I am not the owner of bitcoincharts. I am independent. tcatm is the owner and has asked my if i would post my analysis there which I happily accepted. Thank you for including my core statement and posting some clarifying words that distinguish forecast from technical analysis on past chart movements on your site. If there is a problematic effect, displaying the nature of the discussion alone should help.
(Though I kind of dislike how you try to then shake off the argument and my credibility using an a posteriori analysis of a correct trend forecast. But I guess that's the way such public discussions go.)
I really like your comments, and I did not want to create the perception that you are not credible. After seeing you posting more than the first thread, I see that you have expertise and I like the discussion. For perspective, we had a couple of newbees there trying to create scam-type of threads very often. But you are not one of them. I have revised my blog to not put you in the wrong spotlight. Hope this is fine now. I would be a fool to dance around a few cent in price if I expected a continuing rally to 5$ or 10$ realistic and probable; do your math on what chances I'd need to jump on.
This is what I am saying, we are on the same page. Currently, the market is in a sideways range and it might not be very wise to buy now within this congestion area. You may wait for a clear breakout. If a breakout happens, the upside is quite big, because as you say, the market is tiny and if significant funds flow in, it is not irrational to say that 2,5,10$ can be reached fast (10x higher). Recall when prices were in the 0.065$ congestion area in September 2010: Within 6 months, prices increased 15x. indeed, it is fun to see what happened after we were writing this.. |

How stupid this is. I can't believe it.
A "Wall Street Guru" declares to be bearish AFTER price plunges from 1163 $ to 152$, a decline of 90% (now bitcoin prices are at 236 $). This is typical. Wall street analysts have no clue what's going on. Instead, most often they are a great contrarian indicator.
On bullbearanalytics, we have been BEARISH right in the 1000$ zone http://bullbearanalytics.com/2015/01/17/bitcoin-predictions-review-outperform-buy-hold/. We are fine not being called wall street gurus.. we don't care. we focus on doing the right analysis for our community members.

- Der Vergleich hier FIAT vs. Bitcoin bringt uns einfach nicht weiter. Wir können daraus weder lernen, noch Argumente & Image daraus ziehen für Diskussionen im gesellschaftlichen Mainstream oder der Presse.
Sicherlich könnte man einige auffällige Detals über diesen angeblichen (100 Banken) FIAT-Hack, aus den Presseartikeln, in Zweifel ziehen bzw. falsifizieren. Aber ich tue es nicht. Es bringt nichts. Es wäre frei von Nutzen.
- Ich traue nur den großen, westlichen VC-finanzierten Bitcoin-Startups (Coinbase, Kraken, BitPay, ...), die nachweislich mit anerkannten Industrie-Experten, Sicherheitsaudits und Multi-Signature arbeiten.
Alle anderen Amateur-Operationen werden früher oder später gehackt und leer gemacht. Sollte man sich nichts vor machen.
Diesen asiatischen Exchanges würde ich als Europäer sowieso insbesondere nicht trauen. Weil ich dort viel weniger Einblick in den Markt hab (Background Betreiber) und nicht mal die News lesen kann, wenn sie zB. auf Chinesisch ist.
Beispiel: ich misstraue BTC-E und BTC38. Aber BTC38 misstraue ich noch mehr, weil ich nichts über BTC38 weiß. Wäre ich Asiate, wäre es vielleicht anders rum.
- Positiv ist: die Summe der per Hack geklauten Funds wird i.A. immer kleiner.
(Entwicklung von: 800.000 weg bei MtGox, 140.000 weg durch Staatshacking bei Silk Road, 18.000 weg Bitstamp Hack und jetzt eben nur 7200 BTC weg bei bter.com)
- Positiv ist: jeder Hack hardet das Öko-System weiter (und sorgt im Nachgang für mehr Sicherheitsanstrengungn & -technologie) und verdeutlicht jedem Konsumenten und Business-Player die Bedeutung von Coin-Security weiter
