But how can you know these tips when you were newbie like us? After all we still the same

You asked too hard, I still complain but I also tried to share some experience for the bounty hunter, unfortunately no one seems to find it very useful. Nevermind I blog most of the time that =))

Good. Looking at your post history (which consists of pages upon pages of low to zero value one liners), you are clearly motivated by something other than the enjoyment of participating in constructive discussion. While there's nothing wrong with wanting to earn a little bit of money (hell, we're in a forum about a new form of electronic currency so the crowd it attracts is bound to be either tech and / or business minded), it should not come at the expense of the forum.

I think that is one of the motivations for the forum to grow and have more new members. Of course it's not good to just write articles to get merit.

Quote from: alanst
You will be getting a merit as soon as you'll stop looking for it. Just start helping instead of complaining and it will come.
And just look at that, he was given a Merit on his second post without a sweat.
I explained my rationale for giving him a merit here, and I stand by it.  It was for that post which was a short but well-written post by a noob who I thought deserved it.
I gave him my last source Merit (for the first time since I became a source, I finally managed to spend them all). On top of your reasoning: he's also a Copper Member, so he doesn't need to be Jr. Member for the perks. And he made only 3 posts since June, which isn't the typical spammer. Basically new users who aren't spammers make me very happy, as that is what this forum needs.

~ I have made 5 people very happy today. That gives me plenty of offline merit to be able to do something like that for someone  Smiley
I'll have to disagree with your reasoning here. Making someone happy isn't a good reason to merit a post. I can just as well get them banned if they break the rules, knowing damn well it can seriously impact someone's income in a poor country. I won't merit them to make them happy, and I won't stop reporting bad posts because it could make them sad.

There are many responsible members like you so well, many members have quality posts but little attention. And they really should get at least 1 merit for their contributions...
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stop searching for merits and you will received them.- see Smerit as liabilities on: September 17, 2018, 02:54:37 PM
I chatted with a senior member of this forum after I notice almost all his posts or comments he made got merited. I asked for his secret and guidelines his replies got me thinking he said;
(1). "Stop searching for merit and you will get them i.e stop commenting or posting just to get merits." so I stop and to my surprise I got merited for the first time in this forum and the funny part is, it was not even my best comment (in which i was using to search for the merits).

(2). I should see Smerit as liabilities to myself and an Asset to others and give them away to deserving users immediately I get them. I did that few days ago and i just notice that merit i sent save another user from being demoted.

All I'm saying is, instead of commenting/posting to get merits do those act to add value to other. Hopping this post inspire someone to do the right thing.

Oh, I'm not good at English, and I'm a bounty hunter. I also tried to write a share article with the intention of earning some merit for fun a few months ago and realized it was hard for my limited knowledge and language. It does not matter at that time because I do blogging is primarily and Here is my article for that purpose: D https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4417367.0
165  Other / Meta / Discuss a parallel mechanism with the system merit sources in the forum ! on: September 17, 2018, 02:44:31 PM
Today's message of theymos about re-updating the merit system has really heated the forum. I would like to share a bit of my thoughts on the merit system.
- First of all, the merits of today: Newcomers especially those from the country who do not use English and are not good at foreign languages will almost never have an article on thorough analysis. graphics, tables, and analytics, on topics with in-depth terms about blockchain. Satisfying the requirements of longtime members on the forum who have merit sources. Not to mention the fact that these members barely had time to pay attention to them. In addition there are a small number of members who spend their time to find and report to the receiving merit posts which they deem unreasonable. It is good to reduce fraud, but it also makes it even more difficult to get new members.
- For those reasons, I'm thinking about a complementary system for merit systems and its sources, you can discuss it:
+) Supplementary sources every year or every 2-3 years and may be just enough for members to jr.member. Condition is that members must reach certain post and activity ( 100 -200 activity). Can not you still be a newbie if you're still in the forum for 5 years or 10 years?
166  Other / Meta / Re: Before you give merit to a newly-demoted newbie... on: September 17, 2018, 02:06:35 PM
I feel that I should probably make an appearance here, since I'm mentioned in the first post.

Let me start off by saying I respect everyone's opinion and understand their reasoning for not agreeing with me. Based on the reactions I'm getting, my view of Bitcointalk is potentially not even aligned with Theymos. However, I am not a merit source so I do feel I can grant my (limited) merits based on my own values.

My opinion is that quality is important, but that the merit sources are to strict for some non-native speakers. Most expect lengthy posts in fluent English, related to Bitcoin. In my view, this leaves an important group of non-native, less eloquent, visitors who will never be able to gather any merits. These members do not deserve to become Legendary members, but I don't think that jr. membership is overrating their contributions. They are ensuring I have new posts to read when I come online, trying to contribute to the best of their abilities.

Of course I excluded posters specifically farming for merit, only participating in bounty campaigns etc. What we're talking about are the users that write 2-4 sentence replies in non-fluent English, under relevant posts on a regular basis. My feeling is that these members do deserve jr. membership after making hundreds of relevant, non-eloquent, posts.

As a result of the previous discussions, people seem to think I'm devaluing merits by doing so. The good news is I only had 5 to give away. I don't think the merit system will collapse because of me but I have made 5 people very happy today. That gives me plenty of offline merit to be able to do something like that for someone  Smiley

Very nice to read your comment, can say it is sympathy for the new members of the forum. I have read the above discussion and I am actually a member from a country that does not use english as my main language and my foreign language ability is quite limited. It can be said that it is almost impossible to write a long analysis with complex technical terms and graphs so the ability to collect merit is impossible. In addition to the merit system, it is now desirable to have a merit system for members every year or every two years (only 1 merit) of new members who meet the required number of activities during the year (in the range 100-300 Activity). That's great for all right?

167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 60 bounty in 2 hours/day? on: September 17, 2018, 01:53:07 PM
I do not see any point in joining the bounty companies on social networks. I mean Twitter, Facebook. The work is tedious, grammose and you need to keep at least 50 projects at a time. Is not it easier to participate in creating content for example? I did one review, but I got more than several times those who participate in social networks.

Of course it's a tedious task everyday, it's for new players who do not have much skill. They just work hard as they can earn ~ $ 20 per project. Initially, it can be hard but when they are familiar with the rules everything will be much faster, after 2 - 3 months you can see the token on the wallet regularly.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I make money (no scam) on: September 16, 2018, 02:49:22 PM
To me there are several ways:
1) participate in bounty campaigns and airdrop programs.
2) Join the survey on Clicksense.
You can find out or pm me if you are interested.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fake ico and bounty on: September 16, 2018, 02:47:39 PM
My personal experience is that you should follow scam alert topics on the forum, learn how to evaluate the project via Whitepaper, ideas, profiles of project members ... with it.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Earnings on: September 16, 2018, 02:35:49 PM
Hi guys.

Out of curiosity, what are you earning with bounty campaigns?
I think I'm somewhere near 1K USD/month, but I guess there have to be people here who are earning lots more.

Kind regards

EDIT:

As many people do not believe these profits, I will explain how I make them.

I focus on the translation campaigns (dutch). A translation pays +- 3 ETH on average. I have only started (only 1 translation has been paid, I received +-2 ETH), but as I can make up to 3 translations/month (currently working on 2 more), this would get me 9 ETH/month.  As not every project is succesful, let's say I will receive 4,5 ETH/month.

Do not focus on signature campaigns or social media campaigns, these are the crumbs (especially for members with lower ranks) while translation campaigns are probably the bread.

I use the Bountyhive platform to manage my bounty participations, this platform makes it possible to be enrolled in 10 campaigns at the same time, without having to report.

I also got some projects on Bounty hive, but only got token number ~ 1-2 ETH, with low ETH ~ $ 210 now, it's not worth the effort and time.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it better to buy during ICO or Market? on: September 16, 2018, 03:07:00 AM
I noticed that many investors were afraid to buy during ICO because their reason they are cheaper can be bought on market. Especially when they found out  that a large percentage is allotted in the bounty program. Many Bounty Hunters  immediately selling token/coin even lower than the ICO price.

#Datarius

Now it is definitely better to buy on the market, I think the current ICO will have to be improved to be fairer to the investors.

Well, it must say in 2018 many Failed ICO project because they dont have any vision for long term
Many of them just do fundraising and Poof, they gone

I think the more known crypto, including short-term investors, is also very good. The market is just in the early stages and is in great need of spreading to the whole community, as much as possible.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market Goes Down and Down on: September 15, 2018, 11:09:33 AM
The same story last year where most of the time all are down especially on altcoins. Then there was few weeks rally but it was wild and big. The same happens this year imo. Hopefully 2019 will be a better story.

true, all all people that that that are 2018 the field will be going in the first after the last year, we think must be last 2019 when crypto accept the popular variable than the new restore.

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin prices now the real price? on: September 14, 2018, 03:48:24 PM
The market is in a strong correction, and of course weak ICO projects will soon leave the market. This is the rule of supply and demand, and after a new capital injection into the market the remaining coin will bring huge profits.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are too many new Token, new project on: September 14, 2018, 03:44:09 PM
I think that there are least 1 token or project or exchange were born everyday!
When I read ANN. Oh. I didn't research all. Maybe we have miss some good project.....Because there are too Project...
I hate this thing on Crypto Grin

I think that is the natural law, everyone sees the opportunity from the ICO project and they will do it, no one else. Simply follow the bounty in the forum, the number of it is too large so you can track all.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH recover? on: September 14, 2018, 03:40:39 PM
Hello guys, what do you think about today’s situation with ETH? Will ETH recover, or soon altcoin number 1 is going to disappear?

Of course, I always trust ETH to replace BTC's position in the near future, the development team needs to upgrade their platform. That's what everyone is waiting for now
