The issues that remain are not anything that I can help with. So, I could just not do any new coding and wait. But that does not seem quite right.

Adding more pressure to the GUI team to release, that I could do, but that would seem counter productive as they are all working hard and making good progress and adding pressure could well just create delay.

Please understand that there is a relatively large team working on komodo and I am doing just the deep core portions. And that by its nature the parts I work on has to be completed before the other parts can be completed, or even started on in some cases.

If it makes you feel better, I do fix any issues with komodod and iguana that are serious bugs at the highest priority, like the overflow crash today. Also, out of the work I am doing on the marketmaker, we were able to get basilisk mode for BTC to work without importaddress and without requiring the notary nodes to run the DEX explorer. This directly relates to the upcoming GUI release, but it only happened as I was creating a new required functionality for the DEX.

Alternatively, I could just not post any details about anything I am working on that is beyond the scope of the current release. However, that would seem to give the "insiders" (people active in slack) a distinct advantage as I do have to communicate what I am doing as it relates to others and that happens in slack.

There was a bugfix released today for komodod to solve a problem with having more than 1000 utxo in the wallet.

It was crashing in the logging code, so after it completed the processing it died in the logging code.

A bit embarassing, but we didnt have any tests with wallets having 1000+ utxo and it was in the new 5% APR code.

If you are running native komodod and have a large number of utxo, it is good to update. It is a local change only and does not affect consensus.

The house marketmaker profits (if any) would indeed be tradebots revenue source. That part is a bit speculative, however all of the DEX fees it generates will be flowing back as a percentage of the DEX revenues. That part is simply a percentage of overal, so even if there isnt large amounts of profits from this as long as there are a large number/volume of trades it will indeed generate Tradebots (BOTS assetchain) revenues.

We dont have enough capital to run more than KMD and some fiat pairs as there are quite a large number of just those.

However, the code is open source so it wont be hard for people to adapt it to other pairs. The idea is to decentralize the market making that is connected automatically to the DEX. So the more people that are running the DEXmarketmakers the more liquidity is available for the DEX users

marketmaker is slightly profitable with an effective purchase price of 10962 sats for ~1400 KMD purchased

I've deployed an automated market maker on bittrex. It's goal is to provide a tight spread for a 0.1 BTC size. This is a precursor to the LP node support as it will include automated marketmakers that advanced users can deploy. It should just be a form to configure some operating options in the GUI, so anybody so inclined could deploy a marketmaker. However, there is some risk in running a marketmaker if there is a large price movement, so make sure you understand the settings before deploying it with any large amount of funds.

For large KMD holders providing liquidity to the market will increase the value of KMD as liquidity is one of the components that goes into the market valuation of a crypto.

Next step is to extend the marketmaker to provide DEX liquidity.

Once that is debugged, we will be able to offer a decentralized shapeshift type of service via iguana GUI, where the end user is only doing atomic cross chain swaps and not interacting directly with any central exchange

Currently the market maker is set to a very low margin so KMD now has a 0.4% spread, which is consistently one of the lowest on bittrex. If you see quotes ending with 0.777 that is the market maker. It would be good to test out its behavior, so I encourage people to trade against the marketmaker and see if you can make it go crazy

I think a more realistic medium term target is $1, which is about half the highest market cap privacy coin. Of course it is hard to know what will happen, but half the leader is usually what the second place gets.

So using a comparables valuation and assuming all the current announced tech is completed, a second place in the privacy category doesnt seem far fetched.

After that, we can start thinking about competing against the largest platform currency, half of that is required to get to $5 price, so while there is a spot for that, until we can get half the highest privacy market cap, there is no sense to worry about any $5 price. In any case, such levels will be a long term process.

For now, we just concentrate on the next step and the next step after, etc. to complete the roadmap. With a completed current roadmap the above starts being possible. Not guaranteed, just possible. Without it, then I doubt it would even be possible other than some short term pump, which I have no interest in.

We are just getting started and I feel bad there were the issues at launch, but we did have a deadline to meet and we had to make some tradeoffs.

radix42 is working on a native windows komodod and we have a native osx komodod working in most osx versions. So soon we will have native komodod cross platform.

the basilisk is quite convenient and so we prioritized enhancing its performance.

the feedback we got about the various GUI issues have been mostly all corrected from what I have seen, so the next release should be a much better user experience.

Once we get the basics stable, then we expand into PAX and DEX being activated in the GUI.

And once the DEX is active, it really opens up a lot of use cases, especially with all the pax fiat chains, like JUMBLR and PANGEA, among others

Weekends have less buyers since a lot of high volume traders actually take the weekend off.

Less selling from them too, but without the high volume traders, even a small amount of selling could affect the price.

Next payout is scheduled for tomorrow, but there are not so many pending requests. Make sure to get your request in as we are now into weekly payout mode.

by any chance are the balances you mention from the block explorers?
If so they dont reflect interests at all

the total value of an address is the sum of utxo and sum of accrued interest
with many utxo, it gets complicated and messy pretty fast

we will be updating the GUI to clarify this and also to prevent trying to spend more than the sum of all the utxo, which should reduce the "Cant create rawtx" errors a lot

I am pretty sure the "loss" you are seeing is just a display mismatch between what you had accrued vs simple utxo total. The code is pretty explicit in the 5% calculation. There might be a bug of course, but so far I have not seen any related to interests in the recent versions

if you can keep an eye on the total in the GUI and track it to confirm the 5% per day that would be great
