha ttime wins?  How do you reconcile different play amounts, or are all entries the dame price?  This is an interesting game I hope it gets some play here.
